MuVo^2 firmware is

Hello
I have a Creative Muvo^2. When I switch it on says there is a 'firmware error' after the initial two screens of 'Creative' and 'MuVo^2.' After it says this it goes into the Recovery Mode .00 where I have the usual 6 options:
Run PC ScanDisk
Clean Up
Format All
Reload Firmware
Connect To PC
Reboot
I have tried the PC ScanDisk option and there is no change, and the same goes for reformatting, it always comes up with the firmware error. So I have been researching to the point where I realise I must download firmware and do the reload firmware option. The problem i think i now face is that when i go through the Creative website to get new firmware for my particular player it says there are no firmware updates available for it.
So is there any way to get a non-update version, like, the original firmware to download and try this option?
Thanks in advance if I get any replies!

  • Muvo TX firmware request and probl

Recently I have bought a Creative Muvo TX SE with the firmware version .3.02.
I inserted brand new batteries, but everytime i scroll through songs and release the scrolling wheel the player shuts off. Cue/Review is off.
I have searched the forum and know that this problem might be fixed by reinstalling the firmware, but, however, I do not know where to get Version .3.02 since the Creative homepage has not updated firmware on Muvo TX since 2-Feb-05 and you may understand that since I do not know for sure that downgrading to .0.05 fixes the problem I hesitate to try.
I also suspect that the firmware versions for Muvo TX and TX FM are/have been the same except for the radio feature, so I do not want to miss features like improved cue/review and some fixes which where included in version .2.0 and later versions therefore might as well be included in .3.02 and which .0.05 might miss.
Well, couldn't Creative at least offer the current firmware version for Muvo TX (SE) for download?
Does anyone have .0.05 and does not experience my problems or has up/downgrading to .0.05 worked for anyone to fix this particular problem?

I bought mine with firmware version ..0, which is not listed as a MuVo TX firmware version on the site. I 'downgraded' the firmware too, for this specific problem: http://forums.creative.com/creativel...ssage.id=83584
Only thing I've noticed as a difference is slower startup times, but for the rest, I'm not missing any functionality. Hope this hel
    ps.
P.S. Could you check if your MuVo has the same problem as mine? Thanks ;-)

  • MUVO N200 FIRMWARE - RIDICUL

The VOLUME is RIDICULOUSLY loud. Whichever engineer and his/her boss approved of the ridiculously loud volume scale should be FIRED immediately.
My MUVO MP3 Player has been rendered unusable in any quiet / study situation.
    NEVER BUY CREATIVE AGAIN.
PS. I am an electrical engineer. So I'm not kidding, and I'm not biased, they really need to be fired.

Going back to the earlier firmware might not work though.
I'll assume that the same would happen with the N200 as with
    my Nano Plus.
After updating my Nano Plus to .0.03 and then flashing it back to .02.0 the
scale remained 0-25. Apparently the new firmware updates part of the system
that the old firmware doesn't change.
So unless Creative realizes the error of their ways we're stuck.
What really burns me is I'd had this happen when I updated my N200, so
I made sure to look at the changes listed on the download page before
flashing my new Nano, nope didn't mention the volume scale change so I
    thought I was safe.
In my opinion all significant changes should be listed not just the "improvements".

  • Need help - Error while updating the firmware of Muvo Slim using the recovery t

    Hi ,
While I am trying to update my Muvo slim firmware using the recovery tool it throwd up an error. And from then onwards if I am trying to power it up it won't.
If I again try to update the firmware, it throws up the error that "Unable to Write to Device: Device Time out".
I am afraid that my Muvo slim got bricked. Can you please help me in recovering the same.
PS: My PC OS is Windows XP.
    Thank & Regards
    ksraghava?

On my XP system, the last time I wanted to reload the firmware, I had to remove all of my Creative software programs,?and then revert my Windows Media Player back to 0 and then use The Recovery Tool. It is a bit of a pain, but does seem to work when you are getting errors with the firmware download.

Almost forgot. Make sure your player is fully charged or has a fresh battery before starting any firmware download.

  • Deleted firmware on Muvo NX - need h

Hi, my daughter, 0, has a Muvo NX (28 Meg) and I was having trouble loading songs onto it. It kept saying the drive was full even though I had deleted six songs from it. No knowing what else to do, I formatted the drive. Now I find that I have deleted all the firmware and the initializer. I downloaded a firmware update but it requires that I have firmware on the player to update. It doesn't recognize that the player is plugged into the computer at all. The rescue tool I downloaded doesn't recognize that the player is present. Are there some files that I could put on the player so that the firmware update can recognize it's I know this is an old player and could be replaced quite cheaply but for a ten year old with a tendency to lose things easily, it worked quite well until I screwed it up. Can anyone help

  • I want to downgrade my MUVO v200 to firmware 0.

