Music transfered from my Mac to PC don't play properly!

Heres my problem. I have many MP3 music files on both my Mac (G4 Cube), and my PC (which is a home built AMD 2600 Barton core and works just fine). I have iTunes installed on both.
I recently aquired about 90 old rock albums, and all are in perfect shape, from the late 60's to the early 80's. I've been bringing then into my "Cube" using a Technics turntable, hooked up through an external, USB powered sound card (iMic). Remember, the Cube doesn't have an internal sound card. I'm also using an internal DVD/CDRW drive which is installed into a external, USB 1.1, externally powered, drive encloser to burn them. (Note: This drive works fine, and I've burned other CD's that sound just great, using it.) I can bring these albums into my MAC system just fine using a MAC program called "Final Vinyl", edit them, and then install them into iTunes with no problems. Once they have been editted, I then convert them to MP3 (using iTunes). As I play them in iTunes on my MAC, they sound great. However, when I burn them to a CD and transfer them to my PC, using a CD that was burned using the MAC's iTunes' native burning, They sound terrible. I mean, after transfering them to my PC using the burned CD, (I've tried this using both MP3 and AIFF formats to do this) the sound is all muffled and is very heavily BASS'd. I can use the iTunes frequency "equalizer" to somewhat compensate for this heavy base, but this also makes the songs sound very "tinny" and not normal sounding.
Just as an added note: I have transfered many songs between the two computers using this method in the past, without any problems at all. But these were all songs loaded using regular CD's. These songs have no problems at all.
I'm wondering if it could have something to do with converting analog signals to digital, or if the turntable could be the problem. I'm reluctant to believe that, because when these "album songs" are played using the iTunes on my MAC (the machine I used to bring them) they sound just fine.
Has anyone run into this sort of problem before? Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated.

First, when you are going to turn off or restart your Mac, you will see a box called "Reopen windows when logging back in" in the shutdown or restart window. Untick this box and see if the App Store opens automatically in the next startup.
If it starts, open System Preferences > Users and Groups > Login Items, and see if the App Store shows up. If so, remove it from this list

  • Why if i want to listen to music and i'am not using headphones i don't hear the music coming from the mac

why if i want to listen to music and i'am not using headphones i don't hear the music coming from the mac?

that means that your mac still thinks the headphones are plugged in.  Try inserting and unplugging the headphones from the jack several times and see if it sets the toggle switch back.  If not, try sticking a toothpick or something sturdy and narrow in and see if you can manually flip the toggle switch.  That method is a last resort, you do not want to break anything off inside the headphone jack.

  • Help! I can't transfer music videos from my mac to my iPad.

Help! I cannot transfer music videos from my mac to my iPad. I simply want to transfer individual music videos from my Mac, but my iPad will not allow it. As soon as I check the box that says 'include music videos' my ipad says that I do not have enough space, which would be true if I wished to transfer all my videos. However, I only wish to transfer a few, something that I have done many times before. I then unchecked the 'include music videos' box, and of course, I could not transfer a single video, despite having plenty of free space. Please help!

All of my digital cameras seem to work OK with the iPad Camera Connection Kit, but I've read several similar reports here.  One thing to consider is whether your camera's battery is fully charged.  I doubt it matters, but might explain if it works sometimes and not others.
I suggest you use a camera card-to-USB adapter to do the transfers.  I've tried several that worked.  The ones that drew too much current were the "universal" types that have several different card slots.  A camera store should carry an adapter, and may let you try it.  The ones I tried that draw too much current, were bad even without a card connected.

Restore the device from the backup created.
If no backup exists, there is nothing to recover.

Did you not have a Time Machine backup of your Macbook Pro or a clone backup on an external HD?
To copy music from the iPhone to your Mac -- except purchases from the Apple Store -- you need third-party software.

