Muvo^2 1.5GB MP pla

Hi, I was recently listening to my MuVo^2 .5GB MP3 player when it froze up! I pressed the on/off button to switch it off, but nothing happened. So, i pulled out the battery, and when i replaced it, it said Recovery Mode v.00.
When i browse through the options, eg 'Run PC ScanDisk' etc, and try to access these, it says 'Media Error' for each one.
And when i connected it to my PC, it wasnt even recognised.
Anyone know what i can do? Any help you can provide would be much appreciated!
Thanks

Unfortunately Media Error most likely means there's a problem with the hard disk. You'll need to contact Creative Support.

  • Help! MuVo^2 FM 5GB is fro

Well the MuVo^2 FM was working perfectly fine till I charged it. When i came back it was stuck/frozen at 'MuVo^2 FM'. Ive tried to go into rescue mode and do all the stuff. it does not respond to usb when i plug it in the comp and when i try to use the options in recue mode it jus freezes. The only one that works is reboot and that doesnt do anything. Please what can I do?

The connection on the FM Wired remote is identical to that of the included wired remote, obtained with the Muvo2 FM 5gb.
Are they ever going release firmware enabling the FM wired remote to operate fully on the 5Gb Muvo2? Or am i better off just taking it back and flaming the sales person?

  • Muvo^2 FM (5gb) scandisk prob

I saw an earlier post that had the same problem as me, but there was no follow up answer.
Anyway, my problem is that when I start my Muvo up, it says that smartscan failed, and that I should press the menu button to go into recovery mode.
I then select PC scandisk, and it tells me to attach the USB cord.
Afterwards, the computer detects the Muvo, but nothing more happens. The screen on the Muvo is simply the icon that indicates that it is connected, but scandisk is not run at all.
I'm sure I am just skipping something really simple.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.

    eneleon,
You need to run Scandisk from Windows manually. Open Windows Explorer and right click at the removable disk dri've letter of the player. Select Properties -> Tools tab -> Error checking column. Select the option 'Automatically fix file system errors' and start the process. Be sure to disconnect the player properly using the Safely remove hardware icon at the taskbar.

  • My Muvo Square FM 5GB has a pr

    I bought a MuVo2 FM 5GB a month back.
This morning, I found out that it has a thin line running through the LCD display.
The thin line empties out the original display, making that part "invisible".
What should I do? What can be done to recover the display?

The blank line is gone now.
But the player just subjected to some rough shock and now it doesn't seem to boot.
I tired running Rescue Mode, but it just doesn't seem to absorb enough power!
When I try switching it on, upon releasing my hold on the play/power button, it shuts itself down.
On several trys, it reboots itself again and shut of for 2 times.
    What should I do?
Should I go down to the service support centre, if so, how long would it take on the average to get it fixed?

Hmmm. I would copy everything off of it, re-format, and copy everything back on. It sounds like the disk's directory structure is damaged.

  • MuVo 2 1.5GB question

I am interested in buying a MuVo2 .5GB player and I need to know if it works as a USB hardri've *WITHOUT* any kind of Creative driver.
I will be using mainly it as an external dri've on various foreign computers, so this is crucial for me. Unfortunately my good old Zen Xtra cannot serve this purpose. (What is the need of having to install drivers for a USB dri've?)
I would also like to know about the anti-shock durability of the player's microdri've (no flash, right?). Is it OK for everyday *long* and relati'vely *fast* paced walks? (Nowhere near jogging though ) What is its resistance compared to my old player? Is it true that smaller dri'ves are less sensiti've?
    Thank you,

It works as USB mass storage. No driver required for Win Me/2000/XP.

The Zen isn't a USB dri've, it has a bespoke hard disk format and needs to enter tag data into the player's onboard library.

Creative say only jogging and similar sports are an issue, hence walking is presumably OK.

    ps.
The bar for loading is full but nothing else continues, i cant even cancel it, so im forced to pull it out without ejecting it. I dont know what to do, everyone i've talked to just says to cleanup, scan and format it but it just says "Media Error". I need help.

Believe it or not, the first time I turned on my Muvo2 4gb it came up as "media error." I was so pissed. However, I fixed it by repeatedly taking out the battery and putting it back in, as the player reboots whenever you do that. Usually I had to do it for more than a few minutes. It eventually loads up though. Since then, I have gotten a frozen screen or media error about 6 more times, each time remedied in the same fashion. I suggest doing that. Don't give up. I've had the muvo2 for more than a year now, and it's still going.

