Muvo N200 - Searching Through BIG MP3 fi

A positi've note in a sea of grumblings !
I have copied a 4 hour MP3 file onto the Muvo N200 and it took just over 30 seconds to search through to get to hour in. I am pretty impressed by this. It seems to handle big MP3s no problem too - this one is encoded at 92 KBPS and is 330Mb in size.

Out of interest, do you get any visual indication of where you are in the file?

  • MuVo N200: WAV plays fine, MP3 gives corrupted so

    Hi,
My MuVo N200 plays WAV files fine, MP3 files play, but give corrupted sound. The following other remarks can be made:
    - FM radio plays fine
    - recorded FM radio or microphone play both ok (both WAV files)
    - if I connect the N200 to my PC and I double click an MP3 file under Removable Disk, the sound is absolutely ok, so the MP3 files itself are not corrupted!
    Anybody any idea?
    Thanks,
    Ton

    Ton,
Can you rip some new tracks from a CD to the player, and see if they have the same problem?

  • I really need help with my creative MuVo N200 mp3 pla

i got my MuVo N200 mp3 player for chirtmas of last year, and it stopped working in 3 months. it used to shut off every few minutes and the mic doesnt work any more and i cant record music from the radio. right now it doesnt even work for a minute, it shuts off as soon as i try and turn it on. i emailed creative when it first started happening and they sent me a email saying what to do on there website, something about downloading something. i tryed it and it didnt work, im not sure if i didnt do it right. And right now i have no idea what to do. and creative won't help me unless i pay them money to fix it for me which im not about to do. has anyone have the same problem with the MuVo N200 mp3 player? what am i suppose to do to fix it's I still have there email telling me what to do, but i just dont get how to do it and if it will work. It only worked for me 3 months, and now im mad and thinking about buying a new one thats not from creative but i really want to try fixing it again to see if it will work. please help me.

Good question, unfortunately I have absolutely no idea. Reflashing/-formatting generally takes care of the usual cases of wonkyness this player develops, and there isn't anything more drastic you as a user could do.
Do you have a directory named "Recorded Tracks" on your player? Should be created automatically, but if it isn't you could try creating it manually...

  • MP3 MuVo N200 direct encod

I just bought a MuVo N200 today. One of the reason that I got it was that it has the direct recording/encoding function.
However, I have tried with various stereo sets at home, my hi-fi to DVD/CD players, it seems that either the recording was not good or I cannot put the plug into the socket (line out - from Hi-Fi stereo).
Can any one help me on this? Or is the direct recording good fot small discman or walkman?
    This is what I did:
hi-fi stereo - Line out (typically 2) Left or Right. I plugged into Right. I tried and the recording was okay. But when I listen, only side of my ear piece has the music.
    Please advise and thank u!

    Hey guys, wake up!
Maybe there is a reason to use the line in for direct encoding, such as record li've-recordings from radio, TV, rehersal-rooms or copy old Vinyl-LP or other....
Line out from the stereo should be ok, but if the volume is too low, you may want to try the Tape-out on your amplifier. And you should use a Steres-phono to Stereo mini-jack cable. If you only record to one side, it could be the Cable, the Amplifier line out or the mp3 line which is broken in one side.Message Edited by oelund on 04-04-2005 0:9 PM

  • Muvo n200-not find by

    hello
I got a big problem with my muvo N200. When I connect it through usb to pc it's not recognized.the picture which shows that player is connected to pc is not appearing. I can't upgrade the firmware and do anything with usb. I tried this on other pc's and different usb cables....where's the problem?

Try this:?http://forums.creative.com/creativel...ssage.id=23264?Read posts 3 and 4. Several N200 owners have gotten satisfaction from this, e.g.,?http://forums.creative.com/creativel...d=00348#M62247?I occasionally come back here to check on N200 failures, because Creative just won't put this in their FAQ, I guess they feel they have to see it work for themselves. Even the uber-posters won't acknowledge this fix discovered by AB84. Hope it works for you, as it has for several of us.

  • Muvo N200 - Car Ste

I have a muvo n200 and am wondering the options, if any, to listen to my mp3s through my car stereo. What will i need, where can i buy it, how much will it cost? Any and all help is appreciated!
Thanks in advanceMessage Edited by HBNelson on 05-08-2005 04:3 PM

If there is an input jack, a cable might only be around $8. A cassette adapter is probably around $5-20. An FM transmitter might be $30 and up. In terms of sound quality the cable is best, then the cassette adapter, then an FM transmitter.Message Edited by JK23 on 05-08-2005 08:40 PM

    PB
AB84 discovered a trick that he shared in this thread. It's for really sick N200s, and I wish it could be stickied, because some N200s won't accept firmware using Creative's instructions. Essentially, his two tricks are to
) reinstall the driver, which PB has stated above, and which can be done by just double-clicking, as that will result in a dialogue where it tells you it already has that driver, and asks if you want to overwrite it--you want to overwrite it, and
    2) Instead of waiting for a "find new hardware" dialog box, he double-clicked to open the new firmware file. This resulted in a search for the player and two popup dialogue boxes, one that said something like "Media not initialized", to which you acknowledge by hitting the OK button, and a second that asks to upgrade your firmware. MAKE SURE TO SELECT THE BOX THAT SAYS "FORMAT DATA AREA", then OK.
Sorry, my two years of French were too long ago to be useful now.

