  • How do I get music videos, tv shows, and movies from my iTunes onto my iPod touch?

I just bought the 32 G iPod touch bc I read online that the 8G holds 2000 songs plus other stuff and the 32G holds 8000 songs plus more. I have 3000 songs on my iTunes and for some reason it said it won't hold more than 2600. Also I can't figure out to put the music videos, tv shows, and movies from my iTunes synced onto my iPod touch. Help?

The advertised number of songs an iPod can hold is based on set factors such as the encoding for each song and the length for each song.
Transferring movies is selected under the Movies tab for your iPod sync preferences with iTunes.
Transferring TV Shows is selected under the TV Shows tab for your iPod sync preferences with iTunes.
Include Music Videos is selected under the Music tab for your iPod sync preferences with iTunes.

  • Music videos & tv shows

I have been trying to sort my videos out on my touch. In itunes I sorted them all out and named them, clicked on the video tab in info and labelled them either 'music video' or 'tv show' (I don't have any films yet). My videos were then disappeared from the video page and the tv show reappeared in the tv show library as expected, the music videos went into the music library. This all looked fine displayed on my ipod in itunes. However when I looked on my ipod itself there were now videos whatsoever in the video page, and I couldn't find a folder for tv shows anywhere!! Where are my tv shows hidden??? If I redo the info on my ipod in itunes and label them all as movie videos they all appear in my video section on my ipod no problem. Can anyone explain?? I just wanted to keep them all in separate sections instead of a mishmash of different types of video content!

What version of itunes are you using, have you updated to the latest, 7.5? If so when you connect your ipod to the computer, and select the ipod from the right hand pane in itunes, the main window should change to show a overview of your ipod. Across the top of the overview pane there should be different tabs music/movies/tv shows etc. In the music tab make sure sync music videos is selected, under the tv show tab choose sync all tv shows. Also if you have itunes set to only sync checked items make sure that all of the videos and tv shows have the check mark next to them. Resync your ipod, and they should show up in the appropriate category under videos on your ipod. (The music videos will also show up in the music section of the ipod, but will only play the audio if you select them from there)

  • Music Video iPhone play problem

I have an mp4 that plays fine in iTunes, I can add it to my iPhone and play it as a Movie, but when I set the file to a Music Video it will not play. It opens the play screen then just quits back to my file list.

Also check to see that your silence switch isn't toggled on. The switch is located next to the volume up and down buttons on the left side of the device when you are looking at the display.
If you are using a case, the switch may be covered or difficult to access.
Toggle the switch and try to play music.

  • Hey Music Video And Song Problem

Hey I was wondering If there is an Option That I am missing or a bug but for my iPhone i have one playlist that has some songs and music videos combined in it. On my iPhone when i click on songs all of the music videos and songs come up but when play a music video i don't get the video and i just get the Sound. but in the video section i just get the Music Videos. is there a way to get rid of the music videos in the songs section.
    Thanks.

You would need to remove the music videos from the playlist in itunes and re-sync the iphone.
If that does not help, there is a checkbox, called include music videos, on the music tab in itunes, when the iphone is connected, that you can uncheck.

  • My music videos just show a bunch of  bright colors

I recently had some work done on my computer including cd/dvd writer, and I'm running XP. Anyways now my videos are coming up as a bunch of rainbow like colors. What's up with that, it's from the ones I purchased from itunes and the ones I didn't.

try working through the possibilities from the following document. (disabling Direct3D acceleration is often the step that works for folks with your symptoms.)

  • Movies, TV Shows, Music Videos from iCloud not showing up in Videos app

So I just did a reset on my iPhone because the movie artwork for the movie Love Actually was a picture of Adele's album artwork and it really bothered me. All the other movies in the Videos app was fine, they all matched to their respective titles. So I did a reset hoping that would fix that tiny minor issue but after doing the reset and restoring, None of the movies I've purchased in the past are showing up. All it says is "No Content. You can download videos from the iTunes Store." And I did go into the Videos settings to make sure "Show All Videos" is being set to on (green) but it still did nothing, none of my movies, tv shows, or music videos are showing up in the cloud. This really irritates me because I had one small issue that I was hoping to fix but now a new problem has risen and it's going to bug the **** out of me more than the original problem did. I tried turning it off and turining it back on, signing in and out of iTunes account, and pressing the power button and the home button at the same time, but still nothing from iCloud has appeared, Is anybody else having this issue? FYI, I also have the latest update 7.0.4 but I don't think that should have caused this issue. If anybody knows a solution, please let me know because as you can see, I'm very OCD about this, I like to see all my videos in the Videos app.

