Music won't copy to iPhone

I have always manually managed my music.  Suddenly, it seems that iTunes won't let me do that anymore.  The titles appear in my iPhone, but they don't actually copy over. Is this another hidden feature like the new atuo shuffle in the music player?  How do I get music to my phone?

Again, not helpful.
It is helpful.
You just don't want to do it.
Okay.
Dragging and dropping to a playlist is exactly the same dragging and dropping to the iPhone.
Except you can add songs without having the iPhone with you.
and you can now use this playlist with other playlists (such as a smart playlist - what is not on the  iPhone) to help you better manage content to put onto the iPhone.

When I drag music in my Windows itunes library to my connected iphone 5 it won't highlight it as a destination. Help please?!

Thanks but I already imported the music into itunes - in mp3 format. My problem is when I drag to the right and the iphone appears but I can't get it to highlight so I can drop the music onto it.

  • My music won't download to iPhone from icloud

my music won't download to iPhone from icloud

I'm having the same problem. I have checked the status and it says the location of the song is in iCloud. When I click on the cloud next to the song, not thing happens. It's been like that for 3 days. It does say it's "waiting"
Also, when I manually add album art, nothing happens. Still shows the generic iTunes icon.

  • Music won't sync to iPhone

    Informations:
    -iPhone 5 (running iOS 7)
    -iTunes 11.1
    -windows 7
    Issue:
Exactly how it sounds, the iPhone just won't sync music anymore. I have enough space for it. I made sure the option for music is checked.
Everything else will sync to my phone just fine. My iPad also successfully syncs the music (so that weeds out the possibility of a corrupted file)
Half the time the iTunes sync won't even complete, it will either stay stuck on the last step, or automatically cancel
I am not sure what to do, the advisors chat page says there is no solution available in my area, and the tech support over the phone keep hanging up :(

Found out one of the songs had an emoticon/symbol in it, which was causing the new itunes to prevent all the songs from syncing... thanks for not responding to me

  • My music won't unsync from iPhone

I've tried to delete a lot of music from my iPhone (because my storage was running out). I can't seem to remove all my Music from my iPhone. When I go to Settings > General > Usage > Manage Storage, every time I click on "Music" it crashes out of the Settings and returns to the home page.

Have you tried closing the Settings app via the phone's multitasking bar and seeing if you can delete your music when you re-open the app ? Double-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag the Settings app's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
If that doesn't fix it then you could try a soft-reset (i.e. a reboot) : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear.

  • Skydrive music won't copy to itunes media in windows 8.1

I am using Itunes 11.1.3.8 and Windows 8.1
This new version of windows skydrive keeps the files on the cloud. I have set itunes to copy music to its own local folder. So, when I add folder to itunes, I thought it would locate the skydrive music and download it to its local media folder.
It doesn't. It doesn't create an error or complain, but it doesn't do anything. I can see the files in skydrive, but nothing gets moved into itunes. I also tried to drag the skydrive music folder on to the itunes icon.
I'm trying to avoid copying the skydrive folder to a local folder and then copying into itunes, because that would involve 3 copies.
Any ideas about how to download these skydrive music folders?

Doublechecking. Have you also tried a complete uninstall of both iTunes and all the other related software components and then a reinstall? If not, try the instructions from the following document:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

  • Music won'y sync with IPhone 5

My music will not sync with the Iphone 5.  It appear it skips right over the sync for the music.  Tried everything

It turns out this problem is occurring because I bought songs from iTunes radio, the songs I downloaded think they are internet-only tracks and refuse to sync with iTunes. Probably just a bug, but it's irritating because I paid money for those songs and now it's questionable if I even own them..

  • Music won't sync with iphone

I have music on my iPhone and a large library in iTunes. Awhile back, my powerbook crashed and I had to transfer everything to an external drive while I wiped the powerbooks drive clean. Then I migrated everything back. Now when I attach my iphone to sync, I get a MUSIC tab that only has one choice: SYNC ALL. Is this right?

