Muvo N200 discontinued in the U

I was reading the reviews on amazon.co.uk about the N200 and saw that it was not in stock / discontinued. It says that the replacement model is the Creative Zen nano Plus GB. Does anyone know if this is really the case or is it just Amazon ? If its now discontinued then I assume we have seen the last of the firmware updates.
I like my white Gb N200 a lot (bought it in March) and use it for about 0 hours a week. The only issue I have with it is the badly made battery cover. Despite being gentle with it it has broken so I keep it in the rubber case all the time.
Also some of those reviewers on Amazon moan about things without having checked here for the solutions to their problems.

I also agree that the name change was a bad move. I think it's more the case that the MuVos work as USB mass storage (hence files/folders), whereas the Zens work as a device (with tag based storage). With the two different product lines it's very clear, so it seems a strange decision to suddenly drop this. Although I'm not sure that the average user knows the difference between the product lines.

  • MuVo N200 went thru the wash

Okay, my Muvo N200 went thru the wash. It still turns on, but while it's on all the buttons function as off.
I connected it to the computer, and it prompted me to insert the install disk for "Recovery". However, all this did was make a SysRestore point.
    Anybody got any ideas?

I have no idea man.. all I can say is water and electronics dont mix

  • Muvo N200 prob

I have a muvo n200 which for the past few days has turned itself off when ever i tried to increase up the volume. I tried to resintall the latest firmware upgrade but now my player has stopped working. When I turn on the player all i get is dots on the lcd screen with the backlight on. I tried to reinstall the firmware again and the firmware cant find the player connected to the computer, although windows explorer detects the device. Please can you help. Thanks in advance.

If it's recognised on the PC, try formatting it first and then try updating the firmware again. If you can try the player on another PC, try updating the firmware there to see if it works.
Otherwise it would be best to contact Customer Support for assistance, the player could be faulty.

  • Muvo n200- exchange it or jack

I bought a muvo n200 three weeks ago. It was working great until a week ago. I was listening to a track, it started to distort a bit here and there, and then it stopped in a loop of distortion.
I replaced the battery a few times with similar results. The track would proceed for a minute and a half with occasional distortion before freezing altogether. Additionally, the track count time was wrong. It would count ,2,3,4,5,6(fast), <skip 7>, 8(slow), 9,0,,2,3(fast). The specific numbers would change, but the pattern is basically the same.
I removed all the tracks and placed a single album back on with the same result.
I installed the muvo n200 drivers from the CD (previously just used windowsXP explorer to transfer tracks) and formatted the player (fat32), placed an album back on and had the same result.
After emailing support, I installed the latest drivers (MuVoN200_PCFW_LB__2_0). Now, the tracks seem to play and there is no freezing, but the track counter problem persists. A 2:33 track shows as 4:6.
Thank you for making it this far. Is there something else I can do to fix this? If I take this back to Fry's, should I exchange it for another n200 or just get a different type of player altogether? I like the concept of the n200 (no moving parts, inline radio), but I keep reading more horror stories on these forums.
    Thanks...

Little bit strange, I'd get it exchanged for another one because the N200 is an excellent little unit and very high quality. If you have problems again (very very unlikely), you may want to see if you can get something else.
If you do have the same problems again, it could be that your MP3 or WMA files are corrupted? Have you tried re-ripping your music from CD?Message Edited by scorpian007 on 07--2005 02:42 AM

It says I still have room but when i try a message comes up disk is full. I am using a macintosh with mac os 0.3.8. I am just dragging and dropping and unable to use the windows software. Is there somesort of a partition that I am not aware of. How can I fix this so I can use more disk space.

  • MuVo N200 screen displays only the Creative l

I have owned my Creative MuVo N200 for 3 years. Recently, it will display only the Creative logo. Although I know that music is loaded on there, the songs are neither displayed nor are they played. Is it time for a new MP3? What is the life expectancy anyways?

    kungfookiller,
Try downloading the latest firmware update from website and use it to update and format the player. Remember to check the option 'Format Data Area'. Backup your player data first though.

  • Mp3 wont play but radio works Muvo N200 51

My Creative MuVo Micro N200 52MB worked fine for /2 a year and then all of a sudden, only radio works and mp3's work some of thge time. This is also the same playlist that worked fine about 2 weeks ago. I downloaded new firmnware and drivers and I still have the problem. Anyone come across this before or know of what it could be? Its kinda baffling. I loved the player before this happened. Now it is just a tiny FM-only radio for me. Thanks.

Could it possibly be Copy Protection on the Mp3 file itself thats preventing the player from playing the music?
My V200 (Its just like the N200 except its designed like the MuVo TX FM with the removeable battery pack) Has never been able to play Copy protected Mp3's or Wma's... ever, Even though the firmware updates claim to allow it to play those types of files...
Are you using music that you downloaded from one of the many online stores that copy protect their music?
Try ripping a CD to the hard dri've and then transfer it to the player and try that out...

  • Muvo n200-not find by

    hello
I got a big problem with my muvo N200. When I connect it through usb to pc it's not recognized.the picture which shows that player is connected to pc is not appearing. I can't upgrade the firmware and do anything with usb. I tried this on other pc's and different usb cables....where's the problem?

