Music Video Download Stopped - Error 54?

Hey everybody!
I was just downloading a music album the other day when all of the sudden several music videos (yes, several, you already know which album I downloaded, right?) stopped downloading after a few kilobytes/megabytes. The rest of the album, including most of the videos, went through without a problem.
I keep getting the following message when hitting "check for available downloads": "There was a problem downloading XY. An unknown error occured (-54). Please check that the network connection is active and try again."
Now my network connection is more than active. I also tried to flush the download cache (itunes -> Downloads) but there is nothing in it. So I wonder where the files might be cached since each of the videos that won't download has already been downloaded partially. Is there any way to reset the download?
What do?

Howdy,
Sounds like your hard drive or partition is full!
Thanks
Tim

  • Music video keeps stopping on ipod touch

I recently purchased the 'Out of the Game' music video for my 2nd generation ipod touch. It's the first music video I've purchased. I went to play it last night and it kept stopping at 17 seconds every time! The bar up top would continue to move, increasing the video time but there would be no music and the picture was frozen! Has this ever happened to anyone else? What can I do to fix it? Thanks

    - A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - If you are in a country that allow redownloading, delete hte video and redownload it by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    - Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod

  • Why does you tube prevent music video downloads?

I have figured out that music companies do not want you tube users to download videos to their hard drives or jump drives. Well, I want to. All the other videos work fine. I am using Firefox 18.0 with video download helper, and every time I download a music video, it says zero bytes. Zero byte download files, zero byte music video file. So I found the workaround to this problem to be save vid dot com, where I can enter the url to the music video I want to download and save it to my disk. Why does Firefox not allow this. Why does you tube not allow this. Money must be involved. Like I said, there must be some stupid reason why they don't want us to download their music videos. What's their problem. I just want to watch the video when I am offline, and save vid has saved me from getting angry again.
All the other videos that do not have major sponsors download just fine, and it's sad that we have to find workarounds to stupid problems. Save vid allows you to save the you tube video without loading a spybot plugin that changes your home page and peppers you with ads, I'm glad they have it. I hope to save someone else the trouble.

Actually, it is keep vid dot come, not save vid that i used, but both are legit websites that allow you to download videos from anywhere without a lot of hassle or unsafe plugins. Sorry about any confusion.

  • Help my cuz's music video downloaded but.......

my cousin has a problem with his downloaded music video, it wont play in itunes and says it cannot go on his ipod even tho it is the video ipod. any ideas as to why? his laptop is a mac...

    Hi, Katy,
Sorry, but it's really difficult to offer suggestions when we know nothing about your cousin's system. It would be best if he posted here himself so we can get information, ask questions, and make suggestions directly to him.
If that's not possible, then we need you to find out from him his exact Mac model including its specs (RAM, processor speed), the version of Mac OS he's running, and the version of iTunes and QuickTime. Then we'd have something on which to base suggestions.
    Regards.

  • Can't find music videos downloaded from iTunes on my iPod

Any ideas as to why I can't find the music videos I've downloaded from iTunes on my iPod?

I am currently using iTunes 7.5. I've made some music video on my own, I have converted the .dv format into .mp4 format. I first import the .mp4 files into the Movie library. But I cannot put these clips in the music video playlist the clips in the movie library. I then tried to import these clips again to the Music library. Nothing happened. I tried to copy the clips from the movie library and paste to the Music library, I could do the cut, but when I selected the music library, the paste command was gray out.
    What did I do wrong?

  • YouTube Music Videos - Blank - Loading - Errors out until you refresh

I've been having issues with music videos on YouTube with the latest version of Firefox. I would go to YouTube then browse the music and then select a video and it would play through the advertisement then video would be blank while trying to load then error. However if I refresh the page it works. This is quite annoying. Any other video plays without receiving this issue/error. It only seems to be Music Videos from what I have seen so far.
If I switch to any other browser this issue doesn't occur.
I have also asked my friend if his does the same thing and he also Firefox and what do you know same thing, different ISP, also only has this issue with the browser Firefox.
I hope the Firefox team could find the issue and release a fix with their next update.
    Thanks.

  • Why has youtube video downloading stopped working?

Until a few days ago, I was able to play and download videos from YouTube. Then, for reasons inexplicable and confounding, they have stopped downloading altogether. My software program for downloading is Speedbit's Video Downloader which works just fine elsewhere. So what has caused the problem with YouTube?

  • Download stopped error 8012

I am unbale to down load any purchased content to my Imac or Ipad every time I get stopped error 8012.  I can access the Itunes store and purchase items.
    Please help

That's either a network problem or a problem with your iTunes account. Try from a different network, if possible. If you connect through a proxy, disable it.

  • Music Videos: Non stop playback... how?

    Hello.
I have some music videos in mp4 format.
How can i make my atv play them one after the other , like the music files, without manually pressing play each time a video ends?

Annoyingly you can't - many have requested this but it can't be done currently, and there are no known workarounds (eg playlists).

  • Movie Download stopped (error=8008)

    It says file is corrupted

I am going through the same thing with two downloads. I opened a support ticket with support. They placed a new copy of each show for me to download and once again, got the same error. I bought 6 seasons of Psych over the weekend and all downloaded perfectly except these two episodes.
Years of buying TV shows and I never had trouble till now. The troubleshooting page wasn't helpful.

  • Download stopped error 8008

Purchased HD movie from iTunes Store. Keeps hanging up during download. Tried multiple downloads and single downloads with two movies, one rented, one purchased. Neither download finished. Any suggestions?

  • Video Download Stops

Unable to download remainder of video purchases. First of five titles downloads (very slowly) then iTunes (6.01) makes no download progress within the next hour+.
iTunes does not appear to hang but quitting and re-starting does not correct the download problem.
Not an encouraging introduction to videos on the iPod!
    Any advice?

I think the problem is the store is swamped with to many people downloading videos/songs. Because last week before they announced SNL I downloaded a few episodes of Dragnet and Hitchcock, and they downloaded a lot faster than what the store was like last night. It was SLOW. And I must say I kind of blame myself too for still using pony express (Dial-up) But Apple should get more modems or servers or something.