    Hi
Thanks this has helped me solve the problem.
I used the Outlook Anywhere connectivity tester you suggested. Selected Outlook autodiscover.
It told me that it could not resolve things on any of the 4 tests.
I saw that using the last test "Attempting to contact the Autodiscover service using the DNS SRV redirect method", was the only one likely to work in my case.
I had already changed 3 entries in dns to point at my DDNS address but this had not worked, from the errors I could see that it was just the certificate name not matching so I changed the DNS entries for Autodiscover, autoconfig and _autodiscover._tcp
to be webmail.domain.com which is a CNAME to my ddns address for the broadband router, which in turn forwards ports 80 and 443 to the exchange server for owa and activesync access. I got an error message saying that I had an illegal entry in my SRV record
as a CNAME is not allowed, but it saved the change anyway.
I reran the test and it worked.I can now make new outlook clients attach teo exchange.
Thank you, after 8 hours yesterday of trying to reolve this I suddnely got it to work on one laptop but the other still would not and had lost track of what I could have changed so had no idea what actually made it work.
    Thank you for your suggestion.

  • Transfer my iTunes music library from a Mac (10.4) to a PC (Windows 2000)

Can I transfer my iTunes music library from a Mac (10.4) to a PC (Windows 2000) using a 5-gig jump drive (Sony)?

I might suggest opening up the jump drive (or My Documents if you still have all your music there), then opening the iTunes folder, then the iTunes Music folder, then selecting all the folders in there and dragging them into iTunes while its open and on your Library playlist. This should tell iTunes to rebuild its iTunes Library.itl file and all the files should appear in your library then. This doesn't make duplicate copies of anything - or at least it didn't on my laptop.
Problem with that is that I think you lose all your playlists, which you might not want. But if losing playlists is acceptable, then I think that will work for you.

  • Transferring iTunes music library from a mac to a PC

    Hi
Does anyone know how i can transfer all the songs on my mac iTunes to my new windows iTunes? I followed the instructions on the msn support website but these instructions must only be for transferring the iTunes library from a mac to a mac, or from a pc to another pc, and not from a mac to pc or vice versa.
I`ve just bought a laptop to take to university and i want to bring my music library with me.
When i loaded up my itunes from mac onto the pc it just keeps saying windows does not recognise the type of file. Is there a way of changing the settings so that windows will recognise and run a mac file?
If anyone knows that'd be of great help

The music files will transfer and play without a problem.
You will need to download a Windows version of iTunes and the iPod Updater in order to use the PC. The Mac versions will not work.
    iPod Updater
    iTunes Download Page
There may be some problem with the Windows version of iTunes reading the Mac's iTunes Library file. This may prevent you from completely moving over some of the music meta-data from the Mac to the PC.
There have been some posts on this, but I'll need to search for them.
Also see this for the transfer process: Buegie, "transfering music to another pc." #4, 11:22pm Oct 14, 2005 CDT
EDIT: Based on an old post I had copied into my "iPod Hints" file, here is how one contributer gave a high-level process:
i 1) copy the iTunes Music folder to your Windows machine, replacing the existing folder (back up the existing one first)
i 2) copy the iTunes Music Library.xml file to your Windows machine, and change the name to e.g. iTunesMac.xml so iTunes won't write over it.
i 3) delete any "iTunes Library.itl" file (back up the existing one)
i 4) run iTunes, and do File > Import... and pick iTunesMac.xml
    Hope this helps.

  • Problems playing music transfered from Mac iTunes ...

I can´t belive it - after using one hour to fickle with the phone, the media multimedia transfer and searching the nokia site for answers, I found out the music player will not play any of my imported songs, neither those imported from my old N86, nor from my mac.
The Adobe reader however, play them from the filedirectory, one by one. Really smart Nokia - thats how you win the fight with iPhone...not.

    Hey thomthom,
The N8 is compatible with the MP3, WMA, AAC, eAAC, eAAC+, AMR-NB, AMR-WB, E-AC-3 and AC-3 whilst the N86 only supports MP3, WMA, AAC, eAAC, eAAC+. What file formats were you trying to transfer and have you tried using Nokia Suite to do so?

