Has anyone out there ever successfuly made two or more connections to an OracleLite database via ODBC on PocketPC?
I have two applications, both using the same database (they are required to use the same one). The first one starts and connects fine. The second one fails on the call to SQLConnect. It gives POL-3261 "There are too many transactions"

Thanks for the reply. Though this service is not a service downloaded/available to PocketPC. Its a PC service. My applications are PDA apps running on PocketPC2002.
Has anyone been able to make multiple connections to an Olite db on PocketPC?

IPhone not connecting to Router

Hi
I finally got my iPhone this week and have had it connecting to 3 different WAP's at work (cisco, linksys and 3com).
At home I have a linksys wag354g modem router which the phone detects but says Unable to join the network.
The linksys runs my two pc's fine through wireless with no security apart from Mac address filtering. I have added the iphone to the mac list.
My router is using:
Ip Address 192.168.1.1 (PC 192.168.1.65)
Subnet 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 192.168.1.1
DHCP Server 192.268.1.1
DNS Servers 194.74.65.69, 194.72.9.34 and 192.168.1.1
I have tried combining these settings on the iphone using various Ip addresses in the range and the different dns servers.

Hmm. I'd still say this is a router issue.
Use WPA-PSK secutiry if you can not WEP.
Also
When you try and access the network from the iPhone are both your PCs already on the network? If so try making sure they are both turned off. There are a few posts on the web about issues with mutliple connections and this router.

FAQ: failed to connect to the Java on Raspberry

Frequently people have issues connecting development (Netbeans, ME SDK, device manager, etc) host with Java on the RPi board. There might be multiple reasons for that. I'll try to list known causes and the ways to fix them
Typically the problems shows itself like:
EmbeddedExternalDevice1 is not present in Netbeans project configuration/Platform dialog
Device manager (in windows tray) shows device connection status as "Connecting"
Running the project or ME SDK (emulator.exe -Xjam) does not open ME SDK window
Attempt to run project opens ME SDK window but application installation never completes
The trivial things to verify are:
First of all check that IP connectivity with the board (e.g. ping the board IP)
Ensure you have Java started on the board ("sudo ./usertest.sh")
RPi board IP shall be added to device manager (icon in tray) as an address to connect to
Make sure you have only one instance of ME SDK connected with one Java ME runtime/RPi board (e.g. form multiple PCs). Note that Java ME will allow for mutliple connections but all of these connections will be unstable and unusable
If all the above is good but you still have the problem there seem to be more serious issue
Check that you have ME runtime and ME SDK of exactly the same version ("8.0 GA", "8.1 EA" or "latest developer build". In the latter case the "latest build" shall have exactly the same number). The versions must mach exactly. If not sure - download again and reinstall
Latest Netbeans is suggested as well. Please note that current Netbeans 8.0 is not fully ME8-ready. The full ME8 support will appear a bit later in Netbeans 8.0 patch 2 release
Check that you have proper permissions for all ME runtime files on RPi (sometimes even running under sudo does not help to read some files, e.g. on network mounted drives)
If you have updated ME SDK please make sure to stop device manager (from tray icon) and remove it's work dir (c:/Users/<user>/javame-sdk) and start emulator.exe (without parameters)
Please note that if you run proxy.jar manually (skip this step if you don't know what it is) you have to have no instance of ME SDK connected to the RPi. Or alternatively if you connect ME SDK you shall have no proxy.jar manually started
If nothing of the above helps please do the following:
Stop device manager (using icon in windows tray)
Delete c:/Users/<user>/javame-sdk
Start device manager (e.g. by running emulator.exe)
Try to connect
Post here your c:\Users\<user>\javame-sdk\8.0\log\device-manager.log and c:\Users\<user>\javame-sdk\8.0\work\EmbeddedExternalDevice1\device.log (if any)
I'll add more hints here along the way

Connection to the RPi is intermittent. There are several exceptions in the logs.
I have attached the log files. I have a wired and a wireless connection to the RPi.
1. I ping the RPi from my PC - fine
2. I can see tthe RPi IP address registered in the device manager - fine.
3. I run the example, the AMS window opens and an error dialog pops up saying "Connection lost to the device".
Also, I have trouble SSH ing to the RPi sometimes. The wired works fine but the wireless is the issue.

Can't move iTunes to External Drive

Weird one...
Using a MacBook Pro 2.5Ghz Intel Core i5, running 10.8.5 copying on to a brand new Lacie external drive connected via lightning. Whenever I try to copy the itunes folder it stalls at different points, sometimes with (error code -36).
The iTunes folder is <150GB and the external drive is 1TB. I have repaired permissions, re-formatted the external drive, but simply cannot get this function happening.
Any tips would be most welcome!

