MuVo: Strange noise on voice recordi

I have a MuVo TX that I use for recording meetings and classes (as well as the other things it can do).
When I play the voice recording back there is an odd thumping sound in the background. I get this no matter where I record and also hear it after transfering the WAVs to the computer.
Is this a known problem?
Is there any good audio editing software I can use to filter this noise out?

Not so good quality and wave files.... Hmm not very helpful... wav files are much bigger so will eat up the av space in no time... stoopid.
My nPod makes voc files from the built in mic which are fairly small but cannot be converted to mp3 (well, I have not found out how yet). But the quality is pretty good - have made some fairly good recordings of bands this way... dub them back to the PC to make mp3 or wav for Muvo or CD.
Why on earth has C made the input socket a small jack? Thought everyone uses 3.5 mm these days...
Otherwise a great machine for making mp3s off the streaming radio on t'net! Just for test purposes of course.

  • Using Muvo TX FM for voice record

Hi all, am looking forward to learning all about how to use my mp3 player via this forum--and hope to contribute as well (at least once I get the hang of things! :smileyvery-happy: )
I purchased the Muvo TX FM player and was wondering if anyone has used the voice recorder feature to do things like record class lectures, meetings, whatever, and what your experience has been with it.
I attend a lot of meetings as part of my job and think it might be helpful in recalling quotes and such--but I don't know how well it works in terms of range, etc. Sound quality doesn't have to be great just good enough for me to hear what is being said.
    Anyone?
    Thanks in advance
    C

Well, I did not record much until now, but here are some short thoughts:
It is best to lay the player e.g. on the table and do not move it around while recording, because touching the player and moving it will result in additional noise that will be recorded. Wind could also make the results worse.
And the range is depending on background noise level. I'd say a few meters, if it is quiet.
Since creative did some improvements to this feature, I suggest you use the newest firmware .3.03, it records on a higher volume level than the former one and creative reports that background noise is lower now.
Try it and out and see if the voice-recording is useful for you.

  • MuVo Voice Recording Qual

I've been a happy MuVo NX user for over a year, EXCEPT for its voice recording. I use it to record parts I'm supposed to sing with a chorus. When more than a few people are singing, the result is lots of loud static. I don't need a high-quality recording, but I would like to be able to avoid the static. Do any of the more recent MuVo units have a better voice recorder? Thanks.

I've bought a Muvo TX FM 52 and I'm having the same problem. The buzz/noise is too high. My friend has a different one (also TX FM 52) and the recordings have some noise too but it is acceptable. I'm so disappointed with this function of this player. I installed the new firmware but it didn't help at all. I intend to return it if I cannot resolve the problem.

It could be hard drive noise. You might want to try running SMART Utility:
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/systemdiskutilities/smartutility.html
You can download the demo and run it several times for free. It will give you a comprehensive view of the physical health of your drive. It seems to be somewhat more sensitive than Disk Utility, and may be able to detect impending drive failure sooner.
If you haven't already, run the extended version of the Apple Hardware test--always a good thing to do with a used machine.
    Good luck!

  • MuVo TX / N200 Voice Recordi

I am thinking of buying a MuVo TX and have a quick question for those of you who own a MuVo TX.
When you record a voice, can you transfer the file to your PC and play it as a mp3.
I see the MuVo TX records in IMA ADPCM format. Does this mean it is not a mp3 file?
How is the quality of the voice recording ? (It seems like a low sample rate!)
    Thanks

  • How many min. can i record with voice record with MuVo V200 1

    Hi,
I'm going to buy the Creative MuVo V200 GB.
Now my questions about this player.
How many minutes can i record over voice recording.
Maybe someone can tell me how much Megabytes minute of recording will take.
Are there different quality levels of recording?
In which format does the player save the recordings?
I will use the player to record lectures at the uni'versity.
    Did anyone have done this?

  • Nokia N8 strange noise in recorded clips

    Hi guys,
I'm not sure if this topic is for this subforum but if it's not please move it to the place.
And now the problem.Last night I recorded some clips on a concert and to my surprise when I played the clips at home there was some strange noise in them(which is not constant but just watch the video bellow and you'll get what I mean).I'm not completely sure why is that happening. But this is the first phone I hear it on.Maybe this has to do something with the noise canceling microfone freaking out.Or the mics are just way too sensitive and all the noise is too much for them to handle.Sadly enough there is no option to turn down the sensitivity or the noise canceling function. Here is an example of what I mean
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKX9dLg9Acs
    Any help will be appreciated.

No mate you are't the only one
I record a lot of music and I happened to tahke the N8 along last night myself and got this
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYupbGrciLM
You can hear the same noise on it.  It's clipping caused by high sound pressure overwhelming the microphones.  Here is the same song I recorded at the same time on a digital recorder with better mics.
    http://www.box.net/shared/9707pf0mgl
This is what I do for a hobby . http://turnitupto10.blogspot.com/
I hope to dub the recording on to the video later somehow.
I think the N8 is the best video recorder outside DVR devices that I have come across so far.
I actually came here tonight to ask if anyoine knew the best [and cheapest] software to use to strip the audio and re dub my own audio onto the video.
    But for now the answer to your question based on my experience is ;
The N8 is about as good as it gets in a phone,
the problem is the microphone, and
the microphones are very good for a phone.
    Nice clip by the way

  • Muvo N200 - Improving Voice Recording Using Built In Microph

I noticed that there is a transparent sticker over the N200 display.
It seems to cover the microphone.
Has anyone noticed any benefit by peeling this off and then making voice recordings.
I have tested it but can't hear any difference.
Anyone got any voice recording tips ?
    Thanks

    BognorRocks,
The transparent plastic is meant to protect the display from scratches. Although the plastic is covering the mic input hole. I don't think it makes such a big different in the recording.

