Muvo NX 256 no longer recognised by Windows and no recovery m

My Muvo NX 256 (firmware .0..07) has been working fine for months, until it intermittently failed to appear as a dri've when plugging it into a PC. Now, it always fails to connect. I've tried on different Windows XP PCs, so it's not a USB port issue. The player works fine standalone, but I cannot transfer any tracks to it.
I've tried to access recovery mode to use the "connect to PC" functionality, with no success:
- holding "menu" while inserting the battery does not do anything
- holding "play" while inserting the player in a USB port simply starts the player, and it still doesn't appear under Windows
Any advice?
Thanks

If recovery mode doesn't work then the player is faulty unfortunately. If you're still under warranty, contact Creative Support (although you can still contact them for an out of warranty repair).

  • My iMac is no longer recognising my windows 7 install disk.

My 27in iMac is failing to recognise the windows install disk as I try and install it in a virtual machine using VMware fusion 3. It has managed this before, and I had been running it successfully for over a year but (as is often the way with windows) a clean install was needed. The iMac is still running snow leopard ( as before) it and fusion are patched up to date. Nothing different than before. I've even tried a different windows 7 disk and the iMac simply ejects it with no message. It does manage to recognise every other disk it insert. No messages given. Any clues out there.

appears that apple has changed SMB code, and now its not possible login from windows on mac.
i installed snow leopard and now works fine.
apple is capable to make it run paying new license of smb code, but isnted of this, apple has created new protocol smbx and now, all others need to adapt your code to apple..
bad movement.. i am thinking sell imac and no back to apple anymore..

  • My upgrade to iphone software seemed to work but restore failed (1602)- now phone no longer recognised by itunes and itunes only offers restore to factory settings and warns that this will remove all data- also phone is in restore mode- unusable

so I did the  itunes upgrade to 10.5.1 and then teh iphone 4 needed to b e upgraded to new ios5.1 - seemed to go all the way through, and the final restore seemed to fail. Now the phone is no longer recognised as personalised, just as iphone. Also  i cannot restore from backup, only restore factory settings and i am warned that I will lose all data. Can I force a restore from back up?  can I guaruntee that I can keep data from backups??

  • Windows and system recovery won't launch

I have HP Pavilion dv7-2015TX. It is running Windows Vista when it used to work. It stopped loading windows and initially offered me the recovery mode or starting windows normally. When I  chose the recovery mode it kept asking me to find the operating software to repair which it couldn't find. Now I'm not even being offered that option. Hitting esc on startup brings me to the startup menu. I've run System Diagnostics and done a start-up test where it came up with no errors, stating startup test passed. The Error log comes up with 0305 @ Time 07132013-185631; 0601 @ time 06082013-080914; 0601 @ time 06062013-183504; and 0305 @ time 11152012-033540.
Choosing the system recovery option just makes it start to try and load windows and I end up back with a blue screen and an arrow.
If I just let the system continue its boot without hitting the esc key and going to the startup menu, then it starts to load windows but eventually also ends up on the blue screen with the white arrow.
I have made a set of recovery discs but can't get the system to load from them either. Repeatedly hitting F11 on startup doesn't stop the system from trying to load windows and then the blue screen. Hitting F9 just gets me to a black screen with a line of incomprehensible characters.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

I really suspect that your hard drive is bad and will have to be replaced. Not sure though if this would also be causing the problem of booting from Recovery Disks. Can you boot from any other disk?
Get a utility cd such as PW. It will  allow you to test hard drive, format it if possible.Scroll down on the page and get> Bootable CD ISO and> ImgBurn to burn the iso image to cd-a guide on using ImgBurn to write an ISO to a disc is Here. Once created, boot from it. Delete any hdd partitions, create one and format.

  • IPod no longer recognised on windows in disk mode

When I first got my 3th gen ipod I had a pc. Everything was fine. Then at the beginning of last year I converted to mac
I'm currently studying and last year I used it as a storage for all my work and it was configured to my mac but the disk use quite happily went between both my mac at home and the PC at TAFE. Recently I bought songs of itunes and although I had the latest update it would say I needed the update to put them on the ipod. So I did a system restore to see if this would resolve the problem.
It resolved the problem of those songs playing my ipod, but now anytime I connect it to a pc it wont open it up, just asks to format it. And if I do so, I can't connect it to my itunes(and my music) on my mac.
I came to support to find out how to fix it, but apparently you can't do what I've been doing for a whole year. I really need disk storage which goes between both platforms. Can anyone help me or do I have to buy a flash drive
    G5   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

"It resolved the problem of those songs playing my ipod, but now anytime I connect it to a pc it wont open it up, just asks to format it."
That's because Windows cannot read Mac formatted iPods.
Probably the easiest way to use an iPod on both Mac and Windows computers is to format the iPod (using iPod Updater) using the PC. This will force your iPod to use the Windows file system (FAT32) which both the Mac and PC can read from and write to without the help of additional software. Of course then all your software updates for the iPod will have to be done on Windows.