Try this:?http://forums.creative.com/creativel...ssage.id=23264?Read posts 3 and 4. Several N200 owners have gotten satisfaction from this, e.g.,?http://forums.creative.com/creativel...d=00348#M62247?I occasionally come back here to check on N200 failures, because Creative just won't put this in their FAQ, I guess they feel they have to see it work for themselves. Even the uber-posters won't acknowledge this fix discovered by AB84. Hope it works for you, as it has for several of us.

  • Does MuVo N200 fully support Traditional Chinese charact

I wonder if MuVo Micro N200 sold in the UK fully support Traditional Chinese character and some Asian languages such as Japanese(both in showing MP3 file/song name and in user interface)?
Or, I can only get UK-spec N200 and it only shows English/European Languages?

No, the unicode support have bugs for reading the id3 tags.
    Some characters are missed sometimes.
    Its no good.

  • MuVo N200 Screen Too Small To Re

    Hi,
I just bought the MuVo N200 (52MB using Win XPHome) and trying to figure it out. Now that I got the software up (w latest the firmware installed), I'm challenged by the tiny screen area.
Dunno if I'll rue this purchase therefore!
Getting out by sunlight or holding it under a bright light helps (The backlight goes off before I've begun to make things out). A magnifying glass helps a bit too.
How have others of you managed with this (I can't be the only one!)
    Thanks
    Chet

I would like a larger display, although that would probably mean that player needs to be larger. That would be okay though, since I also want the player to use a AA battery and have an AM and FM tuner. Having models with 52 meg, gig, and 2 gigs to start(with higher capacity models coming later as flash memory prices drop). I would also like to see a deluxe model with a much higher quality mic(so students can adequately record lectures given in large lecture halls, or businessmen could record meetings) and a high quality line in(then the mic and line in could be omitted on the standard model).

  • I really need help with my creative MuVo N200 mp3 pla

i got my MuVo N200 mp3 player for chirtmas of last year, and it stopped working in 3 months. it used to shut off every few minutes and the mic doesnt work any more and i cant record music from the radio. right now it doesnt even work for a minute, it shuts off as soon as i try and turn it on. i emailed creative when it first started happening and they sent me a email saying what to do on there website, something about downloading something. i tryed it and it didnt work, im not sure if i didnt do it right. And right now i have no idea what to do. and creative won't help me unless i pay them money to fix it for me which im not about to do. has anyone have the same problem with the MuVo N200 mp3 player? what am i suppose to do to fix it's I still have there email telling me what to do, but i just dont get how to do it and if it will work. It only worked for me 3 months, and now im mad and thinking about buying a new one thats not from creative but i really want to try fixing it again to see if it will work. please help me.

Good question, unfortunately I have absolutely no idea. Reflashing/-formatting generally takes care of the usual cases of wonkyness this player develops, and there isn't anything more drastic you as a user could do.
Do you have a directory named "Recorded Tracks" on your player? Should be created automatically, but if it isn't you could try creating it manually...

  • PLEASE HELP MUVO N200 ERROR EVERY TIME I TRY AND DOWNLOAD A SONG

hi every time i try and download a song it says error. i put it into recovery mode and it fixes it but i have to unload all the songs off and then start again but the same thing happens again and sometimes i don't even know if my player goes into recovery mode because my computer doesn't detect it. is there anything i can do about the error every time i try an ddownload a song? please help i am relly frustrated!!

"Download" as in from LimeWire or some such program? Or loading your player with songs.
If it's from LimeWire, the song file is probably corrupted.
If it's loading your player with songs, either you haven't installed the player's corresponding driver correctly, or something's happened to corrupt your firmware.
Try downloading the firmware from Creative and re-loading it onto your player. Very easy to do.
If that doesn't fix anything, try uninstalling and then re-installing the Creative MuVo N200 driver onto your computer. Get somebody that <EM>really</EM> knows what they're doing to help you.

  • Muvo N200 FM Radio - no stereo so

    I have a Muvo N200 52GB with latest firmware (.2.0).
The only problem I have with it is that the FM Radio sound output is mono even if the display indicates stereo reception.
I can achieve stereo sound if I pull out the headphone jack a little way but the connection is not secure if I do this and I don't have to do this to listen to WMA/MP3 music.
This could be down to firmware but I have only seen one other post with this problem.
I will try to reflash just in case but would appreciate any other suggestions.
In my opinion, even if FM reception is mono, sound output should still be directed to both right and left channels and not just one (left channel in my case).

Obviously the player is faulty as even if it's in mono you will get output from both channel. You can try reinstalling the firmware on the player and see if that helps just in case. If not, you should return to creative and get it repair.

  • MuVo N200 Ease of U

I am considering the purchase of either the MuVo N200 or TX FM (52MB). I have a portable CD player I use at the gym but have never used a flash memory player.
. How easy is it to switch between stored music and the preset FM tuner?
    2. Can toggling between encoded music and FM be done while on a treadmill?
    3. Compare the sound quality of MP3 music (28kbs), FM tuner, and portable CD player?
Any insight you have would be helpfull.

i like all of the muvos, because they are so simple. Before you work out, just go into music mode then into FM mode. After that, all you need to do is press the toggle wheel in twice (you don't even need to look at the screen).
That might not be the exact procedure, but it's something like that
