Must the LR V5 Catalogue be installed in the HD where the OS X resides?

I just purchased LR V5 - and just finished the first tutorial on creating a catalog.
In this tutorial, the instructor suggests placing the catalog in the user's picture folder because "it is the preferred way", leaving room for the user to guess if it also could be stored in an external device, his/her "preferred way. I bring this up because I read on the web a catalog must be created on Mac's HD, as the app does not allow to reside in an external disk; I don't know if the writer of that warning was perhaps alluding to previous LR versions.
This is important to me because I want to relocate all my photos in an external drive, wanting to reclaim storage space on Mac's HD.
I will appreciate a clarification on this matter, and, if the Catalogue must be established in the HD where the OS X resides, is it possible to physically store the pictures in the external drive, or do the pictures and catalogue reside in the same volume (HD).

If it is any consolation this started happening to me today. I am in Toronto. I am wondering if there is a copyright issue here. I have done nothing to solve it - mostly because I suspect this has nothing to do with my computer.
p.s. My speculation about copyright is not correct. Comedy Central plays fine with Google Chrome. Have not yet tested Firefox.

If you get an error message that you do not have sufficient permissions or have other problems with updating to update then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

* Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install

iCloud is not designed for sharing data with other people: you will need a third-party alternative such as DropBox or Sugarsync.

Did you have the instructions that came with your Airport Extreme? Are you sure you have it setup properly? Here is the setup guide:

When I put a network shared variable with fifo RT activated on my diagram, the arrow is broken.and I' ve got this message:

Why must the number of states on all pages be equal?

I'm building a complete interactive website in Fireworks CS5 using Master Pages, States and Behaviors for some neat interactivity on the mockup.
My question is why must the number of states be equal on all pages? I have a Master Page with a simple rollover effect on all the links, but on the Profile page I have a popup where you can insert tags. To create an interactive popup on the Profile page I need a couple of states for that popup on the Profile page. As soon as I add more states to the Profile page it loses the content from the Master Page, even if I tell all the layers in the Master page to "share on all states", when forcing the Profile page get's disconnected from the Master page.
There has to be a simpler way of doing this!

There is no way of doing what you want in Fireworks. It's not an HTML editor and can't generate more than rudimentary interactive objects. To create more sophisticated interactive objects you need have some knowledge of coding and use software like Dreamweaver or Flash.

There is no separate app. It's included in the 'Music' app if Radio is available in your country (only US and Australia at this moment).
If it is available in your country then open the Music app and select the Radio tab as described on the Apple website. If it is available in your country but don't seem Radio in the Music app then do this.

Hello vegasmax.
To temporarily clear the empty ink warning and perform a scan, please hold down the STOP button for 5-7 seconds. This should allow you to scan. If the error remains we would have to advise that the cartridge is replaced.
Please note, the empty cartridge would have to be replaced if you would like to resume printing again.

Sorry, but other than providing an Ethernet connection, Apple has not provided any formal documentation on modem specifications that "work" with their AirPort routers. Most Ethernet modems DO work, but not all are supported. Note: Apple states this in the "small print" for any of its routers in the online Apple Store.

Installing 9.2.2 where 10.5 already present

I have an old 1GHz G4 Powerbook which has Leopard installed, and the HDD is not partitioned. I would like to install 9.2.2 also, and I have the original install DVD.
Assuming that I need to partition the HDD, in order to install 9.2.2, how do I do this without erasing the existing 10.5 installation ?

Furthermore, your Powerbook can't have USB ports on the left/right side of the keyboard. It must have them in the rear to use Mac OS 9 booting. Depending on its age, you might need the original 9 installer disc that came with the computer. See this article on which Powerbooks can boot into 9 and 10.5:

No backup is a huge mistake.

Note to multi booters - keep or reinstall Dell or other System Reserved partition (PRI,Active)
EasyBCD/Windows Boot Manager held on this partition (eg. 350MB)
If it gets corrupted, you can Restore it, rather than Gigabytes of 1st Primary O/S
Also, it will solve a lot of problems, when manipulating/adding/backing up/restoring O/S's

Results in:
X You can't install Windows 8.1 because your processor doesn't support LAHF/SAHF.
X You can't install Windows 8.1 because your processor doesn't support PrefetchW.
There are at least three Processor requirements that M'soft does not list for WIN 8.1
and it's fairly well documented, if you ask the right question, eg.:

So that's it, exclusion by 'stealth' - at least M'soft told you that processor required NX - Execute Disable Bit
for Windows 8
For Intel units, look out for 'VT-x. Have a processor on the way, but will Motherboard pass CMPXCHG16b test?

Windows 8 support ends 2015, that means people who bought it will have had 2 years use
WIN 8.1 Upgrade/Update (sic) is free, but costly if it won't run on your machine
So, those many people who decried Windows 8 and stuck to WIN 7, were right after all

When you installed Firefox, did you uncheck the option to create a short cut?
In order to pin to the toolbar, when you have Firefox open, right click on the icon in the bar and select "Pin to task bar".
