MUSIC VIDEOS HAVE VANISHED!

Just upgraded to v7. Really like it, but the music videos I bought have gone. You'll also notice there is no option on the left to select 'videos'. I checked preferences, and it won't let you include videos either!
Apple, give us the videos back or let us re-download them at the higher resolution please.
Everyone else who has downloaded, are your videos missing (not tv shows)?
If you haven't downloaded, hold off!

I was going to post this earlier today and just got around to it... Now just a few corrections mind you, all your music videos ARE still there. In your post I gathered you felt that your videos had been deleted. All the has changed (and yes it bothers me to!) is a nice little pannel that seperates them out. If you search through your entire library you will find they are still there.
Another bothersome change is there is no dedicated music video area in the iTunes Music Store, opps I mean iTunes Store, anymore. I think this is Apple's attempt to make music videos and music seamless, but come now, I want them to be different and be able to easily browse through my materials!
Also, the new search bar in iTunes 6.5 (or was it 6.0.5, I don't remember, eitherway) is missing and has gone back to the older style. I liked the new style, what happened?
If anyone knows of any corrections, or ways to add music videos back, or the older search method, do tell.
In the mean time my work around is for one to make a Smart playlist and add the rule of "Video Kind" to "Music Video" and that can be your hopefully, temporary fix. That is if Apple isn't stubborn.

Music Videos - have sound but video does not play in windows 7

I have windows 7 and the latest version of Itunes.
Most everything seems to be working ok, but when i try to play a music video i get the sound ok, but the video never starts, it just seems to stay on the first screen shot and never changes, even when the next video starts.

Not sure why, assume you got the 32-bit version if that is what you run, and this is quicktime? maybe you need a different codec or application for the movie format; or didn't associate the file type...

Music Videos have disppeared from my Playlist on my iPod following an update

Following an update, my music videos no longer appear in my playlist on my iPod. They are there under Videos but they will only play one at a time there. The annoying thing is they still appear on my iTunes playlist on my laptop but they will not move over to my iPod. I have tried restoring and resyncing but nothing has worked. I have even checked that the videos are in the correct format even though I had no problems with adding them to my list in the past. In fact I had no problems with this until I downloaded the update and now I wish I hadn't. This is so frustrating. Can anyone please help?

Help! Converted music videos have no sound!

After converting a couple of music videos (using Advanced > Convert selection for iPod), I synched to my nano. The video played well on the nano but without sound. Played on iTunes, the converted videos are also without sound.
Can someone help me out here?

Hmmm...that's strange, I have no problems at all. I tried using the freebie version as I'm such a cheapskate and it worked perfectly except that every few seconds the words "Converted using an unregistered version" appeared over the video. This was so extremely annoying I promptly paid the US40 bucks for the registration. Now all my music videos work wonderfully.
Currently converting the Bruce Willis movie "Perfect Stranger" which I ripped from the DVD using the converter as well. I think paying 40 bucks is pretty steep especially since Apple should have packaged a workable converter but I must say that the AVS tools are pretty nifty.

Music videos have no sound

I am wanting to play music videos but they don't have any sound when they play. I convert a music vid for Ipod. But by doing so it nolonger has sound on either the ipod or itunes. Can anyone help?

Quicktime, Quicktime Pro and iTunes don't convert "muxed" ( muxed means multiplexed where the audio and video are stored on the same track) video files properly. It only plays the video and not the audio.

Do music videos HAVE to be listed under songs???

I don't like how music videos are listed under an artist's song list... It plays the music video in the small letterboxed format as if you were playing a song.
Is there a way so that music videos show up ONLY through the "Videos" menu on your iPod/iPhone, and not under song titles?

Hello there,
In order to move the music videos to the videos section, you will have to change the file's media type in iTunes. To do this, locate the music video in iTunes, right->click on it and choose "Get Info" from the Shortcut Menu. When the window pops up, head over to the Options tab. You will see a section labeled *Media Type* with a drop down list next to it. Go ahead and change it to "Video" and hit OK. Then sync the update changes to your iPod.

Multiple Versions of Music Video

Several music videos have multiple listings on the artist page. See Jessica Simpson and "A Public Affair" for an example. What is the difference? How can you decide which version to purchase?

Sometimes that just happens -- usually a mistake. They seem to be the same. You can always watch a preview to confirm.

Music & Video App Bugs in iOS 8

Probably mentioned before but it looks like the Music and Video Apps are suffering from a few bugs. These issues are identical on my iPhone 5s and my iPad Air after updating to iOS8.
Album art that previously appeared in front of a Playlist's title in the Music App has disappeared.
I'm seeing the same band listed twice in the Music App, under 'A' for the bands name and under 'T' for "the". The 'T' is following directly after the 'A', making it weirder.
In the Video App, some TV Show titles, and all Music Videos have lost their album art work. Oddly, the Movie titles seem unaffected.

