Muvo N200 hissing noise when encod

I recorded a 60 kbps MP3 sample, with NO audio source connected to the line-in connector.
Spectral display of recorded MP3 file shows +20 dB over noise floor spectral lines at 7700 Hz (left channel) and 9000 Hz (right channel), clearly audible.
When audio input was applied, spectral display shows distinct spectrum aliasing around the above mentioned frequencies.
This means that usable audio band without aliasing effects is limited to 4 KHz, which is enough for voice recordings but clearly unacceptable for music recordings.
Subsequent recordings show that these aliasing frequencies vary from 7500 to 0000 hz, always audible.
I find this highly unacceptable from a quality product like this, so I ask if anybody else has experienced this problem and if the technical support has a clear explanation for this.
Regards
Maxm

I would like to see an improved mic in a future model, so that students can adequately record lectures given in large lecture halls. Perhaps the line in could be removed from the standard model, and a premiun model released with a very high quality line in? Most people don't need a line in, however if a line in is provided, then it should be very high quality.

  • Hissing Noise When Hot?

My Macbook Air makes a hissing noise when running hot (a fan?) when running Garageband for a long time (1/2 hour or more). Will it hurt anything to continue running Garageband while it iz doing this?

The processor is designed to shut down before it gets dangerously hot. As well as the fan is designed to run at a maximum speed that will not hurt the fan. The system will protect itself.   Reguardless, what the last posted said. The fan will run at a maximum of 6000rpm when you are runnning processor intensive programs, GarageBand being one of those programs.  Many games and long HD movies will also do this. Nothing to worry about, just the computer working as it should.

If the new firmware won't fix your problems, there will be a (software) fix in the end of Februari.
More information on the background noise can you find at the old Europian forum: http://uk.europe.creative.com/suppor...asp?thre=52447
Any information from Creative about the fix?

  • Muvo n200 - background noise, to l

    hey hi
i bought muvo n200 and i had problem with voice recording because it was to quiet, so i decided to upgrade firmware, but after i have these problems:
. voice recording always to quiet
    2. but music and radio plays to loud, at minimum volume is FM still so loud that i can't hear when somebody talks to me
    3. thare is the backgroud noise, when the backlit is on, after i updated, before it wasn't
help please, otherwise i kill the player

no exact procedure, i was just trying with a bad feeling that something bad (with the player) will happen
i downgraded from .20.04 (latest), don't know what was the original version in the player, battery was in,
i've tried to run the .2.0 in normal mode and it did some errors (as expected), nothing happend
than i've tried it in recovery mode (i had problems to connect it - some drivers problem i suppose), but i did it, than i ran the .2 firmware and was trying to start(the firmware upgrade) it but i got some error or something, i tried all the buttons there, i think i wanted to format the stuff - it didn't work, and finally i ran again the start and curiously it started to upgrade - as u can see no exact process - realy don't remember how, i was only trying and suppose the firmware too (many creative bugs), (maybe it installed some drivers between i pushed the same button later)
but i remeber after i disconected the player there was still the usb connection logo on the player display, so i needed to reset it (removing battery), (and was hoping i didn't destroy it), and than power on and the excitement moment and .... it worked (luck?)
    maybe i'll write a creative novel :-|

  • MuVo N200 cackling noises resolved yet

I had returned my N200 about a month ago when I was disappointed to find that there were serious cackling noises when replaying voice recordings (I mainly use this feature), whether from the N200 or from my computer. Recently I saw a reviewer posted online (earlier this year) that a so-called firmware ver. .2.0 is now available to address this cackling noise issue. I tried to look on Creative's website, but did not see any such version, nor did I see any other updates addressing this issue. Can anyone answer the following:
) Have this cackling noise issue truly been resolved?
    2) If resolved, was the problem found to be a device issue, or a software issue?
    3) If the device itself is mechanically defected, can a software update necessarily fix it completely (as opposed to redesigning the device)?
    4) If a software issue, where can I find the update to fix the problem?
    5) If a software issue, will that also solve the cackling noise when played back using MuVo (instead of just from the computer)?
Sorry for such tedious questions, but if you think like an engineer, you would understand why I'm asking these questions. I love the concept of the N200, but am very wary of buying it again.....
    Thanks