  • When recording, strange noises and audio cut offs

When i open garageband and record a basic track (no other programs running), randomly, a scratchy noise that kinda sounds like a distorted, heavy metronome, comes from the left speaker or left headphone.
This noise is not recorded, but comes out very loudly in the monitor.
Also, when recording a basic track, the output audio will completely shut off from the monitor and from everything, but Garageband continues to record and the recording is not affected. This is a huge problem especially if im using a metronome or layering tracks. This does not affect iTunes or anything, JUST GarageBand
please help! should i bring it into a MacGenius?

    Hi ladyshade666-
Does it make this noise if you run the Mac with only the mouse, keyboard and monitor attached?
Are you absolutely sure the sound is coming from within the Mac? I have had a couple of FireWire disks that when connected inject all kinds of noise into my amplified speakers. I turn the drives off when I am in the studio.
Reverse polarity is very dangerous and will cause early demise of power supplies. You may also get yourself electrocuted. It may very well be the noise-causing difference in tour scenario.
I think your first call should be to an electrician.
    Luck-

  • Satellite A350 - Microphone make strange noise

When talking to people on Skype and MSN people say that my microphone makes this strange noise. They can vaguely hear me over the noise. People say it is kind of like a gurgling noise.
At first I thought it would be a driver issue so using Device manager in windows I searched online for an update for my Realtek High Definition Audio and it told me the version was up to date.
I went from Vista to Windows 7 about 5-6 months ago, Maybe a problem occurred when i reinstalled my drivers? Any advice would be appreciated!
    Computer specifications:
    -Windows 7 Ultimate SP1
    -Intel Core 2 Duo CPU P7450 2.13GHz
    4.00GB RAM (2.99 Usable)
    Thanks in advance

Have you noticed this using original Vista OS you got with your notebook?
To be clear: Skype or MSN is not relevant for mic testing. I use Skype daily with my A300 and some people hear me good and some of them have reported that sound is pretty bad.
Can you please make a small test and record your voice on Win7?
Go to the "Start" menu. Under "Programs," select "Accessories." Click "Sound Recorder."
Check quality with internal and external mic if you use headphones.

  • Muvo n200, lower level voice recored and encoded, and wanna configue EQ in FM m

I read the topic about Muvo n200 for a few day. I have a problem same as all of you. My problem is I cannot hear the voice that I recorded in my lecture room. Sounds like Ohh Uhh Umm, I cannot catch the word and the sound is low level. Firstly, I think it's from the plastic cover but after I pull it out the sound is same as before I put out. And encode function is low level noise, I should recorded in high level but the sounds is very bad.
And I don't know why I cannot configue qualizer in FM mode. I like the the sound when I configue equalizer in Music mode, but FM mode cannot. This make me disappoint very much.
I hope a new firmware of N200 will coming soon and it should be configue my problem that I'm bore.
    the_newkung

The microphone is quite short range.
Sounds like EQ with the radio is a wishlist item. Hopefully one of the moderators will log it for you, or you can send it direct to support.

  • Zen Vision: M Voice recorder feature for school quest

Hello guys. I am very close to purchasing a Zen Vision: M 30GB MP3 Player.
My main concern is with the Voice Recording function since i wish to record
    school lectures.
Will anyone who owns one of these or has direct information, please discuss this with me?
] How clear are the recordings? I'm planning to record 2-3 hour lectures at a time
2] I've been hearing there is a faint noise due to the hard-disk of the unit, does it present an issue?
3] How is the battery life, in terms of recording?
Any additional information you have dealing with recording, will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you in advance,
    ~Dimitriy

  • Voice recorder that's OSX compat.?

I know this question has come up before, but I haven't found an answer to my question.
I use an Olympus DS-330 voice recorder and it's Mac-compatible. It's got a limit, set to high-quality, of 4 hours or so, which isn't enough. It looks as though Olympus has basically abandoned Mac. (My recorder is four years old.)
I don't own an iPod and it seems like overkill for my purposes. Anyone have any recommendations for a Mac-compatible voice recorder that will record 8 hours on high-quality settings, and that's in the $150 and under range?

I switched this from "answered" because I'd like to hear more. Anyone have experience with the new Olympus OSX-compat. recorders, or other good Mac-compatible recorders?
I'm a reporter, so I'd especially like to hear how they work in that context -- one on one interviews, small groups w/ambient noise.
The DS-2 and WS-300M seem likely choices, but is the OSX integration smooth and useful? Olympus seems to have moved from using its proprietary DSS player to Windows media. Can you slow down playback on that?
Any other recorders worth using? I want at least 8-10 on a high-quality setting.

  • Simple voice recording into itunes

How can I record my own speech using itunes please? or point me to a previous thread?

This link is specifically about creating a podcast, but it talks about voice recording in GarageBand. Check out this link:

And if you have iLife, you should have GarageBand.
