Muvo C100 - Backlight display - No T

I have a lightly used Muvo C00. I know it is EOL, but it is still in fantastic shape except for one problem.
After a 2 years of intermittent use, the display has a problem. The blue backlight comes on, but I? cannot see any text, therefore cannot do anything but use as an external USB dri've.
Yes, it shows up fine when connected to my PC or Mac, yes I updated the firmware. Still has a problem.
I cannot find a reset button or hole to stick with a paperclip, not sure if it has one.
Has anyone had the same problem with their C00, and what was the resolution?

Solved the problem, but not sure if will work all the time.
First, voided the already past warranty by disassembling unit, removed plastic back, SD card reader, and seperated circuit board from front case.
Next, touched a paperclip to whatever pair of solder bumps I saw on the front and back of the circuit board.
Lastly, reassembled and tested.
I noticed the SD card reader came out too easily, so maybe that was the issue.
Date and time did not reset, so maybe the solder humps do not have any effect.
Whatever I did, it worked.

MuVo TX FM display and power prob

hello to all! good evening...i've been the owner of a creative MuVo TX FM for a little over a year now and im extremely satisfied with it. it was extremely reliable and handy and was a worthy competitor against the shuffle...it never gave me any problems at all and i was quite happy with it...
recently, it started acting up and anytime i press and hold the power button, the LCD display just flashes and nothing happens...the light goes on and keeps flashing at sec intervals!!! thats all that happens...i have to keep trying and hold it and after repeated attempts and if the player thinks im worth it, it goes on!! its really irritating and ANY help at all will be really appreciated!! thanks for your time! hope for a reply soon!

LED Backlight Display in the future?

Any one know whether Apple is planning on going to a LED back light display rather than the Cold Cathode Flourescent Lamp (CCFL) backlight? Flourescent's give me migraines and I hear the LED backlight is far superior due to electrical usage, heat as well as better picture.

Sorry, but no one outside of Apple knows anything about future product releases. Anything anyone here would post would be pure speculation which isn't allowed here (the Discussions are for technical support on existing products). There are a number of rumor sites which you can read, but as to whether any rumors they report have any validity, your guess will be as good as ours.

Black macbook backlight display issue

im working on a friends macbook. the issue is the display. the laptop boots up just fine but after laptop has powered up the screen stays dark. the battery is charged. when the "f2" is tapped once the display lights up a little. when pressed again it goes back to dim. i then have to press the "f1" key to bring down to the lowest setting. i do this all over again some times i can get to around the 3rd brightness setting then it automatically drops to dim. i assume the backlight bulb itself is ok so am i right in saying the inverter is going bad or is there something in the "f1" "f2" keys that is not making a good connection. I hope i explained this well enough. Thanks.

Actually, I don't think you can hook up the USB to a RGB cable.
Wich imputs does your projector support? VGA?
If your projector supports VGA imput you can use a displayport cable with VGA exit and plug the projector there.

Muvo C100 Sport SD - MMC Card Problem

Hi there,
i recieved my new MuVo C00 Sport a few days ago! I have a big prob with external memory cards.
tried sd and mmc cards with 52mb. the player does not initialize the cards after "power on"...
jumping to the external card shows the info "no music"! after plug out and in of the card while the player is on,
the card gets readable...
is this a firmware bug? i have testet 3 different 52mb cards (sd and mmc). this is no good news, cause i do not want to plug the card every time i turn the player on, even when i go out for a run!!!
can anyone share his experiences with me about that?

Also the Muvo C00 does not even read the size of the card or free space, only that it is there I have also tried formating in FAT/32, to no avail.
"If I have no music on the internal memory, after I turn it on, it stalls for about 30sec-2minutes then it displays "No Music". If there is music on the internal dri've, then it plays from the internal dri've and then says there is no music in the external card. The only way I can get it to work is by turning the player on, then inserting the card. It reads almost immediately with this method. After I restart it, then it won't read at all. It's very frustrating. I know it should work, but it won't.".......
Despite the issues I am still keeping the player as it fits me needs nicely, and of course I expect Creative to support this product like any other sooo I can wait for the fix that is sure to come.