This was driving me nuts, but I figured it out. Here's how to fix:
    1) Create (or find) a thumbnail image that represents the series to you (I put text over a screenshot) in Photoshop or whatever you like to use, and put it on the clipboard
    2) In iTunes, select all the episodes from your series in the TV Shows view, right click, and select "Get Info"
    3) On the first tab ("Info") click in the artwork field, then paste in the thumbnail
    4) THIS IS THE KEY STEP - With your iPad plugged into your Mac, go to the TV shows tab and uncheck "Sync TV Shows" and then apply the new settings, and say okay when it tells you all your TV shows will be removed from your iPad
    5) After the sync is complete, check to make sure all your TV shows are gone (in the video app, there shouldn't even be a tab for TV Shows)
    6) In iTunes, check Sync TV Shows again, then apply
Once the sync is complete, your TV Shows will hopefully show up with good thumbnails.
The issue seems to be that once a file has been copied over, updating the thumbnail image in iTunes will NOT force an update on the iPad, and in the TV Shows view there are no captions on the main screen. You have to delete all the files to wipe the DB on the iPad.

  • Can't Remove Music Video from iPad

I have been searching the various forums and discussions and have not found a solution to this problem that worked. My daughter has an iPad which is registered under my name and is using my iTunes account. There are couple of music videos that I wish to remove from the iPad. I am running the latest iOS on the fourth generation iPad.
I manually deleted the videos from my iTunes and the iMac. In iTunes on my iMac,  I don't have the option for syncing music and videos selected. I already ran a iPad sync via iTunes hoping to would update and remove them.
The music videos still show up on the iPad. How do I delete them from there?

    Try this:
On your iPad go to Settings>General>Usage>Videos
If the video you want to remove is listed, swipe to the left on the video name to reveal the red Delete button. Press Delete.
    Hope this helps!!!!

  • Low audio levels on itunes purchased music video's

Can anyone tell me how to boost the audio levels on purchased itunes music video's ?
I have purchased a few videos lately from the itunes music store and occasionally I find the odd one which has very low audio levels. I assume that itunes has not monitored some video/audio files closely enough when importing them into the in tunes system itself and the audio levels have fallen a little low on certain tracks. Have a look at some of the Eurythmics songs - 'Angel', 'Missionary Man', or 'Best of You' by the Foo Fighters for example.I have boosted these tracks by 100% within the in itunes track options, but its still a very low level compared to some of the other tracks I have downloaded.
I tried to import one of these video files to Mpeg Stream Clip to see if I could use the audio boost function within that program but it didn't like the video file ? I presume because it was an itunes purchased video, therefore a protected file.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this or what setting I should be using, doing with Mpeg Streamclip to fix this problame if this program can fix this issue ?

yes i have exactly same problem. Was all working fine till I upgraded to iTunes v8.1.
TV shows, everything works fine... its just music videos dont show the video, no matter which setting I choose?
    Help please!!!

  • Music + Video Kind is not 'Music Video' incompatible in smart playlists

When iTunes introduced [Videos], they started showing up in my [Smart Playlists] used to maintain [Music] (too many to list). I was able to correct this by adding:
    [Playlist] is [Music]
    ...to all playlists.
However, [Music Videos] still show up in my music playlists. This is particularly a problem because, using [Rivet], every playlist that has any video of any kind gets added to the folder tree on [Xbox]>iTunes>Videos which clutters it significantly. I expected that:
    Match All
[Video Kind] is not [Music Video]
    [Playlist] is [Music]
    (and all other criteria)
...would fix this, but it doesn't; instead everything disappears-- I've tried the two in isolation too. I'm guessing as soon as you add [Video Kind] to a smart playlist, it dedicates that playlist to [Video] only making the criteria [Video Kind] is {...} AND [Playlist] is [Music] incompatible. However, in this case, these criteria should coexist IMO. Also, most of these playlists require "Match All" to be selected.
There are two workarounds if anyone has the same beef:
    1) Change all music videos' [Media Kind] to [Video], and just store them there. Not the ideal use of iTunes library system, but doable.
    2) Create another smart playlist called 'Music Videos' where [Video Kind] is [Music Video] and then add [Playlist] is not [Music Videos] to every music playlist.
Anyway, just thought I'd put it out there. Is the suggestion reasonable that these two criteria should be able to coexist? Am I using iTunes wrong or is there a better way to solve this problem?
Based on how I see it now, I hope someone at Apple will fix this. Add a [MEDIA Kind] criterion, ditch the [Video Kind] criterion, and make this aspect more intuitive (and consistent with the classification of library entries-- ie [Video Kind] doesn't exist anywhere in the scheme but [Media Kind] does). Either that or just make a way to choose an optional super criterion for every smart playlist's [Media Type], then we could use "Match All" vs "Match Any" much more effectively.
    Thanks for listenin.

