Mutliple ECC Instances to Single Instance CRM different client

If we have multiple QAS instances of ECC, can we use one instance of CRM and use multiple clients?
i.e.
ECC Server QA1 Client 100 communicating with CRM QAx Client 100
ECC Server QA2 Client 200 communicating with CRM QAx Client 200
One consultant we are dealing with says the middleware only supports one-to-one instances, and one says it "should" work.
Has anyone tried this before?
We created a separate test configuration of ECC but don't want to create a new CRM instance just to test.

Note: Versions - ECC 6.0 & CRM 7.01

    I had the same problem bei EHP4 upgrade, I could not start the shadow instance.  see
    Erro Message "
    ERROR => shmget(10162,86036728,2016) (12: Not enough space) [shmux.c)
    So I change the #em/initial_size_MB =4096 to
    #em/initial_size_MB =2048.
    Then the shadow instance could come up.

    i want to install ABAP distributed system (ECC 6.), unfortunately in step Database instance installation i got only one option  - local host name. I need to put database to other server...
    Does anybody has experience with distribiuted ECC 6.0 ABAP system installation? How can i distribute sap instance and DB instance to different servers (sapinst is not offer this option, only for java systems)?

    your advise resoved my problem, after using sapinst with parameter " DB host name" instalation of DB instance executed correctly. In default.pfl file i have now as SAPGLOBALNAME db host name.
    I am facing at the moment with other problem during db instalation:
    FCO-00011  The step doGrantServiceRights with step key
    FSL-06002  Error 1060 (The specified service does not exist as an installed service.) in execution of a 'SyWinGetSecurityDescriptor' function, line (1296), with parameter (Error in getting security descriptor for 'MSSQLSERVER' NT service).
    Is it known problem to you? if so, how did you resolve it?

  • Multiple NW instances of different versions on same server

    Our current landscape has two NW 7.2 Java AS instances installed on a single server. This solution works well for us, as one instance functions as our Dev server and the other functions as the QA.
    I am looking to upgrade to NW 7.3 EP1. Is it possible to have different NW instances at different versions on the same machine? For instance:
    NW 7.2 DEV (port 50000)
    NW 7.2 QAS (port 50200)
    NW 7.31 PRD (port 50400)
    I've already attempted to install NW 7.31 Java as a New and additional installation on the server. Both methods have failed so far. I haven't dug too deeply into the logs yet as I wanted to get feedback from the community first.
    In summary, is it possible to have different versions of NW Java running on the same machine? If so, what is the best practice and process for installing the new NW instance?

    Yes, it is possible. You need to make sure that the hardware has sufficient resources (CPU, RAM, Disk space, etc) to accommodate a new instance, the system numbers and SID's are unique and the OS and DB are supported for the new system.

  • How to connect different clients of same SAP Instance

    I have a question abour CPS 7, Basic- / Free of Charge  Version
    I know that this version is restricted to have only  one SAP Instance per Isolation Goup, but how about different clients of the same Instance ?
    Is it necessary to create an  Isolation Group for each client of the same instance ?
    We actually have 1 isolation group with 1 Instance and 1client .
    Trying to create a second XBP Connection to another client fails then saving the changes with error:
    "JCS-102120: SAP System DI1.DI1_045 should be isolated but is not. Show error details"
    I didnt find a concrete statement in the Installation - and in the Admin Guide.

    This is correct, there is one client per isolation group. The free version works similar in this respect to SM36/SM37: jobs are defined in each client individually and independently.

  • XI to be called by an R3 instance but 3 different client

    Hi guys, anybody has experiment with calling 1 XI (XI development) by 3 different client of R3 (but with the same instance / system number).
    I have tried creating 3 different business system in SLD using only one Technical system but it does not work. Anybody have any idea? All advices and inputs would be very appreciated. Thanks guys.

    If you are trying to send the IDOC from XI to the R3 system, then you will need the RFC destination in SM59 in XI. And this should be created for every client of the r3 system.
    The client details are given under Log On Data in the RFC destination.
    In the case of R3 , as you have multiple Clients, you wil have one RFC destination on each client pointing to your XI box. The details in all 3 will be the same, but, remember one on each R3 Client.
    If you have done the Adding of Clients to the Tech SYstem, create the Business System as WEB AS ABAP for each R3 client. While creating the Business System, you wil select the Technical System and then Select the CLient / logical system of the R3 system . The business systems have a 1:1 relationship with the Clients of the r3 system.
    If you have also done this, then can you please elaborate what the issue you are facing is?

