Music Store Video quality on 30" HD display poor???

I am starting to check out the downloadable Music Store videos and Pixar films, etc.
When playing them, the resolution is poor. It is similar to what happens on my HiDef Plasma in the family room when not playing an HD signal.
I would have thought that since the source is Apple Music Store, playing on an Apple display, that this would not be the case. Do I have a setting wrong for this?

The resolution of video from iTunes is very very very embarrassingly horribly outrageously low (320x240) compared to your huge Apple LCD. So when you stretch it larger or make it full screen, it will look very poor. TV resolution is slightly higher than iTunes videos, but you still run into the same problem of stretching low resolution video to fit on a high resolution screen. The problem isn't as bad on plasma and other TVs because their resolutions aren't as high as the Apple LCD, and thus don't have to be stretched as much. It's like taking a small picture and enlarging it, at some point it'll look horrible.
The only way for iTunes video and TV to look clear and sharp is to view them at their native resolution, meaning you have to view them at 100% (or stretching to 200% at most), which will appear as a small window on your large LCD.

How to change iTunes music store audio quality?

I just bought some songs off of iTunes store, and I noticed that they're 128kbs M4A. Is there any way to change it to 192k or better? (And redownload the same songs in the better audio format?)

128kbps AAC should be fine for most users. (i.e. it's much better than 128kbps mp3). Some tracks will also be available via iTunes Plus which is 256kbps AAC.http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305567

Normally to convert music (i.e. I often reduce the quality on Audiobooks or podcasts to squeeze more on an iPod):
- Go to iTunes menu > Preferences... > Advanced > Importing.
- Make the settings to how you wish them and exit preferences.
- Then select one or more files, right click and choose "Convert selection to...".
This can't add quality though.

N95 problem in using Music Store ..

My Music store application is getting crash in N95 when i select any song to download . before entering into music store there is some info message displaying as asking to enable the Java script in the mobile . Can any one help me in enabling this Java script in N95 .

Hi,
You can only use one Apple ID with iTunes match. Purchasing another match subscription using wife's Apple ID is not a solution. I can only suggest that you use your ID for match and all iTunes music purchases.

X6+Nokia Music store + headphones - bad music qual...

I have Nokia X6 comes with music.
If I download music by nokia music store, the quality is really bad when I listen to songs with headphones??? I have Nokia WH-701 stereo headphones.
When I listen by phone speakers quality is OK... What is wrong?

I have the headphones and the quality by far better than the internal speakers.
When you plug your headphones in does it come up with a menu - so if make sure you select the headphones option.

Itunes - No artwork displaying in Library/Music Store/Pocasts etc.

I have just upgraded to the latest version of itunes and wthis worked with no problem for a few days - I then had to do a system restore and re-install this and now all I get where the artwork should be is a blank white space (library) or black boxes in music store and anywhere else (pocasts etc) that should display artwork. When downloading a podcast to my ipod the artwork is now missing from th ipod itself (although all previous artwork is there).
Any ideas on how to fix this much appreciated.

I now notice I can't play any music or videos in itunes - I can select the item but it doesn't play at all - the diamond doesn't even move...

Is the music-video quality worth $1.99?

This is my time line: I downloaded the iPod commercial (w/ U2 in it). I bought music videos.
I have to confess that the video and sound quality for music videos are way too low for $1.99. I expected the quality JUST AS IN THE AD but it is only a very small fraction of it. The commercial might be misleading. It is good but it does not reflect the reality of the product. Gotta check on that.
I understand that there might be limitations with the iPod. That's acceptable but what if I want to watch these videos in the computer? Shouldn't the software down-sample the videos for the iPod while maintaining a full-quality copy for desktop viewing?
You can legally download most of the music videos at the same size for free from well known sources (that are even related to Apple). Yes, some of the have lower video and sound quality BUT these are neither intended for HD TV viewing?
My two dollars: Make them larger and better and make iTunes install a reduced video for the iPod. Otherwise is only worth like $0.49.

