Music stuttering when using airtunes

Hi
My wife is using a dual450 g4 tower on 10.4.11
and when she plays music over the express it constantly stutters
Is there any fix for this can i downgrade the itunes version or something
I am on a dual 2ghz g5 and never have a problem i also can stream her shared library with no stutters so i don't think it is an airport issue
Thanx in advance for any help

So not even you so called mac genius's have an answer thanks
i guess PPc is really dead
Jobs stop trying to be gates
I think your rich enough
Apple use to mean qaulity
Maybe i'm bitter but ppc lasted years for me.(upgradeable ahead of the competition)
Every intel i had is obsolete in a year or 2.
That was never the apple way
What happened to think different(Jim Henson and Kermit)
WAS IT A SHAM or a marketing ploy
Thanks for the reply and help
I should just get a cheap pc and install Mac osx on it now

  • Podcasts airplay streaming stutters when using safari. Worse on ios 7.

When streaming audio from the podcasts app on my iPad 4th gen to an AirPort Extreme using Airplay, the audio tends to block, stutter and freeze when using safari. Especially when safari is loading pages, the stream freezes for about 2/3 seconds.
I'm using an AirPort Extreme router.
    Everything has the latest firmware.
    Thanks.

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without be charged again.  Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

  • Music stutters when cover flow is used

I'm using 7.6.1.9, and since the latest "upgrade" I've been unable to use cover flow while music is playing. As soon as I invoke the cover flow mode, the song that's playing stutters a couple of times, stabilizes, and then stutters a bit every few seconds. If I use cover flower (i.e., flip through the covers), the song will fast-forward stutter until I stop.
    Any ideas?

itunes appears to be written very differently than most windows software. I've had many, many problems with iTunes being sluggish -particularly when it comes to video refreshing. I have a dual processor machine that is brand new and loaded to the hilt with ram. Every other application works perfectly, but iTunes scrolls song lists as if I'm simultaneously calculating the last digit of pi. I can't say why, but after using iTunes on 5 different PCs, I can say that the performance is not at all in line with the performance of other applications. Personally, I think they should just do a ground-up rewrite and come up with something much smaller and more conforming to windows standards, but until then some stuttering may occur!

  • Music Stutters when changing tracks encoded using FLAC

When changing tracks encoded with FLAC, the song stutters a bit at the beginning of each song. The rest of the song continues to play fine. It's just at the beginning when changing tracks manually.
These very same tracks played fine with the previous firmware on the iPod and play fine on my MacBook now using iTunes.
Anyone else running into the same thing?? Everything works, but its rather annoying!!!

I've been using ncmpcpp, but I witness the same behavior with other clients too.
Since I've seen other people mention the same stability issues, I was wondering if anyone came up with a solution for this ?
I was hoping to use mpd to build my music db, but I 'skim' through a lot of music, so it's not usable to me right now...
    Will appreciate any help.

Try that link out and try setting it up via user in the alternate setup.  I had issues it running as deamon... This way it will run as a local user and just add it to a start script when you start your .xinitrc or autostart.sh...

  • Spotify is stuttering when using it via airplay-Ipad 3/Iphone4s

I am using AppleTv and connect my Ipad or Iphone4s to it and listen to music via Spotify. It keeps stuttering and it is a verybad experience. When i play films or series from Netflix it works perfect, when i look at a play channel (ex SVT Play in Sweden) thru my ipad and connect it via airplay, it also works perfect. Only thing who dosent work the way i want is Spotify. I use wifi, i have 24/22 mbit/s. I have changed channels. Anyone who has any ideas to solve the problems?

So, I'm not sure what happened between yesterday and today, but it is playing my phone queue from my computer with no issues, but the song being displayed on my phone is not the one playing. I can live with that.

  • Flash video stutters when using DW's player

I'm banging my head against the wall with this one. I want to
add video to my site using Dreamweavers player. But, the video
stutters during playback. This is not an occasional hang up, it
seems to only play every other frame or so.
This problem has nothing to do with bandwidth or computer
speed. This problem occures when played back locally, AND DOES NOT
HAPPEN with another player. The problem is I do not want to use
another player. I add a lot of video for clients and I love how
easy it is to do that with Dreamweaver.
Here are samples using the same video file, only different
    PLAYERS:
    Problem Page
    Works fine on this test
    page (different player)
    Please help.

I don't see any evidence that you used Dreamweaver to insert
    the
player. Normally, when you insert Flash with Dreamweaver, it
    inserts
code I can readily identify. Did you use GoLive?
The pages you show are consipicuously missing the
    <object> code and
    the JavaScript that DW uses.
And I don't see any differences in the players. The pages
    both link to
files named flvplayer.swf (in different folders) with the
    same look and
the same file size. I am late in this thread, so maybe I
    missed the
    boat.
Anyway, I don't know if this would make a difference with
    that player,
but one page uses a relative link to the .flv, while the
    other page
    uses an absolute link, including
http://. See if changing that one to a
    relative link helps.
I only watched about a minute from both pages and, although
    872 Kpbs
for the video track is VERY high, I did not see any glitches.
(Did you mean to use two slashes in the second link?)

