  • Burning music videos to dvd-r

I just purchased the Linkin Park album, Road To Revolution, a live album. It has about 20 tracks and a "music video" of the whole concert. The video is 1 hour and 25 min long and almost 1 gigabyte. I have a 4 gb ipod nano, and the video doesnt fit on it. I wanted to try to burn the video on to a dvd-r so I could watch it on my tv, but i couldnt figure out how to burn it. I also tried putting it on my 1 gb flash drive, so I could watch it on my xbox 360, but it was slightly to big to fit on it.

Did you purchase this from iTunes? If so, you can only burn the video to a disk for back up purposes. You can't burn it to one that can be read by a standard DVD player. If you have a 4 gig nano, you should be able to put the video on it. You may just have to move some other things off for a while.

  • Uploading music videos from DVD

    Hi,
I've just ripped a DVD of music videos using Handbrake but it has extracted it as a full length feature rather than individual videos that I can then put into itunes so I can watch them seperately on my ipod.
Anyone know how I can get them individually? I also have Mac The Ripper but they uploaded in chapters and had no sound... What am I doing wrong?!
    Thanks in advance.

If you're not too oposed to spending $20, there is this really good program called Forty-Two VXPlus. It's easy to use and also you can rip your music video by chapter points. Also it doesn't care if it has CSS Encryption or Macrovision Encryption on the dvd, unlike Roxio Popcorn. They have a trial version that only rips 2 chapter points.

I am also having this problem. I bought the entire season of Grey's Anatomy and want to burn it on a DVD. I can not back up the file on my computer becaues I only have a cd burner and my computer would not recognize the DVD-RW when inserted as a data file. Is there a way to burn our purchased tv shows as a DVD?

  • Can't load music videos to itunes

Hello, i am new on this. My husband gave me an ipod and i will like to load it with music videos and dvds that i have at home. But when i try to open it with itunes it does not let me. What can i do?

Unfortunately, the process of getting video files and DVD's onto your computer, and then onto your iPod can be a tricky one, especially for someone new. I'm quite familiar with iTunes/iPods myself, and still haven't looked much into the process of putting certain videos onto the iPod.
Some people might say: "oh its easy" "you need such and such program", but there are a lot of settings for the video files that are specific to the iPod, and not everyone knows that. Without those "extra programs" however, theres no real way to get a non-compaitable video onto your iPod, it simply HAS to be that format, and you WILL need a program for doing that. So if you want to get DVDs on your computer, youll need to get your hands dirty with some programs and some tough processes to figure out, sometimes tricky especially when some methods of doing so may or may not be very legal.
Sadly, it's not as easy as putting the DVD in, and having it appear in iTunes to save for your iPod.
What I CAN say is if you want to purchase/rent music videos/movies from the iTunes store, that is the easiest way obviously because when downloaded, they are already in a ready-to-go format for your iPod. It's the best way to do it, but of course, will cost you per purchase.

  • How can I use a DVD of my band playing a song to create a Premiere 11 music video?

    Hi Everybody,
I've been making a couple of music videos on Adobe Premiere 11 by the usual way of loading in a music track and then adding photos and an occasional live video segment (with the sound of that video segment turned off). Now however, I have a DVD with both music and video of my band playing a song in a club. I'd like to load it into Premiere 11 so as to make it into a music video that also has a title screen at the beginning and one at the end (as I've done before on my other Premiere 11 music videos that I created). After, I'd plan on uploading the Premiere 11 music video to YouTube.
My question: What steps would I use to load the DVD of both live video and live music into Premiere 11, that's on my laptop, so as to make a music video out of it on my Adobe software?
I'd appreciate any feedback, especially since I'm kinda new at using Premiere 11.
    Thanks!

Based on your description initially or latest report, I am interpreting your description as an easy can do in Premiere Elements 11.
It would be good to know what is on the DVD disc (DVD-VIDEO format on DVD disc or some video files burned to the DVD disc as data disc).
But, either way, your answer to using the DVD disc content as source media in your Premiere Elements 11 project is as follows....
    1. Insert the DVD disc in the burner tray.
    2. Open Premiere Elements 11 to its Expert workspace.
    3. Go to Add Media/DVD camera or computer drive/Video Importer.
    4. In Video Importer, assure that the Source field at the top is targeted at your drive with the disc in it
    a. you should see your video files on the DVD....if DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc, then you need the check marks next to
VTS_01_1.VOB and so on in the series of that file, such as VTS_01_2.VOB, VTS_01_3.VOB. Each file, except maybe the
last one should have a file size of 0.99 GB. If instead someone has burned a bunch of video files (.mov, .mp4....) to a DVD disc
as data disc, then you will find a bunch of files .mov, mp4 to which you will apply a check mark.
    b. In the Video Importer dialog, have a check mark next to Add to Timeline, then hit Get Media which will put the file(s) in Project Assets and on the Timeline.
Please review and consider and then let us know if the above targeted what you asked.
    Thank you.

