Mute button on V570 with WIndows 7?

I just purchased a Lenovo V570 with WIndows 7. One thing I don't see is a mute button. Is there such a thing? Or a shortcut?

right click the volume icon and click the speakers icon to mute.

Almost funny, I also have installed Windows 8 64-bit on my ThionkPad SL500 (clean install). I have read other people complaining about "Volume buttons and mute button don't function". This is exactly the same problem I have. I have found no exact procedure about what software to install to make this work. Instead people refer to other threads that often end in some desert... So, does anyone (Lenovo?) have a clear answer on what software to install (and links to those drivers please...) :-? And, yes, I have tried installing different software packages by following threads, but nothing has worked just yet... So, clear instructions / links, please :-)

I recently found this information on the micorsoft troubleshooting website and thought of your post, not sure if you had found a solution but hopefully it is helpful.
My keyboard volume controls suddenly stopped working
If the volume controls on your keyboard stops working, check the Human Interface Device Access service on your computer to make sure it is set to Automatic.
In the Start menu, type View local services.
From the Search Results list, select View local services.
In the Services dialog box, locate Human Interface Device Access. Make sure the status is set to “Started.” If it is not started, click Start the service.
Right-click Human Interface Device Access and select Properties.
On the General tab, in the Startup type, select Automatic, and then click OK.

Mic Mute Hotkey doesn't work, Sound Mute Button won't change its color [Windows 10]

Hello everyone,
I recently did a clean install of Windows 10 x64 on my HP Probook 450 G1 (E9Y30EA), and after installing drivers I noticed when I turn off the sound, my Mute Button won't change its color to amber (or orange, yellow, whatever), as it did in Windows 8.1 and 7.Also, another thing that's not working at all is Microphone Mute Hotkey (fn + F8). It neither turns off the microphone, nor lights up its LED. I have the latest version of HP Hotkey Support driver installed (7.0.13.1), HP Quick Launch Buttons, HP Wireless Button, installed, .NET Frameworks 2.0 and 3.0 etc.. everything is up-to-date, but it's still not working as it should. Microphone muting just doesn't work at all, and pressing (sound) Mute Button does mute sound, but its light stays white, so I often don't know whether I had the sound on or off with the glance of an eye as I used to. On the other hand, HP Wireless Button works normally, and it changes its color to amber when I press it to turn on Airplane Mode. TL;DR: Microphone Mute Hotkey doesn't work; Sound Mute Button does work, but its LED doesn't work. Is there anything I can do to fix that, or is it just a problem with driver incompatibility that would be fixed in some of the next updates? Or is it something else, like Windows 10 issue or audio driver maybe?

Hi,
First download the sound driver using the links below and save the installer to your Desktop.
Audio Driver - Windows 7
Audio Driver - Windows Vista
When the download has completed, right click the installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation - ignore any warnings you may see about this being an earlier version. When the installation has completed, restart the notebook.

HP Probook 455 G1 dts+ audio software & mute button light change missing on Windows 10

Dear Support! I upgraded my probook from win 8.1 to win 10 home and i have a few problems in relation with the audio. 1. In win 8.1 the audio driver has a dts+ software (if i remember good for the name) which can optimize the sound with effects and eq etc. The notebook sounds good with this but in windows 10 i can get this and the quality of the sound is much worse. In addition in the device manager on win 8.1 the audio card names as IDT High Definiton audio but in win 10 it is "High Definition Audio Device". I don't know whethet that matters. (also has an amd high definition audio device, but if i know good its the hdmi audio) So I want to ask how can i get this to win10. 2. The audio mute button in win 10 doesnt change color -the wifi button does it- from white to orange if there is a change. The funcionality is working so it mutes the sound. So i would like to get some solutions about that, i tried to download drivers from hp support but i didnt see anything for this. There is probably a red light on inside your headphone port, indicating that the analog/digital switch in there is stuck in the digital position. Insert a headphone plug and wigle it around, especially in the horizontal plane, as you insert and remove it several times. This will usually unstick the switch and restore normal operation. If it doesn't, the machine will need to be repaired.
This has been a fairly common problem, but in most cases it is easily cured as described above.

V570 video driver not working with windows 7 home premium 64 bit

i have tried many ties instaling the video card driver from the lenovo support site for my v570, after install and reboot , blue dump screen appears and i've to restore the windows. so far i'm running without the vga driver. someone pls help to resolve this issue

I have been battling with this issue as well for several weeks now. I have gone as far as to try Windows 7 professional 64-bit, downloading the driver from numerous locations, reformatting the computer several times, and attempting to install it on an SSD as well as a standard hard drive. I finally decided to call Lenovo and just got off the phone with them... At first, the representative advised me that it was because I installed Windows professional 64-bit instead of the home premium version that came with the computer. I advised them that I was not willing to except that answer and that I disagreed with it (not to mention that at one point had it up and running with Windows 7 64-bit professional). The following response that I was given is to pay either $179 for ongoing support or to pay $90 for a one-time support issue. This is unbelievably frustrating the computer is not even six months old, I have never run into issues like this before, and let's just say this isn't my first barbecue so I know what I'm doing. Simply out of principle, I am now considering getting rid of this thing and going back to Asus... So tired of dealing with this garbage.

It could be a compatibility issue as well as Acrobat 8 is an older version.
Do you get any error message while registering for the product?
Try repairing it and once and also check for updates as well.
Is it happening with all the word files or any specific one'?

Did anyone managed to make it work microphone mute button, with Win 7 x64bit Ultimate on t510i? On win 7 x32bit Proffesional it worked fine.

Sound Blaster Omni 5.1 - mute speaker and mic with single button push

Does anyone know if its possible configure the Omni to mute both speakers and the Omni's internal mic with a single button push using the hardware volume/mute button on the Omni. I have a scenario where i need to mute both quickly when a call comes in and its a nuisance having to mute the speakers and mic separately.

Unfortunately there is no physical button to achieve that. Neither is there a software button to disable both speakers and mic at the same time.

How can I keep iPhone 5 mute and viberated for all the sounds and notifications with the mute button on?

If turn on the mute button, my iphone 5 is mute. But I can not get informed if the alarm or timer ends. iPhone 5 is mute and doesn't viberate. I want it mute but viberate under the mute button.
The Timer cann't viberate with the mute button on. I want it viberates without sound especially when I study in the Liberaby. I need to practice my pace with the Timer. I don't know whether it is because of my mistaken operation or because of the fact that the iPhone 5 can not make it.
I think it should work like this, the mute button can mute all the sounds and notifications and at the same time, the phone can viberate to keep me informed when a new email comes or there is a twett or the timer ends with viberation.
How to set the dialpad tone? It is silly to dia a number with a tone.

Hi, sill no joy with my sound on my iPad .the sound only works on one app ( Annie ) and the ring volume and it works for about 5 seconds after I switch it on . Was talking to apple and they said the reset my iPad and this will fix it .done this and it is still not working only with earphone and Annie.
