Music will cutout half way through song?

This has happened a number of times and on different songs. I'm just casually listening to music and it goes dead, I check to find out what happened and it says it's still playing with the volume still at the same place and the time tracker still moving at the top but it's just cut out 40 seconds towards the end of the song. I've let it play out and it's moved on to the next on with no problems. This only happens on a few of my songs and I've cross checked them on my MacBook and there's no problem, has anyone else had this or know how to solve?
Thanks

no the master volume curve is off and i have played each track as solo and they all go silent at 2:34
I hate to think but I m assuming when it got stuck opening that day it probably got to 2:34 and then when i forced quit it erased everything after
but the wave patterns are still there???
i have tried unlocking all the rtacks then relocking...but to no avail
grrrr...frustrating
(ironically the song itself is called "frustration"..maybe this is some divine sign)

  • My music quality drops half way through - wave file, is there a way to make an improvement

My music sound quality drops half way through - its a wave file, is there a way to make a the other half as good as the first half?

Firstly can you tell us what sort of drop in quality in you are experiencing? Is this music that you have recorded yourself using Audition or is it imported from somewhere else? Without knowing what has happened to it it is impossible to say if any improvement can be made.
If it is audio that you have recorded and edited in Audition you must have done something to it to make it change half way through. You will probably need to go back a few steps in your editing process to recover the sound.

  • Music sync stops half way through "not enough access privilege to complete"

syncing entire music library. it stops halfway through and i get and error message "Attempting to copy to the disk image X Iphone failed. You do not have enough access privilege for this operation"
i close that window and there is another error "iTunes could not copy "X Song" to X iPhone because an unknown error has occurred. (-5000)
Any ideas on how to get this rig running as advertised? Thanks

    Try to Reset the iPad:
From the Home screen double tap the Home button to view the multitasking bar at the bottom. Tap and hold an app at the bottom till the icons wiggle with the minus button visible. Tap the button to close all apps then tap the Home button to get back to the Home page. Press and hold the Sleep button till you see the Slide to power off message and power it off. Once powered down completely press and hold the sleep button till the Apple icon appears.

  • Tracks go silent half way through song?

okay I have quite an old MAC (450 mhz power PC G4 1.38 gb sdram)
so I know Im making it work like a tired mule when i use GB3 + Jam pack!
but what has happened here TWICE! is I will have a 13 track song (5 vocals, 1 guitar and the rest software instruments) and as i tinker with levels etc the end result is that at the exact same point on the timeline the tracks just go silent? the player head still moves along as if it is playing something...but no sound? where as they had previously been fine...so the data WAS there before?
to make the song play (in work mode) i have to lock each track...and every time I alter it i must unlock and then relock (which is very time consuming...but I realise I am trying to drive an old Morris Minor down the Auto bahn...so to speak!?)
so can anyone shed some light... is it just my computer not being able to cope with the workload? or have i lost all this work : (
one other point was when i tried to open the file and the program got stuck trying to open the file, so I had to Force quit...could i have deleted some of the data there?

  • Itunes purchased music cuts out half way through a song.

Hello. I recently purchased two albums off the Itunes store and found that in some tracks the music completely "cuts-out". About 30 seconds of the song plays, then the rest of the track is silent. It happens on both Itunes and on my Ipod. I haven't a clue what to do. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    It worked, Thanks!

  • Starts playing half way through songs

i know this is probably a very trivial problem but my i tunes has started playing songs from where i last listened to them.
for example if i play half of oasis songbird and skip to the next track, the next time i play songbird it starts from where i left off.
this is very annoying and i cant find any way of stopping it. ive tries closing and re opening and shutting down my pc but neither helps.
any ideas would be greatly appreciated

It sounds as though you have "remember playback position" checked in Get Info>>Options tab.
If you have this set in a lot of tracks, this check box is available if you use get info on a selection of multiple tracks.

  • Playlist skipping songs half way through song

My iPod (touch 8GB) started made a "blip" sound only a few seconds through a song today and skipped to the next. Same thing again, a blip sound and skip to the next song. The iPod was kept in my fleece jacket pocket. I took it out and held it in my hand and it seemed fine but when I put it back into the pocket, it started skipping songs again. Is it sensitive to being upside down or moved around or was it simply a matter of a button being touched inadvertently? Apologies for stupid questions, I was an iPod virgin up until Christmas Day

Done! Thank you so much for your reply

  • Ipod seems to be skip tracks half way through songs...!

whenever, i play songs (sometimes, but not all the time) i have the ipod playing and it's just sitting there, and when playing the song it suddenly skips it and goes to the next song. Is there any reason why this could be happening??could it be signs of wear and tear and that i should consider getting another ipod??
    please help!

