I get stuttering during Playback of .wav files in my PC music library. I am using X-Fi Elite Pro. This doesn't do it all of the time, only occasionally. @97.22.92.33

Make sure that all the little boxes (in the column at the left) have a check-mark in them.

  • Stuttering during playback in FCP and Quicktime

I just finished creating a 4 minute still/video project using FCP X.  When I play it back in Quicktime, it stutters during both the Ken Burns effect on still images and during video clip playback.  The stuttering is very noticeable in Quicktime, but I can still see it when I playback within FCP, although the stuttering is less pronounced.  Any suggestions for how to smooth out the playback?  Are there known issues with Ken Burns effect in FCP X?
Here is the info I got from the inspector when I had it open in Quicktime.

it seems more like a stopping and starting.  the video clips look great in fcp, but bad in quicktime.  ken burns on stills is not smooth in fcp, but looks much worse in quicktime.  any suggestions?

  • Timeline frequently stutters during playback after upgrade to Premiere Pro CC 2014?

I recently upgrade to Premiere Pro CC 2014 and I have noticed that my timeline playback frequently stutters on playback if I jump around in the timeline. Other times if I just hit play the sequence will start playing back fine but then it will start stuttering after a few shots? This never happened before. I'am playing back C100 AVCHD media using create sequence from clip option for my timeline settings. I recently upgraded to Yosemite OS on my mac pro and I have not noticed any improvement. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Harry
    My specs: Mac Pro 2009

    Memory  32 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 ECC
Graphics  NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 2048 MB
    Startup disk SSD

Thanks for the info Kevin. However on doing more probing into my problem I
realized the problem was being cause by my Kona LHi card. The Kona card has
started to whining sound, so I disconnected the card. When I went back in
Premiere Pro everything in the time line played back really fast with no
stuttering. The response time in the timeline is very fast. And I can jump
around the timeline with no problem. I will be getting my Kona Card looked
at by AJA, I'm sure there is a problem with card.
    Thanks

  • Music interrupted during playback in music app, iOS 7

    Hi everyone,
Since upgrading to iOS 7 on my iPhone 4S, when a track that is playing in the music app gets to within a few seconds of the end, the sound gets broken up. It's exactly the same effect as what happens when you are listening to streaming audio online and the connection becomes weak. Repeated interruptions of a split-second each.
The music breaks up and sounds choppy for the final few seconds of the track. I never had any problem like this with iOS 6 for the past year and a half. Now it happens at least 25-30% of the time during music playback.
Almost all of my music is playing from iCloud, using iTunes Match, so this may have something to do with the fact that it is streaming. The problem happens regardless of whether I'm connected via 3G or Wi-Fi.
Has anyone else out there experienced this? Any suggestions?
If you haven't experienced this before I'll bet you can still imagine how frustrating it is. I was going to use the word annoying at first, but that's not nearly strong enough.
Maybe there is a related read on here that I just haven't been able to find yet.
Looking forward to resolving this, thanks!

Another related problem that happens in the music app with iOS 7 is "skipping". Just like a badly scratched vinyl record, the app will suddenly stop in the middle of a track and repeat the last second (approximately) of the track over and over and over again.
When this happens, it seems the only thing you can do is stop the track and start it again from the beginning, and hope that the skipping doesn't happen again.
I was curious who else is had this problem as well, and have you found a solution?

  • Hanging/Stuttering During Playback

Has anyone else experienced their iPod Classic hanging or stuttering: sometimes when my 160 GB black iPod Classis is playing a song, it will, out-of-the-blue, stop playing the song for about 3-6 sec, only the come back and resume playing where it had left off? It's as if I had paused the track for a few seconds, but I use it at work with the iPod just sitting on the table (no jogging or rough treatment that could have possibly accidentally bumped the pause button) and it will do this about 2 or 3 times a day.
I haven't found what makes it do this, so it would be hard for me to take it to the Apple Store and show them that it is happening. Just wondering if this is happening to others or if my iPod is defective...

    Hi.
Will you all try the following in iTunes.
    Edit>Preferances>Playback & Uncheck Crossfade.
    Then resync your iPod.
Give it a week and see if you notice any differance. It happened to me in iTunes but as I don't use the iPod much I can honestly say I hadn't noticed it happen there, But I went through every thing in Itunes until I cured it and haven't had the problem since. I got fed up with Ella Fitzgerald sounding like she was gargling.
Logicly speaking it had to be something we were doing to enhance the way the Music we listen to sound better.
So I switched everything off to do with sound and then switched them back on one by one. As soon as I turned Crossfade back on Ella had another gargle.
Feedback would be appreciated as regard the iPod doing the same.
    Thanks.

