Music wont start

Hello, I have recently discovered that my iPod touch 3rd-generation has stoppped playing music. The speakers are fine and everything but it just wont start. I hit play but nothing happens. In the top right hand corner or the screen it displays music being played but no sound comes out. Also the thing to tell you how far into a song you are doesn't move at all. I need help fast please. I have a lot of songs and i want to play them!!!!!

I've exactly the same problem. After downloading from iTunes match I can't play the song... It's stuck on 0:00.
Streaming and synching without iTunes match work.
Really annoying, I already regret buying iTunes match!

  • Music wont start on my iPhone 4S

    Hello everyone,
    I've got a problem. It's very simpel.
When i press the play button on my iPhone, it wont do anything.. Its an iPhone 4S on 5.0.1. I have tried several ways to delete my music on iTunes and 'rematch' it once again with the cloud, so to start over. But it doesnt work, when i delete a song on iTunes it still is on iCloud.
Not eaven 1 song works on my iPhone, not the ones i bought in the stores, not the ones that i've downloaded as mp3.
What can i do just to make it work on my iPhone?
    Thankyou!

  • Itunes wont start, computer says to download latest version 7.5

iTunes wont start, solution computer gives it to download latest version 7.5. nut when i download it and install 7.5 on my computer, which i have done several times, it doesn't work and says i should download the latest update.....which i already have! is it Vista related, or is relating to version 7.5?....please help me!!

I'll post the same thing I posted in another thread; it might help you. Reinstall itunes again according to my post. Some of the information is irrelevant to your problem, but hey, i'm kinda feeling lazy. You'll get the idea. Here it is.....
"this is just a suggestion. If you reinstall itunes again, make sure you follow the directions in the support section of this site for uninstalling itunes and quicktime. Another thing they don't say in that article that I did when i had to uninstall itunes was to do a search. You know, pressing the start button and then "Search". Make sure when you do, click the search "All files and folders". Then set it to look in "Local Hard Drives (C:)" and type in the "all or part of the file name" itunes. After the search is done you should have a bunch of different itunes components in the results. Btw do the same for quicktime as a search. Make sure to DELETE every itunes and quicktime file there. If some of your music files happened to come up in the search use commone sense. Get rid of every component so itunes and quicktime is completely erased from the system. Make sure that you do this after you've restarted your computer once (according to the uninstallation article). Then just empty your recycle bin, reboot your computer, and finally reinstall itunes. Hopefully that will work to at least get rid of that APP error. Good luck and ask me anything you have some questions!!"
    Hope that works!

  • ITunes just wont start

Soon after loading v 5.0.1, my computer stopped being able to open up iTunes. I get a message offering to send an error report to MS, but nothing else happens.
I have Norton AV installed, and I think I upgraded recently, too, and I wonder if that creates a conflict.
To solve the problem, I have reinstalled several times, both online and from the disk that came with my iPod, and I have system-restored several times as well.
    Any info to help?

I actually fixed it using the advice from a post back in August or September. I used keywords 'wont start' and found a post telling me to uninstall itunes, then QT, then take out 4 files from windows 32, then to reinstall. The only problem is that un-installing dumped the entire music library, which I'm slowly restoring from the 'my music' library (which I did not delete.)
Anyone know if this step can be avoided????

  • Itunes 9.1 wont start, says itunes has stopped working

I have a windows vista home premium 32 bit gateway laptop/pc, with a wired connection for internet. I have had no trouble for 3 years with past itunes but now with 9.0 and 9.1 it simply just wont start at all. When I double click on itunes I get, "itunes has stopped working and windows will notify you if a solution is avaible". I have tried to talk to numerous apple specialists but no can do because for them to troubleshoot with you, one has to own an apple product like ipod with serial number for them to actually help. I got rid of my ipod a long time ago, so I guess the option of talking to a non-robotic person will not work for some reason. A specialist gave me over 10 articles as to why itunes wont start with windows vista, things such as msconfig (changing startup options), uninstalling and reinstalling, having latest updates for firewall, itunes, among others which I already possess, Opening itunes on another user account and other too. I've tried all of these options and the only thing that I gained from all of these articles was I can open itunes on my different user account but when I do, it does not have any of my music on it. I have uninstalled itunes and reinstalled it before and the music has automatically showed up in itunes, but in the user account it does not do this. Does anyone know what the problem could be, it shouldn't be that hard for apple to provide a specialist to sit down after 30 minutes of eating there creme filled donuts and actually provide some customer service for the first time in history. Rhapsody has sat down for 2 and half hours and fixed my problem many times, (there based in the middle east and I can hardly understand them yet they were way more effient than itunes was). All I want is my precious metal music back which I poured over 100 dollars into. Thank you for everybodies support in trying to help me and others with same topic.

+I have checked in task manager and the programs itunes.exe and ituneshelper.exe are in the processes window but the program is not visible on the desktop.+
that usually means your security software is blocking it. Norton, McAfee, or whatever you use - try temporarily shutting it off and see if itunes will fully launch.

  • My ipod is displying apple logo and wont start up, hard reset leaves it the same, disc mode works but iTunes doesnt "see" it even if the computer does.

