Must be a bug in the Score display

This is a continuation of my exploring the problem previously posted re the display of all instruments in a 2 track score (see previous topic).
I tried a new experiment and am now convinced it is some kind of bug. Here is what I did:
1. Closed LE8. Trashed the Logic Express preferences in Home/Library/com.apple etc. Emptied trash and restarted LE8.
2 Started a brand new composing project: 2 software instrument tracks. Chose from the library: flute for track 1 and classical guitar for track 2.
3. Entered a few notes in each track using the step input keyboard. I then opened the score view and voila! there were both tracks. The All Instruments dropdown menu was showing as selected.
4. Then I selected one of the tracks to view the settings, and the score view reverted to a single staff again! I changed NO preferences or selections, other than clicking on Track 1 or 2.
5. This has got to be a bug. Any ideas???

Err, so where's the problem, Herb?
It's normal that Logic just displays one staff if you select a track. Just double click somwhere on a "blank piece of paper" inside the score window, and you'll be switched back to all instruments.

Is there a bug in the score layout drop-down?

I have a project with 6 software instrument tracks, each track is one region. When I select all tracks and try using the score editors drop down Layout option"create score from selection" I never get the top most track in the score.. I have tried creating a new score set but it still leaves the top track out of the score. There are no hidden or muted regions and no MIDI data tracks. I am still in OS10.5.8 because I am watching other forums to see if pro users are moving up and all I see are big problems with 10.6, I may do what they are doing and change my MBP to 10.6 then 10.7 and see what works, but my main work is done on the iMac so I need to figure this out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This happens also when I choose "All Instruments" score set-shouldn't that default show all the tracks?

Thanks christiano and Jim, but that causes my 9.1.1 to change the position, length and pitch of 90% of the regions' notes. I have been repeating the same copy paste commands for 4 hours and now they seem slowly to begin to work[Jobs has left the building]. I did try before my original post the option dragging in the Arrange but as I wrote it causes too many mistakes, unless there are only a simple repeated series of a single note-THEN it decides to work.
Any other ideas would be interesting but Apple should get the copy paste in the score going too.

A bug in the score program

If I enter an 1/8 note rest at the beginning of a measure then if the following note length is an odd multiple of an 1/8 note , the score shows the right value.
If the following note is an even multiple of an 1/8 note, the note length in the score is increased by an 1/8 note. Example: 1/8 rest followed by a 1/4 note becomes 1/8 note rest followed by a tied 1/8 note and 1/4 note. The piano roll indicates the correct lengths and positions. Since the piano roll and score are tied together, changing one changes the other. No quantization was used in the tests I ran and data were entered with the step input keyboard. I exported a midi file and imported it to Finale. The Finale score indicated the same score values. Which representaion (score or piano roll) determines the note lengths in the midi file?
Note: The same thing occurs in Logic Express 9

Bug in the "Photos" display folder

After updating my iPhone 4 with iOS 4.3.5, I'm facing the following bug.
If you have more then 7 folders with personal pictures and you enter in the application "Photos", the first folder (Rullino Foto in italian) is hidden by the light gray bar "Album" and then you cannot click this folder.
The only way to overcome this bug is using the application "Camera" and then click in the lower back icon with the last picture you take.
This is an annoying bug that I hope you will fix soon.

In any event, the bug you mention is known and the trigger for it is not the number of albums (though you have to have enough to require scrolling for it to happen). You can fix it though by leaving the photo-app, double-tapping the home button to bring up the running app list, and removing the photo app from the list (hold your finger on the icon until it jiggles, click the 'x'). Next time you use the photo app, the problem should be gone.

HT4623 Looks like a Bug in the Default Mail application of iOS 6 in an iPhone 4S

In the mail application of my iPhone 4S running iOS6, while composing a new email, the recipients field marked as "To: " doesn't respond in a single tap rather requires two or three and sometimes even more taps for the blue input bar to appear and enable typing of the recipient's email address.
I have tried resetting the iPhone completely to factory settings and erasing everything several times, but the problem still persists.
It has nothing to do with the suggested automatic recipient addresses as the field doesn't gets activated itself in first tap and the blue bar doesn't appear unlike all other fields such as, "Subject", Cc, etc. It looks as if the touch screen didn't get any feedback and hence returned no response.
Once after a few tapping trials, the blue input bar appears indicating the field ready for the recipient's address to be typed and then everything gets normal from there.
Rest all the applications and everything on the iPhone is working perfectly fine with no problems anywhere at all.
Kindly suggest the necessary measures.
Also, I am facing exactly the similar situation with my iPod Touch 4th generation running on iOS 6 as well. This has made me conclude that it must be a bug in the mailing application.
Both the devices are only a month old. Also they are configured for different account s and have completely different dat from one another as the ipod touch is being used by my sister who has a separate masbook to sync it.