  • Audio "glitches" half way through song

I am making a video with pictures and a background track. The track plays fine until two minutes into it. It still plays but seems to glitch and gets messed up, then goes back fine again. The video stays fine during the whole thing. Using an mp3 file right now, have tried aiff... The song plays fine in itunes with no glitches. Have tried re-importing, deleted preferences...

how much RAM do you have in the computer. it may be using all of it than just trying to cope with it all. just try playing from a min in and see if it keeps up in the same spot if not exprot and see if its still messing up.

  • Songs "skip" half-way through, or start half-way through

I have had my 3GS since the end of October. I just recently noticed that some songs will skip half-way through to the beginning of the next song, or when a song is over the next song will start half-way through or three-quarters of the way through. I then just tap on rewind and it will play the entire song from the beginning. I should mention that it's not always the same songs, and, I generally listen to the iPod in my car through an audio cable.
Is this a common issue? I've seen similar posts but not exactly like this (or I've simply missed them). Is there a fix?
I've just noticed that Shake to Shuffle is "on", so I'll try turning that off and see if that helps at all.

I have something similar and think I might know what is causing it but not how to fix it. I recently created a playlist in iTunes then copied to the iPod. While creating the playlist I listened to some of the songs for the first minute or so. Now I find that while playing the playlist on the iPod those songs that I previewed start from where I stopped listening to them in iTunes. If I go back into iTunes and play those songs again they do the same thing, start from where I left off the previous time. What I'm trying to figure out now is how to prevent this from happening but always have songs play from the start. I suspect that when copying the playlist to the iPod, it has also copied across information about where iTunes is expecting the song to start from when it's played again.
If it's of any relevance (not sure yet) I recently started using Genius in iTunes although these songs were not picked through Genius

  • My iPod wants to play music half way through one song and then start the next one, or pick up in the next song were the first song was at.  How do I fix this?

I've had it for the past few days that when I have a album playing it will play a song half way through and start the next one, however it still shows the first song name and the time that is on there.  I don't know weather it's just a glich in the iPod itself or if there is something wrong with it all together.   I've never had this problem up until a few days ago, and I really don't know what to do about it.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Music shuffles half way through the song

it is a new ipod and it has started to shuffle half way through the song of a playlist What to do

    Hello,
Before we assume that there is a problem with it, try going to music options and make sure "shake to shuffle" is off, that may be the reason.

  • I recently purchased music and a few songs only downloaded half way through, why is that and how can i fix it?

I recently purchased music and a few songs only downloaded half way through, why is that and how can i fix it?

I think this is a more general problem Apple are having at the moment. I have just written in another thread:
"I am having this problem too. There have been quite a few other threads about it. It applies to single tracks too. They appear to download OK, and show as the right file size and length, but stop playing well before the end and iTunes moves on to the next track. Redownloading them helps sometimes but not always.
I have only had this problem for the last week or so. The longer the track the more likely there is to be a problem (perhaps obviously)."
I think it is the tracks themselves rather than iTunes. If you export the problematic track to the Desktop and try playing it with Quicktime it stops in just the same place.

  • Music I have downloaded from itunes some of them have cut off half way through the song how do I restore them, I have even tried to sync them again

Music I have downloaded through iTunes, some of the songs have cut off half way through the song, I have even tried to sync them again but have not been able to restore it, how do I restore the music lost?

    - Are you saying that they are not listed in your Purchased section?
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    - Are they listed in your Puchases history when you log into your account on your computer?
    - Are they still available now for purchase? If not then you are out of luck
If they are still available and listed in your Puchase History then contact iTunes

  • My iPod is playing songs half way through and not at the beginning?

Okay, so I will be listening to a song like "Yellow Submarine" by The Beatles and will get the urge to change the song to a different band and song half way through of listening to it. After listening to the new band and song and like a month goes by I will go back to The Beatles song and it will begin where i left off and not in the beginning like it used to. How can i fix this because it makes me mad that it starts half way through and not in the beginning?

    Hello uhmcookies,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
I believe the "Remember playback position" is enabled for these songs in iTunes. This option will ensure that wherever you leave off in a song is always where it will be picked up off at. This is a nice feature for audiobook tracks, but not music.
Anyways, you can disable it by removing the check mark next to this option from under the track's Options tab in iTunes. You can access this tab by right->clicking on the track and choosing "Get Info" from the menu.
    Hope this helps.
