  • Home videos transfer to ipod with no sound

so i have a video camcorder and i made some home videos and they wouldn't copy to my ipod. so i went to my toolbar and it said convert selection for ipod or something along the lines of that and so i clicked that and a new window popped up under my devices section of my itunes tabs where the cds show up when i'm importing and it took about 2 minutes to convert. so i resynced my ipod and the video went on and so i went to watch it because i always double check these things to be sure and there's no sound to accompany the video. i guess it's not that big of a deal but it would be nice if i could find out what the problem is

QuickTime expects video files with separate video and audio tracks, but many MPEG formats used a muxed (multiplexed) single track that contains both. Therefore, iTunes & the iPod (both of which use QuickTime) only show the video and no sound.

One way to work around this is to use MPEG Streamclip to convert the files to fix this issue...

  • Music Videos - Play, but no sound. HELP?

I've converted the music videos for the ipod nano 3rd gen. and they play.. But with no sound on the ipod and in the library. When trying to play it in the library after converting, the little icon that shows a speaker doesn't have the 'sound waves' beside like it usually does.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I've looked through the forums for help and some people have suggested downloading something? I don't want to download random programs that I might not have to.
    Thanks

QuickTime expects video files with separate video and audio tracks, but many MPEG formats used a muxed (multiplexed) single track that contains both. Therefore, when you convert videos in iTunes to iPod format they only show the video and no sound since iTunes (really QuickTime) is not looking for the audio track within the video track and it gets lost.

but there are other applications besides MPEG Streamclip you can try as well.

  • Playing music videos messes up ipod app

After I play a music video in the ipod app, there's a glitch in the layout. Whenever I reopen the ipod app, the whole screen shifts up or down. Eventually, it freezes and I have to restart my iphone. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Are you running the latest version of iOS?
Does it happen with every video or just certain music videos? Does it happen with movies or tv shows?
Did the music video come from the iTunes store or from another source?

  • I spilled some pop on the back of my iPad. I cleaned it off and everything seems to be going good but when I play music it will either play with no sound or play then continue with no sound. What can I do to fix this (without being costly, it's a iPad 2)

What can I do to fix this (without being costly, it's a iPad 2) this happens with other music apps too. Please I need help!

You can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists. If it doesn't work, there isn;t much anyone here can do for you. It may be a physical problem with your speakers.

  • I bought a movie on iTunes but when I try to watch it plays back slowly with no sound.  Then the video will speed up and the sound will work for a moment then off again and back to slow motion.  I have a dell laptop running windows 7

  • Music Videos into Music Video menu on iPod

OK - so for years now I've been buying CD singles with the videos on, and spend many hours now converting them to iPod using QT Pro so I can finally watch them on my iPod. So converting to an MP4 using the H.264 codec took forever (at least 3 hours for a 4 min 320x196 video), so I opted for the standard MP4 as this is much quicker. Drop them into iTunes and YAY! I can sync them.
The music videos play flawlessly - I'm very happy with that aspect, but the bit that annoys me the most is why they don't show up under the Music Videos sub menu in Videos. Instead I have to go to Movies and then to a play list I created called Music Videos.
Perhaps its because of the genre? Well thats what I thought - as after looking at a friends music video he has bought from the iTMS, the only difference I can see is the genre. So I added Music Video to the genre and synced my iPod, expecting them to all of a sudden appear in that sub menu. But alas no.
So the question: is it possible to get home ripped/converted music videos from CDs or elsewhere onto the iPod to display in the Music Videos menu? If not WHY WHY WHY??!
    thanks in advance.
    pac

After you convert a video and put it into itunes it is defaulted to being a movie. But you can specify it as a music video. Select a music video within your itunes library. Select the info for that video. A seperate window appears. Go to the options window and winthin that area you can select what type of video that certain file is whether a movie or music vidoe. Select the proper video type and then that converted video will appear within the music video field on yoru itunes and ipod after syncing.

  • HT1349 can music video play on itunes

Can music video play in itunes?

The only time I had that problem was with a music file that was saved as a .WMA format. I don't suppose that is your problem since you purchased it from the iTunes store. How about dumping it (remove it from your iTunes and from your iTunes library folder - put it someplace else on your computer to save it just in case.) and trying to download it again - you are allowed to do that up to five times.

  • HT2729 my music videos on my ipod touch are cut off

when I play my music videos on my ipod touch, they are cut off in beggining or the middle.

On you iPod, force close all the Apps in the multitask window.
Follow these steps to force an app to close:
From the Home screen, click the Home button twice.
Tap and hold on the app.
When it starts to jiggle, tap the to close it one by one until all cleared
Now do a Soft reset of your iPod:
Hold both Home and Sleep button for around 10secs until you see the Apple logo then release. After it returns to Home screen, try your youtube and see if this resolves the issue.

  • Is it possible to transfer music between iPhones and iPods with out using iTunes

Is it possible to transfer music between iPhones and iPods with out using iTunes

Nope.  Both require iTunes on a computer to sync music from.
Unless the iPod is an iPod Touch and the music was bought from iTunes.  In which case the Touch can simply go to the iTunes App, under Purchased  and download the purchased songs for free.
