Muvo player prob

I have the plain 28MB player with no screen. well one day it froze, wouldnt play at all. i put in a new battery, still didnt work. And nothing till detect it,computer, xbox nothing. when i try to open it in my PC i get this message.
"H:\ is not accessible
The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error" i dont know what that means.

The manual says that a flashing red light is a battery problem. Have you checked your battery contacts and cleaned them up? How is the player when you connect it to your PC?
You could try a firmware update - there was a new version on the UK site in July of this year. It needs Recovery Mode so make sure you follow the instructions to the letter. You also need to d/l and install the Mass Storage Driver at the top of the page first.

  • Muvo NX prob

    I am having a bit of a problem with my Muvo NX. It's been working great for about 6 months now, but yesterday when I was moving some files onto it, it stopped mid-transfer. I tried to restart the transfer but it froze again. I tried to delete the files in question and it froze again. I reformatted the player, tried with some other files, but came up with the same result. It seems to fill up at about ~30MB (its a 256MB unit). It seems to have no problem accessing the files in the first half of memory. Any recommendations are appreciated.

    () Stated MB capacities are always approximate, especially because of the differing uses of powers (some say ,024, others says ,000) as well as formatting, storage for player-related files, and other issues.
    (2) You may also have filled your root directory (about 30 files); sometimes the error message when this happens is along the lines of "disk full". Create some directories and move your files into them.
    (3) And the ".trash" folder probably was trash.

    I received a Creative Muvo TX for Christmas as a present. I enjoyed using it, but nearly immediately, I experienced problems.
    What has been occurring is whenever I use my player, eventually, after an indeterminate amount of time, the player will freeze in the middle of playback and will emit a buzzing noise into the headphones. At that point I cannot turn the player off or adjust anything. It leaves me no options but to remove the unit from the battery pack and wait a while, then try again. Sometimes, it will not even progress past the opening Creative logo at all. Thinking it may be something to do with a corrupt file or something similar, I formatted completely the memory and started anew, using only one song as a test. That song froze as well. I also checked to upload new firmware, but I already had the latest version installed.
    Thinking I may have overlooked the simplest solution, I installed a new battery and it appeared to help, but less than a half hour into playback, I was experiencing the same problem again: the player froze and emitted this buzzing/static sound into the headphones.
    This is utterly frustrating and I await any help I can get on the situation. Thank you in advance.

    I don't have the same problem as you, but something a little similar. My Muvo TX will freeze once or twice about 30 minutes after putting in a new battery. Once I get past these, the device works fine again until I put in a new battery. Before it freezes, I will hear a little static. It might be interesting to try your Muvo with a battery that doesn't have a full charge and see if it does any better.

    I have a muvo n200 which for the past few days has turned itself off when ever i tried to increase up the volume. I tried to resintall the latest firmware upgrade but now my player has stopped working. When I turn on the player all i get is dots on the lcd screen with the backlight on. I tried to reinstall the firmware again and the firmware cant find the player connected to the computer, although windows explorer detects the device. Please can you help. Thanks in advance.

    If it's recognised on the PC, try formatting it first and then try updating the firmware again. If you can try the player on another PC, try updating the firmware there to see if it works.
    Otherwise it would be best to contact Customer Support for assistance, the player could be faulty.

  • MuVo Noise Prob

    I got my MuVo GB about 6 weeks ago. It was fine until yesterday when it started making a weird whirring noise on the mp3 tracks. I have changed batteries a few times and changed headphones, so that is not the problem. It sometimes happens that I play a song and the sound is there, then I play it again and it is gone, but 80% of the time there is this awful electronic loud background noise that drowns out the music almost. The noise is in synch with the music being played. Is it a reading problem with the player? If I hook the player to my PC and use the PC to play the track from the MuVo memory there is no problem. Any thoughts on this? I figure I will have to return this player to the shop/Creative for a replacement. How long is the guarantee for anyway? Thanks for any suggestions.

    I formatted the flash dri've on the MuVo N200 and it made no difference to the noise problem. Then I looked on the Creative site and found reference to a "distortion" noise in the frequent problems section. I updated the firmware and this seems to have solved the problem.

  • MuVo transfer prob

    I tried to transfer 8 songs onto my MuVo - 4 from CD's and 4 protected downloads from MSN Music using WMP. When I check the MuVo dri've in Windows Explorer, all 8 songs are present. When I disconnect the player to listen, only the 4 songs from CD's are on the player. Can anyone help?

    In addition to Mattan advice, you will also need to transfer WMA DRM protected files through either Mediasource or Windows Media Player to the player. Only such application allow the license to properly transfer over to the player.

  • Zen Vision:M 30GB Player Prob

    The problem is that my Zen Vision:M 30GB Player is stuck in recovery mode. I turned it on the other day with no previous problems, and now it only goes to recovery mode. The player is detected when I plug it in, but it does not leave recovery mode.
    I have tried:
    ) Cleaning Up
    2) Formatting
    3) Rebooting many times
    4) Reloading firmware
    All to no avail. When I try to reload the firmware on my computer by using the MP3 Player recovery tool it says "Upgrade Failed" at the end. I even tried downloading the firmware and upgrading it manually, but it only ended in the same outcome.
    My firmware is v.62.02_0.0.23?
    Any help is much appreciated.

