Muvo n200 battery li

what's up with the battery lid on the muvo n200?
i bought my mp3-player aound the beginning of december 2004 and the little "thing" at the end of the lid (which holds it in place) has broken TWO times!!! is there anything i can do about this? for example, can i have 2-3 lids (and of course pay for them) or something? because i can't use the player when the battery falls out all the time!!!
the first time i dropped the player about feet (i was sitting on the couch and dropped it on a carpet in our living room while making homweork). second time it happend was this morning when i had to replace the battery...
you should REALLY do something about this, SOON!
i would like to hear from you soon!
regards,
martin.

Smau,
It would depend on if this particular part was available at the time it happened, however there would be the option to send the entire player in if the parts weren't available. In the case of something like this happening it would be best to contact them directly and arranging the repair as needed.

  • MuVo N200 Screen Too Small To Re

    Hi,
I just bought the MuVo N200 (52MB using Win XPHome) and trying to figure it out. Now that I got the software up (w latest the firmware installed), I'm challenged by the tiny screen area.
Dunno if I'll rue this purchase therefore!
Getting out by sunlight or holding it under a bright light helps (The backlight goes off before I've begun to make things out). A magnifying glass helps a bit too.
How have others of you managed with this (I can't be the only one!)
    Thanks
    Chet

I would like a larger display, although that would probably mean that player needs to be larger. That would be okay though, since I also want the player to use a AA battery and have an AM and FM tuner. Having models with 52 meg, gig, and 2 gigs to start(with higher capacity models coming later as flash memory prices drop). I would also like to see a deluxe model with a much higher quality mic(so students can adequately record lectures given in large lecture halls, or businessmen could record meetings) and a high quality line in(then the mic and line in could be omitted on the standard model).

  • Muvo N200 switching o

Hi, My Muvo n200 switches off when I scroll through my music folders. I have had the player for 3 days and it was ok at first.
Now when I switch it on, go to skip folder and scroll through the folders it just switches its self off.
It is not the battery. Also some times I switch on and light comes on , I get the CREATIVE logo followed by muvo n200 logo then it switches off .
Is there a fix for this problem or do I have a dud ?
I can scroll through the options menu ok.
    Thank you for any help.
    Mike

    Mike,
Try formatting it and loading the new firmware onto it. If it's still the same, you should contact Customer Support as there could be a problem with your player.

  • Muvo n200 - background noise, to l

    hey hi
i bought muvo n200 and i had problem with voice recording because it was to quiet, so i decided to upgrade firmware, but after i have these problems:
. voice recording always to quiet
    2. but music and radio plays to loud, at minimum volume is FM still so loud that i can't hear when somebody talks to me
    3. thare is the backgroud noise, when the backlit is on, after i updated, before it wasn't
help please, otherwise i kill the player

no exact procedure, i was just trying with a bad feeling that something bad (with the player) will happen
i downgraded from .20.04 (latest), don't know what was the original version in the player, battery was in,
i've tried to run the .2.0 in normal mode and it did some errors (as expected), nothing happend
than i've tried it in recovery mode (i had problems to connect it - some drivers problem i suppose), but i did it, than i ran the .2 firmware and was trying to start(the firmware upgrade) it but i got some error or something, i tried all the buttons there, i think i wanted to format the stuff - it didn't work, and finally i ran again the start and curiously it started to upgrade - as u can see no exact process - realy don't remember how, i was only trying and suppose the firmware too (many creative bugs), (maybe it installed some drivers between i pushed the same button later)
but i remeber after i disconected the player there was still the usb connection logo on the player display, so i needed to reset it (removing battery), (and was hoping i didn't destroy it), and than power on and the excitement moment and .... it worked (luck?)
    maybe i'll write a creative novel :-|

  • Muvo N200 auto-resume?? (for audio boo

    Greetings,
Does the Muvo N200 automatically resume playback from where it left off after power off? How about after changing the battery? I'm planning on using the N200 for audio books, so the resume feature is very important.
Any other comments on using the N200 for audio books?
    Thanks in advance...

After considerable research, I have figured out the problem, re: RESUME on the N200. Evidently, the problem is with Audible Files. 90 percent of the Audible files I have downloaded have retained the RESUME function; but two recent files did not. That may be Audible's fault, or it may flow from disconnecting the USB too soon--before the file transfer is complete.
I confirfmed this by testing other Audible files where the RESUME function worked; and on MP3 and WMA files, where RESUME also worked without a hitch.
    Hope this hel

  • Muvo n200- exchange it or jack

I bought a muvo n200 three weeks ago. It was working great until a week ago. I was listening to a track, it started to distort a bit here and there, and then it stopped in a loop of distortion.
I replaced the battery a few times with similar results. The track would proceed for a minute and a half with occasional distortion before freezing altogether. Additionally, the track count time was wrong. It would count ,2,3,4,5,6(fast), <skip 7>, 8(slow), 9,0,,2,3(fast). The specific numbers would change, but the pattern is basically the same.
I removed all the tracks and placed a single album back on with the same result.
I installed the muvo n200 drivers from the CD (previously just used windowsXP explorer to transfer tracks) and formatted the player (fat32), placed an album back on and had the same result.
After emailing support, I installed the latest drivers (MuVoN200_PCFW_LB__2_0). Now, the tracks seem to play and there is no freezing, but the track counter problem persists. A 2:33 track shows as 4:6.
Thank you for making it this far. Is there something else I can do to fix this? If I take this back to Fry's, should I exchange it for another n200 or just get a different type of player altogether? I like the concept of the n200 (no moving parts, inline radio), but I keep reading more horror stories on these forums.
    Thanks...