  • MuVo N200 vs. Zen Nano P

Hello everyone. Kindly tell me the differences between the MuVo N200 and the Zen Nano Plus 52MM MP3 players? Which one should I buy and why? Thanks!
    Leonard

    My ZNPlus is Black.
I have only seen black in the store I buy from.
The Zen Nano Plus is MUCH less buggy for me. It does not misbehave as much as my white N200.
ALTHOUGH, a new firmware load would fix everything every time. I just got tired of dinking with it.
The software is different for the ZNP. DO NOT put 200 upgrades on Zen Nano Plus even if Creative tells you to. Call back in and get another support person. They may have it straightned out internally now.
It came from the factory good for Audible with no need to update.
I will think seriously before I put new upgrades on it as it is working perfectly now.
I have version .00.02 on mine now and it has no issues so far and I use it HEAVILY.
I would not get the N200 if it were me.
Do a search on this forum also and you can get other opinions as well....
Good luck. IMHO it is the only creative product I will buy again.

  • MuVo N200 - problem loading mu

I've been spending the last hour or so trying to put new songs onto my MuVo N200 (GB), and after a while this error message started showing up when I tried to put a new song on.
    <IMG src="http://pictures.greatestjournal.com/userimg/5537928/65009">
I have 2 MB left on my player, and the file is less than 5 MB.
Any help is very much appreciated.

Sorry, thought I had gone through all of them. I'll try doing a more thourough search next time.
I did find the answer to why I couldn't load any more music onto my player, and it was the same reason I couldn't record anything.
Thanks for making me double-check. :robothappy:

  • Muvo n200 brow

I just got the muvo n200. I notice that the full manual isn't yet available on the creative website. Anyone know when it will be? Also, I'm wondering if the unit has a browse mode - where I can scroll through songs on the player without advancing to them. Right now I only seem to be able to scroll from song to song.
    Thanks
    Heather

I am using the latest firmware .2.0 , mostly .WMA's with close to 500 songs on my GB n200.
I have been very satisfied with this player, however my gripes are still (people make too big of a deal out of the back light noise!!):
    - Inconsistent folder playback i.e. When using shuffle modes, many folders get skipped out or are rarely ever played. Its very annoying. When using a "shuffle" feature, one expects to be able to listen to a multitude of songs, rather then songs from only a few folders.
    - No way of browsing songs without advancing to the next song, very annoying considering I have around 500 songs.

  • Muvo N200 support playlis

I am seriously considering purchasing a muvo n200 GB, however I would like to know if there is anyway to organize the songs e.g through playlists , or is it just one big space to dump all your songs, and you'd have to scroll through every song just to find one that you want to hear.
thank you for reading my post, any input is greatly appreciated.

There seems to be some confusion on this topic. Hopefully this post will help clear the matter up.
I just bought the MuVo n200 and I really like it (256mb model). I had the same question you did about playlists. You can create playlists on your computer with the software provided but the player itself does not support playlists. The player does support the use of folders, so essentially you can accomplish the same task as a playlist by creating folders and storing them on your player. Once the folders have been stored on your player, you simply skip to the folder you want to listen to. When a folder is transferred to the player the songs in the folder will be arranged alphabetically. I have not figured a way around this but it is no big deal if you keep your folders reasonably small.
Also I have noticed that you cannot put a folder in a folder (like you can in Windows directories). You can do this on the computer with the software provide but you cannot transfer the embedded folders. For example, if you create a folder named Rock and put several folders in that folder named Boston, REM, Dire Straits, etc and then transfer this data to your player, the player will not recognized the folder. All this means is that if you create a folder you must put songs in it, not other folders. Again, no big deal as long as you know this.
I like this product. The only shortcoming I have seen is the documentation is lacking. This is somewhat made up for by the quick and accurate response I got from Tech Support though. They got back to me in about 5 minutes. I have pasted the response from Tech Support below.
Thank You for being Creative Customer.
For using the muvo micro to store playlists, I'm afraid this is not
supported by the player. It can store folders instead.
Thus in place of playlists, you may wish to create folders at the ROOT
directory and store the files you want, into each folder instead.
And to playback the songs in a particular folder, you may skip to that
    folder directly.
I apologise for any inconveniences caused to you.
We look forward to serving you again.