Add On...More details are relevant such as project preset - you setting it manually versus the project setting it automatically.
But, we will save that for next time if we are on the right track for your overall task.

  • Many CD's will include a DVD disc as well containing music videos.  Is there a way to import these video files into iTunes as well as the music files?

I have a number of music CD's that also include a DVD which has music videos or concert movies.  Is there a way to import these video files into iTunes as well?

  • Music videos from itunes onto dvd

How can i make a cd that will play my music videos so that i can play them on a dvd player instead of using my ipod?

Unfortunately, that is not possible, due to restrictions set by the movie right holders.
Any video purchased at the iTunes Store can only be burned to Data CD for backup.
You can read the 'fine print' in the iTunes Store - Terms of Service, chapter 9:
"You shall be entitled to export, burn (if applicable) or copy Products solely for personal, noncommercial use. You shall not be entitled to burn Video Products."

  • Burning music videos to CD or DVD

I downloaded some musich videos and planned to burn them to a CD or DVD so I can play them without hooking my computer up to my stereo system. Out of six I tried to burn I got an message saying I could not burn five of them. Don't remember exactly what the message said but got the idea it had to do with something encoded into the download.
Is there any way to get around this?
I read about not being able to burn movies but these are music videos not movies, or is the restriction the same?
    Thanks

Thanks...now I've got to figure out how to play them on a video projector and external sound system. I was trying to simplyfy the setup by eliminating the need for a computer.
As a follow up, can the plain vanilla iPod player be used to store and play music videos? Or is a higher end one needed?

  • Burning a DVD with m4v music videos purchased from iTunes

Instead of buying Apple TV, I would like to burn a DVD with my collection of music videos purchased on iTunes. Most of them are Protected MPEG-4 video files, having the extension .m4v
My question what I need to do to burn a DVD with these files, without loosing the quality and maintaining the video's aspect ratio? I don't mind to upgrade my iDVD programme to the version of 2008 and QuickTime to the version of Pro, if that will help to resolve my problem. Currently iDVD 6 does not support the protected m4v files, hence I can't burn them into a DVD for watching on TV screen. Your advice is highly appreciated.

This is from the Terms of Service page for iTunes. The bottom line is that you can't burn the videos to DVD.
    10. Purchase or Rental of Apple Content

Your use of the Products is conditioned upon your prior acceptance of the terms of this Agreement.
(I edited out the sections that do not pertain to your question.)

  • How do you import music videos from a dvd into iTunes?

I have got a music cd and includs a music dvd. I want the music videos to be imported into iTunes so I can watch them on my iPod touch. How do I do this?

I had a friend who got a dual-format music album on DVD of the band Chicago for his birthday. He didn't have a system that could play the remixed 5.1 surround sound version on the DVD, but he could play it back in his Mac OS X on the DVD player in good old stereo. However, he wanted a copy he could play in his car CD player.
So I used Audio Hijack to record the output of the DVD played back as stereo through the Apple DVD player in Mac OS X. I had Audio Hijacj write the output to the hard drive as AIFF 16-bit 44.1KHz stereo. Then I used iTunes to burn it to a CD.
Of course it took 45 minutes to make a recording from a 45-minute audio program; it happened in real-time.
(This was all perfectly legal because he owns the DVD and he's using the CD recording as a backup audio copy for his own personal use--basically like ripping a CD you own for use in your iPod).
I did an a/b comparison between the original DVD and the AIFF recording I had generated, and I was pleasantly surprised by its good quality.
Since then I've been an Audio Hijack fan.

