Music with photo slideshows

My apple TV plays my photo as slideshows, but it won't play music at the same time. I have been to settings, and it says the music is off, but the remote won't switch it on. Music from my itunes library plays fine. Am I missing something?

You are looking at the settings for Photos in general. Go to shared photos and where you see your albums, select settings there. here you can select which itunes playlists you want as background music

This category is for iPod shuffle.  Is that the type of iPod you have, because your description of the problem does not sound like it's about a shuffle?  If it's not a shuffle, what is the iPod model...?
There is music there and I can play it connected to laptop.
Are you doing the playing using the iPod, or are you playing the music using iTunes on the laptop?
All mucis icons read "No music" and this is not correct
Do these icons with "No music" appear on the laptop's screen, or on the iPod's screen

  • Can i make a project with photo slideshows and videos mixed?

Hi, I just bought my mac yesterday, i'm new at everything then. I want to know if i can make a movie with photo slideshows and videos in between. For example, i would like to place all my photos and videos from a trip in chronological order, so when i click play there's going to be like ten photos, then a 2minute video, then photos again and so on... which program or application do you recommend for this?

Per your description, this should not be a problem from within iMovie '08. Adding slideshows created in iPhoto (contain "Tween" tracks that iMovie '08 doesn't like) or dropping too many photos on top of a single video clip (iMovie '08 can be touchy about initial placement of dropped photos) can, however, create potential problems.

  • Can't play music in photo slideshow??

I have got a brand new N78 with the latest firmware. The problem is that i am unable to play any music in the photo slideshow. There is no problem with the music file as I can easily play them on the music player but i don't know why the music doesn't plays in the slideshow....Please help.....

Is the audio track one you purchased from iTunes and is DRM protected? If so then the protection prevents the audio from getting included in the QT movie file.
If you have Quicktime Pro 7 and Quicktime Player 7 you can add the movie to the audio track to get what you want.

  • Music with new slideshow feature in iphoto 6

First of all where did the old feature of clicking play for a quick view of your pictures go? Secondly when I create a slideshow the music (itunes icon) won't let me select songs from my itunes if they are in a folder--if I click on recently added or even library --gone is the ability to then chose a song from that folder?
    any ideas?
    thanks

It's been replaced with the Play button at the bottom
of the Organize/thumbnail window. It allows you to
play a slideshow, with the slideshow options, of any
photos you've selected without creating a slideshow.
It's the old quick play button on steroids.
    blockquote align="left">
Part of my question has been answered. I just made my iphoto screen bigger and voila --podcasts and play button appear--so that is solved --thank you
However I still can't select the song I want to play with a slideshow. If I'm in settings and I go to music and click on the library folder in the list it gives it doesn't then show me all of my songs? If i click play it will play the first song in my library?
    thanks for your time

  • Problems with photo slideshow director HD version 6.1

I have iPad mini with 12.6 gb capacity (4.2 gb available) and am using iOS 8.0.2.  I downloaded Photo Slideshow Director HD PRO version 6.01.  I have a Celebration of Life for a family member tomorrow.  I created a slideshow 49 min long, 369 photos. (from what other users wrote I didn't think a video of that length would be a problem).  In order to do anything with it, it has to be encoded and saved to my photo library.  I start the process and it gets about 30% there and the app just shuts down.  I've made sure my device does not lock.  It doesn't go to sleep,  the app just closes and my device goes back to my home screen.  I've also tried wifi transfer, transfer to my PC through iTunes, but nothing can happen till it's "encoded".  I've put in 2 emails to developer, no response.
I know I could make multiple shorter clips, but I'm simply out of time and can't reload and edit all those pictures!
    Any suggestions? Thank You

I would guess that the length of your slideshow would have something to do with your problem.
Is this what you are using:
    http://www.iphone-to-ipad.com/blog/transfer-files-ipad-mac.html
A video almost one hour long in HD will be of very considerable size which means any wireless transfer would be painfully slow and would only work with a very stable connection. Not ever having put together a video on an iPad (as I prefer my large screen iMac and using Final Cut, iMovie, iDVD, Motion, etc), one fact while editing and rendering video is: it needs a lot of RAM as well as enough empty hard drive space - at least on a computer. I do not know how well an iPad will cope with such processor demanding tasks.
My recommendation would be that you export the images and then edit/process/render the slideshow on a computer or, at a minimum, transfer the slideshow in "pieces" - you should be able to combine the parts once on your computer. Just use iMovie to add them together.

  • Help with photo slideshow and deleting photos!!!