That connection is supported for tethering....

Crashing while trying changin settings in Score display

Can anyone offer insight into this?
Logic will crash (SOMETIMES) when I change the score display from the long linear display to normal score . (the last button, that looks like a page). It doesn't do it everytime. It seems less likely to do it, if transport is statationary. Here is the crashed thread..
I deleted HIToolbox.plist (as someone suggested that 2 months back). Although at one point, it appeared that did some good.. I don't think so know. That doesn't seem to help.
When this first started exhibiting this behavior last nite, I went back two earlier versions of song (I make new version with every significant change). Although the song didn't crash yesterday. It crashed this morning the very first time I changed display. It did not do this last nite - same version of song.
This suggests to me, that it is not a corrupt song, but something OSX is doing at the same time...Looking at activity monitor doesn't really tell me anything. (or at least what I can discern from my limited knowledge of OSX.

I was able to import an AAF without media attached. So basically I got
the timeline to import into Premiere. Maybe you are then supposed to get
copies of the source files (not the mxf files but the source that
created the mxf?) and link to the source files?
I'm having the same problem. I've tried to export different AAF's from Avid. Either linked to original location, consolidated to folder or embedded. Premiere will either crash on import, or import the sequence with audio but all video offline.
I've been through what I can find of documentation, and there seem to be scant few details about what kind of AAF's Premiere will accept.

Very Important, how much Free Space is on your Hard Drive first of all? Click on the Macintosh HD on the Desktop, then do a Get Info on it.
First, Safe Boot , (holding Shift key down at bootup), use Disk Utility from there to Repair Permissions, test if things work OK in Safe Mode.
Open Activity Monitor in Applications>Utilities, select All Processes & sort on CPU%, any indications there?
How much RAM & free space do you have also, click on the Memory & Disk Usage Tabs.
In the Memory tab, are there a lot of Pageouts?

Display bug in the Flash update (10.0.2)

So I installed the Flash CS4 update that was released in May and for the most part I'm happy with the changes. There's at least one huge bug, though: the display doesn't update correctly when the start frame is changed on a graphic symbol via any means other than by typing it into the "first" box in the properties panel. This may not seem like a problem -- how else would you change it, after all? Well, by hitting "undo", for instance, after you changed it via the "first" box. Or via JSFL. That's the biggest problem for me: I have a bunch of JSFL commands I wrote that are pretty much integral to my animation process that changed the start frame of a graphic symbol, but the display no longer updates correctly when I use those.
So my question is: has anyone else run into this problem? I've encountered it on multiple installations so I'm pretty sure it's integral to the update. Has anyone figured out a way to fix it, or at least a workaround? Perhaps a way in JSFL to force a display update?

Thank you very much for letting us know about this one. I hate to hear about this, and have reproduced both problems and filed them internally.
As for the JSFL, a workaround could be to manually select the Stage in JSFL:
document.setSelectionRect({left:0, top:0, right:0, bottom:0});
You could select an area of the Stage that contains the instance instead if you want it to remain selected.

I got the same problem, I think it must be a bug of ORACLE or gcc.

When I use gcc to make the *.cpp file which is made by Proc and I get an error that "undefined function sqlcxt". A lot of people get the same problem, so I think it must be a bug of ORACLE or gcc!!

Can you provide the exact sequence of steps. - Also have you tried Refresh diagram from struts-config?

How do I display the score while I'm recording?

Every time I record, the score cuts to the new track I'm recording which is blank. In the MIDI score I have the notes written out I want to sing - how do I have the program display that while I'm recording?

Looks like you've been waiting a long time for a reply on this one! Let me have a go for you.
The first thing to realise is that the score editor is hierarchical. To see what I mean, create MIDI regions on two separate software instrument tracks.
When you open the score editor, you only see one of them, unless you click on the right-angled arrow in the top left had corner of the score menu icon bar. Then you can see all the MIDI regions at the higher level (hence my reference to hierarchy. his is part of the solution you need.
The trouble is, even if you are looking at the top level, Logic changes the content of the score editor to show only the region that is being recorded. Clearly, that's no good. However, if you use the independent score window (Window > Score or press Command-3) and use hierarchies to see all regions, you can crack this quite easily.
Use the separate score window and the hierarchy button and you should be able to do all you need - I've just tried it and it works OK.

I know. Same issue here. When I'm not recording but have the video camera on, the autofocus works fine. As soon as I tap the record button and recording starts, the focus is locked until I tap on the screen to focus. I haven't used the camera all that much because of this problem.

It must be possible to retrieve the actual pixel pitch of the physical display, but how?

