Music "Stuttering" with v7

Ever since I installed v7 I occasionally get what I will call random “stuttering” or skipping during playback. Stopping and restarting playback seems to help at least for awhile. It is related to iTunes on my PC and not my iPod because the problem does not exist on the iPod.
Anyone else experiencing this and if so do you know how to correct? I have uninstalled and reinstalled v7 twice. I also tried to go back to v6 but get a message saying that won’t work because of a file being unreadable (because it was created with v7)

Is it just me or does each successive version of iTunes add some new features but messes up others? For example iTunes 5 played seamless mp3s, then iTunes 6 came along with a few new things, but seamless play back disappeared, which was inexcusable because every other mp3 software I've used always plays back seamlessly. Then iTunes 7 arrives, more new features they re-introduce seamless playback, but in a very poor way (I'm beginning to think this is what is causing the choppy play back issues) and they totally mess up "normal" playback if you are running anything else other than the memory greedy iTunes.
I think Apple is becoming far too "style over subtance" which is not good, because no matter how a product looks if it does not do what it is supposed to do then it's pointless.

When my Apple TV G2 is playing (airplayed from macbook) music, and the screensaver (Reflections) kicks in, the music stutters often. Audio is digital out, photo's just from ATV (flowers). Seems like CPU has trouble.

Yeah... MacMini seems to be a good choice until G6 hit the market...
But you have to be careful...Intel Macs are not as popular between developers as we would like them to, so if you have many other apps, you´re not going to be able to run them....by now

Music stutters or skips using ITunes 11

With previous editions of ITunes, I never had a problem playing my ITunes music on my Windows 7 computer while working on the computer at the same time. However, with the latest editions of ITunes (I am now using Version 11.1.4.62), whenever I have ITunes on and start to use my computer for other things, the music stutters and shimmys terribly while playing either through my computer's speakers or headphones. My only solution is to plug into my computer my classic IPod (non bluetooth). I have not yet tried using my IPhone with bluetooth. What is causing this problem? I am frustrated that these Apple Support Communities usually bring up questions instead of answers. Come on, Apple, give us some answers!

First You Need To Show The Sidebar, To Do That You Need To Click On The Left Top Corner And Choose Show Menu Bar, And From The View Tab Choose Show Sidebar, The Device Should Show On The Left, Just Do The Same As It Was The Previous Version Of iTunes "Drag and Drop"

I have over 12,000 songs in my library and my son likes the same music, but recently his ipod touch is picking up the texts from my wife's and my phone? I was told the only way to stop this is by giving him his own icloud account which would mean he wouldn't have access to my music library. Any ideas?

He can still use your Apple ID for iTunes content, no issues. He just gets a separate ID for everything else.

How did you move the music to the external drive? What exactly is on the drive? The entire iTunes folder or only music? If it is the entire iTunes folder you can do the option+start suggestion earlier. Her iPhone will need to be set up to iTunes Match using your Apple ID to be able to share music via iTunes Match. Otherwise you'll have to download the music to your computer and then copy those tracks into her iTunes library, assuming hers is separate.

Hi. The two user tips both describe a sequence of steps that should get your library from the point where it threatens to wipe data from your device to where it is syncing normally, while recovering as much information as possible. It may still be necessary to wipe and reload the device but this should only take place once all the data that can be recovered has been recovered.
Doing step 1 of 8 and then complaining things aren't the way you want them to be yet strikes me as premature...
Since you appear to have all your media content, and we are discussing an iPod classic, not an iOS device, the main worries are already taken care of. What's left is ratings, playcounts, playlist membership and checked status. Since your device holds only part of your library at best you could only recover the missing data for the content that is on the device using third party tools.
Recreating the previous checked/unchecked status of every track in your library from where you are now may not be that easy. Syncing with selected playlists has many advantages, one of which would have been that you would have a named playlist that could have been retrieved by 3rd party software if you had used this method.
You haven't explained what caused your problem in the first place, but if you have a Previous iTunes Libraries folder holding old copies of your iTunes database (generated with each iTunes update) then it would be possible to restore the most recent of these and then update the library with any changes in your media folder.
BTW Apple doesn't offer free support for this kind of issue with iTunes.

All of the following programs should work with Vista.
Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Another free program is Pod Player.
SharePod is also freeware.

Associating music files with palylists and/or music library

My HD went out but luckily (I thought) I had a backup of my iTunes folder on an external drive. After installing the new hard drive and all the updates to TIGER 10.4.x I copied my original iTunes folder to new drive to the music folder.
I see all my files in my library and play lists, but they all have an "!" by them and when I choose a particular song, a message comes up saying that iTnes can NOT find the associated music file (even though the file is actual there in the iTUnes folder and on my HD). Short of manually associating every library/playlist song with the actual music file (more that 2,000 files), is there any automated process or method to associate all the music files with the library/playlist files?????