MuVo N200 screen displays only the Creative l

I have owned my Creative MuVo N200 for 3 years. Recently, it will display only the Creative logo. Although I know that music is loaded on there, the songs are neither displayed nor are they played. Is it time for a new MP3? What is the life expectancy anyways?

Try downloading the latest firmware update from website and use it to update and format the player. Remember to check the option 'Format Data Area'. Backup your player data first though.

Backlight Display Icon Not Transparent, Help.

Recently I noticed that my backlight icon has a black background color, instead of being transparent. Really weird right? Please help, I can't stand looking at it. Any ideas people?

What if you set the display icon layer lower than the flash
layer. That way when the flash loads you will not see the display
icon contents and when you erase the flash the display icon is
still there.

MuVo C100 Sport and KingMax SD Card Prob

I just bought a MuVo C00 about a week ago and I love it. I already upgraded the firmware and had no problems doing it.
The problem I have is that it doesn't seem to like the KingMax Secure Digital Cards I have. I have about 3 52MB Kingmax SD cards that I use with my Camera, PDA, and my former MP3 player. I've used these cards in those devices for about 5 months. I had hoped that I could just pop it in and get going. No such luck.
If I have no music on the internal memory, after I turn it on, it stalls for about 30sec-2minutes then it displays "No Music". If there is music on the internal dri've, then it plays from the internal dri've and then says there is no music in the external card.
The only way I can get it to work is by turning the player on, then inserting the card. It reads almost immediately with this method. After I restart it, then it won't read at all. It's very frustrating. I know it should work, but it won't.
I've tried reformatting it in both FAT and FAT32. No luck.
Has anyone had any experience/problems with the KingMax SD card with any of their devices? The Kingmax cards are all VERY thin compared to other brands.
At first, I could only think that it has something to do with losing connection but that doesn't make sense since the player shouldn't read at all after inserting it. Why wouldn't it read after that if it hasn't moved at all?
What brand of memory should be considered safe for use with the C00?

Why is my backlight display lit for only 5 seconds while making a call (Brightside phone)

When I go to settings, I see that it is set for 2 minutes and indeed it does stay lit for that amount of time if I am not making a call, but as soon as I dial a phone number and especially when I get into an automated menu system where I need to press 1 to get to a different menu and then other numbers to finally get to talk to someone, the display goes black. I have tried swiping the screen which does not help. The only thing that I can do is press the curly arrow that points to the left to have the display light come back on for another 4 seconds, then press the button called keypad and hurry and press a number to continue with the menu system.
I talked with Verizon and was told can do a complete reset, but I don't want to lose my contacts. I went to backup assistant online but keep getting the arrows that go around and around forever and won't let me see if they are backed up. I want to view my contacts online and I want to print them. What's wrong with that site?
I will say this. Do not buy the Brightside phone. It is not a smart phone. It's a touch phone and when you touch anything, things come on like the camera or makes calls to my favorite contacts. sheesh! I can't wait until our contract with Verizon is over with.

I just bought the phone yesterday and have noticed the same issue. The verizon guy i just spoke to said that needed to be fixed, so he transferred me to Samsung tech support. I'm waiting for them to pick up . . .
Okay, spoke to a very nice person who concluded that this was not an option that could be adjusted. The light apparently stays on for about 6 secs.
I was hoping it could be changed, so that's disappointing, but the reason it goes dark makes a lot of sense: it keeps you from hitting buttons accidentally while you're on the phone, so you can hold the phone in your hand, to your ear, etc. without worrying about activating something unintentionally. Also saves battery.

I have a faulty backlight that doesn't work, was wondering if anyone had any info on possibly fixing the problem.

Do you by any chance disable the backlight function in the Setting menu? If not, most likely it's a hardware failure.