  • Music won't delete off iphone and won't appear in itunes

I have no idea if this issue has arisen yet with iOS 8, but I cannot swipe delete some songs off my iPhone 4S and when I try to use my computer to delete those songs, they don't even appear in iTunes. I have my iCloud settings set to hide all purchased songs in my iCloud. These songs are somehow still in existence on my iPhone and there seems to be no way to remove them from it. Is there any way of getting them off without having to reset the whole thing? Much appreciated!!

Are you sure they are on your phone?
if a song shows with a cloud icon next to it, it is NOT on the phone and therefore can't be deleted.
if you don't want it to show:
    1.  Tap cloud to download songs
    2.  Go to settings to itunes and App Store .  Turn off the switch to "show all music"
    3.  Now go back and delete the songs from the phone.  They will not show again unless you change the switch or go to purchased music.

  • Music does not copy to iPhone

Over the last few weeks, I have notices that I have to sync my phone 3 or 4 times to get my music synced. It goes through the whole process on itunes (Step 1 of 5, step 2 of 5, etc...) and says that the sync is complete. When I go to my music on my phone, however, there is nothing there. It is quite annoying because I can no longer sync and run out the door when it is done. Rather, I have to sync, then check my phone to see if it worked, and then sync it again and again until it finally syncs.  It is real annoying, and I would love to know if there is anything I can do to fix this problem.
    THanks

A screen shot of my computer while it is syncing the second time. I went and did the dishes while it "sync'd" the first time. I knew I had to check my phone to see if anything synced. It did not, and iTunes did not tell me that there were any problems with the sync. This led me to believe that it may have been successful. I looked at my phone and lo and behold, the phone did not sync.I took a screen shot on my phone of the "deleted" playlists (desmond Dekker and Dick's Picks) that are still on my phone after the first sync. I also have a screenshot of my iTunes that shows the files already unchecked, yet I am in the process of syncing the second time.
This is real annoying. please fix this problem.

  • "Your IPOD software is too Old." music won't copy to ipod

Here is back history; My Ipod Video 30gb stopped mounting (Windows formatted IPOD with the latest software- updater 03-23-2006). I tried the 5 R's on my PC. with no result. Managed to mount it with disk Utility on my MacBookPro in disk mode and erase it. Then restored it on my PC. After this the Ipod appears on the Mac as an IPOD mini icon on desktop and Itunes instead of as a Video Ipod (prior to orig. mounting problem it worked on both platforms.Appears on PC as correct icon, Ipod Video. I am unable to put video files on the Ipod when working on MacBookPro. Also, songs purchased in the music store on the MacBookPro give that message " your ipod software is too old".

I believe you need 1.2 on the iPod
There are so many threads on the board about these issues I don't remember where I read it, but there is a solution that involves deleting an ipod file which forces the thing to reinstall it.
I myself had a long nightmare of a time trying to update my 60g to 1.2 but I finally got it to work by doing it on my laptop.

  • Transfer music from iTunes 11 to iPhone 4s or iPod 4G - Home Sharing

OK, I'm an Android guy and I'll leave it at that. Recently got an iPhone 4s for my wife and an iPod 4G for my son. I'm slowly working my way through these devices. I would consider myself a very tech saavy person.
So, music. We have a lot of music. With Google - I've used Google music without issue. It uploads to google music and using the app on the android phones, streams without issue. There is an iOs app called gmusic which didn't work very well.
I started tackling the iTunes challenge. Long story short - I installed iTunes 11 on my 'main' household computer. Slowly importing all the music to iTunes. Then turned on Home Sharing. Have two other computers with iTunes loaded, all three signed into same Apple ID and all three are sharing the music.
I have read and re-read the "how to's" - including syncing all music (which I'm not going to do) vs choosing the music (all via iTunes when iphone is plugged in).
What I would like to be able to do is for my wife to be able to scroll through music in iTunes and pick music to sync / copy to iPhone. This would seem intuitive but it does not appear to be. Dragging songs to iPhone gives a red line.
Same problem on other computer with my sons iPod 4th gen. He needed much less music and the solution seemed to be, highlight song in shared library, click import (imports to local libary), then I was able to drag to iPod.
I'm not going to go a rant about Apple products and the argument that "they just work!" - but you can read between the lines.
I'm not sure what the hangup is with this situation but I am worn from trying to figure it out.
    Thanks.

