Ok i think i have found out how to do it. Unplug your i phone, go to settings and then reset then reset all data and settings. This will warn you that it is going to erase eveything on your phone.
DO NOT BACK UP BEFORE HAND
then restart your phone and restore back up from when you donwloaded the new IOS5. This should sort out your problem :-)

Turn on the iCloud Download column in your song list in iTunes and that way you'll be able to see what has been copied to the cloud and what hasn't.
What is the size of your music library and what is the size of your hard drive?

I've had a problem with syncing itunes, when i sync it dosent sync songs previously deleted it just greys them out, which is great but if i want to add a new video or song from my computer it wont sync it will just grey out and wont play. now all my songs

ive had a problem syncing with itunes recently. when i delete a song on my iphone when i sync with my computer it still syncs but just greys out and is rendered useless. thats great unless i when i want to add new music or videos from my pc to my iphone it wont sync and will just grey out. i looked for solutions and one said that deleteing all your music from the usage in settings would fix it, well now when i sync all of my music is greyed out. ive tried adding all of my songs manually into my ipod instead of syncing entire library and nothing. (also when i select to sync music nothing shows up in the usage bar (normally 3 gigs) might help) could someone please help?

if you have a mobile me account. First go and move all your data to the cloud by going on your computer and logging in at me.com/move. The cloud has replaced mobile me, so there is no need for those two accounts
Also make sure that for any of your email accounts you set them up to fetch, not push. My tech person set them all to have the email servers push data to the phone. The new iphone4s antenna is extremely strong so it will continually try to access stuff that is pushed–***** a lot of battery life doing this. It makes it worse if you have exchange 2010 accounts. Something about changes made to exchange really suck battery life from devices that access such accounts.

just did the latest upgrade in software and now my wifi has been greyed out and wont turn on.
contacted apple and they let me know that it is my problem and will have to buy a new phone. anyone find a way to make the wifi work if the upgrade has a glitch in it?

I had this same problem - if your phone is still under warrantly then apple will replace it for you for free.
Otherwise you will need to pay for a replacement.
They will tell you to reset and restore etc but replacement was the only option for me.

It sounds like the album didn't completely download. I would recommend deleting the effected tracks from your iTunes library and redownloading them from the iTunes store. Take a look at the article below for more information.

Ipod4 syncs music incorrectly with itunes after ios5 update. Playlists list some songs which are greyed out and wont play. Suspect they werent downloaded as Ipod now holds 16 000 songs. Previous max was 9000 songs.

I upgraded to IOS5. Now have synching problems using the USB Cable . I tried everything. Resent the Synch history in ITunes. Unticked all playlists and synched to clear all music etc of the iPod. Reticked items to synch then still have trouble. After it synchs, I see a playlist with some songs in black and some in grey. The black songs play, the grey ones don't. The same songs in iTunes do appear there and will play. I don't have any broken links in my library. Anyone know of a solution.? Synching takes forever and seems to get stuck on importing the pictures for ages. I walk away and next morning it will be finished syncing but with aforementioned problems.

1. I assume that that suggests that it is not normal for a browser window to respond with minimisation? It is just weird when a window just disappears, no reason given (and since there is no obvious loss of internet it can take you by chance)

Tell me about it! It is impossible, I came here to answer via the link in the emailed notification, was already signed out and signed in and was returned to the front page. Had to go back to my Mail, click the link again and this time, luckily, I was signed in. Missing a few songs off of every album on my iphone 5. The songs info still displays but is greyed out and will not play. after selecting it on my phone it will then sync in itunes.

I could go through all the albums on my phone and tap each song then re-sync but that would take forever. is there an easy solution to this. It happened after i updated Itunes to 11.1.1. Ok after reading a few posts I relalise you can not down grade os on iphones and never have been able to.
But how come I can't factory reset my phone properly? sure factory reset will mean it will reset the phone and its os to the os that it built with with was ios5?

Greyed out songlist on ipod. I've installed latest software. When synching, msg says unable to transfer songs due to timeout. Now many songs on songlist are greyed out and unaccessible. What's happened?

Memory on 64GB ipod touch indicates about 0.88 remaining. But not all songs on playlist being synched are being transferred over and many (3,000 +) are now greyed out (full details shown but not accessible).
Any ideas?
Have already restored Ipod to original settings twice
Have already amended playlist to choose smaller total memory requirement

it can be difficult to find the Knowledge Base documents if you're not familiar with the site. it took me a few weeks before i was comfortable with it.
if i'm looking for KB docs, i usually click on "advanced search" (just below the tab with the apple on it up at the top of the webpage), and select either "ipod for windows" or "itunes for windows".
usually once i find an article that i use a lot, i make a note of the link, or "favorite" it in my web browser.
(this particular article is a bit difficult to find, even if you do a search. the various different symptoms are so varied, that folks aren't likely to realise it's relevant to their problem even if they see the title of it appear in their search results.)

PLEASE HELP! I transfer one of my garageband songs to another ipad using icloud. I see the song shouw up under "My Songs" with a grenn down arrow at the top right hand corner. When I click the green arrow they song becomes greyed out and wont do anything.

Is the song just taking an extremely long time to download or have I done something wrong?? I have searched everywhere for an answer and cant seem to find it.

I have the same problem too with two songs which are in the same state. Mine happened when I was uploading to iCloud and GarageBand crashed during the upload.
It's really annoying as these songs were from live instruments plugged into my iPad and I was using iCloud as a backup but now it's lost the entire song.
I've tried turning off iCloud and getting duplicates of iCloud songs copied to my iPad and then enabling iCloud again and that didn't fix it.
I'm currently downloading the latest patch release of GarageBand to see whether installing that version (which apparently fixes the problem in the first place) will help my songs magically reappear.
Feel I have nothing to lose as I can't get to the songs ........