Error -36 is an I/O error. Does your LaCie have mutliple connections available? I used to have one that was USB, FW400 and FW800. I usually ran it on FW400 but occasionally I'd have to switch it to USB to move large groups of files, for this same reason. It wasn't the drive but the FW400 bus on my MacBook.

Dataexport with ODBC Wire Protocol

Dear all,
I am trying to use the dataexport function and write directly to an Oracle Database using the Datadirect/Merant 5.2 ODBC Protocol. The reference from Data Direct is said that the driver supports mutiple connections. But when I try to export data in the same cube i get the following error message:
SQL driver [ARORA22.SO] for [DSN] is in use already and does not allow multiple connections. Please try later
Is theire anyway to ensure the mutliple connections?

Its usually the case when essabse is using more than one instance of the connection to the same database. We have several load rules that hit the same Oracle database, and if we try to run them in parallel, Essabse freaks out and gives this message. Check if anyone else is using the same oracle database.( i mean from the same application).

Mutliple R/3 Systems connected to 1 APO System - Location CIFing issue

I have a situation like 2 R/3 systems(S1&S2) are connected to 1 APO system. S1 is old system and S2 is new system, I am trying to connect with APO system.
In Development environment:
I have IMs in S1 to APO system, to CIF the master/transactional data. Some of the master/transaction data will be CIFing from new R/3 system(S2). I set the deletion flag to LOCATION in APO and CIFed from new R/3 system, it worked fine. This is working fine in Development.
In Test environment:
I have set the deletion flag to LOCATION and trying to CIF from new R/3 system. I am getting the following message
"Location 9999 of type 1002 (BSG BSG_TEST) already exists in APO".
I have verified the /SAPAPO/C1, /SAPAPO/C2 about the logical system and BSGs set up. It looks same as development. I also verified the the data in /SAPAPO/LOC, /SAPAPO/LOCMAP table for data. There is no record for location type 1002 and location 9999.
Any one has got this kind of issue? How did you resolve? Am I missing any config?

Have you mapped both the R/3 instances to same BSG group in APO ?
is it that location 9999 exists in both R/3 systems (S1 & S2) ?
in APO transaction /sapapo/loc3 just put this location number without the location type field and click on display.If the location is shown in APO , means that the location existis in APO and it is transferred as distribution center (loc type 1002).
Now you might be trying to send the same location as production location (loc typr 1001) , so it is conflicting with the exisiting definition.
Even though location is flagged for deletion for APO , you have run the report /SAPAPO/DELETE_LOCATIONS which can be scheduled as job in /sapapo/loc3 -

Proxy refusing connections. Mutliple proxies.

The proxy I was using said refusing connections. So I switched proxies. Same thing, tried about 6 proxies and they all were working fine but refusing connections. They also caused problems in Chrome. I have no idea what to do?

Try to select the "No Proxy" setting instead of the default "Use the system proxy settings" setting.

Thinking of making the switch--Will I be able to remotely connect?

I'm yearning to return to the Apple fold having left years ago after owning mutliple Apple ][ +'s, e's, c's and GS's. I've been in the PC environment for years but want to come back. I currently use PC's in three locations: at work, at my primary home and my secondary home. I work at a university and do a lot of work from home--my primary home during the academic year and my secondary home during the summer. I currently use Windows XP Pro and the Windows Remote Desktop allows me to connect directly to my work computer for everything, email, file manipulations, creation of Word, PowerPoint, etc., so to others it appears I'm in the office for everything--if only I could get it to answer my phone!
It's time for me to replace my computer at the office and I have the opportunity to get a very capable Mac Pro and I really want to do this, but I can't without figuring out the work from home connection. I've read a little about the Apple Remote Desktop but it seems to be way more than I need--it's an IT systems administrator tool.
I can probably upgrade at my primary home later this year but the opportunity to make the change at work will be near term as we approach the end of our fiscal year (30 June). And I probably cannot personally afford Macs at both my primary and secondary homes this year. So my question is two fold:
1-for the long term, if I did have Macs at all three locations, could I remotely connect to my work desktop and work from home?
2-for the short term, if I had a Mac Pro at work but Windows XP Pro machines at home, is there any technology that would allow me to connect from my Windows PCs at home to my Mac desktop at work?

ARD is nothing more than VNC.
1) Yes, but it will be PAINFULLY slow since you'll need to use VNC. ARD uses uncompressed (and with no encryption) VNC, but you can get 3rd party VNC servers and clients (Chicken of the VNC, Vine, etc.).
2) Yes, you will need to use VNC. Again. Painful. Slow. Now, if you wanted to connect from a Mac to an XP Pro box, you could use Remote Desktop Connection (RDP) from Microsoft (http://www.microsoft.com/mac). That is fairly quick.

I stay in hotels alot and use my Airport Express to hard wire into hotel network. But hotels seem to have a sensor that will not allow any other device like my I-phone, I-pad to connect. Just one device and that's it. Is there a setting to cure this?