It is very intuitive as soon as you realize what is occurring.
In order to sync media to a device, that media must be physically present on the computer (or an attached external drive) that the device is syncing to.  iTunes will not sync media from another computer (via home sharing) to a device.  Just my personal opinion, home sharing is a complete waste of time, turn it off.
Once all the media is on the computer, connect the device and tell iTunes what to sync to the device.
Another option is iTunes Match.  This does not sync media to the device but will instead allow the user to "stream" media as it downloads to iDevices.

  • A while ago I wanted to download/buy an album on my iPhone 4 but I didnt have enough space so I deleted some stuff and downloaded the album. well ever since then my other music won't play, only that one album will play and none of my other music will play

a while ago I wanted to buy an album but I didn't have enough space on my phone, (iPhone 4) so I deleted some things off my phone and downloaded the album. well ever since then all my other music won't play, only that one album will play. I thought it was because I havent been able to get the software update on my phone but I don't have enough space for that either. I deleted almost all my photos, all my apps, i deleted almost all the info that is on the apps that you can't delete, but it says I have too much music and I only have 45 songs!!!!!!!! and I don't want to delete them because that's what I'm trying to listen to but I can't because of whatever reason. PLEASE HELP!!

1, you can't at the moment, though with iOS 5 in the Autumn, from http://www.apple.com/ios/ios5/features.html#photos :
Even organize your photos in albums — right on your device
2, by removing it from you synced from and re-syncing. Only photos taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad (either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view)
3, the location of the photos that you synced to the iPad should be listed on the iPad's Photos tab when connected to your computer's iTunes.
4, you can copy the photos from your iPad to your computer : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 . You should also be able to delete them from the iPad as part of the transfer process to your computer, and it's then your choice whether to add them to your sync photo list so as to copy them back to the iPad. Copying them to your computer would allow you to organise them into folders and therefore be able to sync them back into separate albums.
5, I don't use Dropbox either. There are some third-party browser apps in the iTunes App Store that allow you to download pages so that you can view them when offline e.g. Atomic Web (the whole page is saved within Atomic Web, it doesn't place a photo into the Photos app)
6, deleting content should help. If you remove an app from your iPad then you also remove the content that it's got on the iPad - so if you then decide to reinstall it back onto the iPad then you will need to manually add back any content that you want in it. None of the Apple built-in apps (including Photos) can be removed from the iPad

  • HT1386 iPhone won't sync with iTunes. It says iTunes can not add songs to iPhone because no songs in iTunes library can be copied to iPhone. Help!!!! What should I do

iPhone won't sync with iTunes and It says iTunes can not add songs to iPhone because no songs in iTunes library can be copied to iPhone. Help!!!! What should I do. I tried everything!
I need to add my music to my iPhone from iTunes but its not working!

First off try and go into your IPhone manually through My Computer and cut photos or anything you can through the device to be able to free space up so that you can continue to do what you want to do with ITunes. This way you will be able to create a backup or do what you have to do to manage your information, photos and texts on your device a little better.

  • HT1386 Some of my music won't play on my iPhone

Shortly after upgrading to the latest OS (7.0.2), I've noticed some of my music won't play on my iPhone.  I can see the songs but they have a red circle with a square inside it next to them and I can't do anything with them.  I have plenty of space and there's not "downloading from the iCloud" option.
Problem 2...some other people are having this problem and recommend wiping the music off my phone and re-syncing via iTunes but when I plug my phone in (or sync via wi-fi, either one) to sync, it hangs up on "waiting for changes to apply" and never wipes the music.  I've looked around at other complaints about this issue and none of the recommended "fixes" work.
I assume this is going to require an OS patch of some sort.  What's the ETA on this and is there a way to get around it now?

I have this problem too but all the songs that wont play arent downloaded from the itunes store theyre from another site