  • Flash Player Prob. Help Please...

    OK I am not computer savvy in the slighest way, as you will soon find out. I only use Adobe Flash Player to play games and do Farmville on Facebook, and I just got a new computer tower in Jan. so everything was working perfectly. But yesterday all of a sudden I can't do anything because it is telling me in order to play games I must upgrade to Flash 10.1. I can download it and close the download manager but when I go to test it out, it shows that I have nothing. It is not working. I have trouble-shot and uninstalled just to install and uninstalled some more and now I am just flustered about it.
    I am running Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 8. I believe my operating system is 64bit but when I go to the start menu I see Internet (64 bit) and just Internet which I assume is the 32 bit version. So I am not sure what to do. If someone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

    OK when I look at tools and managte add ons it shows that shockwave is enabled under currently  loaded add ons. But when I go to the test page it says it was successful but I see no animation or image UGH......
    But under that link you asked about these are the file names..... Flash and FlashPlayerTrust and FlashInstall and LeapfrogConnect.cfg.
    I really hope that is what you needed to know because I am so not technological. Sorry for any confusion.

    Never had this before but recently I can hardlly access my own page because of this:
    "A script in this movie is causing Macromedia Flash Player 8 to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script."
    So I choose Yes or No. Doesn't matter. Still locks up. All the stuff I have I had before and this never happened. But it is getting more frequent.

    You know, I've seen this on a few pages too, not sure what it's related to, but I always choose Yes, because I assume that locking up Flash will likely lock up my browser. When I just went to your site, it didn't happen to me but if I visit and it does happen, I'll see if it locks up on me.

    Hi?I have an N200 as well and this sort of random switch off is normally fixed by a firmware reload. Look at the link in my signature line to the different versions of N200 firmware - the best thing to do is to reload the same version as you already have. If your version isn't listed or the links don't work then post back and I will find you a copy. PB

  • Media Player Prob

    Hello all, I had an interesting thing happen to me last week. I launched my Creative Media Player (just like I always have regularly for a couple years now) and wanted to play some music while I did some chores around the pad--but all of my music in my Library was gone. For example, I used to click on All Tracks and all the songs I have on my computer would be listed there--now they are not. The songs are still on my hard dri've, but for some reason the Media Player can't "see" them or something. I tried rescanning them into the library and it seems to work (I see a number listed next to All Tracks) but then when I click on All Tracks, no songs are listed and then when I go back it says there are 0 songs there. I played around w/ it all weekend long seeing if I could fix it but could not. Does anyone have any thoughts on what might have happened? Some weird bug? something else. Thanks so much,

  • Mediasource DVD-Audio player prob

    Ive had a problem trying to play back DVD-audio on this player. I put in the disc and it recognizes the tracks on the DVD, and even knows the bit depth and sampling rate of each song when i load them into the playlist(ex: foo it knows Foo Fighters is 24bit 88khz). But the player refuses to play. It either has the Play button greyed out, or simply wont play at all. Has anyone else had this problem, or could tell me howm to fix it's

    Your not the only one. I'm having the exact same issue. I just purchased a Audigy 4 Pro, and the Gigaworks 7. package this week and I'm getting the play button greyed out also, on the DVD-Audio player software. I'm trying to use the DVD audio sample disc that came with the package. I found if you remove the selected tracks from the play list, the play button will become "acti've", but as soon as you push it, it freezes the program.
    Did a search through the forum. Some named 'wxzcool' posted .03.05 about this same issue. Someone named 'hambone' also posted on .22.05 about this. So there is obviously something going on here with this software.
    Perhaps there is a bad batch of DVD-Sample discs? Yet, do you know the sample DVD-audio flash program that starts when you first install the software? the one where you can push "test"? that doesn't work for me either. So I'm guessing it's not the DVD. It must be a software conflict somewhere. I just find it hard to believe that has never been identified by Creative and listed as a known issue/bug somewhere?! I mean, this card/software has been out for how long now...
    I have tried almost everything and made sure I have it set to analog out, not digital. Will be trying a clean reinstall of windows xp and will let you know if that works for me.
    Even though I didn't buy it for DVD-A capability, it is still very disappointing to spend nearly $000 CAN on this "top of the line" audio package and it doesn't work for what is advertised.

    I have a fairly new (3 months) MuVo n200 (gb) MP3. I have about 553mb of data on this, but I cannot put more on. I get an error message when I try. If I remove a song, I can then put another one on in its place. Anyone have any suggestions?

    The players come from the factory using a FAT file system. This allows it to work in 99% of all operating systems, but also gives us the problems of older file systems.
    FAT only allows a small number of files in the root directory. About 30 I believe.
    There are two choice, put everything in subfolders.
    or
    Reformat the device using FAT32.
