Muvo N200 reformat didn't w

Hi,
I just bought the Muvo N200 and my computer froze in the middle of downloading songs. I had to disconnect, which froze my player. I followed the instructions on how to remormat the player to FAT, but this still didn't work. The player just turns on for a second and then shuts down. Is there any other way of reformatting the dri've to do a cold boot?
I have also tried to unistall all of my software and re-install and reformat the player at the same time, but the same problem continues. Any ideas?

I had the same problem with my muvo n200, but it stoped playing all of a sudden. I realized that it was playing only wma files and when it was trying to read an mp3 it turned off.
I have reinstalled the firmware provided by Creative on the site and all went well. I hope you solve your problems. Creative are good products, just some models have little problems

• MuVo N200 and Mac

Hi, hopefully someone can help me?!
I've recently got a MuVo N200. I'm having a bit of trouble adding songs to it though, and am wondering whether it's because I have a Mac instead of a PC. It does seem to work with iTunes, as I have managed to add some songs, but for some reason, it won't let me fill the memory. It gets so far, and then won't add anymore. It tells me 'there is not enough room on media module "built-in" to copy all of the requested files', and refuses to add anymore, yet the display shows that the memory is nowhere near full.
It was suggested to me that perhaps certain files were corrupt, as some songs could be added, while others not. However, after deleting all tracks and trying again (on several different occasions), songs which hadn't previously worked, did, while others which had, didn't. All very confusing.
If anybody knows of what I'm talking about, and might be able to tell me what the problem could be I'd be really grateful.
Thanks.

I am not a Mac user, but I had a similar problem when I first started transferring files to my MuVo N200. I was only able to store up to around 450 MB to 460 MB of music files out of 52 MB. When I used the customized "Explorer" program that Creative offers for Windows, the problem was resolved. Does the MuVo N200 include any Mac software? Anyways, hope someone can help you get around this.

• Muvo n200 - background noise, to l

hey hi
i bought muvo n200 and i had problem with voice recording because it was to quiet, so i decided to upgrade firmware, but after i have these problems:
. voice recording always to quiet
2. but music and radio plays to loud, at minimum volume is FM still so loud that i can't hear when somebody talks to me
3. thare is the backgroud noise, when the backlit is on, after i updated, before it wasn't
help please, otherwise i kill the player

no exact procedure, i was just trying with a bad feeling that something bad (with the player) will happen
i downgraded from .20.04 (latest), don't know what was the original version in the player, battery was in,
i've tried to run the .2.0 in normal mode and it did some errors (as expected), nothing happend
than i've tried it in recovery mode (i had problems to connect it - some drivers problem i suppose), but i did it, than i ran the .2 firmware and was trying to start(the firmware upgrade) it but i got some error or something, i tried all the buttons there, i think i wanted to format the stuff - it didn't work, and finally i ran again the start and curiously it started to upgrade - as u can see no exact process - realy don't remember how, i was only trying and suppose the firmware too (many creative bugs), (maybe it installed some drivers between i pushed the same button later)
but i remeber after i disconected the player there was still the usb connection logo on the player display, so i needed to reset it (removing battery), (and was hoping i didn't destroy it), and than power on and the excitement moment and .... it worked (luck?)
maybe i'll write a creative novel :-|

• MuVo N200 problem with playba

I have an older MuVo N200. I have transferred some of my class notes to it and it had done just fine so I transferred some musice to it as well. It played back very well for about 2 days and now it is just a high pitch squelling:angry:. I have lost some of the songs that my daughter has sung because it has garbled and destroyed them ? Any way I would just like to know what is going on. I have deleted the music and?transferred it again and it works just like it is supposed to and the play back will be fine the first time around then... sounds that remind me of really, really bad radio station static. Any ideas? Help is appreciated.

I suggest reloading the firmware. This will also reformat the player, so everything stored on the player will be lost. Make sure you have copies on your pc first. Search the forum for detailed instructions about how to reload the firmware.

• Muvo N200 random shutd

Hi all.
i bought myself a great new muvo n200 last week.
it was great till yesterday. i was walking to take the bus and my headphones fell off and when i put em back on, there was no music playing. so i checked and it was off... so i turned it back on and the radio started (i was listening to mp3s.) so anyways, it was allright for a few more hours and then today, it didnt turn on (just saw the intro screen)
so i got on the bus again and i played with it in the afternooon... it kept shutting down.
it's not a battery problem cuz i had 6 diffrent batteries in there to test it.
i did the format and that just allows me to open it. but i cant select anything in the menu cuz that just kicks me out.
now is there a way to fix this? i mean i can't even get to the menu half the time.
is this just a manifacture defect or something that i coulda did?
if anyone has info, plz let me know before 5pm tomorrow cuz i'm about to return it!!!