I wanted to know how you make a photo slideshow on the ipod and I also wanted to find out how to delete photos off of the ipod. I got them on but some I didn't want on there. How do I get them off?

    Deleting photos? Easy.
The photos get on your nano through iTunes.
In iTunes you need to change the Preferences.
Plug in the nano, launch iTunes, open Preferences.
Look at the Photo tab - this will tell you what is being synced onto the nano.
Change this or remove the syncing altogether.
    Hope that solves your question.
Have a look at this link for the iPod for Dummies:
    iPod 101
lots of useful information there including photo slideshows.

  • How do you choose music with photos?

I'm wondering how to choose your music when showing photos. At the moment, it seems like it's making a random choice from my whole iTunes Library. Is there a way to add music in a folder or something? Then can it be lopped to keep playing?

SlideShow Settings. Forget where (as I am not at home with AppleTV). But there is a place.

  • Can't put music with a slideshow...

Alright . . . Using iPhoto 08 version 7.1.4. I am attempting to make a new slideshow, but when I attempt to open the 'Music' option, nothing happens. Old slideshows that I have made will play with the assigned music, and the new one will use that annoying default tune. But alas, I cannot open the music option for any of my slideshows. Help!
(I recently updated iPhoto - aside from that I don't know what might be causing the problem. I have tried restarting my computer, but come up against the same problem.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. First try deleting the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder and try again.
When you click on the music pane do you see the iPhoto Library icon? If you only see the folder with the default audio look for a small dimple in the horizontal frame and drag downward.
See lori's screenshot links in this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=446667&tstart=0.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Basic help with photo slideshow?

    Hi
I am new to adobe after effects and I have recently purchased a file from videohive (http://videohive.net/item/photo-album-v2/44575) which is great.  I am trying to tweak it a little and as I am new to after effects, I would love to ask anyone for some basic help?  I will be leaving the country in 2 weeks to get married and my UK wedding reception will be a week after I return so I am in pretty much a hurry to get a slideshow rendered and put onto dvd to play in the reception.  I have mastered how to render in PAL format and get onto DVD but I am having a little trouble with basic elements such as adding keyframes.
The file has 13 placeholders which I have replaced with my own photos. Two of which are replaced with avi videos instead of jpg. This works fine but I would like to stop the camera movement on say photo 7 and zoom in a little on the video, play the video (approx 40 seconds) then return the photo back in place and resume your camera movement.  This will be repeated for one other photo (photo 9) where the video is approx 60 seconds.  Could you possibly help me how I can do this?  I am also adding music to play throughout from start to finish and I would also like to pause (or fade volume) whilst the avi video placeholder is playing, then resume after playback.  I know this may sound a lot to ask but I know that with the knowledge - it will only take me about 30 mins work once I know what to do.  Any help you can offer will be fantastic. I am proficient with Adobe Flash so I understand the jargon of timelines etc.
Thank you for any help anyone could provide in my panic to get complete.
    Best regards
    Sean.

*woohoo* Here's to the ones daring marriage... For your  problems there is a number of ways to tackle them, but the specific solution may depend on how the template works. As David already said, for audio you'd be better off using Premiere, but assuming you have just a single track that realyl only requires fades, AE should serve your needs. You can reveal the audio volume by tapping the L key when the respective layer in your composition is selected, then enable the stopwatch icon to add keyframes. Layers can be trimmed by simply dragging their ends, duplicated with Ctrl+D and split by using Ctrl+Shift+D, so it should be perfectly possible to extend your audio as needed, assuming you increase the comp duration first via the composition options. For the images to come into view, you could simply scale them up. Of course the project is based on 3D layers, so it would look a lot better if you animated the camera to dolly in, but if you have no experience in AE, that may make more of a mess than it's worth. Therefore I simply recommend you create a photo flash/ film burn transition - add a  white solid with a slight color tint, set it's blending mode to add, animate it's opacity and while it's fading out, fade in your full screen video. If done in 32bpc, this can look quite real and since it's a separate effect, it won't interfere with the rest of the animation.

  • Help with Photo Slideshow

I would like to create a photoslide show with Premiere Elements 4. I did once in the original version many years ago, but I am having trouble find the best way to create. Does anyone know a good tutorial on how to do this. I know how to import the media, but had trouble creating transitions for the photos without having to create one between each photo. I also want to import music. Rather than set the time of the show, I would like Premiere to choose the photo length based on the time of the music in the show.
Any assistance, or if someone could point me in the right direction, would be great.
    Thanks for your assistance.