  • Compose Audio Tracks for Full/Minus Vocal Music Video DVD

    Hi everyone.
I've recorded, mixed my song in Sonar, mastered the stereo audio file in Wavelab, edit video in Premiere CS4 for a dvd music video project. Anyone can help me how to compose the audio tracks so that finally listener can choose for full song or minus the main vocal with their remote controller.
Heard people telling about vocal on the right channel and music on left channel which will make the original stereo music mono. i'm trying to avoid this. any other way of doing that?...2 tracks together in a song, 1 full 1 without vocal? How do you do this?
    Thanks, all the best everyone.
    Mal

    Mal,
One can do this very easily in Encore. While it's more an Encore question, let me try to tackle it here.
DVD-Video and BD, allow for multiple Audio Streams. These are user selectable from either a Menu, or the Audio button on the remote.
What I would do would be to Export your Sequence in elemental/elementary streams, i.e. one Video-only and then, in your case, two Audio-only files. One will be the full-mix with vocals, and the other with just the instrumental. These files can be either Exported from PrPro, or from your audio-editing program. There is one warning, that I will give you later on.
Now, you have three files: Video-only (silent), and two versions of your Audio. Import the Video-only into Encore, as a Timeline. Import the two Audio-only files as Assets.
In the Project Panel in Encore, drag one of your Audio-only files to that Timeline, where it will be Audio Track 1. Drag the other to that same Timeline, where it will be Audio Track 2. Audio Track 1 will be the main Audio, so you get to choose which one you deem more important, or which you want to be the default. The other, Audio Track 2, will be the supplemental Audio.
I would use a Menu, that had Buttons for the User to choose which Audio version they wanted. One Button would be specifically linked to the Timeline with Audio Track 1 chosen, and the second to that same Timeline, but with Audio Track 2 specifically chosen (drop-down in Properties Panel for those Buttons, will let you choose this). Most remotes will allow the user to choose on the fly, with the Audio button, but I would still do this Menu. I do similar, when I have DD 5.1 SS on Audio Track 1, and the DTS encoded version on Audio Track 2.
Then, just set up your other Menus, as is required.
For more Encore-specific questions, here is the Encore Forum. Some of the same folk there, as here, but there are some different folk, who only post/read there. One, Neil Wilkes is a major music DVD/BD producer, and knows his way around music mixing and authoring.
Now, that one warning mentioned above. Both DVD-Video and BD are centered around Video. If you are Exporting from PrPro, make 100% certain that your Audio is EXACTLY the same Duration as your Video, or slightly shorter. I usually leave about 1-2 sec. of silent Audio. Even 1 Audio Unit more in the Audio file can be an issue. Exact, or slightly shorter for the Audio. This holds for Exporting from your Audio-editing program too. Just check that Duration very carefully.
Also, if you are doing DD 5.1 SS, you might want to make sure that you have 02 sec. of silence, before the first note in your Audio, to give a DVD player time to lock onto the signal. This is more likely to be needed with higher-end DVD players. I always begin my Video with 02 sec. of Black Video and end it with 02 sec. of Black Video. My Audio does not begin until the end of the first, and ends before the end of the latter.
Good luck, and hope that this helps,
    Hunt

  • My movies and music videos won't show up on screen, I can hear the sound but not see the video how do I fix this?

My movies and music videos won't show up on my computer screen, I can hear the sound but not see the video how do I fix this? I'm not sure what to do as far as turning my purchased movie into DVD goes either. I just want to put the movie onto a DVD disc but my itunes won't even show that I have a blank disc in the drive, I'm not sure what is wrong or how to fix this, any help at all would be much appreciated.

    Hi @anthony7722 ,
Thank you for your query, I will do my best to help!
I grasp that you uninstalled the Intel graphic driver and the catalyst control.  You reinstalled the Intel driver and now you can view and hear videos on the Internet but you are unable to set the resolution as high as previously.
When I checked the specifications for your notebook I see that you have switchable graphics.
Here are two links that I believe will help.
Overview of Switchable Graphics or Dual GPUs
Switchable Graphics on Notebooks Configured with Intel and ATI GPUs
Here is a link to HP Pavilion dv7-6150eb Entertainment Notebook PC Drivers
    Please try this process.
    1. Download the chipset driver, and both graphic drivers and save them  but do not install them yet
2, Delete the chipset driver and install the updated one.
    3. restart your notebook
4.Delete the Intel driver and install the updated one
    5. restart your notebook
    6. Delete the AMD driver and install the updated driver.
You should now have a Catalyst Control Center.
This should now allow you to use the higher graphic card which should support the higher resolution.
    I hope this helped.