Muvo C100 Win98 Driv

Well.. I've lost my installation disk... And i have every single install i could find to try to install my Muvo C00 Sport on my computer. I run Windows 98se by the way... I've looked everywhere.. I have the firmware and all of that, but nothing will install because there's no drivers installed... So, i'm wondering where can i get them?I've read all around.. Maybe i didn't look hard enough, if i didn't, i apologize for this post... But i found nothing at all here about it. There was a few things i saw that looked helpful.. But they turned out to be little more than what i've been seeing everywhere for the last month and a half.
Any help at all would be great.. Thanks.

Muvo C100 Sport Firmware update FAIL

I tried updating to MuVoC00_PCFW_LB__0_0.exe and it gave me some obscure message about a semaphore timeout and now the c00 won't even power on. of course since it won't power on it can't been seen by windows xp. it is DEAD! i've tried removing the battery and holding the menu button while replacing the battery; NOTHING!
How can I bring this thing back to life?

I'm not sure what the recovery mode is for the C00, and if it differs from the other MuVo players, but it sounds like you ought to contact Creative Support direct.

Backlight display of iPad on white border? Is it a manufacturing defect? PLEASE HELP!!!!1

OK guys i have a white iPad and the other i noticed when i held it up to the light i saw a white line about 2-3 cm think 1 inch long on the WHITE BORDER of my ipad and i was wondering if it was a manufacturing defect OR not because i called apple and told them about the fproblem and they said it was going to cost $299 to fix it. but i am well under the apple waranty for manufacturing defects. and i am absolutely sure i have not caused the screen light to show through the border. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICOULOUS COULD SOMEBODY PLEASE INFORM ME!!!

No reason to shout (all caps is angry). Make an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar. You are under warranty and if there is an issue with your iPad, they will replace it at no charge to you (as long as there is no visible damage on your iPad).

Hiss Sound on MuVo V

I just bought a <MuVo V200 256mb.Everytime the backlight is turned ON, I hear a "hiss" sound.
When backlight is turned OFF, the "hiss" sound disappear.
I believe this problem is silimar to what others experience on their <MuVo N200 models. When will there be a firmware update for <MuVo V200? I have formatted my mp3 player and reload the most recent .0.03 firmware, but the problem still persists. If this problem can be solved by a firmware update, that would be great as i don't have time to go down to the service centre.
I notice that a fairly accurate description of the problem is silmilar to that experienced by the author of http://www-users.rwth-aachen.de/Niko.Wilbert/click/. This website was previously posted in one of the postings in this forum.

its because of the way that these backlight displays work
once you understand this it is quite easy to see where the hiss comes from
basically all the backlit LCD screens function like this
in the early 80s there was a technological brakethrough which allowed scientists to crossbread a gloworm and a snake rusulting in a glowsnake... if you hit a glowsnake with a rollingpin it becomes flat and you can fit it in an lcd screen. it spends most of its time asleep but when you tell the backlight to come on the player awakens it by sending a radio signal to a snake charmer in north east india and the snake charmer plays the waking up song for your corresponding glowsnake. when the snake awakens it produces mainly blue and green colours and makes a hissing sound.
recent studies have shown that you could crossbreed a sloath and a gloworm and sloaths dont make many noises so you would have a silent backlight... i dont belei've this though, the idea of a sloath backlight sounds stupid to me.

5800 xm backlight notify

Hey every one I got my new 5800 xm and updated it to the latest firmware only because when I lock the phone keypad and when a new message arrives the LCD does not brightens up the phone gives only the notification sound and the led blinks and when the phone is not locked then the LCD brightens too and the sound is also heard and the phone vibrates too I had gone through the entire phone kindly tell if is there any way that we can turn on the backlight display too on when the new message or email arrives or is this the normal behavior of 5800 xm???

ok, do you want to disable auto screen lock?
i dont use a 5800, i use an N97 classic and they both use the same OS, so i guess this will work on a 5800
To disable auto screen lock-
goto MENU--->> SETTINGS--->>PHONE--->>PHONE MGMT--->>AUTO KEYGUARD
and set KEYPAD AUTOLOCK PERIOD to 'NONE'