First, back up your iTunes Library file - just in case the original gets damaged, you will have a clean copy to restore to.
*From the File menu, select Export Library and save as an .xml file to your desktop.
*Go to iTunes Preferences>>Advanced, and make sure that you have DESELECTED Copy music to iTunes folder when adding to library and SELECTED Keep iTunes Music folder organized.
*Close iTunes
*Now, go to the ~/Music/iTunes folder and remove the
b iTunes Library
file from this folder.
*Restart iTunes - your Source Menu and Library should be empty of everything except the standard preset playlists.
*From the File Menu, select "Add to Library" and navigate to the location of your music files.
*When the import process is finished, go to the File Menu, select Import and navigate to the Library.xml file you created in the first step.
Your links between songs should be reestablished and your metadata intact.

What music comes with fcpX as a extra?

I only got the final cut pro soundeffect (with the progamm of course)
A saw a vid.cam.demo and the credits for audio where: song was "snow motion "bundeld with fcpX".
So, there must be more than I have now, am I right and yes, where can i find that files?

Snow Motion is one of the Apple Loops for Soundtrack Pro and to the best of my knowledge it is not available in FCP X.
It came bundled in Final Cut Studio of which FCPs 5, 6 and 7 were part.
I don't think any music comes with FCP X, just sound effects.
However, if you go to HD>Library>Audio>Apple Loops>Apple you will find a number of folders of loops.
If you look in the iLife Sound Effects folder you will find another folder called Jingles which has some 200 pieces of music.

Any suggestions for editing Music Videos with Multiclip?

Hi there. I have been reading about the new multiclip feature in FCPHD5. Sounds as if it would be perfect for editing a performance music video with multiple run throughs. In fact it almost seems too good to be true. I was writing to ask if anyone has tried this and what problems they encoutnrered or what workflow they could recommend. I haven't used multiclip before (or editied many music videos either) and would appreciate any suggestions.
This is my idea so far.
capture offlineRT the whole tape, make subclips with an angle setting of each take. Then edit the multiclip in a timeline which includes the song as an audio track. I thought I would synch with inpoints manually set to the beginning of the songs first riff in playback (as there was no clapper on set that day, curse them)
I have questions about onlining as well and how to make it a less tormenting nerve racking experience. Maybe its just me but the thought of trashing all the media, duplicating projects and recapturing makes me break out in a cold sweat. But I'll deal with that later.

The plan was to sync up the mixed PT audio to the video track. However the club screwed up the recording and I was left with using the audio from one of the tripod mounted cameras that I placed a stereo mike on.< </div>
General advice for live performances:
1. Depending on a computer to make the only recording is a silly idea. Use tape or a minidisk. Take a line feed off the main board and record it on at least one of the cameras.
2. There is nothing that will substitute for missing timecode better than a good countdown. Insist the band develop a creative visual and aural timing cue that all cameras and mics can see.
3. The most important part of shooting a performance or a lipsync gig for mulitcamera assembly is preproduction. The bugs, glitches and gotchas are all well known and thoroughly documented on thousands of band blogs.
4. There is no excuse to go into a location shoot unprepared and carrying a solid backup plan for all of the stuff that will go wrong.
5. A full, all-camera, all-personnel rehearsal is a good idea.
6. The band's lighting guy knows nothing about video. Give him some help or give him the day off.

What is the quickest way to share music library with a PC. It is an authorized computer but I cant figure out how to get the music on to the other computer.

Yes you can. Go to System prefs>sharing>internet
Click on share your connection from and change it to airport if it is not already.
Check off the type of connection you are going to use (firewire/ethernet) and then click start.
Plug in your pc to the ethernet port with your crossover cable
Make sure your firewalls are off. (pc and mac)
You should be able to share. As far as the settings for the pc are concerned I have no idea. Yoou Should just be able to make a new connection using DCHP

Music player with high dpi support?

I usually use Clementine as music player. Unfortunately, it does not have any hidpi support (3200x1800 resolution on a 13.3'' display). So do you know any good music player with hidpi support?

You could use MPD and either a terminal client, Qt5 client (Cantata), or a web client.
I just looked at the Arch Linux wiki page for HiDPI. The state of HiDPI in Linux is kind of a mess, isn't it.

At least Logic Pro 9 and Logic Pro X work correctly in Mountain Lion. Furthermore, Logic Pro X requires the latest OS X Mountain Lion version