    I have a problem connecting to sql instances on different ports.
    Example:
    I have an sql databaserver = DATABASE
    1st instance on this server = instance1 (running on port 1160)
    2nd instance on this server = instance2 (running on port 1260)
    If I want to connect to instance1 - i create the following conn.info line :
    MSSQL_SERVER = DATABASE\instance1
    But for some reason, I doesn't connect to the instance1... I can do a dataconnection to "MSSQL_SERVER = DATABASE", but can no redirect it to "DATABASE\instance1"
    Ideas ?

  • IPC/VC: Knowledgebase/KB of ECC is not shown in CRM

    Hi,
    we would like to use the Variant Configuration in CRM.
    Today we are using already the IPC in a standalone environment with an external system (IPC 5.0, the external system is using the IPC in the Java environment of ERP). From the same ECC System we would like to download now the knowledge bases to reuse them in CRM 7.0. All knowledge bases and runtime environments are already available. When I download the object SCE (with certain filters), I can see all those entries in table COMM_CFGKB in CRM.
    Anyhow, when checking the material in CRM (e.g. commpr01 or WebUI), no knowledge base is shown!
    The table COMM_CFGKB has exactly the same entries as ECC (Active = T, KB Usage 10, KBOBJNAME and Version filled etc.), but anyhow it is not shown at all in CRM. As these knowledge bases are very huge, I have tested also a very small and easy one. This one is getting downloaded the same way and has the same entries in table COMM_CFGKB and it is also visible in commpr01.
    So my assumption is that the other KBs are not 100% correct. When checking them in ECC (cu36) I get many warnings and errors. Anyhow, they were downloaded to CRM (but won`t be shown). Business says that these warnings/errors are OK and that the external system which uses the IPC in ECC is not having any problems.
    Question: is there any chance of using a KB in CRM which has warning/errors when it was generated in ECC?
    Is there any chance of manipulating the KB before it gets imported into CRM. I have found Note 1044682 which explains a BADI.
    Which tables/fields do we have to manipulate so we are able to use the KB in CRM. 
    As mentioned: business is aware of those errors and excepts that there might be a crash in the IPC for certain combinations.

    OK, I think I understand your suggestion: you use the same IPC with your CRM as well as with the ECC system. So in CRM you just maintain the URL and a user in XCM to the "same" IPC. You mentioned that we need to download anyway the SCE. This is somehow logical as this is the base connected to CRM, but what is not clear to me is the fact, that if the SCE KB is used via ECC all SAP R/3 fields are available (like VBTYPE of the sales order where you have values like B or C). In CRM we use the same SCE KB but here these fields are not availble as the sales order transaction customizing in CRM does not contain such a field.  Where is the logical link between the values which are available in IPC and the SCE?

    I am new to middleware and need some help with the relationship between ECC customers/contact persons and CRM business partners.
    We are transferring via bdoc this information from ECC to CRM.
    Which bdoc types are used when transferring customers/contact persons? I believe it is BUPA_MAIN but am not too sure. How is the relationship between customer its contact person transferred? Is this done through BUPA_REL? I looked at the segment fields in SBDM but am not too sure how to understand the relationship...

    Thanks! With the initial load, how do I check what fields are being passed in the bdocs?
    I tried to look for customer_main, customer_rel in SBDM  and couldn't find it. Instead I used BUPA_MAIN and found some segments but couldn't find all the data that was being transferred (e.g. customer name, address, etc...) Where do I find all the fields contained in the bdoc?
    I see them in SMW01 when I view the bdoc contents but can not find the actual structure (data fields) that are being brought in from ECC.

    Yes. you can connect 2 ECCs to a single PI system.
    You have to create two entries for Proxy in sm59.
    Please refer the below document for the proxy configuration.
    (Put 'Proxy configuration in SAP XI' in Google Search & You will get a document from saptechnical.)
    If everything goes fine, from both the ECC systems you can see the PI interfaces(Transaction : SPROXY) and implement them.

    You must maintain on R/3 system the table CRMPAROLTP (in SM30). Set the following parameters:
    Parameter name 1: CRM_SCENARIO
    Parameter name 2: INT_CHANGE_ORDER (e.g. for activating the scenario A for ZOR1 - check what you use for YOR1)
    Parameter name 3: ZOR1
    Parameter value 1: A (e.g. for activating the scenario A for ZOR1 - check what you use for YOR1)
    And on CRM side you must maintain the same parameters in table SMOFPARSFA:
    Key : R3A_SALES
    Parameter name 1: INT_CHANGE_ORDER (e.g. for activating the scenario A for ZOR1 - check what you use for YOR1)
    Parameter name 2: ZOR1
    Parameter value 1: A (e.g. for activating the scenario A for ZOR1 - check what you use for YOR1)
    Ensure that the scenarios are maintained consistently in both systems (CRMPAROLTP and SMOFPARSFA) to avoid errors.
