Music Wont Copy to iPod - account trouble

I recently installed the new version of itunes. I think i already had an apple account on the last one, and with the new one accidentally set it up to use my aol acccount. So there may be two accounts on there?
However i bought some music from itunes and when i tried to copy it to my ipod it came up with a message saying it couldnt be copied because the ipod already had content from 5 or more accounts.
Does anyone know why this is happening and how i can fix it? (aside from restoring the whole thing?) thanks!

"What if I buy a new computer or upgrade to a newer version of windows when it comes out, eventually I will use up my 5 authorizations..and then what? I have to buy the music again? What a load of baloney!"
I'm sorry, I don't mean to sound rude, but you are criticizing something you don't understand correctly.
Before you do any of those things, you just need to deauthorize the computer, then reauthorize the new one. That way, you don't use up any of your 5 authorizations. If you forget to deauthorize a computer that you no longer have access to, you can contact iTMS customer support who will do it for you.
Could I suggest you give that document I linked to previously a thorough read, as it explains all about authorizing and deauthorizing computers.
I don't understand why you're getting so worked up about it. Apple aren't trying to cheat you. : )

  • GarageBand Music wont import on iPod!

Okay, here is the deal, I made a song from GarageBand and want to import it onto my iPod shuffle 1 GB. I am using my dad's new iMac G5 2.1 GHZ Power PC with the latest iTunes, and GarageBand 3.0.2. What I did was on GarageBand went to Share>Send to iTunes. My shuffle currently has 542 MBs of memory left and its a 2 minute song. Also, when I want to send a song from a retail CD I bought or the iTunes Music Store, it works, just not from the songs I made from GarageBand. I couln't imagine this would be for a discussion for iPod Shuffle since I dont think its the Shuffle's fault.

Changing the format into MP3 or AAC or Apple Lossless compresses the audio file, using special calculating algoritms.
As the name implies, conversion to Apple Lossless, compresses the file, but does not loose audio information.
Conversion to MP3 or AAC, compresses the files and 'throws away' some audio information to achieve smaller file sizes.
AAC is considered to do a better job than MP3 at the same bit rate.
Compare these average file sizes (in MB/minute) to get an idea:
    AIFF - uncompressed - 10 MB
    Apple Lossless - compressed - 5 MB
    MP3 or AAC 128 kbps - compressed (lossy) - 1MB
    M
    Edit:
Forgot to mention that converting in iTunes, by using the 'Convert Selection to xxx' in the Advanced menu, creates a copy of the original.
The copy is added to the library.
When you set your iPod shuffle to convert, the files are converted 'on the fly', which does not result in copies.

  • Purchased music not copying to IPod

I've recently purchased several songs from ITunes. The songs downloaded fine to ITunes but they won't copy to my IPod. When I try to move them to my IPod, it says "Syncing IPod. Do not disconnect." But it never copies. I have a few other songs from a previous purchase which copy fine so the problem seems to be with the new ones only. It says that my IPod software is up to date and ITunes is up to date also. Anyone have this problem, or more importantly, have any idea why this is happening?
    Thanks!

  • PLEASE HELP!!!!!~music wont go on ipod~

so two days ago, i took 4 cds and put them on to my itunes. then i plugged in my ipod and synced it so i could put the new music i had just loaded to itunes onto my ipod. when i did, the music i had loaded didnt go on to my ipod. so i tried it again and each time, i synced it, music would come off each time. so i finally restored it. after that, i synced it again. i clicked sync selected playlists and then when it didnt work, i clicked sync all songs and playlists...well i tried that in about 20 different combinations and every time, i get random amounts of songs on my ipod. 113, 101, 122....those are the common ones. i have about 350 songs in all in my itunes and i finally deleted the songs that i had recently added, thinkin maybe that was the reason the songs werent going on....i have transferred my itunes library to another computer, delted songs, made new playlists, restored, looked on here a billion times and i cant figure it out! ive tried everything! please help!

Try restoring your iPod. Restoring will erase the iPod's hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions and it should connect to iTunes and give you a prompt to automatically update your library onto the fresh installation: Restoring iPod to factory settings with iTunes 7

  • Purchased music wont play on ipod

music bought and downloaded from itunes music store (Australia) will not play on my ipod. it skips through the playlists and then goes back to the main menu or just dosnt play the song at. need help please.

Re your music, does any music purchased previously from itunes run on your ipod? My daughter's ipod mini is displaying the similar symptoms, an album she bought and downloaded has stopped playing, deleting and re-loading got it working again but within the week it was back to skipping through the list again. It's only this one album that has been affected, older purchases are working fine. She has the latest software on her ipod and iTunes.