The problem is I cannot then hook up my Iphone or Ipad to the network. It seems the hotels have a sensor and only allow one device on their network at a time. Is there a setting in the setup of my Airport Express that might fix this problem?

If you have the AirPort Express setup in Bridge Mode, try changing the Connection Sharing setting to "Share a public IP address"

Connection Sharing = Share a public IP address

You will probably get a message about a Double NAT error. Click to "ignore"
This setting might allow mutliple devices to connect and may not. It's worth a try...I have about a 60-70% success rate at hotels with this setting.
Unfortunately, as you note....hotels have become a lot smarter about connections to their network. At some point, they probably will not even allow another router to connect at all.

Can I connect two non-TB external displays to a new MBP?

Looking to pick up a new MBP and I would like to connect two non-Thunderbolt monitors, they are nice but WAY too expensive, and I'm wondering if this is possible. I know I can use Matrox Head2Go line of products, but I would like to avoid shelling out another 2-300 on other hardware if I can avoid it.
So any other ways to drive two monitors? I'm surprised there is no Thunderbolt -> DVI adapter or something. Heck maybe there is, but I haven't seen it yet.

you'll also need to consider getting something that supports usb to dvi which will make your third monitor connnected via a usb port. This uses DisplayLink Drivers which let you connect a monitor via usb. Warning, it does not have full support for Lion yet.
I'm using the arkview usb display adapter. there are other on the market, they all use DisplayLink. And since I'm on Lion I'm waiting for DisplayLink to fix their drivers to work on it (it's been a struggle).
If you're on Snow Leopard it will do you well to stay on it. .
you could get on Thunderbolt display and then connect a monitor to that with the dongle I showed you. Then you will have no issues with Lion and your three displays.
Thunderbolt tech is new and new adapters will be coming out for it, especially something that handles mutliple screens. but you'll have to wait for this technology to be made.

Connecting multiple C4C tenants to same HCI system

Hello Experts,
Please note that we already have a Cloud For Customer (C4C) system connected to our HCI system which is connected to our ERP system.
How can I connect another new C4C system to the same HCI system as above which connects to the same ERP backend system QEC.
Would this new C4C system use the same tenant/worker nodes or will there be a separate new one be created for this new C4C system.
Please let us know what is the best possible approach.

THere are probably a couple of options. One is to adjust HCI to send to two receivers. We'd need to look more at how the data needs to flow.
The other is to have duplicate setup -the following is what we do for a training environment with mutliple C4C's connected to one HCI and one ERP:
* C4C tenants have the communication system for ERP that points to HCI
* If you will have the same iflow from the ERP to each tenant, e.g. material master from ERP to C4C tenant1, material master from ERP to C4C tenant 2 - then you need to do the following:
*** HCI import the iflow, rename the iflow and the manifest. When you deploy you will also need a unique name. for example: /cxf/ERP/COD/ADR3MAS03_TR99 - deploy the service with the extension
*** in ERP in the RFC destination to HCI you need to also adjust the RFC dest, for example, /cxf/ERP/COD/ADR3MAS03_TR99 so that the deployed iflow name matches.
*** the deployed iflow also has the updated URL for the related C4C tenant.
In this situation you have duplicate iflow for each C4C tenant. The other option is to use one iflow and have two receivers, this would assume everything always goes to both tenants.
Does this make sense or is it confusing?

My company just moved to 10.7, and it used to be the case in 10.6 if I needed to connect to a server I could use user@servername if I wanted to authenticate as another user. It seems in 10.7 and 10.8 it is automatically using my currently logged in user only and it just ignores anything specified in user@. I can't find anything conclusive in Keychain Access, and it persist over mutliple machines so it's not my specific computer or user that has issues.
We are on an AD domain and this is happening over SMB and AFP.

URGENT... lost connectivity to Imovie for importing files/projects

Hi and thanks for reading this... I'm slightly above beginner technically, and have assumed a job/role video editing where video files (AVCHD) are imported from Imovie into CS4 on a Mac. Yesterday a dialogue box appeared in the clips bin of CS4, top left, stating "connectivity" was lost (I assume that refers to the link between Imovie and CS4) and to click a button within that window to restore it. Mutliple attempts did nothing.
Subsequently, I now can't re-load existing CS4 projects created from files imported from Imovie, nor can I import clips from Imovie into CS4. (The clips still exist in Imovie, but they won't load into CS4. When I attempt to import, the "import" progress bar appears and completes, but nothing appears in CS4. Also, when attempting to load existing projects created in CS4, not only will they not load, but a different project will suddenly attempt to load in place of the project I attempted to load in.
Of course, several deadlines are breathing down my neck, so any help is very much appreciated. Cheers, Norm