I have an article on creating slideshows using both Premiere Elements and Photoshop Elements, MD. It's available in the members are at Muvipix.com.
The basics are that you (a) want to make sure your photos are no larger than 1000x750 pixels. This gives you best performance with highest photo quality. And (b) you import the photos into either program and either simply assemble the stills on your timeline or use the automatic Slideshow Creator. To use Create Slideshow in Premiere Elements, gather all the photos in the project media panel, right-click and select Create Slideshow.
My article discusses in greater detail all of the options and which might be the best methods and techniques.
http://www.muvipix.com, a site set up by a number of experienced Premeiere Elements users with some support from Adobe, offers one of the most friendly, helpful forums on the web and includes a large number of complimentary products including tutorials, tips, DVD templates, stock footage, motion backgrounds and sound effects. And, for a small annual fee which we use to keep the site up and running, you can have unlimited downloads from our ever-growing library of high-end tutorials, tips and products.

  • IWeb sites with photo slideshows after migration from MobileMe

I raised this question in another discussion earlier today in response to another post in the MobileMe forum (no answer yet), but the recent confirmation about the death of MobileMe webhosting brings new urgency to this question for me, so I figured I'd post it in the iWeb forum.
I knew that if I migrated my iWeb sites to another host, I'd lose the counter, etc. I wasn't concerned about that, and don't have a blog or comments area that would be impacted. But, on my two sites (iWeb -->MobileMe), there are many pictures--and slideshows are an important part of those sites. Will the slideshow feature of iWeb be able to be used after I migrate to another host  such as hostexcellence or godaddy??? If that's true, then I really do have a problem. (I'm not talking about galleries from iPhoto to mobileme, but photo pages in iWeb sites.)
I've spent a ton of time over the last couple of years on those sites, and would hate to redo them. While there may be alternatives to the iWeb slideshow, it will take me quite a while to figure it out. (I never had a desire to learn how to do that--if I did, I wouldn't have needed iWeb.)
If anybody who uses the iWeb slideshow on a photo page and has their sites hosted somewhere other than MobileMe could let me know--I'd appreciate it. (Let me know which host you use please!) Thanks.
I guess related to this, if it's absolutely not going to work anymore, suggestions would be appreciated. Do I have to redo my sites for this? Is there an "iWeb like" program that has an easy to use slideshow for a photopage that would work? If so, I guess I have a year to redo my sites. )

Past experience has taught me not to rely on media player assets on third party servers. Yahoo pulling the plug on the EasyListener player is a case in point.
As OT has pointed out, the slideshow works on other servers but, according to Cyclosaurus, some necessary assets are on the Apple server.
Wouldn't it be reasonable to expect that Apple will make these assets available after the demise of MobileMe if enough people requested this?
The iWeb method of getting media onto websites leaves a lot to be desired and there are a lot of other ways to display music, movies and photos. The photo page is one of iWebs few triumphs but there are many alternative slideshows and banners.
Most of these methods require that assets are uploaded to, ideally, your own server but its not so difficult once you grasp the concept and the basics of FTP.
iWeb does provide two other methods of publishing apart from MobileMe. The built in FTP is just as quick, easy and convenient as publishing to MobileMe once you set it up.
Publishing to a local folder and uploading via an FTP app. allows you to add SEO tags and optimize the files for faster download.
A good FTP application makes the task of uploading media player assets very easy - drag and drop.

  • Can't play music with a slideshow

I've only had a problem adding music since I've upgraded to Maverick on my desktop. Did I miss something ? I go to the music tab for the slideshow, select the track I want from I Tunes libruary as before, select play. The slideshow starts with no music.  I check the volume level is set high, but nothing.  I've tried closing Iphoto then reopening but no change. Any idea's ?

In iTunes go File -> Library -> Organise Library -> Reorganise Library.
    Then quit and restart iPhoto.
Credit to user keysandfood who figured that one out.

  • Different Music with One Slideshow

I'm putting together a DVD of a short film using DVD Studio Pro. I want to include a slideshow of behind the scenes pics on disc. I would like to give folks the option of choosing if they'd like to watch the slideshow with either music from the original score or one of two pieces of pre-existing music used in the film. The three pieces of music are of differing lengths. Can I do this without creating three different slideshows (which would use a lot of disc space)? If so, how?
    Thanks.

    Hi Robin
There won't be an onscreen button. If the viewer presses the Audio button on their DVD remote they'll be able to select which audio track.
You could either create an audio select menu to point people to which track they'd want OR clear onscreen instructions in the preceding menu as to how they get from Track to Track.
As a precaution ensure that your audio tracks are all same length so you don't have any gaps when it's played.