This isn't a Music app issue, per se, but it is related, so I'll put it here.
On my iPhone 5s, the volume control on the lock screen is now very close to the transport control buttons, so much so that it can be almost impossible to adjust the volume without activating one of the transport buttons instead. This is especially frustrating when listening to iTunes Radio as I will frequently activate the Skip button, which not only skips the song, of course, but inadvertently reduces my skip count. Since nothing else seems to have changed in the lock screen's layout, this repositioning makes no sense.

ITunes update 8.1 has removed all my music videos

Since upgrading to iTunes 8.1 all my (iTunes)music videos have dissappeared, the audio file remains but no video! I have just downloaded a new music video and it is also missing. The update included Front Row which I don't use could this be the problem? Any help appreciated!

Thanks for that. The answer was really quite simple! For some reason with iTunes 8.1 it is necessary to turn of Airport Express speakers in order to watch music videos on the computer: before the videos played normally (without audio through AE speakers).

AHHH! Help with iTunes 8 Music Video sorting

I upgraded to the iTunes 8 today, and when I do the brand new search thingy with music, its all weird for just one artists
Ill go search by artist in my library, and when i for example click 'rihanna'
It shows all her music videos i have (which is like 5) under ONE album called "Unknown Album" where all my other artists music videos have seperate albums for each!

I hate this as well. There's no rhyme or reason as to when/why iTunes sometimes looks at the Album entry of the video's tag. For example, I have some videos with no album name listed in the Info-Album field and the video will show:
Song Name
Artist Name
(and will use a "poster frame", as QuickTime calls it, from the video itself)
But at other times, and the problem we're both frustrated at, when the Album info is blank iTunes will show:
Unknown Album
Artist Name
(and will use a poster frame from one of the many videos you may have by that artist. In your example pic, it looks like iTunes is using the poster frame for the "I Hate That I Love You" video by Rihanna...even though you have 5 different videos by her.)
The only fix I could find was to either:
1) enter the actual album name that the video is from (i.e. Good Girl Gone Bad) into the Info-Album field. Then, if you have a song file from the same artist/album (with the associated album artwork for that song) iTunes will use the album art for Cover Flow but will display the poster frame for the selection window in the lower left corner of iTunes.
2) enter the song's name with a period at the end (i.e. "I Hate That I Love You.") into the Info-album field. You'll see that the "Unknown Album" will disappear and will now show as such:
Song Name.
Artist Name
(will use the poster frame from the video for both Cover Flow and the selection window in the lower left)
You don't have to enter the song name with a period at the end, that's just the method I used. Realize though, iTunes will list whatever name you use for the album field of the video into the Album list of your iTunes/iPod library. (i.e. - you'd then have an album named I Hate That I Love You. showing under Albums).
I hope the advice wasn't too confusing. I wish iTunes wouldn't force you to enter an Album name for a video either.

Duplicate Music Videos

I was recently browsing the iTunes Store and noticed many music videos have duplicates.

Hi All,
After unchecking "Sync Music" and resyncing the device there are still some music and videos left over. If I click "Music" on the left under iPhone I have 41 items remaining, half videos half music.
I sync only certain playlist so all the music / Music videos I want will fit, was trying to remove it all and start fresh, but that is not working either.
On the phone when you click "playlist" there is the option for "Purchased" and it contains the 41 items, I deleted the playlist but the songs and music remain and don't see a way to delete items from phone directly.
Ideas?

I am back with an update. I turned off Match on both the ipad and the iphone 5. By doing so I was able to sync my Iphone and ipad to itunes and store the music on my devices rather than the slow streaming. So far this has fixed my problems with the iphone I have all my music, playlist, most of the album art and so on. But the ipad is a different story. I have the music and artist but not one playlist I am sure Apple will have an upgrade soon that will address these issues they are usually very good about this.
Now have any of you experienced another problem that has existed as long as I have used faces in Aperture.
I have over 200 faces and they are organized a-z problem is I have this going on A-Z folowed by a few that start over A-Z followed by another few A-Z and again a 4th time A-Z. Imagine how difficult it is while I am showing someone the great features of my iphone, ipad and imac. Which I do talk highly of all the time. But how do I explain that even though their name starts with a or b or what ever they are not important enough to me to be in the first list of A-Z or even the 2nd or 3rd list of A-Z someohow they are in the 4th section of the list!!!!
I have managed to get the Imac to fix this but for some reason the IOS devices do not. Any ideas?
