Muvo 2 4gb probl

My muvo starting acting strange at school, wouldnt recognise it on the computers(3 differant ones) etc
When i got home i tried on my computer to find it doing the same but now also if you push the usb cable too far into the player it turns off my computer and removes power to all the other devices.
I need the information on it as it has my coursework on which has to be handed in by next mon.
Player works fine other than that.
Please help

It sounds like the player has a hardware fault and is shorting out the USB. The only option you really have is to get the player repaired, and it's very unlikely you'll get the same player back. It's best *never* to trust an MP3 player with crucial data files.

  • New muvo, but old probl

    Hello everyone!
Time ago, my MuVo (classic) was suddently dead so I bought a muvo tx fm 256mb. Now, I can't use it because my windows can't install muvo drivers correctly. I've got 2 pc with windows XP and both of them give me the same problem!!!!!
After some clicks on "my computer" It crash until I don't unplug the muvo. I can't write, read or do anything else with the muvo. Pratically it's unusable. It's nice because I had the same problems with my old Muvo!!!!!
I tryed everything's possible. I also formatted my pc, but the problem's the same

There was no need to download any drivers for Windows XP, it should ust be able to recognize the MUVO as a removable dri've, just like a memory stick. You can use "my computer" to install music files but you will probably have better luck with Windows Media Player or the Creative software.
Try to rollback your computer to before you installed the drivers or uninstall the drivers.

    firmware is .6.02,

    Try this:
Disconnect the player and then open Device Manager.
Select View Devices by Connection and Show Hidden Devices.
Under your USB connection find all entries for your player including ones for Player Recovery Device and remove them all.
Close Device Manager, restart PC?and then connect your player.

  • Muvo N200 BIG PROBL

Hello, I have this mp3 player almost 2 years, i had some problems wih him in the past, but none of them was so big as this. I was trying to reload newest firmware .20.04, everything seems to work properly, i did it step by step as they adviced on Creative pages, but after finishing reloading the firmware, i shut down?updating application and since then does the mp3 player no response. I can't turn it on, Pc don?t recognize him. So if anyone knows what to do (beyond throwing it into the basket), i?ll be very glad for any advice. Thanks a lot. Del

  • Muvo Tx 512 Probl

First; I did research for two weeks on the right MP3 playerand selected the Creative Muvo TX 52 over ten other MP3 players. The main reason , the sizeof the player and the arm band which came highly recommended, along with the 52 capacity
This was a Christmas present for my daughter to use while running and training in the gym.
Imagin how I felt when it didn't come with an arm band but with some "international neck strap"!
Secondly the thing can only load at the most , about 2 songs before starting error messages.
loading WMA files and yes I've installed all the firm ware and updates, reformatted to fat & fat32 with out sucess.
I tryed to return it to Buy.com but was purchased in early november and was out side of their return policy. Now my daughter want's nothing to do with it and I'm Stuck with a $00 albatross!!!!!!
    Any Suggestions?

    mikev,
What error messages did you encounter? Types of software used? Types of audio files transfered?

  • Muvo n200 1gb probl

I have a new, less than two week old, Muvo 200n gb player that just started giving me problems today.
I was running with it this morning and it just died halfway through my run. I assumed that the battery had run out so I put a new one in when I got home. That wasn't the problem as it powers up and then shuts down after about 3 seconds.
So far I have tried reformatting it- which didn't work.
I put one folder's worth of music back on and it still shuts down as soon as it powers up. The funny thing is that if I hook it up to my computer I can access those music files and play them back. If try to play the music through my player it just goes right to it's auto shut-down mode and doesn't even give me the chance to access any other parts of the player- like the radio.
    Any suggestions?
    Jon

I am having the same problem with my player. It started the second day I had it. I seem to be able to get it working by reinstalling the firmware each time. When it stops working it will turn on temporarily and then shut down. I can access it as a removable dri've but it will not run under it's own power. After I reinstall the firmware it runs for a few hours and then the problem starts all over again. This is a serious problem for me as I intend to use this on a three week vacation traveling without a computer to reinstall the firmware each day. I had hoped there would be a solution on Creative's website but all I've seen mentioned about this problem is in these forums with no reply from Creative. Come on Creative..what's the deal?

  • Muvo X-Trainer probl

Had my Muvo x-trainer just over a year now and has started developing a problem where whatever song you are listening to is distorted and you have to keep moving the headphone socket plug around to get a decent sound quality, although this is getting worse and worse and is just annoying to listen to now. I managed to find my reciept yesterday and typically I brought it January last year so just out of Warranty, Anyone have any ideas on what it could be or if there is a way to fix it's Ive tried different headphones so I know its not them.
If not I may buy the C00 as that looks quite good but dont want to unless this one can be fixed
    Thanks for any help
    Mat