Very cool- that worked, thank you! I didn't know that was even an option, and it must have popped up sometime after I bought my iPod Photo in 2005. And I would guess that the iPod Photo ignores that setting, since it worked just fine on that device, but nothing since then.
One question- I was able to bulk-edit my three Podcast groups by clicking on the group header and applying to all. But will each subsequent Podcast (I get at least 2 new ones each day) default back to Skip, and periodically I'll have to go back and re-edit the groups? Or since I edited at Group level, does iTunes make that setting sticky for that category?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

  • MP4's tagged as music video only play audio + static picture?

    Hi everyone,
Is it normal that MP4 files, that have been tagged as Music Video (Itunes Media Type), only show a static image on playback instead of a moving image.
I assumed that a music video would show the video too. Hence the tag name "Music VIDEO"
So at this point, I'm looking at a still image. Audio plays fine though.
    Thank you for your help,
    Jeroen

This same exact thing happened to me just recently. My videos played fine since I got my iPod in December and now they just play audio and are organized in with my "music" menu. I've looked around and a lot of people seem to have this happening to them also, but no one has had a real solution that I've found. I think it may have something to do with an iTunes update since the problem happened after I updated.

  • ITunes music videos in Vista 32-bit

I switched my iTunes library from a desktop to a laptop running Windows Vista 32-bit OS with iTunes 7.6.1.9, and I felt the easiest way would be to usde the Add Folder feature to move the entire iTunes music folder to the new library on my LAN. My problem has been, for the past few months, that my library no longer shows a music video section. All the videos I have bought are still in the music section of the library, and the videos play correctly, but I cannot watch them when exported to my iPod. I do not know if this is because of the newer version of iTunes, or because of how i transfered the files to the new computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That is not the problem. I have my videos section showing, and tv shows, and i have videos in both. however, my music videos only show up in the music section of the library. I can play the music videos on my computer and watch them, but when they are transferred to my iPod, there is no section for music videos. I can play them usic video file from the music section of the iPod, but it just plays the audio.

  • Transferring music video to another PC

I just read the post where you can't burn the music videos/tv shows to cd and was wondering if there is a way to transfer them to my laptop from the desktop to be "permanently" on the laptop, not just thru the shared folder on the network I have set up. If I take the laptop with me and want to watch them on it instead of the iPod (which will only be a rare occasion...I love my iPod)how can I get them on there permanently or do I just need to make sure I purchase and download them to the laptop.
    Hoep this makes sense.

I found the tutorial on copying music to a computer authorized for sharing on a network. Doesn't mention videos or tv shows so I'm assuming and hoping I can do the same with them to get them permanently on my laptop too?
It seems there's more answers to things here rather than the iTunes discussion board but if I should post this there I will. It just seems there soooo many knowledgeable people with the 5G and what can be done and not done.
    =)

  • Can't find downloaded music video on ipad

Bought a music video from iTunes store and downloaded it via wifi to iPad. Downloaded and processed but I can't find it. Looked in videos,iPod and did a search.ideas?
If not,is there anyway to check my purchase history?

Did you tap the "Music Videos" category at the top of the Videos page -- just under the time display? There are separate category buttons for each type video on your iPad, such as Movies, Music Videos, TV Shows, etc.

  • Missing Music and Music Videos...

I just had to replace my system HD last night. My entire itunes library is on an external HD. Once I got the new HD up and running and restored everything via my Time Machine back up, I noticed some of my purchased songs were gone and 3 recent Music Video purchases were also gone. I did a search for them all on my external drive and they were listed right there in my iTunes Music folder on that drive! Why are they not showing up when I open iTunes then? I had to manually drag the songs back over but I am having an issue getting the 3 music videos to show up. If I hook my iPod up will it delete them from my iPod?

...here I thought you had an answer to my post and you just asked a whole other question. Well to answer yours where is your music at currently? If you have your music backed up on CD's (should be like a XML file or something like that just open iTunes and click FILE then ADD TO LIBRARY or you can manually drag all your music over which would take forever.
