Music upstairs & downstairs at the same time?

hi,
my imac is upstairs hooked up to an amp and speakers.
my airport express is downstairs hooked up to an amp and speakers.
without buying another airport express unit, and using itunes, can i listen to music upstairs & downstairs at the same time?
my mac reseller says no.

AirPort Express Base Station (AX) - iTunes Setup
Either connect to the AX's wireless network or connect directly, using an Ethernet cable, to the Ethernet port of the AX, and then using the AirPort Utility in "Manual Setup" mode, make the following changes:
AirPort > Base Station
o Base Station Name: <rename or leave default>
o Base Station Password: <enter desired password>
o Verify Password: <re-enter desired password>
o Remember this password in my keychain: (optional)
o Set time automatically: (unchecked)
AirPort > Wireless
o Wireless Mode: Join a wireless network
o Network Name: <existing AEBSn's wireless network>
o Wireless Security: <select the encryption type of the existing wireless network>
o Wireless Password: <enter the existing wireless network password>
o Verify Password: <re-enter the existing wireless network password>
Music
o Enable AirTunes (checked)
o iTunes Speaker Name: <enter desired speaker name>
o iTunes Speaker Password: (optional)
o Verify Password: (optional)
o Click Update to write the new settings to the AX
In iTunes:
iTunes > Preferences... > Advanced > General
o Look for remote speakers connected with AirTunes (checked)

Playing Music and Video at the same time

I would like to play a song from my music collection and while it's playing, play a video that has no audio on it from the video collection. When I try to do this, one shuts the other off. I switched the behavior from default to showcase, still no luck. Is there perhaps an app available on the appstore that anybody knows of that can play an audio on loop and a video on loop at the same time?

i found a fix for WoW
Open the World of Warcraft folder on your hard drive (Default Folder: C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft).
- Open the *** folder.
- Open the Config.*** file using a text editor, like WordPad.
Add the following line to the list if it doesn't exist:
SET SoundOutputSystem "x"
Set "x" to be 1 first, if it still occurs bump it to 2 and so on up to 4.
you must restart WoW everytime you change the number.

Swf music files play at the same time.

I have several swf songs on my site but opened in a browser all of the songs automatically play at the same time. In properties, each song's auto and loop boxes are not selected. Any ideas?

Why not use an MP3 player that supports playlists?

Manually manage music and syncing at the same time.

As my music is growing larger, but my iPhone's memory isn't. I change to manually manage musics on the phone. When I change details of the song e.g. adding album artist or lyrics. iTunes doesn't sync it for me. Do I have to manually do this by myself like adding and deleting the old ones every time I make a change.
Another question is that, when I make a change to my playlist or making a new playlist on my laptop, there's nothing happening on my iPhone. Is there a way to make it automatically does that on my phone as well? Or do I have only one choice which is to go back to sync the library?

Just make the changes then add the song to the iPhone.
You don't need to first delete it from the iPhone.
FYI: You can autosync.
Create a playlist then sync only that playlist.
Add/delete from that playlist to change what is on the iPhone.
Any changes will get sync'd automatically.

When using a new pc, how do you download all of your music and playlists at the same time?

I bought a new pc, and I would like all of my itunes content on here. I seem to be able to only download one song at a time. How can I get my entire library on my new pc

Does anyone know if I can stream music to both AppleTV and Airport Express (speakers) at the same time?

yes - the built-in music app allows to select one speaker only at the same time.
now i've found the WHAALE Multiroom Player App (http://www.whaale.com) - and it sends directly from the iOS Device to my 6 AirPlay speakers. One of them is an Apple TV...
all "in sync" and without any special hardware and additional software.
And i am able to stream different songs to different rooms...
Just AirPlay speakers - wifi router - WHAALE -> that's easy :-)

As long as the profiles are different (ex. HID vs AD2P) you will not have any issues. But say if you try to use 2 keyboards at once, it won't work. Or 2 headsets at once. Your scenario seems fine.

Can I listen to music from my Apple TV to self - powered speakers and watch regular tv at the same time? I don't have a central receiver that splits everything, just the apple tv and the speakers.

Trying to play music from my apple tv directly to speakers and at the same time watch tv. Now I'm not that advanced at technology so I kinda need the easiest way to do this. Now I see that the Apple tv has an optical audio output. Can I set that optical out to self powered speakers and then have regular RCA cables set out from the tv to the same speakers and watch the tv on mute, unless I want to turn it up for a moment. Oh by the way, I do not have one of those centrAl hub receiver where all the speakers are plugged into and where you can set different inputs and outputs out of it. yes. u dont need the tv. turn it off.
1. direct connection (optical or stereo cables) to your amplifier
2. use mac to play to atv, or iphone/ipod touch to remote control the atv. (wifi)

All iTunes content on your iPod Touch should be in your iTunes library on your computer, and your iTunes library on your computer should be included with your computer's backup along with all other important data - stored on an external drive or some other external media used for backup purposes only.

How do i extend airplay to stream music at the same time to AEX and ATV2

I have a new ATV2 and an AEX, my macbook, 2 Ipod touches and an Ipad2.
I figured out how to setup my ATV2 and airplay through my macbook and my touches. My ATV2 is in my living room on a Yamaha 6.1 receiver with 2 channels. I have 6 speakers in my living room on channel A and a speaker in my bathroom on channel B.
So....I decided to grab an extra Bose speaker and bring it to my foyer/kitchen and hook it up to my AEX since i cant hear the music too well when im cooking or in my office from the speakers in the living room.
I setup the AEX to connect direct to the speaker. When Im on Itunes (either mac book or touch) i only get two options to airplay, AEX or ATV2.
My question: How do I extend airplay to stream music on BOTH AEX and ATV2 with the same music at the same time?

As you are already aware both the 802.11n AirPort Express Base Station (AXn) and ATV2 are AirPlay "speakers." When both devices are properly connected to your home's wireless or wired network, both should show up in iTunes as in your case. Also the iTunes AirPlay speaker selector should provide you with an option to choose multiple speakers. As a minimum, you should see: Computer, the AXn, the ATV2, and the Multiple Speakers options. Is this not the case?
