Muting all sounds?

Is there a quick way to turn all calendar notifications off?
I have alerts set but I wouldn't want one to go off in the middle of something important. (Class, Meeting, Etc)

as2 or as3? do you have any sounds attached to buttons or
timelines?

  • Every morning all sounds on my iPhone 5 are gone/muted

I have noticed that every morning, sometime between 5AM and 7AM, I lose all sounds - ring tone, alerts, even the clickety-clack of the keypad. The sounds are restored only if I power cycle my phone.  If someone out there has similar issues and know how to fix it I'd love to hear your input.  Thanks!

Thanks for the reply.  Actually, that was one of the first things I checked ever since this issue started.  I've never used Do Not Disturb and I did check that it was deactivated.

  • Disable all sound from application

    Hi,
I need to disable all sound or volume from my application upon a button press. I have a html component within my app that i need to be muted, for example if the user loads the youtube website and selects a video, the video should play but without any sound?
    Can this be done?
    Cheers

Take apart the base unit for the Inspire 5400....nope, that's looks ok....plug it all back in....check wiring...plug everything in correctly....test speakers with Creatives software....all sound is now coming out of the front speakers....nothing out of the rear.... I can't figure it out....it is getting late...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

  • After update in ipad3 to iOS 7.1.1 I have lost all sound and the usual hard reboot, checking settings, etc have not worked. Help!

How can I get my sound back on my ipad3? It has continually lost sound, but before I could do a hard reboot, reset settings, etc and get it back. After updating to iOS 7.1.1 the sound is totally gone and nothing restores it. Anything else I can try?

    Hi Mimipat72,
There may be a couple of things that are affecting the sound on your iPad. It sounds like you have already tried restarting and resetting which are good general troubleshooting steps. I suggest first checking in Settings > Sounds and making sure all sounds are turned on. The following article describes these steps.
iOS: Understanding sounds, ringtones, and alerts

If the sound settings are correct and you still have no sound, the next thing I would check would be the side switch. The side switch can either be set to lock the rotation of the iPad or mute the sounds. If the side switch is set to Mute, make sure it is toggled to allow sound. If the side switch is set to Lock Rotation, you will need to open the iPad Control Center to make sure sounds are not muted. The following article explains these functions.

  • I muted the sound while playing angry birds and now I can't get the sound back. I have the sound on ipod, just not with the games.

I muted the sound while playing angry birds and now I can't get the sound back. I'm fine with ipod, just the games

If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.

  • HT4972 I recently upgraded to ios5 on my iPad,  I have lost all sound but YouTube and that still work

After upgrading to ios5. I have lost all sounds,  y?

Have you got notifications muted ? Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. The function that isn't on the side switch is set via the taskbar instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085

  • TS3274 Lost all sound on iPad 2

I have lost all sounds on video and all apps.  Any suggestions?

Try this is you really have lost all sounds in all apps including the music app.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If you still have sound in the music app system sounds are muted.

  • Lost all sounds!!!

After the latest update, I lost all sound ie: ringer, speaker phone and any keys that would work normally on my iPhone 4s.

Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. Music, podcasts and video are not muted unless you turn the volume all the way down.

  • How do I enable all sound files wav,MP3 on windows 7 64-bit change system sounds

How do I enable all sound files wav,MP3 on windows 7 64-bit change system sounds it will only give me the option to choose wav?

Windows 7 uses .wav (wave) files for the sound events. The default folder that Windows 7 uses to store the sound files in is located at C:\Windows\Media.
You cannot use a MP3 file but there are lots of (WAV to MP3 converters) available on internet which can help you to convert MP3 to wav  serving your purpose of changing system sound.

  • The Elements 12 Mac disk works fin - I also have a Dell, and the Windows disk will not run at all, sounds like it's grinding, and is almost impossible to remove from the hard drive.  I cannot find any place to tell me who to CALL to ask for a replacement!

    Hi Samcat,
You can use a download instead of the disk as an alternative: Adobe - Download free trial version Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 | Adobe you can license with your serial
Please test the disk in another windows machine to check if it's caused by the drive or the disk. If you tested with 2 drives please start a support case, i assume Adobe will only provide downloads at this point. They are the same as the trials. If you still need a disk you can burn the trial to a disk as a backup disk. Good luck!

  • Help required: Guitar to USB Lead cuts all sound

Hi, I'm having a small problem I'm hoping someone clever here might have a quick solution to:
I recently bought this Guitar to USB lead:
    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=225789
And plugged it into my MacBook after booting up Logic. The problem is that
when the lead is plugged in it cuts all sound from Logic - i.e. I cannot
hear any other tracks playing, nor indeed the guitar sound itself (but
other applications such as Safari do have sound). Logic is recognising the
lead's input, the levels go up when I strum the guitar and I can record the
guitar as audio into Logic. But I cannot hear the recorded guitar parts or
anything else until I remove the USB lead. Which makes the thing pretty
useless really...unless of course I'm being useless (a likely outcome).
So, can anyone supply a reason why plugging in this USB to guitar lead into
a Macbook with Logic is cutting all sound from Logic?
    Thanks
(I bought this lead because I wanted a simple and cheap plug-and-play to connect my guitar to Logic - if someone has another solution for this then I'd also be interested in hearing that - thanks!)

I'm pretty sure an Aggregate device -WILL- work. In fact I know you have to use one.
Make sure your Aggregate device uses the Built-in audio OUT as the master clock device.
Also, If your USB guitar shows up as both an input and output device in aggregate setup -do not- include the output device newly created aggregate device.
    pancenter-
