MuVo Nomad(?) probl

Hello, I own a MuVo Nomad(?) 28MB MP3 player. Alot like this one --> http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00006JHWQ/ref=nosim/02-0996-384052?n=72282
The problem I am having is that when I put a *fresh* battery into it, it does not turn on. And what worse is that even when I plugged it into 3 OTHER computers, it wasn't recognized AT ALL. This just happened one day and it upsets me. It was never dropped or otherwise molested. I am running XP and I'm sure all 3 other computers were too. I bought this player from a friend, so I don't have any warranty. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Not sure what the battery has to do with it. The Nomad has to be detached from the battery case to be able to plug into the computer.
Gi'ven that nothing else has worked I will give it another shot.
Well, that did not work either. The update failed on the same error.
Rant:
The Zen Nano I got yesterday to replace this is hosed up. Lasted 45 minutes in the gym last night. It just automatically shut off. Now whenever I connect it to the computer it automatically comes up as a player recovery device. Tried the firmware update and reformatting the dri've. Then it just went into an endless reboot cycle. CL tech support said to return it. Back to the store for a new one.
My little Nomad lasted for years without so much as a flinch. It has been through hundreds of hours in the gym, several trips into the operating room and recovery, and countless hours of fishing on the ri'ver. It has been dropped and had a baby slobber on it. It always worked perfectly without question. My Nomad was nearly indestructable until it met a kid with a magnet. What happened to the quality of these devices?
That Zen Nano was made in China and could not make it through a single workout. The Nomad was assembled in Korea and lasted for years. I really wonder if that has something to do with it's
Oh well time to get off my rant and dri've back to the store.

  • HELP...MUVO TX PROBL

    PLEASE HELP ME!!!
I have had my muvo tx 28mb for not that long and now when I turn it on it says "FILE SYSTEM ERROR". What do I do?!?!?!
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    thanks,

    Joe,
You can either try formatting the player using Windows Format and format it to FAT and not FAT32. Or you can download the firmware update application from the download page here and use that to format the player. Be sure to read the 'Show Details' section for the proper steps to run the firmware application if you are going to use that.

  • Muvo slim probl

I've had my Muvo Slim 256mb MP3 player for 3 months now, and all of a sudden i realized that it wasnt recognized by my computer(XP)
I have tried reinstalling it again and again, i have also tried to change the letter dri've of the device to fix it but it doesnt show.
    -the connection is secure
-all of the USB ports are working
-the player works on my other computer(windows 2000) but that computer is a piece of crap, and doesnt have any of my files.
-"there are no drivers installed for this device" appears in the device manager properties
-my computer is a fairly new, with Windows XP on it.

    iwantanimac,
You are being so exaggerated about 0000 post regarding this player. Anyway back to your problem. Check in device manager when the player is connected and see if it's properly identify with no error under USB controller. If there's no problem shown in device manager then probably you will need to reassign a driver letter to the player. You can see the steps here to reassign the dri've letter.

  • MuVo Memory Probl

I just bought a MuVo TX GB player. I have downloaded approximately 67 songs at this point (MP3) format. My player is now saying that it is full (or really that there is only .9MB of memory left). I have no idea why this is happening. I thought I was supposed to be able to get at least 500 songs on it. I don't know what I have done wrong or how I can resolve this problem. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

I did this and it didn't change anything. I still only have about 500 MB of memory. I made a new folder...copied and pasted files into it, and then deleted the old files. Is this what I was supposed to do? I did look at the post you referred me to but didn't completely understand it.
Delete all of the files from the player. What amount of freespace does it show now?
If it is not approx. GB then you have a problem. Reloading the firmware might sort it out.
If it is about GB, create a folder first and then put your music files into the folder.

  • MuVo V100 Probl

Is anyone else experiencing problems during playback of songs? The player plays for 30 seconds then skips to the next song. Also, has anyone figured out how to fill this thing to capacity with music, then actually access all that music?I gave 4 of these as gifts this Christmas and everyone is having these problems.

Create a few folders on the player using Windows Explorer(right click on start, click on explore) then transfer the songs into the folders. Read the instruction manual that is on the CD that came with ypur player. It would be a good idea to copy the manual to the desktop of your pc so it will be easy to reference.

  • Creative Muvo N200 probl

Every time i go to download the firmware it says that it can't download unless the player is in recovery mode and there is no way to put it in recovery mode. what do i do.

No way to put it in recovery mode? Install the driver on your pc. Remove the battery from the player. Hold down the power button while connecting the the player to the pc.

  • MuVo N200 probl

i don't know if this has been posted but i need help! when i put about 0 songs on my player it either won't turn on, or it won't play the songs. sometimes when i turn it on it says something about an unfixable error. i have already exchanged my last one because it would not turn off unless i went to the tuner and turned it off and i tried holding it down for longer.

Delete the songs in the player. Now put the songs in files (preferably under 32 songs per file), then transfer the files to the player.

  • Please Help me....with my Creative Nomad MuVo 64mb.

:womansad:I am so new to this stuff. I have a very good friend that just gave me this Creative Nomad MuVo 64mb. The Problem is that I have no installation CD with it. So, I don't know what to download. I know abosolutely nothing about these things. I am just an old lady wanting to listen to music.
    an someone help me out
    God Bless You,
    DaisySunshine:womansad:

Your MuVo can probably work without installing anything. Just plug it into a USB port and your computer should recognize it.
This page has downloadable manuals for the MuVo Nomad.
This page has downloadable software if your MuVo needs it.
You can add music by 'drag and dropping' the music that you have in using WIndows Explorer (Press the Windows Key and the E key to start Windows Explorer)
Navigate to where your music is stored (you may need to rip your CDs into .mp3s if you don't have any .mp3s on your computer first), highlight the songs you want to transfer by clicking them with your left mouse button and 'drag' them over to your MuVo by keeping the left mouse button held down. Release the mouse button and the .mp3s will be copied to the MuVo.
I hope that helps, feel free to ask more questions if I didn't explain something clearly enough.

  • What is the technical reason for lack of Audible support on Zen Micro and othe

This is addressed to the any Creative developer who reads this. I am a developer and find it hard to understand why a relati'vely brain-dead product like a 28 Meg Muvo Nomad can support Audible but the more powerful Zen Micro's cannot.
Can someone give us the technical reason for this?

I dont think there is a technical reason behind it. A simple firmware update should be able to support Audible, OGG, and the rest of formats that the player does not support.

  • Disk unreada

    hey all,
i did check to see if this has been covered, but couldn't find it...basically i forgot to properly eject my (well, my cousin's!) Mp3 before pulling it out of the usb port and now it won't work. Does anyone know if this would solely affect this particular mp3 or all mp3s with my computer, and will the player still work on other computers? also does anyone have a specific link i could go to to work out how to fix it's i've got a muvo nomad and my os is mac os x
    Cheers
    Kyles

    Kyles,
What I can suggest to you now is try and find a Windows OS computer and then download the firmware application from the download section. Use the firmware you have downloaded and update the player. Hopefully it can resolve your problem.