  • MuVo² 4.0 GB --vs-- MuVo² FM 5.0 G

plz tell me your opinions about this matchup? which one should i go for?
The prices here in turkey is..
    MuVo? 4.0 GB (90$) --------MuVo? FM 5.0 GB (256$)
    which one?

If you prefer having a builtin FM radio, microphone and the addition of GB differences then go for the MuVo? FM 5GB. Additionally, if you choose the MuVo? 4GB player, you can get the FM wired remote to go along with the player to provide FM radio and microphone features too.

  • Battery charger Ne

    Hi guys & gals
Just bought Zen Neeon 6Gb player for my son, but to my amazement there is no charger with package.
You can only charge from usb on computer, painfull ...
    My question is ...
    - Does anybody have a separate charger for this model that you could post the voltage and amp from charger unit (if it shows that info)
2 - My own player is MuVo 2 FM 5Gb which is supplied with charger (5volt .5amp) my battery is 3.6volt like mobile phone battery, but Neeon isn't as easy to remove to check voltage on the battery.
My idea is if the voltage etc is the same I can use adaptor and use my charger for the Neeon

I think that's a printing error. I don't remember reading anywhere that the neeon comes with charger. Only Micro have 2 packages that either have charger or doesn't. You should check your neeon package box and see if the charger are listed as included and not the website since website are often not as updated as on the box. If the box does indicate charger included which I doubt so then you should contact their customer support and request for the charger.

  • Muvo² 5GB steering Wheel questio

    Hi!
One difference between the MuVo? 4GB and the newer 5GB (FM) units are the Jog Wheels:
    http://www.creative.com/iss/images/corporate/artwork/wp_muvo2fm_allcolours_024.jpg
which seems to be MUCH more difficult to use than the older ones:
    http://www.creative.com/iss/images/corporate/artwork/art_muvo2_prod.jpg
How practical is the new construction and how easy is it to skip just one Title forward when you have to pull the button sidewards instead of just pushing it down? I think the Volume control is also not that easy to use...
Why did Creative change the former steering Wheel which was nearly perfect?

    Thanks for your answers!
It's not possible to take a first look in a Store cause none of the Stores around my place got the 5GB Version of that unit. They have ALL Creative Players except the new MuVo?!
The only option is to order it from Amazon but when it has an uncomfortable steering I'd have to send it back and it's much better to avoid that course of action. So my question...
Just from the point of Design the older version looked MUCH better.

G'day bought a muvo^2fm 5gb about 5 months back 2 nights back i was going to put a few more mp3s on but when i plugged muvo in it wouldn't connect to the computer(or computer wouldn't detect it). I went to creative and went through thier trouble shooters can't run scandisk or anything muvo freezes up and the comp won't detect it. tried a clean up and a format which didn't work, i emailed customer support before i tried reinstalling firmware whichw as their suggestion. i emailed them again today to let them know it didn't work, i assume muvo froze as it was trying to erase firmware for 2-3 hours.

  • MuVo FM 5GB teething probl

Hi, I just got a MuVo FM 5GB about a month ago. It was working fine until one day when I try to eject it from the USB port after downloading music to it. The error message came onto the screen and told me to scan it. After I did that, I try disconnecting it from the USB port using Windows but the error message was repeated. So I tried to reboot the MuVo. Now the player can be switched on and then it goes into "Downloading Music" which it continues to do so until the batteries runs out, which is like 8-9 hours. While the "Downloading Music" message is on, all the buttons aren't functioning, even the on/off button. I've tried inserting the battery while pressing down on the on/off button but the player just goes straight into "Downloading Music" and can't be played at all. Help!
    Questions:
) If we have already disconnect the player from Windows, how come the error disconnecting message still comes on?
    2) Why does it takes forever to download music (the player is not connected to the computer)?. Initially when I first udes the player, it took something like 0 secs after pressing the on/off button before I can used it, but now it's like forever.
    Please help!
MuVo Junkie (now in withdrawal state)

    Dear Jason,
Thanks for the tip. I tried recovery on the player followed by rebooting the player. It still went into "Loading Music" for like 4 hours before the battery ran out. So I next tried to scan the player but it still didn't work.
So I finally format the player. (Extreme measures but it was better than throwing the player down and stomping on it. Blame my actions on withdrawal symptoms).
Now I'm patiently downloading music again into the player.
I kind of like the fact that you guys bundle the player with a program to organise music. But I ran into a hitch. I was trying to convert .wma files into .mp3 format. But the "Failed. Format not supported" message comes on. Since the Help in the organiser is not that really helpful, any idea what went wrong and is there anyway I can convert .wma files into .mp3 files?