Ok my MuVo n200 (52) doesn't shutdown, sorta, if I push the scroll wheel to access the menu options the screen clears but the music continues to play, i can turn the volume up and down, but there are no graphics. When it's in this "mode " I am unable to turn it off. I can take the battery out and and turn it back on and the music starts, and then the whole process repeats itself If I try to access the menu again.
I'm guessing you'll say to reformat, and firmware update.
Also I only have one folder, i recently deleted my other folders on the n200 and I'm wondering if that might be an issue as well.
Thanks for your help,
Victimiza

• All MuVo n200 users should read this!!! really wo

Hi i?m pepe, and few days ago i wrote for help, i was having problems with my muvo n200 when i wanted to listen mp3 file it played then with a scratch sound in the background.
Finally after reading, and reading, and more reading found this advise from a genius person who must work for creative, and i really mean it cause the gays from "support" treat my problem as a child?s stuff, "is the battery working" "is your player pluged correctly" dammn it.
So every one having problems with MuVo N200 shoud go to this page.
http://forums.creative.com/creativelabs/board/message?board.id=dap&message.id=23264
I?m going to copy and paste it so you can read.
Hi. After I dont know how many hours I finally got mine to work. I hope this helps you, although I am not sure if it will. I am not exactly sure why it worked, or how ( maybe just a whole lotta hoping!)
Anyway....So I did a bunch of stuff a billion times. But here Is what I did most Recently to get it to work: ) Delete any old Creative files related to your player. 2) Reinstall the CD 3) Download Firmware upgrade .20.04 to your Desktop. 4) Download Mass Storage Driver .07.00.250 to your desktop. 5) Try to put it into recovery mode like you have probably done before by taking out the batter and holding play while you plug it in. 6) Instead of waiting for a "find new hardware" dialog box, i double clicked to open the new firmware file I had downloaded. This searched for my player and found it. 7) A box will pop up to upgrade your firmware. MAKE SURE TO SELECT THAT BOX THAT SAYS "FORMAT DATA AREA" before your start. ( I think this is where all my problems came from.) This worked for me and that was all I had to do. I didnt actually do anything with the Storage Driver download except put it on my desktop before i plugged my player.
After multiple correspondences with some not-so-bright support people, they did say if the recover mode wouldnt go or i couldnt get anything to work that I would have to send it back in for "Return Merchandise Authroization." If your contacting them, dont hold your breath too long....it takes a very long time for a response.
Hope this helps you!

Thank AB84, thank you very much
Cya around

Yeah, I don't know why he didn't link to the original thread, where you can see all of AB84's posts and another post (from me) that gives an alternati've for reinstalling the CD. Here's the link:
http://forums.creative.com/creativel...ssage.id=23264
He's right, though, to advertise to N200 owners with a shouting title (we should bump this occasionally), as Creative just won't put this in their instructions, yet there seem to be plenty of us N200 users that get stuck where our computer can't recognize it in recovery mode.

• Muvo n200-not find by

hello
I got a big problem with my muvo N200. When I connect it through usb to pc it's not recognized.the picture which shows that player is connected to pc is not appearing. I can't upgrade the firmware and do anything with usb. I tried this on other pc's and different usb cables....where's the problem?

Try this:?http://forums.creative.com/creativel...ssage.id=23264?Read posts 3 and 4. Several N200 owners have gotten satisfaction from this, e.g.,?http://forums.creative.com/creativel...d=00348#M62247?I occasionally come back here to check on N200 failures, because Creative just won't put this in their FAQ, I guess they feel they have to see it work for themselves. Even the uber-posters won't acknowledge this fix discovered by AB84. Hope it works for you, as it has for several of us.

• MuVo N200 Screen Too Small To Re

Hi,
I just bought the MuVo N200 (52MB using Win XPHome) and trying to figure it out. Now that I got the software up (w latest the firmware installed), I'm challenged by the tiny screen area.
Dunno if I'll rue this purchase therefore!
Getting out by sunlight or holding it under a bright light helps (The backlight goes off before I've begun to make things out). A magnifying glass helps a bit too.
How have others of you managed with this (I can't be the only one!)
Thanks
Chet

I would like a larger display, although that would probably mean that player needs to be larger. That would be okay though, since I also want the player to use a AA battery and have an AM and FM tuner. Having models with 52 meg, gig, and 2 gigs to start(with higher capacity models coming later as flash memory prices drop). I would also like to see a deluxe model with a much higher quality mic(so students can adequately record lectures given in large lecture halls, or businessmen could record meetings) and a high quality line in(then the mic and line in could be omitted on the standard model).