    Hi, Simon.
Her is my oppinion which I already wrote in another thread:
    http://forums.creative.com/creativel...ssage.id=25042
Yes, Muvo v200 / n200 has some bugs, but there is still good reason to buy it:
. Very good sound quality (especially with Sony headphones).
    2. Very good battery life (some of the best known).
    3. Frequently updates (however not as frequently as we users want).
    4. Good value for money.
Personally I don't think the lightnoise bug is so bad (tested on V200). It's actually very low noise and it's only for a few seconds, so it's not a very big issue. It is worse that it does not have Folder-once playmode, so you could fall asleep to the player. Furthermore the recording sound from the microphone is almost unusable, and it's not possible to adjust recording volume.

  • MuVo N200 Powering off when I press either volume but

    Hello,
I'm having a problem with my MuVo N200 while listening to music tracks and radio. When
I press either the volume up or volume down button the device shuts itself off. I had been
using the device for a few weeks with no issues before this morining. I do have the old
firmware .0.02 and will upgrade to the latest when I get home tonight. However, I'd
like to know if anyone else had this issue and if they were able to get volume to work
    again.
    Thanks,
    Troy

Starting a couple days ago, I have the same problem. I bought the N200 less than week ago. It's running firmware ..0
The volume control no longer works. It's stuck at level 40 and the controls do not respond. After trying to press the volume controls a few times it shuts down. When restarted, it starts playing from the beginning of the play list order.
    Anyone have any ideas?

  • Odd hissing noise when inserting PCMCIA card

I'm testing a wireless broadband card (Sierra AC580), and I've encountered a very strange issue. When I insert the PCMCIA card into its slot, I get a loud hissing noise from the left speaker. I can reduce the volume of the noise by moving the card side to side, and sometimes I can transfer it from the left to the right speaker.
Is this some kind of interference issue between the speakers and the cell signal coming from the card? Has anyone else encountered this? The speaker volume has no effect on the volume of the sound. Neither does the mute button (F3).

I have the same sound - my MBP is only a week old as well... If you are not happy with it or are having further problems with it reading cd's or dvd'd then you should take it back to your local apple store.
I know of two other MBP users and they have the same thing... as said on other posts "not very pleasing to the ear"...

  • Hissing noise when using in-ear earphones

I decided to upgrade from the Apple standard earphones of the Shuffle to some noise isolating in-ear earphones. Since the top range stuff (Shure, Etymotic) didnt quite fit into my budget I bought a pair of Creative EP-630 ($30) since I read some decent reviews on Amazon.
Now the earphones do live up to my expectations and deliver some great sound but the combination with the Shuffle gives me quite a headache. Plugging the earphones into my computer or some other (low budget) mp3 players they sound awesome, there is no background noise whatsoever and between songs or when you hit 'Pause' there is silence as it is supposed to be.
When I plug them into my shuffle however, it is far from the 'chrystal clear sound' that I expected. First, when you turn on the Shuffle, you hear two high pitched feeps, when you turn it of, you get a short stakkato of feeps that reminds me of the dial in procedure of old computer modems for the anlogue telephone line.
The biggest problem is of course the noise during playback, there is a constant high pitched, hissing, feeping background noise which becomes especially obvious during quiet parts, between songs and even if you hit 'Pause'! The same thing is described at the following site for another pair of (high quality) in-ear earphones:
    http://forum.ecoustics.com/bbs/messages/15118/163354.html
The author there describes it as a 'grasshopper' noise, which is very much to the point when you hear it.
This is quite a disturbing result, considering all the raving reviews that Shuffle got for audio quality:
    http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,1777890,00.asp
Now I am wondering if there is a faulty batch of Shuffles out there of which I happen to own one, or is it possible that there is a general problem of the Shuffle working together with these kind of earphones? The Shuffle using other earphones sounds great and my new in-ear earphones using other players also sound great... just the combination delivers unbearable audio.
I would appreciate any feedback, especially if anybody from Apple happens to come across this post!

Sounds like unless I misunderstand that it's only a problem with non standard headphones. What others are you using?

