Must render everything in Premiere Pro before sending to Encore?
I think the answer is no, I DON'T have to have EVERYTHING in the Premiere Pro sequence that I'm sending to Encore completely rendered as I don't think I see any problems BUT am I missing something?
Thanks in advance for guidance here.
Moral: don't walk away! Ha, ha!
All rendering does is create preview files. This helps realtime playback. In the end, you don't want to use those when you transcode (create the actual file that will be used as the final product).
Dynamic link simply creates a link to one of the PR sequences, and when it is time to create the DVD format, Encore (or since CS5 you have the option for Adobe Media Encoder) will transcode the PR sequence into a file that EN will use to "build" the disk.
You need to look at some of the threads on Macs and external drives. Sorry, can't point you to a specific one, but I suspect someone else can.
http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere?view=overview
Edit: Here's a post that explains a bit of this differently. There are lots of particulars, and you have the choice of using your preview files. But the prevailing wisdom is that you get better quality if you use "maximum render quality" which does not use old preview files.

How to increase render speed in premiere pro
Hey Everyone,
Is there a way to speed up the render time in premiere pro? I do realize on my mac the processor isn't the fastest. I have 8 gigs of ram and But, I have all other programs closed, I only have premiere running and I don't have a lot of special effects. I only have some keyframes but nothing complex. Does anyone know what is going on? Every time I make a small change it takes hours to render a small section. When I started this project it didn't take as long. I only select the option to render the change I just made and not the whole video. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advanced and an intel core 2 duo processor which sin't the fastest but for a small change and a simple video 4 hours to render a section is ridiculous and frustrating and this didn't happen before. There are two primary things you can do to speed up rendering.
1. Get a faster CPU
2. Turn on hardware acceleration. (Or if already turned on, get a faster GPU.)
There are some secondary actions you can also do.
1. Add more memory.
2. Get more/faster hard drives.
And finally a third method which may have some limited application.
1. Avoid QuickTime. -
Prior to obtaining CS2 I have been working with the other video/audio Adobe tools; Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, Encore DVD.
I fully expected to see integration of these products into the Bridge application after CS2 installation. I was disappointed, there does not appear to be any such integration. I do hope that this is in plan, and that I don't have to spend an "upgrade" fee to use integration that should have been there to begin with.
Even if there is no further integration, it would be nice to be able to continue using the Bridge as my "file manager" in the event I have to transfer my CS2 activation to another computer; after all I still have 4 licensed Adobe products installed on the machine, even if there not, quote, CS2 applications.I can't use Bridge with my video products anymore. I have 3 systems in my personal development environment. I am now past the 30 day period before activation of CS2 is required on my video editing machine. Now I am no longer able to use Adobe Bridge with my other Adobe (video) products.
Also, now I've noticed that the next level of video products is available, they now have Bridge integrated. As I anticipated in my first append, I cannot continue using Bridge with my Adobe video products unless I spend more money for an upgrade. If the intention is to have Bridge become an integral tool in the creative process, this policy is short sighted. It can't be that difficult to bring out an update for the CS2 level of bridge that would enable it to work with users that have AE 6.5 or PPro 1.5 installed. -
Premiere Pro CS4 (which includes Encore CS4) Failed to install
HI everyone, I am trying to reinstall Premiere Pro (which also includes Encore CS4) since I seem to be having some problems with the Blu-ray authoring in Encore. I uninstalled Premiere Pro from the Add/Delete Programs in Win XP Pro Control panel. After uninstalling, I'm trying to reinstall Premiere Pro/Encore programs. However, I'm getting an "Error Code 2" for Dynamic Link, Encore CS4, Encore CS4 Codecs, and the Encore US Language Pack. Then the install stops and fails to complete the installation.
Anyone have any ideas what's happening here? My system specs are below. I don't know what's wrong in order to fix it.
~thanks, Gail

In this way you can clean register also.
Good choice to switch off antiviruses.
Take also a look to the disks, are they clean?

Cordialement.

My recent update to Adobe CC 2014 apps has been an unmitigated disaster. Was running the 2013 version until last week and everything was just dandy. Very good performance and excellent render/encode times even for stuff with lots of filters and fx.
Since update 1-2 min videos with no fx or filters (or even transitions) have gone from exporting in under two minutes to well over 25 minutes. These exports are with the same presets I regularly use (Vimeo 720HD H.264).
I've been poking around the forums here for two days looking for answers and can't find anything that works. Tried the whole "App Nap" toggle as well as a few other tips. Didn't do squat. Looking for any hints/answers. Thanks.

