Must photos be in a specific resolution in order to transfer successfully

Is there a resolution requirement/suggestion for photos to transfer to an ipod touch? Any photos I try to xfer via iTunes Synch won't transfer to my new iPod Touch (2nd gen v3.0) if they are over 2.5 MB. Perhaps there is a recomended resolution the original photos must be in.

Hey ellenkk
The best way to get the songs in the order that you want is to make a playlist and then sync it over. Once the playlist is set, all you have to do is set to sync playlist in the music tab.

Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. Hope this helps. Good luck. Cheers.

  • Photo sync in full size resolution

    Hey there,
since 3 day I have now a Ipad 3. gen and have some questions regarding the transfer from high resolution photos (8mpx) to the Ipad.
Currently I only knew the way to syncronize with Itunes.
When I'm doing this, the photos seems to be resizes because on hdd the folder has 1Gb and Itunes says on Ipad are only 600MB.
How can I transfer the photos without resizing?
    As I'm a windows user, I don't have IPhoto.
I'm using Lightroom 4 for photo management.
what I have seen on Ipad is, that the Ipad says that no space is used for photos, but photos are available for watching.
    Thanks for helping.
    Jörg

During testing time in a shop I have tested the camera connection kit and it seems to work fine and copies the files from card to IPad without resizing.
However I hoped that there could be an other, more straight way, for example by an (hidden) setting for Itunes.
Also another way seems to use for example Photo Manager Pro http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/photo-manager-pro/id393858562?mt=8 and to transfer photos by using ftp to the IPad.

  • Since syncing with iCloud all my photos in my photo app are much lower resolution than they were before. Can anyone explain what happened an how I might get back my high resolution photos?

Since syncing with iCloud all my photos in my photo app are much lower resolution than they were before. Can anyone explain what happened an how I might get back my high resolution photos?

    Thanks again.
Unfortunately I don't have iPhoto (running Windows).
    I did, however, figure out a work-around.
I created an empty directory on my computer, and told iTunes to "Sync Photos from..." that empty directory. This deleted all the photos from the iPod (go figure).
I then set the "Sync Photos from..." dropdown back to directory that actually contained all my photos, and sync'd again.
And, yes, they all loaded onto the iPod at their better, higher resolution.
Thanks for all your help. Photos (and wallpaper) are perfect, again

  • Can I disable photo stream only on specific WIFI connection?

    Hi,
I just purchased a mobile router with a data limit 50MB/day for my old iPhone 4.
This iPhone 4 only connects to WIFI network.
I like photo stream and want to keep using it with my unlimited family WIFI network, but, the problem is when I connect it to my mobile route through WIFI, the photo stream won't stop working.   That cause my 50M/day plan runs out in a minute.
So, is there a way to disable photo stream only on specific WIFI connection?
I tried iPhone Configuration Utility and it seems not have a function like that.
    Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the Apple Community Katie.
It is the purpose of photo stream to sync all photos to all devices, the only way to remove the photos from the computer without affecting other devices is to turn photo stream off.

  • I'm finally moving my photos from my PC to my MacBook Pro.  I have 8 years worth of photos organized into very specific albums.  Can I import the album structure directly into iPhoto or am I going to have to recreate everything in iPhoto?

I'm finally moving my photos from my PC to my MacBook Pro.  I have 8 years worth of photos organized into very specific albums.  Can I import the album structure directly into iPhoto or am I going to have to recreate everything in iPhoto?

If you want to duplicate your Folder Tree in iPhoto:
Start at the bottom of the hierarchy and drag a folder of images to the Album Heading in iPhoto. The pics will be imported and an Album of the same name created.
You can then create the Enclosing Folders in the iPhoto Window (File -> New Folder) and drag the Album to it. Folders can contain other Folders (Nested Folders) and Albums.
However, is your folder system date based? Then this form of organisation is a bit pointless in iPhoto when Smart Albums or the Calendar tool (Click on the wee magnifying glass in the Search Box) mean you can find the photos taken on any day, month or year at a click. With Smart Albums it's easy to find photos from specific range - say, June 3 to August 25, 2009 etc.
If your folder system is theme based - Xmas pics, Birthday pics etc, then you'll find Keywords are much more flexible, and can be used in conjunction with other criteria for making Smart Albums and searches.

  • Photo editing software that specifically has tools that stack images?

I want to invest in photo editing software that specifically has tools that stack images so that a can merge them into one photo (Image J just isn't good enough anymore)
Please can you advise which products have these functions.
    Auto-blending might be nice too.
    Thanks.

