Must enter iCloud Password at every login

Since migrating to new Mac mini from MBP, I am now asked to enter my iCloud Password at every login or restart (see image). However, when entering my password, I get an endless loop of the same dialog box. How do I stop this from happening?

Thank you for the solution that worked for me. I signed out completely from iCloud, then signed back in and the dialog boxes went away.
I suspect during the migration process not all iCloud associations were re-connected, but who knows?
Thanks again!

You could go to Settings>General>Passcode Lock and set a password to secure all your      personal data.
Matthew - in which program are our suggesting going to Settings?

If you still have access to your old email address, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email account and verify it.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  You can now go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your correct iCloud ID and password.
If you don't have access to your old email address, you will have to contact Apple to have them reset the password so you can disable Find My iPhone and sign into your iCloud account.  You can either go to https://expresslane.apple.com, select "More Products and Services", then "Apple ID", then  on the next page select "Other Apple ID Topics", then "Lost or forgotten Apple ID password" and click "Continue"; or you can contact Apple Support (http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/).

  • Since the last software update for mountain lion I am having a problem when moving screenshots to trash. Now a Finder box appears saying finder wants to make changes and I have to enter my password for every action.

Since the last software update for mountain lion, I am having a problem when trying to remove any screenshots to the trash. A box appears saying "Finder wants to make changes. Type your password to allow this"
I have checked Finder Preferences and cannot find any box that I can 'UNTICK' to resolve this. I sometimes take a lot of screenshots when I am researching something and now find I have to enter my password for every screenshot to be removed to trash.
Anyone got a solution please, Thanks

each day i must enter my password and reenter my email accout, mail works ok all day next day same thing. same email account works ok on my firefox help!

If your password is accepted, and Mail connects to the account, but you're prompted for the password repeatedly, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Note: these steps don't apply if the server rejects the password. That's a different problem.
    Step 1
When prompted for the password, check the box marked Remember this password in my keychain.
    Step 2
Check that the keychain is working.
    Step 3
Check that the default keychain is unlocked.

I forgot my Icloud password and every things about it

    Hey mirnaw,
If you for got your iCloud password, you can reset it by following the steps in the article below. You will need to know the information that you setup with it, like security questions and birthdate. If you are stuck an need more assistance, then you will need to contact Apple for additional support

  • Is there anyway to avoid having to re-enter iCloud password each time I log into my iPhone?

I just updated to iOS5 and I want to use ICloud for backup. However, everytime I log into my iPhone, it wants me to re-enter my iCloud password. I have a passcode enabled on my iPhone so I'm hoping I don't have to re-enter the iCloud password everytime. Does anyone know if there is a way to prevent this from happening?
I'm even OK with having to sync to iCloud manually in some way so that only then do I have to enter the iCloud password, but I don't see anyway to configure it to be run manually. Does anyone know if that is possible?
Thanks for any help on this.
    Chris

    Hi,
In Keychain Access app in the Menu for the App is Keychain First Aid.
If you open this is the tick box for Synchronising the Login password with the so called Login Keychain ticked ?

  • Why do I keep getting message to enter iCloud password?

Whenever I quit Mail and then reopen it, I get a drop-down message: "Mail can't connect to the iCloud account 'xxxx@mecom'. Enter password for user 'xxxx'." I enter my password, and all is well. Looking at Mail>System Preferences>Internet accounts>iCloud>Mail is checked. Looking at OS System Preferences>iCloud, my Apple ID is ok, Name is ok, Description is ok (iCloud). This problem started 2 days ago. What am I missing? Why isn't my Password being retained?

same thing started happening to me today. I never actually use it, but I keep connected just in case i need it. Could be a keychain prob with mav. Noticed my apple login key is in there twice, but only one has a cert. I think the cert is for my Itunes tho.

  • How do I disable a entering a password when I login to my Mac?

When I first got my MBA I was told to choose a password that i would enter at login, because it would make my computer safer. I have decided that since my computer never leaves my desk and I am the only one in my apartment. That I want to disable my password on my mac. The only thing close to this that I can find is how to change my password to something different. But I would just like to stop entering a password altogether.
I am not sure if this is possible, please help me. Thanks

I was just about to add what Babowa beat me to.
An option she forgot to mention is to set up two user accounts. One is an admin account only used to administer the computer. The second is the operating account. It is a Standard or Managed account in which the use of a password isn't so necessary because a standard account user cannot administer the computer. But whenever you want to make changes requiring the password, then you have to logout of your standard account and log into the Admin account.

  • How do I delete my "pre-entered" iCloud password from other devices on my account?

I set up "Find My iPhone" on my kids' phones by logging into iCloud on each device.  But now, my iCloud password is now "pre-entered" (but not shown) onto each of their devices.  How do I delete the password so that no one can log into my iCloud account?  If one of their phones were stolen and someone figured out their 4 digit passcode (not that difficult) that person would have access to my iCloud account and could just turn off the "find my iPhone" feature.  What am I missing???

You can set up a restriction with a different passcode by going to Setting>General>Restrictions>Accounts (near the bottom) and setting it to not allow changes.  This will prevent access to the iCloud setting without turning off restrictions with the passcode, but it's still a 4-digit passcode and can be defeated by forcing the phone into recovery mode and restoring it.  (This would erase the phone, however.)
If you do enable restrictions, be sure to write down the passcode.  If you ever forget it, you cannot turn off restrictions without restoring the phone as new, without using a backup made while the restrictions passcode was set on it.

  • Why do i have to re-enter my password with every purchase

And why does it not ever work with the 2nd purchase?

    Hi phog,
When you're entering the password, are you being sure to check the "remember this network" checkbox that's on the box where you type your password in? If you don't, every time you reconnect to your network, you'll be asked to re-enter it. Also, is this happening only when you restart your machine or wake it from sleep, or is it happening every time you quit your browser and re-open it?
Keep at it! There's a learning curve with any new equipment, but as someone who switched from PCs myself about five years ago, I can tell you that it's worth it.
    Hope that helps!

  • Why am i being asked to enter icloud password on ipad a lot?

i changed my icloud password recently and now am regularly being asked to enter my password when on my ipad.  Did i miss a setting?

    Hi JOfromON,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
From your post I understand that you have recently changed your Apple ID password, and since then have been getting repeatedly prompted to enter in your password on the iPad.  I'd like you to first sign out of iCloud, and then sign back in with your new information.
On your iOS device: Go to Settings > iCloud, then at the bottom of the screen, tap Sign Out (Delete Account in iOS 7 and earlier).
    iCloud: Change iCloud feature settings
    Cheers,
    Alex H.