If you need to use a Mac (HFS+) formatted iPod on a Windows PC, you'll need to install some 3rd party software such as XPlay 2.0 (which you can get from MediaFour Software). This will enable your Windows PC to read a Mac-formatted iPod.

  • IPhone 4 with ios 5 no longer recognised in windows explorer

Just updated my iPhone 4 to ios5 last night. Since then I can't see my phone under windows explorer. It shows up fine in iTunes. So now I can't manage my pictures and videos.
I've tried it on 2 different windows machines, both XP.
    Help please!

Just to double check here, are there photos in the Camera Roll? The only time the iPhone will show up in Windows Explorer is if there is content in the Camera Roll. If there is no content there it will not show up since there is no other file management that you can do from there. If there is content, try and reset the phone, will not do anything to data, by holding down the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. See if that helps.

  • MSI Twin Forzer GTX 760 no longer recognised in Windows or showing in BIOS

This evening when I switched on my PC, I got no signal to my monitor.
    * I checked all the connections from my DVI -> VGA connector
    * I Tried with an HDMI cable
Both would no produce a signal.  I then checked in the BIOS (MSI z87-g65) and the PCIe 16x slot it was in is showing as empty.  So I took it out and switched slots and it's still showing as empty.
It is getting power as far as I can see, the fans start up - and I've checked the PCIe power connections.
The card is < 1 year old - has anyone experienced anything similar that I can fix, or is the card RMA?

    >>Clear CMOS<< of the board and retry. If possible try card in another machine.
While I originally hadn't tried this, I do have multi-bios and switched to the second one - still had the same problem.  I have tried this now, still the same issue.
Here is screenshots showing it in place, you may be able to see fans are working - and screenshot of the BIOS board explorer showing empty slot: h ttp://imgur.com/qgWTyp1,2garjoU

  • HT1925 My computer no longer recognises my iphone and can't be seen on itunes. My ipod works perfectly on the same computer. rebooting my iphone and PC does not fix the problem.

When I connect my iPhone to my PC it is not recognised and iTunes does not open. When I connect my iPod to the same PC everything works perfectly. I conclude that the problem is not on the PC or with iTunes. Switching off and rebooting the iPhone and the PC does not fix the problem. Any suggestions??

  • Windows's Restoration wizard is no longer recognising the WindowsImageBackup, when moved from one external HD into another one.

    Hi,
I created WindowsImageBackup a three-month period ago and saved it on an external hard disk. Then, I have moved/cut this WindowsImageBackup from the  external hard disk was first saved on while created   into a subfolder
on another different external hard disk. Whenever now clicked 'advanced recovery methods', then chose use ' a system image'. However, when I booted into Windows environment, I didn't see that the external drive containing image wasn't listed, although I have
clicked on 'refresh' while external drive is plugged. When clicked on the 'advance' button, then click 'located driver if the drive isn't listed' link, I could naviaged into the external hard disk, which means it is recognised by Windows and it doesn't need
    a driver.
NOTE: the image is for the same OS installed on my computer.
I really want to keep many full different Windows Image Backups, then when create  Windows Image Backup, I moved it into subfolder in order the next new don't delete the older one.
I was expecting that this is because while external HD containing image is plugged in the USB3 port, however, when I let it plugged in the USB2 port, the drive wasn't listed in the list
A man should convert his anger and sadness into strength to continue living in this life.