Download the trial of either Photoshop or Photoshop Elements and put your images into layers.  Try different blend modes.

  • [help] How to limit gnome started using a specific resolution?

TV via vga interface, the default will use the 1920 * 1080 resolution, however, when the TV will prompt "mode is not supported"! Tests found under Windows supports up to 1280 * 1024, another big mistakes!
Ask, gnome how to limit starts to use a specific resolution?
    Thank you!

Please remove the "[help]" from your title.  All threads in that subforum are requests for help.  The inclusion of things like that, "please help", etc are both unnecessary and somewhat irritating to many members of this community.  It is not required that yu remove it, but I would strongly recommend it.

  • All of my music and photos are on my iphone.  I want to transfer them to my new PC.  How do I do it?

My old PC crashed.   All of my songs and photos are on my iphone. I want to transfer my (1) photos to my new computer, and (2) my 2800 songs (only 300 or so of which I purchased through iTunes) to iTunes on my new PC.  I have tried everyhting!  I can see the about 300 songs (must be the ones I purchased on iTunes) in iTunes on my new PC.  I can see the other 2500 songs in iTunes on my new PC, but they are in gray font and I can't play them.  I need to clean songs and photos off of my iphone ASAP because it is full and doesn't work well, but I don't want to do so if there is a risk that I will loose them or have to reload 300 music CDs to my new computer.

To sync photos from a Mac or Windows PC to your device using photo applications
Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed.
In iTunes, select your device's icon in the Devices list on the left.
    Click the Photos tab.
    Choose "Sync photos from."
On a Mac, choose iPhoto or Aperture from the pop-up menu.
On a Windows PC, choose Photoshop Album or Photoshop Elements from the pop-up menu.
Note: Some versions of Photoshop Album and Photoshop Elements don't support collections. You can still use them to sync all your photos.
If you want to sync all your photos, enable the option for "All photos, albums, events, and faces." If you want to sync photos from only some albums, events, or faces, enable the option for "Selected albums, events, and faces" and then select the albums you want. If syncing on a Mac with iPhoto version 6.0.6 or later, you may enable the option to "Include videos" to sync videos directly from iPhoto to your device. (Requires iOS 3.0 or later).
    Click Apply.
To sync photos from a folder on your hard disk to your device
Drag the images you want into a folder on your computer. If you want images to appear in separate photo albums on your device, create folders inside the main folder and drag images into the new folders.
In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left.
    Choose "Sync photos from."
Select Choose Folder from the pop-up menu and choose your main image folder.
    Click Apply.

  • Why won't the photo gallery on the iPhone stay in order?

Hi! Question... I used to have the first iPhone, and when I'd upload my photo album thru iTunes, it would put all of the pictures in alphabetical order. I really liked that, because I could find pictures of all my friends and things by name super-quick.
Now I have the G3, and when I add a photo, it goes at the end of the album, no matter what I name it. Is there a work around for this frustrating new snafu?
    Thanks for any advice...
    Staci Layne

I have a similar problem. My iPhone is set up to sync a smart album from iPhoto of every photo I've given a rating of one to five stars. Most of the photos appear in the Photo album in my iPhone in chronological order, although there are some that appear in random places.
I've removed and resynced all the photos, as well as changed the dates on the impacted photos and then changed them back. No luck.

  • Photos not showing in the correct time order in the timeline

On a recent holiday I was using both my iPhone and my dSLR to take photos. When I returned from holiday I noticed that the time on my dSLR was wrong. After I had imported the photos into the photo mac app I changed the timestamps to the correct one.
Unfortunately not all of the photos reordered themselves correctly in the timeline. They are no-longer in time order, near time order, but not perfect.
For example the first photo in the timeline currently starts at 12:30, about 5 photos later the timestamp is 11:20.
How do I get my photos to display in the correct time order in the timeline?

I think I've figured it out,
When I put in the time for my SLR I set the time zone to the holiday destination.
Despite having a local sim card and the iPhone correctly geotagging me in the location, not all the timezones on the iPhone photos are correct, some are home time zone, others are holiday timezone.
To fix it I used the adjust time tool to change the time zone, but leave the time the same and the photos magically reorganised into the correct place.
It seems the timezone is as important as time. I hope that helps other people

The camera roll is not part of the sync process at all.
You should be importing these photos to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera.  Youc an organize them on your computer and sync the to the iphone if you wish.
The photos sync from the computer to the iphone is one way.
The iphone mirrors the selected content of the computer to which it is synced.

When you are viewing the tracks on the hard disc, did you then click on "Import CD"?  This is needed to initiate the importing process that will add the tracks to your library.