All right. More experimentation has been done. Seems like the renaming of Adobe folders fix prescribed in the link below might have helped a bit.
Premiere Pro CC 2014 renders are painfully slow.
You can rename folders, but I prefer to do it this way: Premiere Pro CC freezing on startup or crashing while working (Mac OS X 10.9, and later)

Kicked out a 1 minute edit with some color/fx in under 10 minutes. Not as fast as in the past but at least the CPU seemed to be cranking at 500% and above per Activity Monitor. Its barely gone over 250% in previous attempts.
That sounds a lot better.

Same 1 minute edit took 35 minutes however when I exported from a PP timeline using MXF clips instead of QTs. I assumed the QTs would speed up the process but in the past I've gotten great performance on big old RED raw files so still a bit of mystery why I can't approach the speeds I had prior to most recent CC update.
Maybe updating your project file has something to do with it. I'll keep my eye on this issue. Thanks for reporting.

Why is my animation pixelated when I render it in Premiere Pro?
I have an animation I want to edit together with some mts and mov files in Premiere Pro. My AE settings are HDTV 25 and I use square pixels. When I export I used optimal settings and tried it both in avi and in mp4. My Premiere Pro settings are AVCHD 1080i25, also with square pixels. When I import the animation and interpret the footage, it looks fine. But as soon as I render the video, it becomes a bit blurry (I can see it in the parts with the text). At the same time, when I play the animation in a video player, it is crystal clear, so it can't be the quality of the screen shots I was animating, they are sharp. And the video is only supposed to be for the web. Does anyone know what I'm missing here?

Thanks for the reply.
Please check out John T. Smith's information.
At this point, if you could tell us the file extension of the file involved, that would give us a start while you are
gathering the rest of the details.
You can easily get some information for us from Properties for your imported video that is blurry in the Editor.
1. Click on Expert to get into the Expert workspace of Premiere Elements 13
2. If you have not already, import your file into the program using Add Media/Files & Folder/Project Assets.
3. Open Project Assets to see a thumbnail for the video that you just imported. Right click that thumbnail,
and select and click on Properties from the menu that opens.
4. Tell us what is listed there is Properties - it should look something like this one which is specific for one of my wmv files.
Your information will be specific to the file that you right clicked in your Project Assets.
From what you have written so far, yours should show
Image Size 1920 x 1080
Frame Rate either 59.94 or 60
Also, please go to Edit Menu/Project Settings/General, and tell us what you see for
Editing Mode
Timebase
Frame Size
Pixel Aspect Ratio
even if the fields look grayed out.
Your project settings may be contributing your Edit area previewing problems.
All of the above will keep us moving forward in the troubleshooting.
Thanks.

Long render time with premiere pro CS5 lately, help!
lately my premiere pro CS5 render extremely slow
i have a 6GB ram 64bit windows 7
is it normal to render a 10 minutes quicktime/h264 codec in 5 hours?
please take a note that this happened recently, so i think my pc spec. should not be the problem
thanks in advanceYou start off with the wrong sequence settings. To resolve that, right click on a clip in the project panel and select 'New Sequence from Clip". That will give you the correct sequence setting for your source material.
When exporting, never use QuiRcktime, since it is a 32 bit application, plagued with numerous severe problems, hence the name. Use plain 64 bit H.264 codec for exporting. If you use Maximum Render Quality, your export can take many times longer than without that checked.
Your memory and presumably the rest of your system (please give details) is not up to this task, especially not when you start with the wrong sequence settings, export with a 32 bit codec and have MRQ turned on. -
Render crash in Premiere Pro CC Windows 8.1
When I try to render 3 minutes of video with Premiere Pro CC with Windows 8.1 it says "Insufficient memory" and close program.
I set optimizes performance to memory (and not CPU)
I set the maximum virtual memory on Windows.
My computer is 8 core and it has 8Gb RAM (6 dedicated to Premiere)
What have I to do ?Please monitor memory usage in Task Manager while encoding. Does it ever get near the top of the graph?
The "Insufficient Memory" error is sometimes a red herring.
Have you tried both export paths? In the Export Settings dialog, the Export button (a.k.a., in-process encoding) and the Queue button (which queues the job to AME).
If you have GPU acceleration enabled, please set it to Software Only and try exporting. (In AME, as of CC7.1, you can now change the Renderer setting via a control in the bottom right corner of the Queue panel; in prior versions, the setting in Premiere Pro controlled AME's behavior in this regard.) -
Raytraced 3D does not render from within premiere pro
Mac OSX 10.10.1 + Premiere Pro 2014.2
Using Dynamic link to a 3D Camera track a HD sequence, I attach some text and switch on Ray Traced 3D to get a bevel effect. All works well in the software.
But when I render out from within Premiere and from within Media encoder, the text comes out with no bevel as if the Ray Traced 3D is turned off.
Anyone else getting this?
Any workarounds?I see, odd that it shows up as 3D inside Premiere Pro when you are playing back the timeline!
Is there a list somewhere of what doesn't work with Dynamic Link inside Premiere Pro ? -
Schlechte Render Qualität Premiere Pro CS6
Hi,
Frieder