  • XPS 8700, Sound stuttering during playback

I have a new 2 month old Dell XPS 8700.  I notice the other day a sound problem that is strange to say the least. When I play back a .flac or .mp3 file, the sound stutters. It's like it comes out in pulses once a second. It's quite un-listenable. Not sure when this started. I'm running Windows 8.1 fully updated as of 2/6/2015. The problem shows up with Windows 8 music player, Windows Media Player, Windows Media Center and vlc. All show the exact same playback anomaly. It also happens when I use the same players to play an .avi or .mkv video. The sound is bad no matter which audio port I use. I also get the same artifact using USB Headphones with their own DAC. What is weird about this symptom is that if stream Pandora, Somafm, or watch a youtube video, I do NOT get this symptom. The audio is perfectly fine. I ran the  Dell PC Checkup and no problems are detected. Device Manager says all my drivers are up to date. Any ideas about what is going on and how to fix this?
    Thanks in advance.

I did.  I tried the update, but it failed because I already had the update.  I had installed it a few weeks ago when I was setting up the PC and downloading all the Windows, Office and Dell updates.
Ironies of ironies is that the failed update helped me resolve the problem.  I thought I would uninstall the Realtek drivers via Device Manager which I did.  But, before running the update again, I checked to see if the symptom was still present. The stuttering went away!  Problem solved.
It seems that this is working with an Invidia sound driver from what I can surmise from Device Manager. So, I'm just not going to install the Realtek driver unless there is a change in the symptom.  I'm beginning to think that it was the updating I did a few weeks ago that broke my sound!
    Thanks again for helping.

Are you sure your getting your sequence settings correct for the format of the media you're using?

  • Ipod touch 1st generation stutters during music playback

My ipod touch running 2.2.1 (5H11) which has always had updates etc kept up, has recently started stuttering during song playback. I have reset a couple of times and it plays fine for one song and starts all over again. Any thoughts?

I am continuing to have problems with getting my ipod touch restored. I am following the directions on the faq's but it seems that my touch continues to freeze up during the restoring nprocess. Itunes continues to sync, but the ipod screen remains unchanged.

  • Premiere Pro CC 2014 - Black flickering lines during playback and when exporting video

I am fairly new to Premiere and have recently started using creative cloud on my new MacBook Pro retina - 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - OSX Version 10.9.4
I shot a music video using my friends camera and all the shots were absolutely fine, I dropped them into Premiere and started editing the video together.
Some of the clips are perfectly fine during playback, although sometimes my playback stutters a little, but some of the clips have strange horizontal lines that flash through them when I watch it back. I have only used basic things such as the highlight/shadow and sharpen tools in Premiere. I thought that it maybe fine once I exported the video but when I open up the exported file on my desktop in Quicktime the little black flashes/glitches are still there in some of the shots.
Here is a screenshot you can see a line halfway between the top of my head and the top of the screen, when you watch the video there are lots of these flashing about.
Could this be something that I have set up wrong?
    CPU/GPU related?
    Thanks,
    Jordan

    Hi there,
    thanks for the reply!
GRAPHICS = NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MB
I tried that but it didn't work unfortunately, Mine was already set to the one you said, I tried the other but no change

  • Music Stutters

This seems to be happening since the last upgrade, but it could be from another reason. Music downloaded onto my Apple TV, especially Music Videos keep stuttering and freezing during playback. I also have trouble with pause/play, it just doesn't sometimes and the display freezes sometimes.
I never had this problem before so assumed the problem with the latest upgrade, but if anyone has had the same problem and can tell me differently, I would be happy to hear it.

not sure what size library Apple tests this stuff on but I refuse to except that 35,000 songs is to large! If I cannot stream, what is the point of wireless????
I think you're going to have to accept it as your own testing points towards the problem.
Send feedback to Apple though - they may be able to optimise code somewhat if they know there's an issue.
Streaming 1 of 20 or 1 of 100,000 files isn't the problem - it'll only stream one at a time and iTunes knows where it is - the problem is keeping and sorting all the data relating to each file sensibly in AppleTV RAM to allow rapid selection and navigation of a big list. It may well be the way it does it holds too much superfluous info for simple menu navigation, and it could hold a 'skinny' list in RAM smartly retrieving additional info only when needed, or resizing cover art for initial navigation display and showing quality images for selections.

  • IPod Nano 4G Skips During Playback with Apple Lossless Songs

My iPod Nano 4th Generation has been consistently skipping a brief portion of music about every 5th Apple Lossless song during playback. I've been working unsuccessfully to resolve this issue with tech support and fixed the problem when I disabled the energy level setting in the playback menu. While this is a hit to battery life, the skipping no longer occurs. Hoping that this issue is permanently resolved in an upcoming software update.

