Music Videos for Ze

Where can I purchase music videos that are compatible with the Zen V

Hi Derrick!
Have you tried transferring the video to your library again (it could have been accidentally not selected right)?
Check to see if the file has been moved to a diffferent location on your computer.
Also, are you sure that the video is in the right format? Find the file on your computer, right click it, and click on "Properties".
Are you getting any error messages?
Also, if you're trying to transfer the video to your iPod (as opposed to just adding it to your iTunes library) and its not transferring, then be sure that the video is in either .M4V, .MP4, or .MOV format.

  • Preparing Music Video for Broadcast in Premiere and Encore?

I am trying to prepare a music video for broadcast in Premiere Pro. However, the specs require audio (Ch. 1-2 stereo, Ch. 3 mono Ch. 4 mono). I can't find a way to do this in Premiere Pro. I seem to be able to do this in Encore - I can create four audio tracks.
    Problems so far:
    1. I can only import the stereo wav file onto track 1, and have to import it again on track 2. The stereo mix isn't spread across both tracks Left/Right. Will the stereo mix appear on the correct tracks when delivered for broadcast?
    2. I need to export the video as an mpeg 2 on my hard drive - not actually burn to disc. Can I export an mpeg 2 video file without burning to disc?

I am delivering the master as an mpeg 2, uploaded by FTP.
    Here are the audio specs:
Stereo Left and Right audio signals must appear on channel 1 and 2 respectively
Dolby ProLogic matrixed audio (Lt /Rt) may be substituted for Stereo audio on channel 1 and 2 if desired
Monaural audio may be substituted for Stereo on channels 1 and 2, but must appear on both channels and must be in-phase.
Secondary Audio Program (SAP) if available, must appear on Channel 3, otherwise a mono mix of Channels 1 and 2 should appear on Channel 3.
Descriptive Video Service (DVS) audio, if available, must appear on Channel 3 if delivered in lieu of SAP audio
DVS must appear on Channel 4 if delivered in addition to SAP audio, otherwise a mono mix of channels 1 and 2 should appear on channel 4.
So basically, I need a Left and Right stereo on Ch. 1 and 2. And mono on 3 and 4, because I don't have SAP or DVS content.
I can create 4 audio tracks in Encore, then I import my stereo wav file and mono wav file. But when I drag the stereo wav file onto audio track 1, both channels of the stereo wav file are on track 1. I read in Encore's help files that (assuming this would be going to DVD and not an mpeg on my hard drive) only one audio track can play at a time. Each individual audio track appears to be stereo, but I don't know how they would each correspond with the requirement for Ch. 1 to be stereo left and Ch. 2 to be stereo right. As of right now, it appears that track 1 is both left and right, and I can import the same stereo wav file on track 2 seperately with both left and right audio.
The specs I'm trying to meet are Viacom/MTV which is a major outlet for music video content, so I'm assuming their requirements are reasonable enough.
As for making an MPEG2 from Encore without burning a disc, here is the format:
    Container: MXF OP1a (SMPTE 378M)
Resolution: 1920x1080i (interlaced) 16x9 aspect ratio
Encoding: MPEG2, High Profile@ High Level 4:2:2, 50Mbps Long GOP, CBR, 29.97 frames per second (59.94 fields per second)
Audio: Uncompressed 2-, 4-, 12- or 16-channel audio, 24bit @48khz, BWF (SMPTE 382M). All audio channels must be contained within 1 MXF track.
Not sure how to export from Encore - only options I am seeing involve burning to DVD or Blu-Ray.
I really appreciate your help thus far!

  • Encoding music video for Youtube - any advantage of using Pro (AME) over Elements?

I am in the process of encoding some music videos for youtube.  I'm currently using Steve Grisetti's suggested settings from mid-2011 here:  http://forums.adobe.com/thread/623549
What I'm wondering is if the Adobe Media Encoder provided with Premiere Pro (or another such program with more features than the Premiere Elements 7 encoder) would provide better results?   For example, I noticed those programs have options such as 256kbps audio, 2-pass, and Variable Bit Rate (which PE7 doesn't seem to have).  Would that provide better quality?  Of course, I need the very best audio possible.
Also, I've read from various other people's suggestions, that FLV is a better export choice than h264 since less recoding by Youtube is done- any truth to that?
Lastly, would exporting to 1080 instead of 720 (and therefore giving youtube users the option of choosing either 1080 or 720) be better for the long term, or is there any reason why 720 is suggested?
My videos are short and were edited from DVD vob files.  I've very new to encoding so really appreciate the suggestions!
    Thanks!