  • When I open iTunes I can't see the music transferred from PC

I transferred my iTunes folder from PC to sd card to MAC computer following these steps: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527. The itunes library on my new Mac was completly empty so all I needed to do was dragged the empty folder to the desktop and my library from the sd card to the Music folder. I did this and I can see all the music is in the iTunes folder inside Music folder (on the Mac) but when I open iTunes I can't see any music. Itunes looks brand new. I don't want to click on "Find music files" because I tried that once and all the songs appeared on itunes but there were no playlists. I started the process all over so now I'm stuck with all the music in the folder but Itunes empty????

Thanks so much for your tip!!  I did that, but it says there's no files in the library.
Originaly in Itunes > preferences>advanced>under folder location I put in new path pointing to the Ex HD.  made a new folder for my son's library "Nick's Itunes Library". (Keep itunes media folder organized is checked).
    Clicked on change.
Then i was prompted ot move the exisiting files over which I did.  Went to File>Library>Organize Library>consolidate files>OK
I did all that.  I closed itunes, went to the external HD to verify all the files were there.  They were.  Went back into itunes on the mac mini HD and deleted the files one at a time.  I realize that this whole thing is not a deal breaker as it is all in iCloud.  And can be downloaded again if necessary.  But I want to know how to do this manually.
I just checked the external HD again. The files are there, Itunes isn't recognizing them is my guess.

  • Transferring from a Mac 10.2.8 iTunes 6 to WinXP iTunes 7

I need to transfer my Mac-formatted iPod from a Mac running OS 10.2.8 with iTunes 6 to WindowsXP with iTunes 7 as well as all my music and audiobooks from my Mac iTunes library to my PC.
All of the documentation I can find says that they both have to have iTunes 7, but the Mac does not meet the system requirements for iTunes 7.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can accomplish this? What steps must I take and in what order?
    Thanks for your help!
iPod mini Mac OS X (10.2.x) to WinXP Pro

OK first thing is, are all the songs that are on your iPod still in your iTunes library? And second, do you plan on still using the iPod with the Mac after you move everything to the Windows machine?
If all your songs are safe on the Mac, then what we want to do first is format the iPod in Windows format. Because, Windows can not read your Mac formatted iPod, but once in DOS format, both computers can read the iPod.
But I don't think we want to format the iPod with iTunes 7 because it may also update the firmware to where you can not read it on the Mac's iTunes. I am not sure of this, though. But if you don't need to use iTunes on the Mac anymore, I don't think it matters.
If you need to use the Mac iTunes still, Did your iPod mini come with a CD? If so, does the CD have both Windows and Mac stuff on it? If so, it likely has a restore/updater program on it for Windows. So insert the CD into the Windows machine and install the updater program. When done, plug your iPod into the Windows machine. Say no when it asks you if you want to change it to windows. Exit iTunes.
Now run the stand alone updater/restorer program. If it works correctly this should reformat the Mini to Windows format and put it back into the condition it was when you bought it. Eject it.
If on the other hand you don't need to use it on the Mac anymore for iTunes, then restore it with iTunes7 on the Windows machine. After it is done, enable Disk Mode on the iPod from the Summary page. Eject the iPod
Plug it into the Mac. Your Mac should now be able to read it. But you don't want to sync/update to it.
If we are keeping it Mac iTunes compatible then we want to put the iPod into disk mode (preferences -> iPod -> Enable Disk Mode). Exit iTunes. Otherwise you are already in disk mode.
iPod should be on the desktop. You can now drag and drop your iTunes stuff onto it...

How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer using iTunes7

assuming you have enough room. You may need to do it in several chunks. Eject the iPod, move it to the Windows machine, copy the iTunes stuff onto the Windows machine.
Once you get it all on there, eject the iPod. Open iTunes. Now if everything is back in the same folder structure, I think in order to keep playlists and stuff you want to Recreate our iTunes library. See these instructions...
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93313
If that doesn't work, then you can always simply do a File -> Add to Library and select the iTunes folder which will add everything but then you lose play counts, playlists, etc.
Disclaimer: I haven't actually done the process as outlined above, so I am making assumptions on how things work. The above may not be completely correct.