    Hi,
I brought my ipod yesterday and had the exact same issue. it would skip certain songs frequently and was extremely frustrating. Im not sure if this is the case for all ipods (i have an ipod nano 16Gb 4th gen, with firmware 1.0.4), but i fixed my issue in a series of steps. Im not sure which exact part of my method did the job, but here it is:
    1. plugged it into iTunes and clicked "restore" under the tab "summary". WARNING: This will delete everything, and restore factory settings. im not sure if this is necessary, but youll need to delete the songs which skip anyway.
    2. pressed the eject button IN ITUNES (under "devices", and next to your ipod icon), ejecting the ipod. wait for the ipod to specify when it is ready for it to be unplugged. proceed to unplug said ipod.
    3. Choose the language of your ipod, and go into playback settings and (settings/playback or something) and turn OFF "shake" and "energy saver"
    4. Plug your ipod into your computer again and drag all the songs onto your ipod using itunes.
    5. after it has finished copying, WAIT until the ipod no longer says "synching", and until it says "connected"
    6. Press the eject button IN ITUNES (again, under devices, and next to your ipod icon)
    7. Eject when the ipod says it is ok to do so.
As i said, im not sure which part of the method did it for me, but i think it might be the way in which i was ejecting it. Before i was ejecting the ipod on my desktop. I think it is important to eject it using itunes. Anyway this fixed my ipod. Im not sure if it will do the same to yours, but if its making you very angry (to say the least) like it made me, its worth a try i guess. I would appreciate it if people let me know if this works.

  • ITunes stops during playback and won't start until I restart the computer

I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I just reformated my computer and placed all the updates and programs back onto my computer. I had iTunes on my computer before and I reinstalled it then upgraded it to version 7.3.2.6. Now I've been reintroducing music back into the library on a folder by folder method (drag and drop). Anyway, during review of the songs I will get a random issue where the iTunes just stops during playback. I have shut down the program and restarted it. I've also shut down the following programs at different times to see if it would help:
iPodService, ITunes.exe (the program), iTunesHelper, and even taskmgr.exe. Nothing seems to help. When I restart the program I click on play (any song or playlist) and nothing happens. The only thing that I have found to help is rebooting my computer. Does anyone have any ideas?
I've check the event logs and nothing is showing in there and other programs are working without an issues.
    Please help!

Any suggestions on what this can be?
A dead battery.  Buy a new one.

  • TS5150 i'm having trouble with the sound during playback on my apple tv

theres no sound during playback on my apple tv

Welcome to the Apple Community mdez3799
Have you tried adjusting the "Audio Out" and the "Dolby Digital" settings in settings > audio and video? It may be worth trying several combinations of these settings, although typically it is the "Dolby Digital" setting that causes most problems for users.
If you are using a sound system/receiver, make sure that you have correctly mapped the input port on your sound system to the output, if you are unsure about how to do this, refer to the manual that came with your sound system.
Have you tried playing various content sources (i.e. podcasts, music, iTunes Store video, other video etc), do you have the same problem with all types of content? If you use optical you might also check that you can see a red light at the end of your optical audio cable. Is your optical audio cable plugged straight into your sound system, or does it go through a switch or other device?

  • Oprah podcasts still pause during playback

Quite a while ago I asked about the weird hesitation during playback of any of the Oprah podcasts, but, although several people reported having the same experience, no one had an answer.
Well....thought I'd bring the subject up again and see if there was any answer to why this is happening, and how to correct it.
Basically, after about 20 minutes into any of the podcasts offered by Oprah's soul series, my iPod will lock up and pause for a while. Nothing can force the iPod out of this mode while it's paused... you just have to wait until, whatever is happening, finishes. As the program progresses, these pauses occur more frequently and the duration of the pause increases as well (sometimes lasting for a minute or longer).
BTW, the podcasts play fine, without hesitations, on iTunes within any Mac...only when played thru an iPod does this occur.
Of course, all other music, and podcasts, play back normally, without pauses.

I've identified two different Oprah Podcast series, I assume you are referring to the *Oprah.com Spirit Channel* (also known as *Oprah's Soul Series* ) with episodes: Kathy Freston from 18th August and Rodger Kamenetz from 26th August, is that correct?
If so, I notice that there are audio-only Podcasts & video Podcasts, so we need to know which episode types are causing the problem, audio, video-small screen or video-large screen. I'm currently downloading (as I write) the episode *Rodger Kamenetz part 1 - small screen* as a test. Are you trying to play the large-screen versions of the videos on your iPod?