I doubt that even a discerning ear to tell the original source Audio, after YouTube gets through Transcoding it for display. Also, viewers will be listening through their computer's speakers, and not a full home theater setup, where the Bit-Rate might make a slight difference. Also, most folk today, think that MP3's through ear-buds are "high fidelity."
The only plus for using AME is that once you have queued the Project up, you can do other things, while it is processing the file.
    Good luck,

  • Please help me... music or play video, it pauses music/video for few seconds (2-7sec). kindly help what i need to do... will appreciate much...thank u  my MBP specs: 13 inch early 2011 2.3 ghz intel

please help me... im having troubles using itunes, When i start listening music or play video, it pauses music/video for few seconds (2-7sec).
kindly help what i need to do... will appreciate much...thank u
    my MBP specs:
    13 inch early 2011
    2.3 ghz intel core i5
    4 gb 1333 mhz ddr3
    mac os x lion 10.7.5 (11g63)
    itunes 10.7 (21)

    1. A 13" screen is awfully small to do any efficient editing. The 15" gives you significantly more on-screen real estate.
    2. All of the MacBook Pros can run FCE. However the graphics processor in the 13" model will limit some functionality with effects. See Tom's earlier comment.
    3. Not much difference. All these cpu's are fast. There will be more overall system performance gain from the quad core at the slower speed.
    4. FCE cannot use more than 4GB RAM anyway, so the 4GB that comes with every MBP is more than adequate. If you expect to use Aperture or CS5 then go for more RAM, otherwise there's not much reason to add RAM. You will be better off spending your money upgrading to the 7200rpm hard drive.
    5. Everything will be smaller on the high res screen; there are just more pixels (1680x1050) on the same 15.4" screen area. (I have a 15" MBP with the standard 1440x900 screen and it is beautiful.)

My sound keeps scrambling and blaring without warning before I either restart or stop music/videos for a while. It's without warning and happening on different programs. Is this happening to anyone else?
I thought about resetting the nvram/pram, but before I do that, I wanted to check here. It might not be the issue. My startup looks fine and the sound is great up until the discrete moment when it's suddenly scrambled and nonsense.

I did try a safe boot once before, which didn't stop the occurrences. I can try it again to make sure, and see if the problem stops happening.
Never installed extra audio or plug-ins, though.
It happened just once not long after I bought the mid-2013 MBA, which I think came with 10.8.4, but I assumed the noise was because I was moving the computer around on a surface that created static, since the noise stopped after I picked it up off the surface. However, that must have just been a coincidence, because it happens more frequently now without moving or touching anything.
Trying the safe-mode boot and restart, and testing it out for day or so to see if it happens again.

  • HELP!!! manually managaing music/video for IPOD classic PROBLEM

i set my ipod to manually manage music/video because i want to save space on my computer, etc.
so i made that my setting and i applied it and everything.
so i unchecked everything in my library. and when i add a song to my library, i check it, so it will be added to my ipod when i synch.
but when i synch, that particular song that i checked is not added to my ipod.
what is the problem with this?
    any help is much appreciated!
    thanks

I think you are confusing the two meaning of manual management.
When they asked and you said you would manually manage it, you told itunes not to copy things to your device because you planned to do it manually with the computers file browser.
If that is not what you want, and what it sounds like, you should allow itunes to manage the device, and then the check box thing you are trying to do should work for you.

  • Lip-Synced Music Videos for YouTube?

I have been creating music for 20 years (home studio), and would like to create videos for some of my original songs (currently on mp3 or wav files), then upload to YouTube.  I know virtually nothing about video or video editing.   I was wondering if Premiere Elements would be a good editing application for my purposes.  For each video, someone would film multiple video takes of me lip-syncing to a pre-recorded song.  Is Premiere Elements sophisticated or precise enough to allow excellent synchronization between separate video clips and an audio track for lip-syncing purposes?  Would you recommend something else (for PC)?  Thanks.
    Greg

