Music Video shot on iPhone4
Hello,
I really hope you all do not mind me posting this on here. My students wanted to do a "lip dub" video, those of you that do not know what a "lip dub" video is, basically it is a music video done in one complete take. The idea came to me that we should shoot the whole video on an iPhone to show off the capabilities of the HD video camera. We had a blast shooting this video and I believe it came out pretty good. The opening cut scene was shot on a Canon HD camera. As soon as the music kicks in the rest of the video was shot in one take on an iPhone4. I hope you enjoy it:

Audio synch drifting in music video
Hello-
I just sat down this morning to begin editing a music video shot in DVCPRO HD @ 24fps. The video is performance-based, and, at the shoot, the artists played along to the song from their album (the song was played from a CD and run through a PA) so that all the footage could be synched up to the track in editing.
However, when I lay the audio track down with a take from the shoot, the audio track (imported from their album and converted into AIFF format) gradually loses synch with the video. I've edited several music videos using this same format (the same cameras, even) and have never encountered this problem. The audio settings for the captured video and the audio from the CD match (48khz, 16 bit).
Any ideas?
Thanks.the issue was that the synch track was played from a CD (on an older cd player, which may or may not have contributed to the problem). The track from the cd fell out of synch with the AIFF as the song progressed, I assume due to the fact that the CD is physically spinning, creating a variable on how fast the data can be read from it (even though there was no discernible difference in speed to my ears or to the artists who wrote and recorded the song) . So, I ended up running that same CD player into my computer and importing the track from the player in real time, which synced up perfectly.

How do I retrieve videos shot on my iPhone4 lost after a synch to PC?
I have lost videos shot on a European trip on my wife's iPhone4 after a synch to her PC laptop running Windows Vista. With this setup, when I synch the iPhone it downloads photos shot on phone to Adobe Photoshop Elements v5.0. Photos appear in a new folder by date, no problem. BUT, the videos that were shot on the iPhone do not appear in the Adobe program. After synch, photos are left on the phone. But the videos shot on our trip appear to be gone!
I synched again with iPhone, and still cannot find them. I can't find them in iTunes, or in a folder on the PC. Now I look in Apple Support info, and find that iTunes only keeps ONE backup of iPhone, and fear that I cannot get the videos back from the first synch. Any ideas on where I might retrieve them??
Also have an iPhone 3GS which I synch to my Mac (no problems there-I don't shoot videos). Have upgraded both iPhones to latest software/firmware, and am using latest version of iTunes. Only software that is legacy is the PC version of Adobe Photoshop Elements (v5.0). Later synched her iPhone4 to my Mac (see below) and still cannot find the missing videos from the iPhone. These are videos she shot in several European countries, and are irreplaceable. Please help me salvage her videos so we can celebrate our 26th Anniversary next month (she is not very happy right now)!Photos/videos in the Camera Roll are not synced. Photos/videos in the Camera Roll are not touched with the iTunes sync process. Photos/videos in the Camera Roll can be imported by your computer which is not handled by iTunes. Most importing software includes an option to delete the photos/videos from the Camera Roll after the import process is complete. If is my understanding that some Windows import software supports importing photos from the Camera Roll, but not videos. Regardless, the import software should not delete the photos/videos from the Camera Roll unless you set the app to do so.
Photos/videos in the Camera Roll are included with your iPhone's backup. If you synced your iPhone with iTunes before the videos on the Camera Roll went missing and you haven't synced your iPhone with iTunes since they went missing, you can try restoring the iPhone with iTunes from the iPhone's backup. Don't sync the iPhone with iTunes again and decline the prompt to update the iPhone's backup after selecting Restore. -
Editing my cover music video in this fashion with about four/five shots on screen?

Hi everyone, I am a musician using Premiere Pro CS5.5 wanting to edit my cover music video in a fashion like the video posted above. The entire video has a white border, and each shot has its own border as well. Also, the shots change very often, and so does the structure of the borders and shots. I have been trying to figure out how to edit in this way, and I can't really figure out a way to do it all, yet alone efficiently since every shot must sync with the recorded audio.
Could someone help describe to me the process of doing this in an efficient manner in CS 5.5? Any help is much appreciated.

In the Quicktime 7 A/V controls, how fast is the 2x playback really because it isnt twice as fast. I shot a music video on the 2x setting and when we slowed the footage down to half time, it did not line up.

Can't sync apps, music or videos on my iPhone4 with iTunes 10.2.2
I just updated iTunes to 10.2.2 (on 10.2.1 everything was going smoothly) and now it seems that i can't sync anything to my iPhone 4 (fw 4.3.2). I'm using a Windows 7 32-bit OS.
After selecting any app from the apps tab, iTunes will display the next messages:
- It will sync the phone just after pressing the apply button;
- Prepairing to sync;
- Copying "Angry birds" (this lasts for like 1 second);
- Determining apps to sync;
- Finishing sync.
After this process, on my iPhone, there will not be any new apps installed or any other files (music, videos) copied.
Any ideeas why is this happening?Same Problem but with my iPod Touch 4th gen and that I can't sync my music. I tried re-installing itunes, Creating new playlists, added the music to the playlist then synced but it will not sync my music. I get 'determining tracks to sync' but skips to 'finishing sync'. I can take music off my iPod but can't add it. Fix this apple, this is very frustrating!