Slow render time in Premiere Pro CS4 (with fast computer?)
Hello people on the Adobe Forums,
I hope someone can help me with this question, it's been bothering me a long long time now and this week i have to make a decision, or fix the problem and keep this configuration, or spend money for a new cpu (i5 750) and a new motherboard. But i think this computer should do better then it does. I have the following configuration:
AMD Athlon X2 4600+
Nvidia GeForce 7800GTX
2× 1Gb OCZ memory (DDR, PC2400, 250mhz)
Storage Disks:
Seagate 320GB SATA (7200, i think)
WD 74GB SATA (10.000RPM, OS)
Hitachi 500GB SATA (also 7200, i think)
WD 1TB USB (SATA) (extern hdd)
WD 250GB SATA (7200, i think)
So, i don't understand the problem, Premiere is running very slow on my computer.. The rendering of a 5min piece of just a random movie takes like 3 hours! Just right now i am rendering some things I filmed with my mobile, it does like 1 frame in 10sec!! On most pc's with this vice versa!
So the cpu is not that old, and neither is the videocard, meaby the memory is a little bit low.. Could that be the problem?
Hope you people can help me out, i searched Google and everywhere but can't find anyone with this problem..
List of software:
- Windows 7 Ultimate
- Adobe Premiere Pro CS4
Drivers are, as far as i know, all up to date, i updated the Adobe programs too..
Describe source material, Codec: XDCAM-EX Movie (mp4)
But like i said, it happens too avi too, it think that was DivX..
I bought this pc second-hand, so it could be that something in the processor is already broken and i didn't notice it at all.. i searched like everywhere and also tried too reinstall the program but that doesn't work either..
Some more info:

Ohye, and the PPBM: http://www.creadion.nl/premiere/Output_PPBM4.txt
With friendly regards,
MarinusWell, I'm helping other people too here on some dutch foras and i hate how people say things like "Doesn't work. Help" and just wait and wait for someone to answer. Plus i want to order my new hardware this evening (10:27pm now here), so meaby that's a 'cause' too, to make you people answer fast! (and it worked! hehe)
So, what i am thinking of right now is to upgrade the motherboard, cpu and ram.. The videocard can wait a little more:
- Motherboard: MSI P55-GD65 (not sure of this one, good reviews&tests, Asrock P55 Extreme is an option too.. be my guest to do another recommendation) (Asus P7P55D seems like a good option)
- CPU: Probably an I5 750 from Intel, heard good things about this one.. Although i've always used AMD..
- RAM: I really don't know, don't see many differences between the RAM sticks.. But yeh: OCZ Gold OCZ3G2000LV4GK
Sorry for no links to product pages, you have to do a little search, i only got some dutch websites, and i know for sure that you all having you're own comparing/specs websites (which i don't know) .
Thank you very much untill now, meaby i get another reply tonight.. Ohye, plans changed, i'm not ordering tonight anymore.. I'll do that tomorrow morning (I'll do a few calls to a view webshops and see if they got in stock, if so, i'm gonna drive (or go with bus) to one of them.. I need it really really quick, need to submit a project from school August 30
Thanks everyone!
Just took a look at the links you gave me, the Asus P7P55D is an option too!
Took a look at the links, added the "Asus P7P55D".
What i forgot to mention: I got a budget with a max of like €400,- (That's like 510usd, I don't even really have the money) so I can't buy a whole new pc.. -
How to export Premiere Pro CC projects to Encore
I've tried the route of exporting picking the MPEG2 DVD option, but my video looks horrid. I tried importing my sequence to Premiere CS6 in order to "send to encore" via dynamic link. Unfortunately it won't read the sequence. Why won't Adobe just add "send to encore" via dynamic link like before? I spend 13 hours off and on yesterday just trying with Adobe reps over phone to get Encore to work. This is really kililng me right now. My clients are not happy. They want their DVD and bluray and I can't deliver. NOT COOL!