    Greg,
The ONLY advantage to PrPro in your stated need, is to do the Audio editing in Audio Units, but then as you are working in Audio already, you probably have a favorite DAW, and that will give you even more control. That is NOT to say that PrPro does not have other pluses, but just not that would likely apply here. Hey, one's gotta' get something for the extra $600, right?
I'd get the trial of PrE 9.0, and test with it. There are a few limitations on certain formats, but it's pretty full-featured for a trial. Just know that it will place a watermark on the Exported/Shared footage, so you cannot deliver/upload that, and get clean, watermark-free footage.
Unless I missed something (I do most of my editing in PrPro, so do not put my PrE through all of its paces), the operations will be almost identical.
For syncing, just remember to work in Timeline View Mode (only way to work in PrPro), and turn Snap OFF (the S key togglesn Snap), otherwise, you will be trying to force little increments, and the Audio will jump about, and Snap onto cuts, etc. Just toggle it back on, when you go back to the Video editing, as it makes general alignment much easier.
If one is doing any Speed change, PrPro might be a bit easier, and offer more control, but not THAT much.
Now, if you do not have a DAW, that you love, then you might consider the CS5.5 Production Premium suite, with Audition included. One can easily do some pretty heavy-duty Audio work in that program. My workflow would be to edit the Video, and then Import the Audio and the Video into Audition, where I would tweak the Audio to perfectly (within that 1 Frame for Video), while watching the Video. Audition will offer the ability to work with Envelopes for the Audio, and adjust the Speed almost infinitely, while maintaining Pitch. However, that is not a cheap suite, and there will be a bit of a learning curve, if one has not used Audition, or a similar DAW before.
Good luck, and let us know how the PrE trial works out.

  • Requesting Music Videos for Download

    Hi All!
Does anyone know if there is a way to request for iTunes to get a particular music video? I am looking for a particular video by an artist and iTunes already has all of his other videos, just not this one.
    Thanks.

You can submit suggestions for the iTunes Store through the feedback page. Whether or not your suggestion will ever be acted upon will depend on a number of factors, some out of Apple's control (to start with, the artists and record companies have to be willing to license the video to Apple), so don't expect instant action.
    Regards.
Forum Tip: Since you're new here, you've probably not discovered the Search feature available on every Discussions page, but next time, it might save you time (and everyone else from having to answer the same question multiple times) if you search a couple of ways for a topic, both in the relevant forums, in the User Tips Library and in the Apple Knowledge Base before you post a question.

  • If you would buy a music video for a song, would you still purchase the audio only (.m4a) version?

I'm just asking for your opinions. For example, I would purchase the music video "Blown Away" by Carrie Underwood for $1.99. So, now that you have the music video, will you still purchase the same song (from the album, audio only) for $1.29?

No, just play the music video and close your eyes.

  • Converting flv to music video for iTunes

Not sure where to ask this... There are some music videos iTunes store does not carry but I found on youtube and have been able to d/l the flv to my computer... I was able to convert the flv to m4v with WinFF but they show up in the movie section of iTunes and not where the other music videos are... I'm obviously using the wrong conversion but don't know what would be correct - does anyone here know?
    Thanks,

HI, could you specify more clearly what kind of sound does it pick up?
Any AF noise will likely be picked up by the mic/audio recorder. Disable AF for serious video shooting if you can't place the mic far from the camera.
TIPS FOR AUDIO RECORDING WITH EXTERNAL DEVICE connected to the camera:
This is possible thanks to the latest firmware 2.x for the 7D that allows to select Manual Audio Gain control. It's also possible in every other camera with Manual Audio Gain like 5D2, 5D3, 60D, T3i, etc.
    - Disable Auto Gain Control. Select Manual Audio gain instead.
    - Move the gain slider all way to the left (to zero) and then move it only one click to the right (this will enable audio gain, but to its minimum)
    - Connect the mic/recording device to the camera via male to male stereo cable (usually shipped with the audio recorder) this way:  "Line Out/Headphones" (in the audio recorder) to the "Mic input" (in the camera).
    - Set the Audio Gain / Headphones Volume in the recorder (checking the audio levels on the LCD of your camera) to reach about -12db as average (with the sound source you will record). Avoid clipping audio, and setting it too low.
    - Using this method you will get audio on your footage with LOT better quality than using the buil-in mic of the camera and the audio will be already synchronized with the video.
    - If you want to record audio with the audio recorder, you can, so you will have a second audio file (called "double audio recording") of even much higher quality (if you set the recorder accordingly) that you can easily sync in post to replace the audio track recorded by the camera.
    NOTES & SUGGESTIONS:
    - If you use a mono Mic/Audio recorder, you will get mono audio in your footage (obviously)
    - Place  the external Mic/Audio recorder as near as possible to the sound source, and as far as possible from the camera. If you can't put the mic/audio recorder out of your rig, then put it as far as possible from the camera and lens (and not behind it). In this case the best position is in front but at a side.
    - Good Audio recorders that have extremely versatile features are Zoom H2n and Zoom H4n. You can record audio as mentioned above with both of them using just the buil-in mics of these recorders. Just be sure to adjust them right.
    - Always do some tests before shooting. Fixing bad audio is very difficult, sometimes more difficult than fixing video.
    - Always use some kind of wind screen over the mic/audio recorder, otherwise you'll get noise even from a slight breeze or when moving your camera setup.
    Hope this helps!