  • Muvo N200 switching o

Hi, My Muvo n200 switches off when I scroll through my music folders. I have had the player for 3 days and it was ok at first.
Now when I switch it on, go to skip folder and scroll through the folders it just switches its self off.
It is not the battery. Also some times I switch on and light comes on , I get the CREATIVE logo followed by muvo n200 logo then it switches off .
Is there a fix for this problem or do I have a dud ?
I can scroll through the options menu ok.
    Thank you for any help.
    Mike

    Mike,
Try formatting it and loading the new firmware onto it. If it's still the same, you should contact Customer Support as there could be a problem with your player.

excuse for my not perfect english, i'm italian!

Oh, i have the same problem, my MuVo turns off. Now I'm really happy to hear that i can solve it! But there is another problem. A week ago I've had already brought it back to the store, in order it would be checked. And i'm still waitining for an answer what is really happened to my muvo. What should i do now? They (technical support) will be looking for the problem inside of my player, when i could solve this problem simply with the installing of ware. Help me! Schould i call them? Or the repair service should know about this ware and installs it without me?

  • Noise when using headphones with new Lumia 630

I've got a new Lumia 630 today and when I tried to use headphones with it at first phone did not recognize them ( I still have to reconnect them sometimes) but the main problem is a hiss noise when phone produces sounds. It could be music, video or keyboard clicks, whatever. I can hear it even when loudness of music player is set to 0. Is it known issue? Or is it problem with my phone? I tried another headphones and have the same problem, maybe a less noise.
Sorry for my English. Need your help!

    Hi wtfwithmyphone,
    Welcome to the forum!
Does it only happen when using the phone with headsets? Do you also hear this noise when the audio is played via loudspeaker? What are the models of the headsets that you tried with your Nokia Lumia 630?
Note that the Nokia Lumia 630 supports headsets that have American Headset Jack (AHJ) ports. Using other types of headsets may cause performance issues, like background noise and audio quality distortion. This link will show you some of the headset models supported by the Lumia 630: Accessories for Lumia 630 - Headsets.

  • Hissing noise

Hello having a problem with a hissing noise when I am on the phone for a long time.It only lasts for about 10 seconds and then clears and does not happen again that night ,it can also be heard by the third party.I have carried aout all the usual checks disconnection various bits of equipment etc and still the same. Also done a online line check and comes back no fault on line..Has anyone had the same problem many thanks.

It could also be a problem with internal wiring or a faulty ADSL line filter. I suggest you prove this before you report the fault.

  • Hissing noise on aux port

Is anyone having any issues with a loud hissing noise when listening to music in the car using the aux port and a 3.5mm jack cable. I have an iphone 4 and there is no problem but when i plug in my iphone4s i can barely hear the music unless both radio and phone are at full volume.

I have exactly the same problem.
I have an ipod touch = it works fine.
I had an ipod classic = it worked fine.
(I have even tried a dreaded android phone from samsung) = worked fine.
Now I have also tried two different iphone 4s = loud hissing.
I have also tried a latest generation ipod nano = hissing.
So I bought new cables for the car. An expensive shielded one.. = no change (lots of hissing)
The only other alternative suggestion I've found in the web is a aux-style jack connector to the iphone interface, which appears to work for most folks but then it won't be possible to charge my iphone and listen to music at the same time.
    Arghhh!

  • MuVo Micro N200 1GB Disturbing noise when backlight

I have a very disturbing noise when the backlight is lit on my MuVo Micro N200? Is this normal?

    Hi,
Very recently a noise, a very loud hissing sound is produced by my MuVo Micro N200 GB. I have this player since early in the beginning of the 4th quarter last year. Few weeks after a bought it, it will just flash "creative" and wont turn on. I returned it the vendor and they were able to fix it after 3 weeks. (Sorry for the long introduction)
Now after more than 6 mos. a very loud hissing sound is heard from it, you won't even hear the music, the recording is okay, the radio is okay only when you play MP3, you'll hear nothing but noise.
Sometimes when I turn it off and then on, it will disappear but then only after a few songs, it will start to hiss again. It's quite frustrating.