• I really need help with my creative MuVo N200 mp3 pla

i got my MuVo N200 mp3 player for chirtmas of last year, and it stopped working in 3 months. it used to shut off every few minutes and the mic doesnt work any more and i cant record music from the radio. right now it doesnt even work for a minute, it shuts off as soon as i try and turn it on. i emailed creative when it first started happening and they sent me a email saying what to do on there website, something about downloading something. i tryed it and it didnt work, im not sure if i didnt do it right. And right now i have no idea what to do. and creative won't help me unless i pay them money to fix it for me which im not about to do. has anyone have the same problem with the MuVo N200 mp3 player? what am i suppose to do to fix it's I still have there email telling me what to do, but i just dont get how to do it and if it will work. It only worked for me 3 months, and now im mad and thinking about buying a new one thats not from creative but i really want to try fixing it again to see if it will work. please help me.

Good question, unfortunately I have absolutely no idea. Reflashing/-formatting generally takes care of the usual cases of wonkyness this player develops, and there isn't anything more drastic you as a user could do.
Do you have a directory named "Recorded Tracks" on your player? Should be created automatically, but if it isn't you could try creating it manually...

• PLEASE HELP MUVO N200 ERROR EVERY TIME I TRY AND DOWNLOAD A SONG

hi every time i try and download a song it says error. i put it into recovery mode and it fixes it but i have to unload all the songs off and then start again but the same thing happens again and sometimes i don't even know if my player goes into recovery mode because my computer doesn't detect it. is there anything i can do about the error every time i try an ddownload a song? please help i am relly frustrated!!

"Download" as in from LimeWire or some such program? Or loading your player with songs.
If it's from LimeWire, the song file is probably corrupted.
If it's loading your player with songs, either you haven't installed the player's corresponding driver correctly, or something's happened to corrupt your firmware.
Try downloading the firmware from Creative and re-loading it onto your player. Very easy to do.
If that doesn't fix anything, try uninstalling and then re-installing the Creative MuVo N200 driver onto your computer. Get somebody that really knows what they're doing to help you.

• Muvo N200 FM Radio - no stereo so

I have a Muvo N200 52GB with latest firmware (.2.0).
The only problem I have with it is that the FM Radio sound output is mono even if the display indicates stereo reception.
I can achieve stereo sound if I pull out the headphone jack a little way but the connection is not secure if I do this and I don't have to do this to listen to WMA/MP3 music.
This could be down to firmware but I have only seen one other post with this problem.
I will try to reflash just in case but would appreciate any other suggestions.
In my opinion, even if FM reception is mono, sound output should still be directed to both right and left channels and not just one (left channel in my case).

Obviously the player is faulty as even if it's in mono you will get output from both channel. You can try reinstalling the firmware on the player and see if that helps just in case. If not, you should return to creative and get it repair.

• MuVo N200 Ease of U

I am considering the purchase of either the MuVo N200 or TX FM (52MB). I have a portable CD player I use at the gym but have never used a flash memory player.
. How easy is it to switch between stored music and the preset FM tuner?
2. Can toggling between encoded music and FM be done while on a treadmill?
3. Compare the sound quality of MP3 music (28kbs), FM tuner, and portable CD player?
Any insight you have would be helpfull.

i like all of the muvos, because they are so simple. Before you work out, just go into music mode then into FM mode. After that, all you need to do is press the toggle wheel in twice (you don't even need to look at the screen).
That might not be the exact procedure, but it's something like that

• Muvo N200 - What is it called

Was going to update my MUVO N200 on the firmware, and am unable to find it. I see that Creative renamed everything (lovely), so I can't find my player on that list of drivers anymore. Anyone know what they renamed it to?
And why do they pull this kind of stuff? Really, it just makes it more confusing for me as a consumer to figure out what I need.

On the downloads page it may be called the MuVo Micro - it's full title is MuVo Micro N200 but that seems to get shortened to either MuVo Micro or N200 depending on which region you are in.
It has been superceded by the Zen Nano Plus but don't use any downloads specifically for that player.