Little bit strange, I'd get it exchanged for another one because the N200 is an excellent little unit and very high quality. If you have problems again (very very unlikely), you may want to see if you can get something else.
If you do have the same problems again, it could be that your MP3 or WMA files are corrupted? Have you tried re-ripping your music from CD?Message Edited by scorpian007 on 07--2005 02:42 AM

  • Muvo n200 freez

    hello
my creative muvo n200 keeps freezing on me at the n200 screen. I have tried taking the battery out and replacing it but that does not work.
I have attempted to download the new firmware onto it but it says to start my player in recovery mode before completing the install. What is recovery mode?
Also when I attempt to safely remove my player, it says the generic volume cannot be stopped right now. please try again later.
someone please help me with these problems.
    many thanks
    lee

    Lee,
The steps to put the player into recovery mode are outline in the firmware downloaded page. Check this out and look under the Notes section.

  • MuVo N200 - help me, its de

I have a MuVo N200 player (28) and I used it for 6 months with no problem. Then my PC was formatted and before I reinstalled the software, I connected the player. After that it stopped working and when I connect it to the USB port, it just shows some display that it is connected.
Net I tried re-installing the software, but strangely the driver is not getting installed and now the device is also not gettign detected on the PC.
Even tried Device Manager but it shows no driver installed. I downloaded the following drivers from the internet but nothing happens as the player is not getting detected:
    MuVoN200_PCFW_LF__20_04.exe
    MuVoN200_PCFW_L4__5_0.exe
    MuVoN200_PCFW_LB___0.exe
What do I do? Pls help!

Please download the recovery mode driver and install it first:
    http://uk.europe.creative.com/support/downloads/download2.asp?MainCategory=23&Product=0&dlcentric= 7954&Product_Name=MuVo+Micro+N200&OSName=Windows+X P
Now, remove the battery from your player. With the battery removed, hold down the Play button and connect the USB cable. Wait for Windows XP to detect your unit. It will take longer then usual, and the device will most likely have a STMP or STAC name right now. Let go of the Play button.
    Install the firmware update:
    http://uk.europe.creative.com/support/downloads/download2.asp?MainCategory=23&Product=0737&dlcentr ic=947&Product_Name=MuVo+Micro+N200&OSName=Windows +XP
Be sure to tick "Format Data Area". Due to flash memory corruption, your music was already lost before you started. It is likely that you will receive a warning that the flash memory is not initialised. Accept it and continue.
Once this process completes (the Close button will become acti've), you still need to format your MuVo dri've in FAT32.
If you receive any error messages, be sure to write them down.
If this procedure does not make the N200 usable, you will need to contact customer support and ask for an RMA. Feel free to describe that you have tried a firmware upgrade in recovery mode. They will want to know what error messages you received in this process.
Note that the RMA procedure only applies if the unit is less then 2 months old.

  • MuVo N200-No Free Space--Doesn't play eit

Had the Muvo N200 for about 2 months and it worked great. Changed the battery the last time then all of a sudden the thing tells me there's no music! Plug it into the computer and it looked fine...all the folders and files were still there and it was only half full. Unpluged it and nothing! On the info section it says TOTAL

Try to update the firmware and format the dri've and see if it recovers.
If all else fails, contact the creative support.

HELP! My muvo n200 player simply turned off. When I turn the power on, it begins to start of, but dies again before a song gets a chance to play. I already considered that the battery may be out but I replaced the batteries about 3 times to make sure the batteries weren't the old ones.. i also reformated & deleted & change my mp3's knowing maybe my files were corupt but the problem is still there.. Can somebody please help! tnxs...

I have the same problem, what firmware update do i need? The only one I can find on the web site seems to be for viewing Thai characters only...
That is just the fix in the latest firmware - it does verything that the earlier firmwares did as well.
I would try version .2.0 first - it is not available on the Download page but you can still get it here.

  • MuVo N200 bro

my mp3 (muvo n200) isnt workin...it makes a clickin sound when i turn it on then the screen will go blank and then nothing responds and the only way i can turn it off is remove the battery. It registers on my computer and i have tried multiple batteries....i have damaged it....can anyone please help me?

    Hi,
Since the N200 has not moving parts I can only guess that the clickling you are hearing is an eletrical short of some kind. It does should as if the player is faulty. I'd contact Customer Services and quote this thread.
    Hope this hel

My MuVo is not working properly, what can I do?
The first thing to try with a misbehaving MuVo is to update the firmware. Get the latest version from Nomadworld.com downloads and make sure to follow the instructions exactly that are accessed from <EM>show details </EM>at the download page.

  • Muvo N200 - Rechargeable batteri

Does anyone know if I can use rechargeable batteries (Ni-Mh) on Muvo N200?

Yes, although some users have had trouble using new nimh batteries. It is strange that this occured. Do a search of this forum to read the threads. If you do plan to use nimh batteries with the n200, make sure to get a charger that has a separate charging circuit for each battery. Many chargers charge batteries in pairs(or even 4 in one circuit), and this will not properly charge batteries that are in different stages of discharge(since they have been used one at a time). The chargers with a separate charging circuit for each battery usually have a separate charging light for each battery.