"My ipod is displaying apple logo and wont start up, hard reset leaves it the same, disc mode works but iTunes doesn't "see" it even if the computer does."
It worked two days ago fine, for two years, until I installed this newest iTunes update, then for one day it kept on freezing and going to apple logo screen mode, then today it only goes to that screen and wont start up at all.
I've tried the hold down two buttons hard reset, that doesn't help. I've tried disc mode... but iTunes doesn't "see" it even if the computer does.
This is a pristine ipod, never exposed to adverse conditions, never dropped, never wet, and it worked perfectly two days ago.
Can I factory reset it somehow? (considering itunes can't "see" it)
[Ipod classic 160gb less than two years old.]

Looks like I might have found the solution on a youtube comment:
    R.O:
"Plug into you laptop first, whichever set up you use that has iTunes, i know it won't read it, don't even open iTunes as of yet. Do the typical reboot "Menu +Center button at the same time" and hold it, DONT LET IT GO like we were told, when the apple pops up.. KEEP HOLDING IT it will make a new ding sound I've never heard before. and since its hooked to you laptop already an error message pops up and says apple will need to download something to repair your iPod. I when u see that that when i let reboot buttons go. hit ok on the laptop something downloads for like 20 seconds then the iTunes icon hops around when you open it it has a screen with an iPod classic on it and says "Software version blah blah, iTunes will check for an update on such n such date" AND FINALLY there's a "Restore" button. click that and you will be back to square one with your iPod. Renaming , adding all the music on it, but it will work again, finally. "
I had to do it twice, because my mac froze the first time, but its recognized it now and is downloading the software as we speak...
Now I've clicked the restore button and it's restoring... I'll post again if its a success, otherwise assume failure.

  • Music wont play after pause

    I have a little issue with mpd+ncmpcpp.
When i start a song, and then pause it, if i want to listen to youtube fx. when i then wanna hear the music again it wont start.
When i start a song, it says playing for about 1 second, then just change back to pause. To make it work i have to logout and in again, or reboot. It's really annoying. Do any of you have an answer to this?

  • After installing Mountain Lion, my iTunes app wont start, why ???

After installing Mountain Lion, my iTunes app wont start, why ??? It bounces in the dock, then "Unexpectedly Quirs"

    Let's keep it simple...
    1) Make a new user - the steps are in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1199
    2) Log into that user, open iTunes, agree, etc. - it will probably work
    3) If it does, it tells us that iTunes (the program) is fine but it's encountering something unexpected
    4) Go back to your user, and try to open iTunes while holding option and making a new library - like suggested in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1589
    5) Your iTunes will be empty. This is ok. Your files are not touched by this process.
    6) If iTunes doesn't quit when loading an empty library, you could try rebuilding the iTunes Library as Apple documents in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1451
    7) If iTunes does quit, it could be trying to grab something - like photo information to sync to your iPad - and that's where it finds the unexpected data. Maybe try moving the iPod Photo Cache? http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1324 should guide you for how to do that.
If you tell us whether it is library-specific, user-specific, or system-wide (happens in both users), we could maybe give you better advice on what's going on.'
If the new user has the same behavior, maybe remove the SC Info folder - there are not many system-wide files iTunes touches. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1389 covers how to remove that invisible folder.
iTunes uses /Applications/iTunes.app, /Users/Shared/SC Info, ~/Music/iTunes/ and ~/Library/Preferences/ and a bunch of other files. I don't think focusing on /Applications/iTunes/app or other system-wide files is going to be as effective as knowing whether the issue is system-wide or user-specific.
I hope this helps and feel free to reply if this is all confusing.

  • Garageband wont start after update to ilife 09

i update my ilife from 08 to 09, and now my garageband wont start anymore,it stucks everytime i start and the window "initialize" will not close.
at this point i try everything, delete the preference files in "user -libery-preferences" ,starting with apple -install-DVD and repair permission.
also delete garagaband 09 and re-install GB 08, after this and deleting pref-files again garagband 08 will start normaly
then i try again to update to Gb 09...and it stucks again when the app launch.
GB 09 will only shows the initialize window and stuck !
    Please help

i had the same problem when i got my new macbook. I even tried to restore the whole OS then it finally works. But then it crashes again after i install some other program. I suspect the garageband 09 crash with some specific music program...but i still can't figure out which one. I've installed Garritan Personal orchestra, Emu 0404 driver, melodyn essential after that, i bet one of these program have problem.
What about you, have you got any other music program in your mac?

Rebooting will not make you lose any content. Rebooting is when you hold the home button and the sleep button down at the same time until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
You can these suggestions. One might work for you.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.

  • Ipod wont start but syncs normally

I have a problem that seemed to arrive about the same time as Apple updated iTunes to 5.0. My iPod Photo 60gb wont start up to play music anymore. It shows a picture signaling some error and the URL to Apples support site (apple.com/support/ipod) for a few seconds, then shuts of. Apples site gives no clues as to what's the matter though.
The strange thing is that the iPod seems to be working ok when connected to the Mac. It syncs normally and seems to be working as a harddisk.
I have tried a hard reset holding down those two buttons but this does not resolve the problem. I have also tried to download the latest software for the iPod from Apples website, but this won't install.
Does anyone know what to do?

Well... my iPod is not starting at all. even after the steps this tutorial told me to do. i was trying to pick a song on my iPod and then all of a sudden it froze for about 3 minutes and then shut off. and i havent been able to turn it on since. the battery was charged and not low. i tried toggling the hold button and hitting reset even while it was charging with the battery and still nothing. all i hear is the iPod going "vroooom beep" over and over. like its trying to start but cant. its been doing that for almost 12hrs and i dont know what else to do. please help.