  • Experiencing lags when using AirTunes

    Hey all
I have a Lenovo Notebook and a Fujtsu computer, both running with Windows XP. I am running a WiFi-network with a TP-Link Router connected to a Motorola Modem (some crap my ISP gave me). There is an AirPort Express connected to this WiFi in my living room (approx. 12meters away from my router), to which my TV is plugged with an audio cable.
So, with this installation I am streaming music from my notebook (connected via WiFi) to the AirPort with iTunes (AirTunes). From time to time, I am experiencing lags or delays: for 1 or 2 minutes, the music interrupts every 5 or 10 seconds and stops for a couple of seconds. This is extremely annoying.
I have found an archived topic (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9587938) in which it was told that it's an issue appearing only since iTunes 8 and that a future update might help. Well, today theres iTunes 9 running on my PCs and the problem seems to exist, still.
Does anybody have a solution for that or is it still caused by the software?
I have been thinking of monitoring the network usage - maybe there is some sort of peak or overload during the lags.
And yes, as soon as I have finished my studies I will get me an Apple computer and an AirPort extreme. But I need to have a salary for that
    best regards from Switzerland
    Ivo

I was just listening to music with my airtunes speaker and after approx 15 minutes it started to have those interruptions again. So I decided to look for a monitoring solution (after a tool offered by microsoft didn't satisfy my needs). I now found Network Activity Diagram - which is great. I can now monitor the traffic to the AirPort graphically. I will do that the next time I'll be listening to music and tell you about my observations.

  • HT4325 Why is music "spotty" when using Airplay

Sending music from my laptop to AppleTV thru airplay and the reception is spotty.  Why?

Same here. I'm using iPod touch 4, together with an iRig MIDI, Sampletank, and some keyboards. My mixer is mono (most live gigs are in mono anyway) so I need the iPod to send mono. But it's barely hearable with the Mono Audio setting.

  • Music interrupts when using iTunes & remote speakers via Airport Express

Like many other I have had this problem.
    Short version:
It disappeared when I turned of a wireless network expander and was only running the network with the wireless router and Airport Express on.
    Long version:
I had the folowing setup. One Linksys wireless router, one Linksys access point configured as wireless repeater (to extend the range of my network). About in the middle my Airport Express is located. When I disconnected the Wireless Repeater the problem disappeared. My conclusion is that Airport Express was switching between the two "base stations" and that was when the interruption was created. Anyone else who has about the same setup and do experience the problem that can verify by disconnecting everything except the wireless router?

The trouble you are reporting sounds like WiFi connection probs. Signal quality and strength is just not sufficient to ensure a constant and high enough data transfer. I would recommend to do some test with AP and computer being rather close to each other. Its may a good idea to switch from WEb to WPA encryption.

  • Portions of music missing when using headphones or earbuds

Why can I only hear the bass on my iPhone when I'm on headphones or ear buds?

I tried that. Sigh. I've got more earbuds so I guess I'll have to try all of them.
p.s. You are NOT going to believe this: I had a newer pair of ear buds in my purse and I just tried them. THEY WORKED. So glad it was nothing major!

  • Music skips when using airplay with iphone4 to Apple TV

Songs will skip and pause, really annoying, could it my router???? If so how do I get airplay to work flawlessly!!!!!!!!

Mine started doing that once I updated iphone4 to ios6 and whatever 2 updates my Apple TV said it needed to do. Worst mistake ever bc YouTube is pain through web on phone. The only thing I figured was to keep phone close to wifi router.
I think it has to do with their software as I read people complaining about connecting to certain wifi.
My battery drains 100% faster on ios 6 than running on 5.1.1 with my iPhone/iPad.
Hopefully they will update soon. If I did not own 2 iPhones, New iPad, and Apple TV I would would switch to android. Apple doesn't care about their customers anymore. All they want is more stores to sell more. In the next 5 years I see a big decline in the forecast.  these are the first "new" devices since jobs passed and they are sucking it up with this software..... I am so ****** off right now.

  • Can iTunes library sharers see what track is playing when using airtunes?

I keep getting my family coming into my room to ask the name of iTunes tracks that they are listening via my iTunes library. It's annoying.
Does anyone know of an app (or way) that will display the playing track over a LAN?
I've googled and googled but came up with nothing.
    Surely someone has cracked this.

    No.

  • Music Stutter when playing music in itunes

My music stutters when I scroll or do something in another application when I am playing music in itunes at the same time. They have updated itunes since it started but it didn't fix the problem, in fact I think they made it worse.

    Sandy,
Go to this post and 'View All':
    http://discussions.info.apple.com/webx?128@@.68ba4951
Read through the process I went through to find and correct my playback hang (actually it was a system-wide periodic freeze). Don't bother with the related links yet (or b's threadjacks for my attention). Just use it to spark some thoughts and to develop a mind-set that may lead you to your issue.
In the end, I feel I got lucky, rather than good, in finding my problem. Even though I made some quick assumptions, I was always ready to test and discard them just as quickly.
If you have really gone through everything on these Discussions, you are left with self-diagnosis of your system, or a step-wise reinstall, testing iTunes out along every step of the way (ouch).

  • Music has skips on local speakers when using remote speakers via airtunes

Using airtunes connected to a stereo the computer (Windows media center) "skips" like a bad CD but the remote speakers never do. Turning off multiple speakers and the skipping goes away. • Airtunes drops when using Windows XP, but not Mac

We're currently using the AirPort Express as our wireless router, and everything works great from a connection standpoint. No problems with our MacPro or XP laptop.
However, when using XP to play AirTunes, the audio constantly drops out (itunes will pause, and then come back within a few seconds, green light on the APX stays lit). We've tried closing all other programs & processes, and even uploaded the 6.3 firmware for Windows, but still get the drop-outs. Never once had a problem with the Mac, even after the firmware change.
Also tried using a Linksys wireless router as our hub and connecting the APX to the network. same issues.
I haven't been able to find anything on the site about this, anybody else having this problem?
MacPro   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   Toshiba Laptop w/ Windows XP

    I'm experiencing something similar.
I have a TECOM wireless router with a a single win XP PC connected and two airport express stations for playing music remotely.
Green light still on, but iTunes frequently loses sight of the remote speakers after some period of time.
The solution thats often works is to disconnect and reconnect XP to the wifi network. But I'm not really happy with this (boring) method.
If anyone knew a setting that could help...