    Hi,
I have a Muvo v200, worked perfect in all computers until i upgrade to the last firmware, bad idea. I bought a Woxter with an USB port, and my MUvo v200 MP3 player not regconized, i thought maybe if i update my firmware it could be works. NO works in a voxter x-div.
I updated tho the last firware in the web, and works perfect in my enterprise, with a lot f computers, but when i arri'ved at home with my motherboard P4C800 Deluxe, the computer freeze, and gave me an error on hardware found.
I've read almost all the messages in the forum, recovery mode, USB mass storage, uninstall, reinstall drivers, i downgrade my Muvo with the complete list of older firmwares. I update the motherboard bios, the USB controller to USB2, the full speed in the bios.
And in some computers not works.
Before i upgraded, it works with all computers, and is that i want now.
Please i'm wonder if it's posible to extract the firmware of the recovery that is 0.0.0 and put in the firmware of my muvo v200 again. I'm sure that works again with all computers.
Believe me, when i say that i read almost all the faqs and messages, and i try a lot of possibilites during 3 days.
I'm waiting an answer thanks a lot in advance.

    Hi rufustfirefly
Were you trying to install the following firmware?
    Creative MuVo V200 Firmware 1.13.03
    Dated Aug 21, 2015
    File Name : MuVoV200_PCFW_LF_1_13_03.exe
If this is the correct file, do note there is already a warning in the description that explicitly states the following:
"...web release note. This firmware removes your player's FM recording feature."
In any case, let me confirm whether this can be rolled back.

ah. the file you linked twice to is for this: http://www.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=23&subcategory=25&product=099 a completly different product than the MuVoTX 28MB (which for some reason is listed as a separate product from the other MuVo TX (28/256/52) versions...), that's why you were having the problems.
good to know you got your muvo working again though. Message Edited by batkinson00 on 02-24-2005 0:26 PM

  • MUVO TX SE imoprtant questi

Hi, i would like to ask...
.Why isn't a MuvoTX SE firmware available on creative webpage. Is MuvoTX(or TX FM) firmware suitable for MuvoTX SE?
2.Are there any other differences between MuvoTX and MuvoTX SE?(I just know that accessories in the package are slightly different and i think that MuvoTX SE has longer playtime than MuvoTX)
3.Can somebody tell me, why is then MuvoTX SE cheaper than MuvoTX? :0)

. I'm pretty sure the SE is just a different packaged version of the MuVo TX original, hence MuVo TX firmware updates should work.
    2. I believe it's just accessories... perhaps it has a different colour scheme? Maybe a Mod knows more...
    3. Prices are often illogical

  • V200: Possibly helpful hint regarding reloading firmware and reformatting data a

    Hi
I have a GB MuVo V200 (firmware .0.03e) and I decided to reload the firmware
from the NomadWorld web site to put plain old version .0.03 (no 'e' at the end)
I eventually got this to work, but not at first. Here's an account of what happened.
However, first I tried to install the firmware .0.03 that I got from the Creative.com
    website. See http://www.europe.creative.com/support/downloads/
I got the version for WinXP as I wanted to do this from my PC at work.
I tried to do it and it seemed to go OK. note I also chose to REFORMAT DATA AREA at the
time of reflashing my firmware. Anyway, I then transferred an MP3 to my MuVo and
tried to use it. However, the MuVo said No Music when I poserd it up. I then checked
the Muvo on my PC and on the removable dri've the mp3 file had been removed from the muvo
by the Muvo itself it seems! However, it did keep the folder, namely U2.
For the technical among you, note that the the REFORMAT DATA AREA did correctly
produce a FAT6 partition table on the MuVo starting at sector 45 (It seems that
the MuVo RESERVES the first 44 sectors, about 0.03MB) of the GB disk dri've for its
own use. I think in this reserved area there are some important files and the all
important Root folder! For some reason this Root folder was not getting put on there
    I believe.
Anyway, I eventually fixed the problem in this way.
I went home and decided to load the firmware v.0.03 that I downloaded from NomadWorld
I did this using my Windows 2000 PC (on which I previously installed the CD
that came with my MuVo) and this worked. Yes, I also chose to reformat the
data area at the same time (i.e. I checked the box for this and then clicked START.)
The only differences between my home and work PC are:
. Work PC uses WinXP but home PC uses Win2000
    2. I had previously installed the MuVo CD-ROM that cam with my MuVo on my
home PC, and then I installed and ran the firmware exe program from the
    internet.
Point 2 is important I feel.
My GUESS is that there _may_ be some all important drivers or something loaded
from the original CD ROM which the firmware updater program needs in order to correctly
put files/data such as the Root folder into this RESERVED AREA of 0.03 MBytes
at the beginning of the GB flash dri've. The Microsoft Windows FAT reformatting
program will not and cannot touch this reserved area, since all Windows sees is
the actual FAT partition of the disk, which starts at sector 44. If can happily
reformat this disk partition to FAT or FAT32, but it cannot do anything more thatn this.
So, if you're having problems with reformatting or reflahsing the firmware, make sure
you have first installed the Installtion CD-ROM that came with you MuVo.
Hope the above is of some use to someone.