This seems to be a reoccurring question on these forums, but I have yet to find an answer. Here's my problem:
I'm working on an assignment at work for a graphical simulator project in which it is necessary to match the dimensions of a physical display device. Some of the people who review our code are rather picky about this, so we don't have the choice of
fudging it. We must create a viewport for rendering with (ideally) the same physical dimensions.
I've tried a couple approaches, and I figured out pretty quickly that the Windows device context stuff doesn't work with actual device pixel patch, but rather logical pixel pitch. I have been expecting though that Windows calculates the logical pixel
pitch from the actual. How else could varying resolutions still work on the same display? It must know the physical dimensions somehow in order to calculate it, right?
The closest that I got was this approach, which digs into the registry: http://ofekshilon.com/2011/11/13/reading-monitor-physical-dimensions-or-getting-the-edid-the-right-way/ . Unfortunately, the resulting "dimensions" for my 24"
1920x1200 (16:10) monitor were 512mm x 256mm, which you don't need to convert to inches before you realize that the aspect ratio is 2:1, not 16:10.
Any other ideas? Does Windows even store physical display information? I was pretty confident that it must store it somehow, but now I'm thinking that maybe Windows makes some assumptions about pixel pitch and manufacturers have just adapted
to it.
We would prefer to solve this problem with a system call (or series of system calls), but if this approach is not reliable or simply not available, then we will have to settle this the old fashioned way and have the user input the monitor dimensions.

Short version: There is no general solution. You'll have to allow the user to specify it. You can make some guesses based on EDID information - monitor names, etc.
There are certainly scenarios for which there is no acceptable solution at all. For example: if the so-called "physical display" is a projector, or if the device receiving the video connection is capture device.
EDID's can be faked/spoofed, as is the case with something like a KVM, splitter, or extender. They can also be replaced -- the nvidia NVAPI allows for replacing an EDID for example.
Also, if the idea is to provide a "viewport" with the same dimensions as the display, you should be aware that the system can be placed into a "clone" mode where the same video frame buffer is used to generate video for two different
video output jacks and therefore potentially two (or more) physically different displays simultaneously, again leaving us with no single answer.
So now that you know that your program has no general solution, you can decide which specific cases you'd like to try to handle. The first, and most applicable solution, is to allow the user to provide the physical metadata. This makes anything
possible and gives the user control over what is going on. You MUST provide this as an option -- anything you do beyond this is "icing on the cake", so to speak.
The second step is now to make aspects of this easier. You can detect, infer, or deduce some topology by reading EDIDs, or otherwise being clever, but you should still allow the user to be able to override what this guess in case it is wrong. You
can infer, based on a model number, for example, what the physical dimensions are. Perhaps it's easier to define it once for each physical device the user will be using, and then as the software runs it can detect topological changes (system sees a device
that it has seen before has moved to a different part of the desktop or a different jack.) The EDIDS will give you the bulk of the information you should be using for such guessing.
As for fonts, Windows uses 96 pixels per inch (ppi) as the baseline for converting pixels to points, and rendering fonts at a size appropriate for the desktop. This is the setting unless the system is determined to be using a high resolution display
at OS install time (judged solely by the resolution of the display in pixels) in which case it uses a higher desktop resolution setting. This setting can be adjusted after OS install time too, but basically the net effect is the conversion between points
and pixels uses a different constant. So content for most displays is effectively rendered at 96 ppi or 120 ppi -- and this setting applies uniformly across the entire desktop, not just one display.
[Printers are a little different than displays and know the physical size of the paper.]

Bugs on the display of my menu banner on my Website

I did the menu of my Website in a Flash banner with Adobe Flash CS4.

In the Website pages, the banner show a different frame of the timeline on each page to show to the visitor that he is visiting the
specified page.
To do that, I did a FlashVars parameter to the swf file at each html page of the Website, that do the job well as long as the bug happen... The code for this look like that:

In the first frame of the timeline, in the actions layer of the Flash file I wrote that AS2 to interact with the html files :
gotoAndStop(actif);
stop();
The problem is that the buttons of the menus sometimes disappears partly (some buttons only) or entirely ( all the buttons disappears and all that left is the lines separating the buttons). Also, sometimes the whole banner disappears leaving a grey square.
The bug is more frequent in Safari, but also happen in Google Chrome and Internet Explorer 7 and 8. I didn't saw that bug in Mozilla firefox...
I can add the attachments of my flash file if it helps to resolve the problem, but please visit the site to see the bug. The problem is not in the Flash file itself or in the html file, it's the interection between each others.

score will be calculated automatically as per the formula u defined in value field and assignment table.
Score will be changed if the plan data in the cube is changed.
If u apply data slices in BPS then the data can be locked for any more changes and the score cannot be changed.