If not broken then it could well be just dirty. (either the plug or socket or both)
It does sound like you may have poor electrical contact.
Not sure how best to clean the contacts, but you could start with a clean dry
cotton cloth (for the plug) and make sure there is no grease or grit in there.
Perhaps clean the plug, insert and remove it a few times, clean plug again,
    and so on.
Do it carefully though, and don't make things worse by using the wrong cleaner etc
if you go down that route...
    Hope that hel

  • MuVo Nomad(?) probl

Hello, I own a MuVo Nomad(?) 28MB MP3 player. Alot like this one --> http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00006JHWQ/ref=nosim/02-0996-384052?n=72282
The problem I am having is that when I put a *fresh* battery into it, it does not turn on. And what worse is that even when I plugged it into 3 OTHER computers, it wasn't recognized AT ALL. This just happened one day and it upsets me. It was never dropped or otherwise molested. I am running XP and I'm sure all 3 other computers were too. I bought this player from a friend, so I don't have any warranty. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Not sure what the battery has to do with it. The Nomad has to be detached from the battery case to be able to plug into the computer.
Gi'ven that nothing else has worked I will give it another shot.
Well, that did not work either. The update failed on the same error.
    Rant:
The Zen Nano I got yesterday to replace this is hosed up. Lasted 45 minutes in the gym last night. It just automatically shut off. Now whenever I connect it to the computer it automatically comes up as a player recovery device. Tried the firmware update and reformatting the dri've. Then it just went into an endless reboot cycle. CL tech support said to return it. Back to the store for a new one.
My little Nomad lasted for years without so much as a flinch. It has been through hundreds of hours in the gym, several trips into the operating room and recovery, and countless hours of fishing on the ri'ver. It has been dropped and had a baby slobber on it. It always worked perfectly without question. My Nomad was nearly indestructable until it met a kid with a magnet. What happened to the quality of these devices?
That Zen Nano was made in China and could not make it through a single workout. The Nomad was assembled in Korea and lasted for years. I really wonder if that has something to do with it's
Oh well time to get off my rant and dri've back to the store.

  • Muvo Slim Battery probl

I have the Muvo Slim 256MB model no DAP-TD0008 with firmwire drivers ..03
The problem i'm having is the battery refuses to recharge. My initial thought was that the battery died completely from being drained and just simply wouldnt recharge, so I bought another one from the Creative website. I've had the new battery in my possesion for day, and it too, refuses to charge.
I have used multiple usb ports on multiple pc's (with the firmwire installed on each machine) and the battery never recharges, no matter how long I leave the player charging. I am also certain that it is not the chord itself. This is because I can still format, add, remove, and edit the playlist and software on the player through my pc's. It connects just fine and the pc's in my home recognize it just fine. Even the "charging" symbol on the top right corner is displayed while it's plugged in. But anytime I unplug it, the player immediately says that the battery is empty, and then shuts off.
I've been digging through the forums and have not seen another post describing this same problem.
ANY help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

If the player are showing the charging symbol then it should be charging. Remember that transferring files drain lots of battery. Perhaps you should let the player charge for a little longer -2 hours without doing any thing on the player like playback/transfer/etc..... and see if it get charged.

  • Muvo slim connection proble

    Hello,
I bought a Creative Muvo Slim MP3 Player.
I can't see my player at my computer. I have installed/reinstalled drivers and software many times, but it didn't help. When I plug it, player shows that it is connected, but windows don't see it.. I have Windows XP.
I have updated all my motherboard drivers.
    Help me out, please.

Open your device manager and check under 'Uni'versal Serial Bus controllers'. Do you have a Mass Storage Device listing there or you have some listing with unknown or an exclamation.
If the MuVo Slim is listed as Mass Storage Device under device manager then you may need to manually map your disk dri'ves, especially if your computer is connected to a network or if you have multiple dri'ves. We have an article on Knowledgebase on this.

  • MUVO Micro N200 Proble

Can you please offer me some advice?
    <SPAN class=copy>I Recei'ved my GB Muvo Micro N200 mp3 player on the 2nd July.
My issue: Transfer errors appeared with 394.3 MB of free space. I contacted Creative Labs support via email.
Their solution: Download new firmware upgrade and format Muvo N200. After doing this I couldn't transfer anything to my Muvo. I kept getting a transfer error message.
2nd email from Creative Support: I'm told to use MSCONFIG and carry out various actions. I then tried to transfer music via the accompanied software mediasource, this failed. I tried Windows media player and it worked the first time, but music fails to show up in media player.
Mediasource software fails to work properly (this came with the Muvo) and some song titles that display correctly to start with now end up with a title of "unknown" on the Muvo.
I'm waiting for more feed back from creative today (5/07/05). Creative support request email numbers are: (KMM67988292452L0KM) from 3/07/05 and (KMM68632452L0KM) from 4/07/05.
Is there anything I can do?

Read this thread to get more info on the root folder problem:
    http://forums.creative.com/creativel...essage.id=5579
I'm not sure if this was causing balan's problem - it depends on what his error message was while he tried to transfer files. If this was the cause then he should create sub-folders off of the root folder and put his files in them.