    Thanks a lot,
NOTE: system image Disc containing(old images, WindowsImageBackup1,2,3, and so on) wasn't listed/found, and not the Restoration  failed
Let me give you this scenario:
I have created a Windows image backup for OS partition(C) and Data partition(D). Second: I have saved the created image into an external hard disk
Third: When the WindowImageBackup created in the external hard disk. I tried booting into Windows environment, and the wizard found the image automatically.
Froth: I have moved the 'WidnowsImageBackup' from a partition on an external hard disk (A) into another external hard disk(B)
Fifth: I have done some changes on the OS system(such as installing programs and so on) and data partition(such as adding data and so on)
Fifty: I have decided to create a new WindowsImageBackup and save it into external disk 'B', but before that I have done, I must rename 'WidnowsImageBackup by  incrementing '1' after 'WidnowsImageBackup' in order ton not be overwritten.
Sixth: I created the new 'WindowsImageBackup'
The WindowsImageBackup  just created is recognised by Windows's resoration wizard because it wasn't moved. However, windowsImageBAckup1 isn't recognised because it wasn't saved here, however, it was pasted here from another location.
I would like to save many full images:
    WindowsImagBackup
    windowsImageBackup1
    -------------------------2
    -------------------------3
    and so on.
However, as I said before, when booting into Windows's restoration wizard, then clicked on 'selcte an image', I didn't find any option to search for the image.
Yes, there is an option saying 'if you don't see your 'system image disc' listed in the image location, then you can pluge your disc and click on refresh. I have done but only the 'WindowsImagBackup' created on the same external disc was
found. Even those images created in same external disc, but their main folder 'WindowsImageBackup' changed into 'WindowsImageBackup1, 2, 3 and so one were not found'
If someone wants to save many full WindowsImageBackups, then how can he be doing?
NOTE: Although I have read in the Windows help support what is below, I when I have copied the older system images into another locations, they became unrecognised/found in the restoration Wizard:
Keeping different versions of system images
If you're saving your system images on an internal or external
drive, or on CDs or DVDs, you can keep several versions of system images. On
internal and external hard drives, older system images will be deleted when the
drive runs out of space. To help conserve disk space, you can manually delete
older system images. For more information, see What backup
settings should I use to maximize my disk space?
If you're saving your system images in a network location, you can
only keep the most current system image for each computer. System images are
saved in the format of drive\WindowsImageBackup\computer
name\. If you have an existing system image for a computer and are
creating a new one for the same computer, the new system image will overwrite
the existing one. If you want to keep the existing system image, you can copy it
to a different location before creating the new system image by following these
    steps:
Navigate to the location of the system image.
    Copy the WindowsImageBackup
    folder to a new location.

  • My itunes no longer recognises my ipod nano and won't sync.  Any advice?

My ipod nano is no longer recognised by itunes and won't sync.  Itunes is on a Window 8 computer and while windows sees the device, itunes won't?  Any advice?

    Hi caro101,
Welcome to the Support Communities!  The article below will help you troubleshoot the issue you are having with your iPod nano not being recognized in iTunes.
iPod: Appears in Windows but not in iTunes
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1363?viewlocale=en_US
If you see your iPod in My Computer (Windows XP) or Computer (Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8) but not in iTunes under Devices, try these steps. Start at the top and work your way through the steps until iTunes recognizes your iPod.
If you don't see your iPod in My Computer, follow these steps.
This document is for Windows users and most older iPod models. See the following articles if you have this issue on:
    A Mac
An iOS device (iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch)
An iPod nano (5th or 6th generation) (and you see an alert message in iTunes when you connect the device)

  • IPod not recognised by Windows - here's a possible solution

I spent a good day off trying to work out why my iPod no longer recognised by Windows. Tried everything I could find on here and Apple's suggestions but none worked - dunno how much much extra crap I've put onto my computer.
Anyway, here's what I did to get my iPod recognised by Windows again.
Start Menu, Right click on "My Computer" select "Manage" and left click on "Device Manager". Scroll to "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" and click the + symbol. Right click on "SiS PC to USB Enhanced Host Controller" and select "Disable". Now reboot!!!!
    My iPod is back!

    thanks, adza!
be cautious if trying this on a Desktop with a USB keyboard and mouse. it's possible to end up shutting those down under those circumstances if you disable the high-speed interfaces. see:

we've had problems reported before with SiS chipsets and USB 2.0 ipod connections (from other Australians, indeed). it actually appears to be associated with some generalised problems with the SiS USB 2.0 implementation. there's some troubleshooting info specific to SiS given here:

  • IPod no longer recognisable

Hello, I have recently repaired my installation of Windows XP SP2 and since then, my iPod is no longer detected by Windows and iTunes nor the iPod updater.
    I have tried
    - Resetting the iPod.
    - Un/Reinstalling iTunes.
    - Trying another USB drive.
    - Unplugging all the computer cables for 30 minutes.
    - Changing the drive's letter. (as default, my drive doesn't even have a letter)
    The iPod successfully charges though.
