Music/tv shows not authorizing ?

I have a problem which is frustrating  so perhaps someone may be able to help me.
I have recently re-installed all my iTunes library in 2 new macs.
27" iMac and 13" macbookpro.
About 75% of the music and tv shows bought in the iTunes store are working perfectly.
The others, although the files are threr, keep getting the message " this computer is not authorized " on each individual track or tv show episode.
The problem is both are authorized and no matter what I do I cannot play them.
Hopefully someone might have a suggestion for me.
Many thnaks.
Douglas

The default iPod sync setting for TV shows and podcasts is to sync unplayed files. You indicate that you have viewed them on computer already so as far as iTunes/iPod are concerned they have been played. YOu can reset played status using right click on the files individually or change the sync setting for iPod.

Please remove unwanted files from the memory card, then reboot the device and try playing songs from the music library. It happened to me sometime back, and after a reboot it automatically got fixed.
Also you could try to restore the device to factory settings,  and try performing a software update for the device.
NOTE: Kindly ensure that you take back up of the device completely before doing factory restore, or software update.

  • Music album shows not correctly

    Hi all
Since I updated my iphone5 and my ipad2 to IOS 7 I get a very strange problem regarding 1 music album. This album contains of 3 CDs with roughly 20 songs each. In my itunes I split them correctly and gave every album it's own name. CD1, CD2, CD3. In itunes these 3 CD are separted and shown as 3 diffrent albums, when i sync with my iphone it stays correct and I get 3 different albums in my iphone music library. When I sync the same 3 CDs with the ipad however all the songs get put into 1 album containing then 60 songs.
What I am doing wrong? Since it works on the iphone, I suggest it's a setting on the ipad? On the other hand, other albums with the same cirrcumstances it works fine.
    Any ideas are welcome.
    Thank you in advance.
    Daniel

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Go to Settings>General>Usage>Music and delete all music (dap edit in upter right and then delete)
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Not Authorized To Load Music Onto IPOD message

I just did an Erase and Install of Leopard. I had backed up all of my music to an external hard drive before. I drag and dropped all the itunes music and files back over to the computer again, started ITunes, and now it says I have tons of music I'm not Authorized to put on my Ipod.
I went into settings and Authorized my computer using my .mac account, and then iTunes downloaded like 200s songs.... but it stills says there's more songs I'm not authorized for. Any suggestions? I just want to have all the music I paid for, and I'm not really sure with the same computer it was on in the first place, is no longer authorized.

You cannot merge accounts, unfortunately. As for accessing the cox email account, you should still be able to use its login info even if you no longer have access to that address. Be it you cannot remember your password or whatever, you'll need to email the iTunes team:

  • Ever since updating to IOS5 my iPhone will no longer sync with my iTunes on my computer. It states that my computer is not authorized to sync with my iPhone yet it is authorized. My "Music" folder on my iPhone is now showing as completely empty.

Hey guys. Can you please help me? My iphone is not showing that I own ANY music anymore. It will not sync at all with my Itunes ever since downloading ios5. It states my computer is not authorized but it is...... I had no problems with my ipad, all of my music transferred just fine. I have no idea what to do now with my iphone except maybe a restore???
You all are much smarter than me. ;-) Can you help? Thank you.

Guys, I found another user and what he said to do worked!!! I have copied the information below:
This was 1 of the things that happend to me too, the other one was that at the bottom of the itunes page were it says all the memory info, it marked that I had over 3gb of other memory wich I didn't.
Anyways what I did was to unmark the calendar, contacts etc. ( so that they wont sync with the computer ), pressed apply,  then I marked all of them again, apply again and for last I pressed Sync wich is at the bottom right coner by the apply botton.
I'm not sure that had anything to do with it but it worked, my music appeard both of my itunes playlists and the ones I bought in itunes.  Also the other memory dissapeard and it's all good.
I'm not sure this will help you but thats my 5 cents, if the problem continues its better to call customer service and ask for a technician.
Hope your problem gets solved. Have a nice day.

  • Home share will let me copy music but when I try to copy TV shows it says my computer is not authorized!

We have had home share set up for some time and it works great for sharing music but when I try to copy TV shows into my Itunes library it says my computer is not authorized even though it will then let me copy music.  I have try to deauthorize and reauthorize my computer a few times and it does the same thing.  Really frustrated as my husband has bought a lot of stuff I would like to use also.
    THanks!

You are my hero thank you it worked!!!!!! I was afraid to deauthorize in case I lost everything but I figured I would follow your advice....Thank you so much

  • I just bought a Mac today and have never had one, my Itunes shows to have all of my music on it but it won't allow me to play it out loud, it says my computer is not authorized? what does this mean?

I'm a first time Mac user and I went to play my music on Itunes out loud and all the music I previously purchased will not play and then a pop up appears saying my computer is not authorized? what does this mean and how can I fix it?

You need to authorize the new computer that youre working with. First hover over the store button at the top of the screen and then select the authorize this computer button then a popup will appear where you have to put in your Apple ID and Password. Hopefully this works for you

  • I made the mistake of resetting my iPod to factory defaults. Now it will only partially sync to my music library. I continually get an error message saying that certain songs are not authorized for my computer. Any ideas?

