Must soft-reset to get TX to work properly

Everytime I start my TX I need to do a soft reset or the whole thing freezes up immediately.
Palm Support told me it was a hardware issue but then they told me I would have to mail it in and pay $200.
I'd rather not.
Can anyone help me?

Apple will not touch a jailbroken device.
You can try restoring as new, but it is not always possible to restore a jailbroken device to a pristine state.
If possible, return the device to the person or store that it was purchased for refund.

So in Disk Utility, with the external harddrive selected, go to the Partition tab, and then under "Partition Layout:" select 1 Partition.
After than, verify that it is formatting the drive as "Mac OS Extended (Journaled) under "Partition Information"
Also verify that it's using using the GUID Partition Map under the Options button at the lower left of this window.
Then click apply and confirm that you want to format the drive. It will ask you if you're sure, and probably for an Administrator password.
Once your harddrive is formatted properly, you should be able to use Time Machine, or any other Mac backup software.

Yes, if you purchased it in an Apple store, they should be able to assist you. Bring your MBP with you as well as the Drive.

iDVD does work with Yosemite although, as Kappy pointed out unsupported for 2 years, so try this basic troubleshooting fix:
1 - delete the IDVD preference file, com.apple.iDVD.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/Preferences folder.
2 - delete the contents of IDVD'S cache folder: User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iDVD.
3 - launch IDVD and try again.
NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

If iDVD crashes again post the first 50 lines of the crash report. Don't post a screenshot but copy and paste the actual text.
To get a movie from iMovie to iDVD it should be exported out of iMovie as 480p and added manually to iDVD.

I can't get iTunes to work properly on Windows 8. I tried everything and iTunes is NOT compatible with Windows 8. There is either an iTunes issue or a Microsoft issue.

I finally got it to work right. Some files and folders (iTunes video files, etc) were referenced to my iTunes account, I copied from my backup (external) Hard Drive to my system Hard Drive. The only thing that can keep me from accessing my wish list for some time is a very heavy Internet traffic via iTunes players to iTunes Store. So everything is now NORMAL.

Cannot get network to work properly on fresh install

I just got myself a new lenovo laptop and naturally wanted to instakll arch on it immediately.
The network I am on requires me to register the MAC address of the machine before I can access anything more than our intranet. Since this is done via a website, that is obviously difficult to do with arch, so I ran a mandriva livecd first to register it.
Quirk number one: I set up a new partition table and installed arch with grub. somehow one of these things actually changed my MAC address because I needed to reregister it and I could tell there it was a new one registered.
However, booting into arch again and I still can't get it to work properly. pinging our intranet address works fine, but I can't get to the www and so cannot install any new packages.
I've installed mandriva on a separate partition and here it all works fine. So the problem seems to be with Arch. My uneducated guess is that it somehow registers as having a different MAC address in arch, which of course creates a bit of a catch-22 because I can't install the packages needed to go to our intranet website and fix it (I should note - once I re-registered my mac address after creating a new partition table, I could complete a net-install of arch. but no internet access having booted into it).
Anyone know how I can fix this?

I've changed the MX record to 10mx.hover.com.cust.hostedemail.com (Hover's recomendation) but it's still not working.
How Can I get this to work properly?

I have performed a DNS look-up on the domain stormbluedesign.com and can see that the MX record you have added exists within our DNS: http://screencastmb.worldsecuresystems.com/img/2013-04-24_0949.png. However, this MX record is not pointing to any IP address which leads me to believe the MX record you added is incorrect.
I believe the MX record you need to add is mx.hover.com.cust.hostedemail.com, with a priority of 10. Not 10mx.hover.com.cust.hostedemail.com. But as always, contact your mail service provider for confirmation on the records they require you to add.

Can't get netcfg to work properly

I'm currently trying to setup my netcfg. I can connect wirelessly without any problems by the following process:
ifconfig wlan0 up
iwconfig wlan0 essid "networkid"
wpa_supplicant -B -Dwext -i wlan0 -c /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf
dhcpcd wlan0
However, when I follow the guides on wiki to get it started up, I get the following errors when i use the
netcfg wpa_suppl

If you truly must use wpa-config, make sure there are no directives in the config file outside your network block. Netcfg cannot use wpa_supplicant files that do, and it prints a similar error message if I remember correctly. Also, you may still need to specify your ESSID in the profile, as stated above.
But! Consider just using "SECURITY='wpa'" or "SECURITY='wpa-configsection'" instead of "SECURITY='wpa-config'" Netcfg will generate a wpa_supplicant config file and use wpa_supplicant to manage the connection. Netcfg comes with example syntax for it, and it's much simpler.

Getting iriverter to work properly: A How-To

If you don't know what's this all about: iriverter is a frontend to mencoder to convert a lot of video formats to be playable on iRiver and iAudio multimedia players.

Because I own a iRiver h320 and found out it's more than just a pain in the ass to get iriverter working properly on Arch, I decided to write a How-To. So here it is...
1.) To compile iriverter you need to install mplayer, swt and j2sdk via pacman, but thats only half the trick, because even with j2sdk and swt installed, ./configure complains about not having javac in $PATH (though it is) and after compiling and installing, it doesn't start because of a problem with libswt-gtk-3138.so. I found the solution here. You have to adjust the paths, of course.
2.) After getting it installed and started, I found out that it doesn't encode. Just doing nothing. So I decided to compile mplayer from source (I used MPlayer-1.0pre7try2). Not via ABS and a PKGBUILD, I just unpacked the tarball in /usr/local/src and installed from there. You can blame me for that, but that's just the way I did it. When trying to compile mplayer, I found out that it isn't compatible with gcc4 ([nelson]Haha![/nelson]) but you can find a patch in this thread. I applied the patch and mplayer compiled and installed without a problem.
3.) Now you can encode your vids with iriverter. Have fun!

First you need to provide a little more detail. There are several documents on technet discussing setting up OSE. How far have you got? First try it without Apache and mod_ose - there is a document entitled "Developing Web Applications using Servlets and JavaServer Pages on the Oracle Internet Platform" that has a step-by-step example of setting up a webservice, adding endpoints, creating a webdomain and a context, publishing a servlet and running it.
As for your second question, the answer is yes. The second box must have Oracle client on in, and mod_ose installed in the Apache setup. Then mod_ose uses the client tnsnames.ora file to connect to OSE, which can be at any host/port on your network.