I do not own a V200, but a TX FM 52MB which is similar to the V200.
I never installed a driver from Creative using WindowsXP and the firmware-flash worked several times, with and without the "format data area"-option.
So you are right, the problem is not the operating system.
I used an old mp3-flashplayer before, that sometimes crashed because of electric discharges.
Sometimes after a crash the device used to delete files that I recorded with the microphone, as soon as I plugged it into the USB-port.
Everytime this happened I had to reformat it. Other files were not deleted, just all in the "Voice"-folder.
It was a "Jamba mystic U 00 28MB" that used a Sigmatel-chip. The creatice-players (at least the TX FM) use sigmatel as well, just the newer version.
So there are similarities between your experiences and mine. In both cases the filesystem got messed up and the player deleted files.
I did not have a crash or a disappearing file with my TX FM until now.
    bye, elmulti

  • Muvo V200 512MB randomly shuts d

    Hi, I have a Muvo V200 52MB.
I usually have to try *many* times before it accepts to turn on. And when it does, it shuts down a few seconds later, randomly. It has an even greater chance of shutting down if I ever dare touching a button.
This is not a battery issue. Tried new batteries, no better luck.
I installed the drivers on my PC, I reflashed the firmware, tried last version, previous version, reformatted the dri've a few times, no better luck.
    Any idea ?
    Thanks

Well, i have the same problem as it has been mentioned here.i have a Muvo Tx USB 2.0 52 MB without radio.2 days ago when i was listening my mp3 player in the bathtube =), it shut down itself.i did not paid any attention at first but when tried to jump on the next song it again shut down itself. Now my player opens when i press any button once instead of pressing the /0 button a few seconds. And it shuts down when i press any button once a time as it behaves when opening.i cannot reach the menu or any other function. My player only plays the last song from eactly where it'shas been on the last opening. Cannot change it , or jump on to other songs. i had got another problem with it 3 months ago and downloaded NoMad Muvo Tx Firmware v..22.03.(When asking info about firmware, it shows its version as .0.5.675, NoMad Muvo Tx Firmware Download Application)This was a problem which my player did not work and when i had connected it to any PC with a winXP sp2 (both on russian and english) windows only launched the true "ini" files and recognized my player but could not display the player on "my computer". When i had tried to reach my player, windows displayed a message, "Critical I/O error, Couldnt retrieve device info.." The firmware update which i have mentioned above have helped me immediately as well i have no such problems again till the day before yesterday. Now, please what must i do with this buzzling problem Can anybody hear me

  • MuVo N 200 new firmwa

Hi, just a little question: will MuVo N200 firmware still be developed in the future or is developing regarded as "done"? The latest fw is .2.0 (24.02.2005) and has still some annoying bugs (which were reported here).

No one knows for sure.... guess if they are rebranding the n200 to nano plus then all future firmware update for the nano plus should works for the n200..... so keep those fingers of yours crossed.

  • Zen Nano and some directories not playing in track ord

Hi, I just bought a Zen Nano Plus and I've noticed that some album directories play in track order based on the track numbers found in the id3 tags while some directories play files in alphabetical order. All my directories on the Nano right now are for single full albums. I took a look at the files in two different directories and I can't see any difference in file naming or tagging that would cause this difference in playback order. They were even both ripped by the same ripper just weeks apart too which is odd.
I did look at the comments for the latest Muvo N200 firmware update and I noticed a blurb about directory play back not being consistent. Does the Zen Nano have the same problem as the Muvo N200? Is there a firmware forthcomming for this issue? Thanks.
    Tom

The N200 plays the track in alpha-numeric order - I'm sure the Nano isn't very much (if at all) different from the N200
Like 0, 02, 03, a, b, c, ID3 tags don't affect anything except the song title comming up, as far as I'm aware.

Im just curious, so many ppl reported it, and its still

    Hello Studio X
I have an iPad2 with 64 GB. After I start the videorecording it stops automaticly by 49 minutes en 51 seconds.
I looked in my settings and there was still enough space left. Although I do not think that the 64Gb is not the problem.
I bought myself an alternative recording app now. I hope it works properly but if the quality is OK. I do not know. I combine the recordings with my video (digitaltape) camera of Sony.
