Music won't stay synced

After the latest update it took literally 2 days to put my music back on my iPod Touch (4th Gen) once I hooked it up to my computer. Yesterday I had to interrupt mid-sync because it looked like it was going to take too long and I didn't have the time. Today, no music on my iPod.
I can't have it take 2 days every time I connect to the computer! I have enabled wireless sync, but I will plug it in to charge it. Please help!

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

Verizon when are you going to make a 64 bit version of V Cast Media Manager?. I wanna be able to use it, I really hate using Windows Media Player, it's a piece of crap!. Also, all my **bleep** albums keep splitting up into media songs and won't keep them organized in the album folders. Also, quick question, why does my phone only show 14.83G total when it should show 16 + the 8G from the eternal memory?. Shouldn't it be showing up with 24Gigs of memory total not 14?.

Have you tried using Media Share on your phone?   Here are the steps for sharing your data. Also regarding the memory, do you have files(music, pictures, or videos stored on your phone?  Having contacts, text messages, email and apps on your phone?   These things pull from your internal memory and sd card memory. At this time a update to V cast media manager is not available. You can sign up for email updates under the Support tab on the website to get information regarding new updates that will be available. Hope this helps!
From the home screen, touch the applications tab (located at the bottom of the display).
    Touch Media Share.
    Touch Start.
To be notified when a connection is available, touch Connection notification (enabled when a green check mark is present).
Touch one of the following options:

  • 'Manually manage music' won't stay unchecked

I recently got a new computer (old one crashed) and transferred my iTunes library to it. I would like to have my music and videos auto-update whenever I connect my iPod. I've followed all the steps in the help file. I've also looked for this topic in the forums here, and followed the few recommendations mentioned, but to no avail.
Whatever I do, the 'Manually manage music' checkbox reverts back to checked after I 'Apply' it. I think it has to do with the fact that an iPod will only auto-sync with one computer. How can I get my iPod to know that my current computer is the one I want it to sync with?

If it's set to Auto-sync, it will auto-sync to the computer it gets plugged into.
    Restore it.

  • I got a new laptop this summer and now my iPhone 4s won't stay syncing to iTunes on it when I use the usb cord. What do I do?

I went from a toshiba to an hp laptop. My iPhone 4S connected to it originally but now i can't get it to stop connecting and unconnecting long enough for it to sync properly anymore. I've tried a number of different cores to get it to work but it doesn't change anything. What should I do?

  • Ipod nano randomly turns on, pauses music & won't stay off

I got an iPod Nano 6th(?) Gen in August. It didn't get used for another month - loaded it with tunes in September. After about a month of intermittent use, it started to randomly pause music without touching it in any way. I also noticed that, even though the iPod wasn't being used daily, it rarely had enough charge to play for more than an hour. After paying close attention one day after turning it off, it just jumped back on without my touching it.  Disturbing to say the least - brand new gift, hardly used and not working right after only a couple months.
It was suggested by online and telephone support that the iPod be reset by holding down the keys; then reset, wiped clean and reloaded in iTunes (phone support).  Neither of these fixes worked.  Very upsetting.
In November I filled out a service request and sent my Nano back via UPS.  I am beyond livid at this point as #1 - their tracking page tells you nothing #2 - I almost didn't get my iPod back as they never notified me it was shipped via FedEx requiring someone to be home to sign for it(!) and #3 - my device was denied repair/replacement because they're saying that the LCI (liquid contact indicator) was pink, indicating that my iPod had been submerged in liquid causing the internal damage.  I was told that I had to bring it to an authorized Apple place and they could replace it for me for $65 which is about half of what my husband paid for the thing.
Um, unless this spill or submersion happened right before they sealed it in the box it never got wet.  I think this touch-Nano is defective from the posts seen here and Apple is looking for a way to not replace/repair at their cost.  Maybe their LCI is hypersensitive?? I might have breathed on it or maybe it couldn't take the humidity in August when it was given to me... If a device is to be sold for use by the average, active person (it has a pedometer for Criminy's sake) maybe it shoudn't be so sensitive to "wetness".

Call Apple Customer Relations-1800-767-2775.  Explain to them exactly what you stated in your post.
     Good luck!

  • Music won't stay in shuffle mode ?

    Hi all,
This problem seems to have started after intalling one of the last ITunes updates a while ago.
Basically when I shuffled a song list it would stay in shuffle mode until you unclicked the shuffle icon. Now the shuffle mode seems to randomly turn itself off.
Does anyone know why this is happening ?
    Thanks all,
    Martin

Ok I've worked out what causes this - if you play a podcast it turns off the shuffle when you go back to songs. Do you think this is a bug ? If so how could I report to Apple ?
    Thanks all

