Music will not resume at song last played
Since iOS8.3 update, my music, when stopped, will not resume on what song was last played when I start to listen again. This was not an issue before the update. Can anyone help me please? The only way I can make this work is if I do not close out the Music app. Like I said this was not an issue before and I do not want to leave the Music App/Icon open all the time. I'm not real technicaly talented so any help would be appreciated.

Below is general assistance.
Ensure the volume level in iTunes is not muted and or is up to a proper level to hear music. You can test if sound works at all in iTunes by going to iTunes Store and going to the movies area and playing a trailer or listening to song samples.

I already uninstalled itunes and that didn't fix thw problem... help.you have to selet your phone in itunes, go to summary and scroll down to options unselect all the boxes except for the one that say sync with this iphone over wi fi. click apply and then sync! then you can just sync stuff from your phone straight to your computer without using the usb cable! i hope i helped!

I updated my iPhone 6 to the latest iOS 8.1 and now my music will not shuffle. It will play one or two songs but then shut off and return to the home screen.
Anyone else having the same issue?Then back it up and do a restore. If that does not work and if you are still under warranty, call Apple tech support or take the iPod to your local Apple Store or an AASP.

It sounds like you have done some great troubleshooting for your iPod nano that is not responding. In this situation, if resetting it did not resolve, I would suggest restoring the iPod back to its factory settings and then sync your content back onto it from iTunes. Have Ipod Touch 2nd Gen. 64 gig. I noticed that my music will not play alphabetically anymore. Don't know exactly when this occured. I checked all my settings so doesn't seem to be that.Apple no longer is upgrading this unit..I use windows XP but don't believe this is an issue since i have read posts saying this is not the problem..right now am converting my higher bit rate music to see if that changes anything. I also turned off my unit and the next thing am going to do is a restore if this doesn't work. Anyone find a fix for this yet? I also see that this is not a unique problem to Gen 2 units and is occuring on newer units as well..thank you all for any advise...

My music will not play on my iPhone 5. It has the upgrade as well as my iTunes on my macbook. But the music will not sync to my iPhone and all music is in my library. What do I need to do?
An exclamation mark means that it doesn't know where you moved the music to. To fix this, click on the exclamation point and when it asks you to browse to the location where you moved it to, use the normal commands to go up and down folders in your external drive until you find the song. Repeat as necessary.

IPod Touch: music will not play
Music will not play, podcasts will. When I press play on a song or playlist it goes straight to pause & will not play. I have reset it but no luck. Any thoughts??

Music will not play on new iPod touch (5th gen.)
Some music will not play on my brand new (5th gen.) iPod touch. I see a "play" arrow blinking next to the battery icon. Any clues on what the problem is?
Try:
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music amd resync
- Reset all settings

My music will not play on an iphone 4
My music will not play on my iphone 4. It has the play symbol at the top right corner of my iphone but it is not showing the time elasped of the song and you can not hear anything. The volume is turned up and it is not on vibrate. the ringer works and the speaker and microphone works fine. any ideas why my music will not play?? Thanks for any help!
If you plug in headphones can you hear the music?
Try cleaning the dock connector and the headphone jack, does this make a difference? -
So, I thought it was great that apple came out with a new update to fix the bugs of iOS7, however it seems that it created more problematic bugs...
My iTunes is updated to the latest version, as is my iPhone. No matter how many times I plug it in to the computer it absolutely will not sync new music onto my phone. It says it is syncing, but in reality nothing on my phone has changed. No new music, nothing.
I have turned my computer on/off as well as my phone.
Also, no matter what it will not pick a song when I am 'trying' to listen to music on my phone. It just swipes through them all super fast and never stops! Why?!
Today, I updated my iPhone to iOS 7.0.4 and it didn't fix the issues.
Is there a way to fix this, or do I just have to wait until Apple comes out with a new update to fix it??I have a very similar problem in Arizona, USA. Virgin Mobile is my carrier. Early in October, the phone seems to have lost it's 3G ability and is exceedingly hesitant to connect to any WiFi networks other than my home WiFi. I've spent countless hours on the phone with my service provider and they have escalated my problem to a higher tier tech group that is looking at the problem now. I've also called AppleCare to ask if I could revert to iOS 6 and was informed that Apple products, once and update has been added, are unable to revert or move backwards. AppleCare said they would like to just exchange my phone for a new one but I am 50 days outside the 1 year limited manufacturer warranty period. Virgin, of course, will not replace the phone for me despite this being a network problem. The responsibility of which should fall on their shoulders. My side of the contract is to pay and pay on time which I have always done. Their side is to provide the services promised at time of purchase and they have dropped the ball. Hope someone out there has an awesome suggestion that doesn't involve going into iTunes and tweaking it or jailbreaking the phone. Until then....namaste.

please help, someone that doesn't have the savay on moving music from an old pc to a new pc. Music will not play message comes up and have to search. also purchased music from iPhone and does not show on my music library on PC. This is very frustrating. Thank you
It all depends on exactly how you move the library from one machine to the other. The database holding information about your library is normally in a folder called iTunes, with the media in a subfolder called iTunes Media. In this layout you can usually copy the entire iTunes folder from one machine to the other and it will work. If the media folder is split to a new location however then often the links to tracks will fail on a new computer.
You shoud find that the FindTracks script is able to repair the links in your library.
I'm not sure I know what is going on with the purchased music, however if you enable Edit > Preferences > Store > Automatic Downloads > Music you should be able to recover your past store purchases.

It happens when you download from two or more different Apple IDs often. It says you must waut 90 days before you can play it without wifi. So in 90 days, try to download again.

I just recently bought a PC, and I just spent some money on some new songs. I plugged my iPod into the computer and my photos immediately began to sync to my photos library, but my music will not move to my iPod. This did not happen on my old PC. Suggestions? Thanks!
The transfer purchases option only works for tracks that were purchased from the iTunes Store. You'll need the help of third party software to extract all other non-iTunes purchased content and music. See this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering the different methods and software available to assist you with the task of copying content from your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes.