I made the mistake of resetting my iPod to factory defaults. Now it will only partially sync to my music library. I continually get an error message saying that certain songs are not authorized for my computer, although they are in the iTunes library on the computer and will play. It's these songs that won't transfer to the iPod. I have deauthorized and re-authorized the computer but no joy. Any ideas?

    Hello there DesertRat71,
I was thinking that some of the songs in your library may have been purchased under a different apple id. You have already done the first thing I would have done by de authorizing and re authorizing. To verify this, highlight one of the songs that will not sync over and use File>Get Info. Here is the help menu link for it if you need it help://bookmark='https://help.apple.com/itunes/mac/11.0/help/index.html?localePa th=English.lproj#itns2937'
In the Summary section there will be an Apple ID entry. If it shows something different than what you are currently using then I recommend signing into the Apple ID it shows and authorizing the computer for that one as well.
    All the best,
    Sterling

  • IMovie says iTunes music not authorized, but iTunes says it is authorized

A problem has developed in iMovie where it is not recognizing my iTunes authorizations, despite the fact that the songs are authorized and they do play in iTunes.
I have purchased songs in iTunes, and iTunes will play them. But iMovie has stopped playing any iTunes purchased music, claiming that "This computer is not authorized to play....." and suggesting that I open iTunes to authorize.
I've tried deauthorizing my computer and then authorizing it again, and that has not improved the problem.
    I'm running:
    iTunes 7.3.1 - last updated 2007-07-14
    iMovie HD 6.0.3
    Quicktime 7.2
iMovie has always played these songs in the past, so I know that they can play. This problem seems to have appeared since the last iTunes update.
Mac Mini   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

I was born in Chicago. Maybe that's the
    problem?
    LOl! Probably!
To "authorize" playback requires an Internet
connection (now we know that, too).
That's why I asked about the Internet
    connection.
    Absolutely-I thought that was a good point-especially
    the wireless thing...
As a side note, why would a wireless versus hardwired internet connection matter? I know I'm connecting to the Internet. And I've even deauthorized my computer (and then none of my songs will play in iTunes) and then reauthorized it (and they play again in iTunes). But iMovie still says they're not authorized.
And, in case anyone was wondering, I only deauthorized/authorized my computer in iTunes after iMovie started showing these symptoms.
The problem started after the last iTunes upgrade.

  • Computer not authorized to play this music message

This problem has just started to occur. I get a message that says, "this computer is not authorized to play purchased music" when I try to do a slide show. I then authorize it, but I still can't get the music that I have purchased to play.

    riverhawk:
You'll have to go into iTunes and reauthorize those tracks you've purchased from the iTunes store. If you need more info on how, post your question in the iTunes forum.
    Do you Twango?

  • My computer is "not authorized" to download TV show to iPod, but is in fact authorized and syncs everything else.

I haven't purchased a TV show for a couple of iTunes updates and did so this morning. The episode plays on my Mac, but will noy sync to my iPod Touch. iTunes tells me the computer is not authorized. But the computer is authorized and syncs everything else.
Anybody have suggestions on how to fix this?
    Thanks,
    Mattadolphus

More users have reported this problem, but there does not seem to be an universal solution.
Browse or search these discussions to find some hints.
It works perfectly on my system (with iLife 5) and I have no problems with purchased music.
As a workaround you could burn your purchased music on an Audio CD (not MP3 or data) and re-import them.
Those re-imported tracks will play in QT and iDVD.

  • I purchased music on my computer with old email address, same computer new email address, but I get play music becasue it tells me computer not authorized...how do you authorize???

I purchased music on my computer with old email address, same computer new email address, but I get play music becasue it tells me computer not authorized...how do you authorize???

I have almost the exact same problem. I have a bunch of music, ringtones, TV shows, movies... stuff that I purchased that I can't authorize. All of these items were purchased with the same account I'm still using now. The difference is that I've changed my email address. I don't have the original email address from when I made those purchases and I'm unable to authorize them. I can see that when I view info on one of these purchases the "Account Name: " has my old email address... not my iTunes or Apple account. So, if I'm authorizing my iTunes using my new email none of these older purchases will work.
I'm really curious how to fix this. I've got quite a few purchases from years back that I'd like access to, but I can't authorize using my new email/iTunes or my old email (the one used for the original purchases).
Take a look at the info and tell me if you see "Account Name:" on one of your purchases. And is that associated to your old email address? There has to be a way to fix this or 'transfer' older purchases, especially if it's all under the same real 'account'.

On my iphone4s, music control do not show up on the music screen and the screen cannot be rotated.

Couple of clarifications, the rotation lock is not set. The controls are visible for video and other apps. Only the music screen does not rotate or show the controls.

Cyndi6858, help is here! We'd be happy to help figure this out. Just to be sure though, the Droid Maxx should not have an SD card. Is this the Droid Razr Maxx? How did you add the music to the device? Are you able to see the files and folders located on the SD card or device when plugged in?