I have updated my iphone 4 with iOS 6, but now i am unable to transfer my music videos to iphone.I cant add a music video to itunes using 'add file to library' and then transfer it to my iphone. Am using itunes 10.7.
You need to update iTunes to 11.1 on your PC

Playing YouTube or iPod music videos no longer outputs audio to car stereo.
My car stereo is a Pioneer DEH2200ub
Since the 4.2.1 upgrade on my iPhone4 something has changed from <4.1
Previously, I could play a YouTube favorite, connect to my head unit, and it'd play just fine out my speakers and display the video.
Although now with the update, whenever I plug in my usb my iPhone stops playing the video on screen and gives me a message that says something like "This device is plugged into an external display" and shows the little TV out icon. At that point no audio comes out from the car stereo.
This also happens when trying to watch a music video in my actual iPod library.
Does anyone know the specific reason this is different now or a solution?60 views and nobody else has this issue?

ITunes won't sync some music videos to iPhone?
Hey gang-
I have lots of iTunes purchased music videos in iTunes that I also sync and enjoy on my iPhone 3gs. But I also have some music videos that I made myself from video I shot. They display and play fine in iTunes on my Mac.
But the weird thing is the ones I made will NOT sync to my iPhone. Now- I recall learning something about this a few years ago. I seem to recall iPod and iPhone are much more "fussy" than Desktop iTunes about what they consider to be a Music Video. Something to do with Metatags, but it was very specific about which ones?
Here's what I do know:
1) Both my types of music videos appear in the Music Videos Smart playlist in iTunes on my Mac.
2) When I Get Info, both types of Music Videos show Media Kind of "Music Video" on the Options tab.
3) Both play Audio and Video perfectly in iTunes on my Desktop Mac
4) But the ones I made will NOT sync to my iPhone, even though the playlist they are in is selected and "Include Music Videos" is selected in the iTunes Sync Music tab.
Can anyone remember what the "magic" is to getting iPhone to get on the same page with iTunes on Music Videos? Running iTunes 10.2.1 and Snow Leopard 10.6.6 and iOS 4.2.1 on iPhone 3gs

DustinMedlam, I have the same exact problem. I started using my Iphone 4S for shooting video about 2 months ago and tranferred them to my Windows machine with Windows 7. I use the clips in Sony Vegas pro 11 and make short movies. I upgraded to ios 6 last week and every video that I shoot with my iphone 4S now is not usable in Quictime or Sony Vegas???? My old videos from before ios 6 play just fine and I can use them in Sony Vegas with no problems. The only way to play the files is with Windows media player. this does me no good as I just began making short films and now I can not use any of the video I have shot since ios 6. I also have a Samsung Galaxy S2 and I shoot video with it and use the clips in Sony Vegas with no issues!?? I can not believe this is not BLOWING up on the internet like the WIFI issue is..... What do we do? All my video gear is for my Iphone not my galaxy S2. This is very annoying. I also notice that no one from Apple response to these support forums. So why are they available?? What a JOKE!

Music Video quality is poor - Apple TV
Does anyone know why the music videos purchased in the iTunes store are not HD or a higher resolution than what they are? I have an Apple TV in my home theater room with a 106 inch screen and the videos look like I am playing a VHS tape. I don't understand how I can watch HD movies and TV shows on my ATV but Music Videos look like crap! I have about 74 music videos too!

When I didn't have the means, I could still watch music videos in HD for freebs per your description. Now I'm able to buy them (and I want to), but as far as I can see the legit source is rubbish.

Getting music videos onto iPhone 4
I would like to play downloaded music videos through a home theatre product i have recently purchased and I've having a bit of trouble....
Firstly, i have never had problems playing 'normal' mp4 style videos which i have in iTunes, and have copied over to my iPhone 4- These can be found in the iPod mode under 'Videos' and play fine.
I tried to get music videos onto my phone directly from my mac- (these appear both in my music library in iTunes and in the 'Music Videos' Playlist), but when i try syncing it to my iPhone when its connected it appears to sync, but afterwards i cannot find it anywhere on the iPhone!
I though i had cracked it then, when i downloaded 3/4 music videos directly from the itunes store on my iPhone 4, as they downloaded with no problems, and suddenly appeared under a new category in the video option (in iPod mode on iPhone 4) labelled music videos. I was chuffed and this worked fine, until i synced with itunes on my mac again (for backup purposes) and it decided to get rid of them from my phone. Once more I'm back to square one, with the music videos on my Mac fine, but with no way of getting them back on my iPhone4. I'm sure I'm being an idiot and there is something simple I'm missing but i just cant work it out....
please please help!!!I am having the same issue. I have tried reinstalling itunes, I have wiped my phone and set it up again. I don't know what else to do.

hello...i've made a couple of music videos, and the latest one i did on Final Cut Pro HD, and it looks great..when viewed on my Imac screen.. when i burned it to dvd and stuck it on the TV however, it looked like ****. bleedy colours, dodgy frame rate, stuttery looking... whats wrong? anyone else had this problem? i dont know what could be the matter really.. it looks like an episode of trisha

i used idvd, as its the only thing i have to do it with..i'd usually capture the finished project to DV then watch it on tv, but i didnt have a tape deck this time, so i had to go straight to DVD... it looks fine in a low res box online, but not on a tv! anyway, it looks awful..all the fluid motion has gone, it looks like it was filmed on a bog standard video camera - it was done on a Sony DCR-PDX10P, which is what i shot this on: http://youtube.com/watch?v=9lcFNbA6VGY and it looks fine! the only thing i did differently was not putting it on DV then on DVD....