I too am very disappointed by video quality especially for the price. If it had said it was 320x240 on iTunes Music Store I wouldn't even have thought about buying it. They are definitely misleading most people to think it's full quality. I know it needs to be 320x240 for an iPod but I'm down loading it to my computer and would expect at least 640x480 come on!! You should have to compress it for the iPod the same as you would with CD's. That's why I don't buy music from iTunes Music Store because the quality is too low for my standards. Now it's the same reason I won't buy videos either. Well thanks for letting me get that off my chest. The batterys the ipods come with are very sensetive somtimes they dont react right to the first couple of charges. Try fully charging it and then leaving it on until its completely drained a few times. If that doesnt work it might be a lemon.

30" cinema display video quality

Just wondering. Maybe its just me but the video quality on the 30" when I'm playing a dvd isn't the greatest. I was expecting a lot more. The image is quite pixelated. Is it the monitor or the dvd or the G5 or everything. I would have thought a monitor would have superior image quality over any other screen.

please realize that DVD's use a resolution of 720x480, your 30" display is 2560x1920 or something like that, so when you are running a DVD full screen of course it is not going to look to hot.
That is just how it goes unfortunately.
Unless you have it connected to a Blu-Ray or HD-DVD player, etc. runnint at 1080p (1920x1080) DVD's are not going to look like they would on a lower resolution TV.
Until they release DVD's at a resolution of 2560x1920 or higher, you aren't going to see super quality video from a DVD, on that display.
hope that answers your question. it is not just you either, DVD's don't look very good on basically any computer screen out their actually, the resolution is just much much lower unfortunately.

Music store onlt displays albums

This has to be simple!
Used to be, I'd do a search in Music Store of, say "The Thrill is Gone," and after whirring awhile, dozens of versions of the song would appear in a list, on which I could click to purchase one or more.
Now if I do a search, I get the pictures of several albums in windws about the list area, but there isn't any list or any way to buy a single song - just whole albums.
How to I get back to the simple list of individual songs?

Hey, I am having the same problem...It just started up the other day and I can't figure out how to get it to display the list of available single songs. Problem with videos purchased from music store! =/

i bought 3 music videos from the music store and noticed that the files were .m4v format. i had to reformat my computer recently but i saved the videos to a cd-r data disc. after reinstalling everything and trying to put the files onto my ipod, i get that pop up that says "some videos cannot be transfered to ipod" ..someone help!

Try playing those video files in iTunes first.
You probably have to re-authorize your computer before they can be transferred to the iPod.

I had the same problem on my iPad v2 IOS 7. But it sorted itself after a hard reset (power and home button) followed by a soft rest ( just power) . I lost all sound at this point. Then restarted again with a hard reset.

Videos from Music Store play "jerky."

I have iTunes 6.0.3 (6) and ever since upgrading to the latest Quicktime (7.04) and iTunes, the video bought in the Music Store plays back jerky (the sound is fine, but the images stall every second or so, then catch up with the audio. This is true with all downloaded video files from the Music Store. Quicktime still plays my other QT files just fine, outside of iTunes, but not the ones purchased from the Music Store. What can I do? I'd like to view these on the iBook since I don't have a video iPod. Help!

Only "Catch" is currently you cannot Burn and then play them in a DVD player. the "Data CD" will only play on a PC. Secondly when you try to play it on another PC, it will have to have iTUnes installed on it and (I THink) you have to authorize it.
Far as your own Videos go, If there listed or you add them to the latest version of iTunes (Version 6.0.4.2) you can rightclick a video in iTUnes and select "Convert to iPOd format". THere are other programs you can download off the net and use for this too just have to search around for a program you like and prefer. Burning Videos from Music Store

I want to download an entire season of a show from the music store, but only if I will be able to save it onto a disk so I can burn it or watch it on another computer. Is this possible? I'm not really familiar with this type of media, so any help would be appreciated.
Also, if anyone knows, is it possible to put my own videos onto my iPod? If so, how?