  • MyCloud "ntpd" is AWOL... time initially sync's but won't stay sync'd

My 2TB MyCloud doesn't have "ntpd" running on it.  In fact, it doesn't even have an executable for "ntpd". Interestingly, it does *initially* synchronize time with the Linux machine on my LAN if I add the entry "192.168.1.3" to the server pool (here's the line from  /etc/ default/ntpdate ) : NTPSERVERS="192.168.1.3 time.windows.com pool.ntp.org" More interestingly, while there is no "ntpd" there *are* "/usr/sbin/ntpdate" and "/usr/sbin/ntpdate-debian", which doesappear to be getting started by "init".  But it seems like what it does is sync the time - successfully - with the server on 192.168.1.3, and then exits without starting any sort of "Daemon" on the MyCloud. I discovered this when the time on the MyCloud wandered out of sync, and I successfully ran "invoke-rc.d ntpdate start" andit *did* resynchronize...  But there's still no obvious *Daemon* running, and I can only assume it will probably wander out of sync again (which, for anyone who doesn't know why I'm obsessed with this, is a Bad Thing if you're using a system as a backup server as I am.) here are some lines from /var/log/daemon.log : Jul 12 23:56:13 WDMyCloud ntpdate[10074]: Can't find host time.windows.com: Name or service not known (-2)
Jul 12 23:56:53 WDMyCloud ntpdate[10074]: Can't find host pool.ntp.org: Name or service not known (-2)
Jul 12 23:54:07 WDMyCloud ntpdate[10074]: step time server 192.168.1.3 offset -172.228438 sec The MyCloud can't reach the Internet from inside my LAN (deliberately), so no surprise on the other two servers. Meanwhile...  trolling around on the net turns up the fact that "ntpdate" is deprecated *and* that "ntpd" has been in Debian as far back as I can remember (and "ntpdate" has not - in fact I think it's a USB program?) ... So, before I go on a massive debugging binge, I thought I'd ask if anyone here knew about this...  is there supposed to be a time server running on the MyCloud, and what is its name, and why is WD using the (supposedly deprecated) "ntpdate", and - most importantly - why am I not getting periodic time sychronization?  ....  Etc...

OK...  maybe I didn't explain the sequence of events clearly. Out of the box, there are some entries for ntp servers, but because I didn't enable Internet access, it didn't set the clock right. Then from the "dashboard" I added the address of the local machine that's running "ntpd" - leaving the original entries for the NTPD pool etc. in there  as well - and it set the clock right (I also had to enter the same machine's address as the "gateway". Then several days later I noticed that the time had drifted, indicating that "ntpdate" hadn't been  successfully run again since that first time when it set the clock.  So I ran it again via "update-rc.d" and it again corrected the clock - and I noticed that "ntpd" wasn't running. So, when you said it was aborting because I didn't have a valid entry, I did have a valid entry but the other entries were *not* valid, so I thought you meant it was aborting because of those, even though I had one valid entry... Anyway, now I realize that what's happening is that there's no server, and "cron" is just running "ntpdate" once a day to resync the clock...  and I don't think it's running successfully, because I don't see the log messages in /var/log/daemon.log (though it hasn' t drifted noticeably yet either). But, you know what...  before I spend any more of anybody's time on this, I *just* discovered that - additionally - both /tmp and /var/log are 100% full: some lines of output from "df -k": tmpfs 102400 102400 0 100% /tmp
    /dev/root 1968336 685956 1182392 37% /var/log.hdd
ramlog-tmpfs 20480 20480 0 100% /var/log and there are a *ton* of really bizarre files getting created and messages getting logged, that are clogging them up...  So I had probably better go fix that first...  just about anything else including the "cron" job that runs "ntpdate" could be failing as a result of not being able to write to the logfiles, etc...

  • My iPhone won't stay sync'd to iTunes, It syncs but then disconnects, then reconnects. Can anyone help me with this problem??

    Reasons for Drive Failure
Hard drives are mechanical devices with moving parts, so they are subject to expected wear and tear, and can potentially fail mechanically at any given time. But most manufacturers will label their product with an expected average lifespan (usually provided in total expected number of functioning hours). But if a part is faulty or there are some manufacturing defects, a drive's lifespan can be over in as little as a day. Other factors are primarily external in nature. Power surges can cause drive failure, as can fire or water damage, along with a number of computer viruses. Exposure to high levels of magnetism can disrupt the normal functions of a drive, along with sharp impacts. If dust gets into a drive, it can become the catalyst for an eventual failure.
You could try to boot with this. It will test your HD!

Downloaded new ios7 and new itunes 11.1 and now iphone 4 won't finish syncing - just stays on last step and never finishes or cancels on its own. Tried reinstalling itunes with no success.

I have the same problem.. latest version of iTunes (11.1.5) and latest version of ios (7.1) but it gets stuck at "waiting for changes to be applied" and I can't cancel the sync manually. It doesn't cancel on it's own either (at least not the 8 hours over night that it was syncing) and if I unmount the phone then the phone keeps the sync going (the little spinning arrows in the upper left corner) and doesn't recognize that it's been disconnected..
I've tried restoring the phone (with little success, managed to get one more song on there) and syncing over wi-fi but nothing seems to work. Any thoughts, anyone?

  • Music won't sync in ios 8.1

iTunes impossible to sync - My itunes music won't sync. I have tried it all, resetting, deleting the library and reloading, turning on and off all the possible related buttons on iphone and itunes and still mosto of the music is still with a doted circle on the left that keeps the song grayed and although I hit SYNC nothing happens. Then,  there are songs on the iPhone 6 that are not on the iTunes library. How can that be possible?

According to http://robservatory.com/a-nasty-little-itunesios-bug-may-be-causing-media-sync-i ssues/, this is an iTunes/iOS bug that has to do with duplicates (or what iTunes thinks are duplicates) in your library.  Rob gives a fix for the problem in the post, but it involves deleting the "duplicates".  If you're like me and don't want to delete them because they aren't really duplicates, hopefully the fix will come soon.

  • HT1351 some of my newly purchased music won't sync

Some of my newly purchased music won't sync, even though I converted it to the proper format.

Music purchased from the iTunes Store does not need to be converted before being used on iPods.  Music from most other sources, such as Amazon, is in MP3 format and does not need to be converted.  So, can you explain "even though I converted it to the proper format"?
