Music suddenly not showing up in ipod touch

My ipod touch battery died and after I recharged it my music is not there.  I've tried re-synching and restoring and nothing is working.  Everything else on my ipod works except the music.  When I click on the icon it open to a blank screen.  Any help?

Try restoring to factory defaults/new iPod if you have not already. Then sync

  • Music is not transferring to old iPod Touch from iTunes.

Music is not transferring to old iPod Touch from iTunes.  iTunes recognizes the iPod.  I've gone to File>Devices>Sync and File>Devices>Transfer Purchases.  It shows that it is downloading, but once complete and I go back to check, still not there in either case.
Also, I updated my Windows XP laptop with the new iTunes 11, all the music is there from before and even added a couple more CDs (thought it was all on the laptop).  I turn the laptop off, come back next day, music is all gone and is now found in iCloud.  I didn't want it to be transferred to iCloud, but I must have missed a checked box or something.  Any idea on how to un-iCloud all of that music that should still be on my laptop?  Otherwise, how do I Home Share from iCloud (Windows XP) to iTunes on Windows 7?
As for Home Sharing, it's hit or miss.  I found where you are to hit the Alt button to access Home Sharing on my Windows 7 laptop, it worked 1 time and now I can't find the Home Sharing in the Playlist Section or Music, nothing.  Really?!?!  Come on Apple, can't you do better than that!  I'm getting really frustrated here!  It seems I can only Home Share to my Windows XP laptop, but not vice versa - XP to Windows 7.  Really?!?!
Anyone have any ideas on how I could possibly get this all to work?  Btw, isn't iCloud suppose to automatically download to your iPod anyway?  Well, it doesn't.
    Frustrated!

    Do they play in iTunes?
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    - Try unsyncing and resyning

  • I got a new laptop and now all my music will not sync to my iPod touch. How do i fix this??

My old latop crashed and now i am using a laptop from work. i signed into my apple account. I downloaded 4 cds to my iTunes, and restored and updated my iPod touch 3rd generation. i tried syncing all the music on my account to my iPod, and it will only sync 48 of 600 or so songs. The 48 songs are from the 4 CDs. How do I get all of my previous music which does show up into my iTunes music library to sync to my iPod. HELP

While that may work9I do not think it will) with iTunes purchased music it will not work for other music.
    - Transfer iTunes purchases by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
    - For other music you will need a third-party program like one of those discussed here.

  • Some music does not show up on ipod in itunes, but it is there...used twoPC

Hi, my main computer is a laptop. This is the one that is updated continually and has the latest software (XP/itunes)...I have another computer, it is the big one, with all the music on it for the most part, the laptop has the new stuff...anyway, getting ready for a trip and I had the bright idea (I say that sarcastically) to connect it to the outdated machine (it works fine) and use itunes to add in other music that my laptop does not have (due to a small hard drive 60 gigs only, vs 700 gigs on the big guy)...anyway, once I turn on the ipod, the music is not there in itunes, if I connect the ipod to the laptop the music is not there too, if I do a windows search on the ipod for the creation date, or the name of the group (in this case tainted love by soft cell) it is there, it is just not in the itunes listing/database/library. I suspect being that the two different versions of itunes are different, they do not work together. I should have thought of that before, but it is too late now....So what can I do, can I copy off all the music manually onto a portable drive, delete all the songs on the ipod manually, then reimport them to have the missing songs show up? Will this also copy off the album art? Or am I totally barking up the wrong tree?
I want to of course make this as easy as possible for myself, without issues to the ipod....I tried playing the song found via windows and it did play it on the laptop, but it did not come up on the ipod it came up in the regular library, and when I tried to copy it to the ipod it said there was a corrupt library or something along those lines...the pod works fine...
I have a 60 gig color video pod....this is my second one, and I have a 40 gig 3rd generation as well (not having problems)
    Thank you for any help...

try just pushing play instead of clicking the artist name and then choosing the song thats not there. With mine i would push play under coldplay and it would play 1 of 10 but if i clicked coldplay and tryed choosing the song i wanted to play there would only be 6 songs there. I think the problem is because not all my songs have an album name. so those songs that are blank under album don't show up. I really don't know what the real problem is here but i think thats how to fix it.

  • New music does not show up on ipod !

    PLEASE HELP!!!!!

What happens when you try to sync?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
Do the songs play in iTunes?

  • MUSIC WILL NOT SHOW UP IN IPOD ON IPHONE4

When I plug my iPhone4 into iTunes, it says the music is synced. But when I unplug it, the iPod in my iPhone says that there is no music. Help please, I've been very frustrated.
It does not automatically sync. Under the "music" tab, I have "sync selected playlists, artists, act".
and when you scroll down, I have all the music I want on my iphone, under "Manually added music".
I click sync and it says it did, and it says the space in my phone is taken up.
but it won't show up when I go to my ipod on my iphone.
    suggestions please?

i've had this, sometimes the music files become disaccociated with the music app
    plug in your iphone
when it shows up in the sidebar in itunes on your computer, expand using the little triangle, go to the music tab that shows up
delete all files there - this will clear those songs from the iphone (it may indicate it wants to sync once you do this, let it)
once the music is off your iphone, then make sure settings are correct for you to sync music (as if you didn't have any issues) and then sync the phone.
it will put the songs back on the phone, and the music app should recognize them.

  • Rented movie not showing up on iPod Touch's "videos"

I just rented my first movie on iTunes and went through the process of "moving" it to my iPod Touch 2G. In iTunes it shows that it is now on my iPod, and I can see that my video filespace has significantly increased since the transfer. However, on my iPod, under "videos" the movie does not show up. The only items listed are two TV episodes which I earlier purchased and transferred. I tried moving it back to my computer, and then moving it back again to my iPod, but no luck. Any thoughts on how to access my rented movie on my iPod?

I have the same exact issue. Rented a movie yesterday. itunes downloaded it. it was in my library. i moved it to the device. I synced. it shows it is taking up space on my ipod but I cannot find where I can play it. Even installed the new 2.2.1 software and that didnt affect this. how do I play what I rented?

I have an Ipod touch and recently added new music to my Itunes library. When I sync with the library, the new music does not show up on my ipod. The sync process seems to be working and there is still plenty of space on the Ipod for new music so I'm not sure what the problem is!

  • I just purchased a new ipod touch so now I have two. I do not want the second ipod touch to sync the same as the old ipod touch - 2 people with 2 different music preferences. How do I keep them separate.

I just purchased a new ipod touch so now I have two. I do not want the second ipod touch to sync the same as the old ipod touch - 2 people with 2 different music preferences. How do I keep them separate.

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Note if you have iOS devices and haven't moved your contacts and calendar items across then you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should  merge the existing data from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

It doesn't quite work that way. Transfer your music from the old computer to the new one. Then, sync the iPod.
