MuVo TX FM 256 Mb prob

When i listen music (mp3) my MuVo shuts down forgeting all settings i made last time. It operates normaly when recording voice or listening radio.

Muvo TX FM weird connection prob

Hy everybody! Im from Germany, but bought my MUVO 256 TX FM over the internet about a year ago, and it worked quite well all this time, untill last week!
The weird thing is that the player works just fine, I can listen to the music already stored inside, but when I connect it to any computer (I tried about 5 different now), there is no response at all!! It is not even recognized as 'new hardware' or 'other hardware' in the device manager!!
However, the player shows the tipical "connected" screen when I plug it in!
Someone Help me!! XD

It should be in the manual... but basically you connect the player to the PC and it should appear as a dri've letter in Windows Explorer. You then copy supported audio files e.g. WMA, MP3, to the player as the dri've letter. Once copied you disconnect the player and the songs should be there and available to play.

MuVo TX SE 1GB formatting prob

I've been reading a lot of questions and answers, but I still couldn't find my question, so I post it here... I have a problem with my MP3 Player. I have a <I>MuVo TX SE</I> from <I>Creative</I>. (GB) I can not format my MP3 Player anymore. I can start up the progres, but afterwards it gives a system error or nothing on my computer works anymore. When I plug it out, the computer is functioning normal again. I also tried to format my MP3 Player with the program that goes with this MP3 Player. But again, the same problem. When I want to add music to my MP3 Player, I get the message I have to format it first. Eventhough I have an empty screen when I look at the file list. I hope someone can help me.... And that I made the problem clear for the one that can perhaps solve it. Thank you!

I dont really understand what you mean. I'm not a real expert in these kind of things.Also my MediaSource Organizer isn't working properly. It gives a messages that my PC Music Library is corrupted. And I didn't even have used it yet. I feel the problem lies with my MP3 Player. That something it damaged in it.. I wonder if there a more people with this problem. I've had this MP3 Player for about a year now. And now it's having problems.Kind of a bummer actually...

MuVo TX FM Adding song prob

I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me. I reci'ved an MuVo TX FM for Christmas and i can't figure out how to add songs to it. I have look all over this site and can not find anything on how to add them. My computer is a Dell Windows Xp, also. Please help me out!

It should be in the manual... but basically you connect the player to the PC and it should appear as a dri've letter in Windows Explorer. Muvo^2 FM (5gb) scandisk prob

I saw an earlier post that had the same problem as me, but there was no follow up answer.
Anyway, my problem is that when I start my Muvo up, it says that smartscan failed, and that I should press the menu button to go into recovery mode.
I then select PC scandisk, and it tells me to attach the USB cord.
Afterwards, the computer detects the Muvo, but nothing more happens. The screen on the Muvo is simply the icon that indicates that it is connected, but scandisk is not run at all.
I'm sure I am just skipping something really simple.

You need to run Scandisk from Windows manually. Open Windows Explorer and right click at the removable disk dri've letter of the player. Select Properties -> Tools tab -> Error checking column. Select the option 'Automatically fix file system errors' and start the process. Be sure to disconnect the player properly using the Safely remove hardware icon at the taskbar.

MUVO TX FM Firmware upgrade prob

I've downloaded MuVoTXFM_PCFW__24_02e_a file and began upgrading my player, when suddenly got an error, now I can't do anything with my MuVo - my PC doesn't see it, it doesn't turn on and I can't upgrade it.
Is there anything I can do with my player, exept for throwing it away?
How can I fix the problem?

Muvo TX SE 256

Hey all,
I tried to change the firmware on my from .20.02 to .4.02. During the firmware update progress, I got a error...
"Unable to send scsi command. Scsi sense code: Device reported - media error, allocation too large"
Now I can't start the mp3 player, but it does show up in "My Computer". I can't format it or put music on it. Does anyone know a solution? Or maybe someone has the working firmware...

i have a creative nomad muvo tx se 256mb mp3 player. it was first completely dead and computer was detecting it as STMP3500. then i installed the drivers and tried to update in recovery mode but the firmware while formating in updating progress gives th following error "scsi sense code: device reported media error, allocation too large" please someone tell me the solution to this problem.

Muvo TX FM battery drain prob

I've had this thing for about 6 months i guess. Bought it to use on a motorcycle but that didn't work out so now i use it as a personal recorder. In this context it will sometimes not be used for a couple weeks or more. The problem is every time i put it down i have to remove the battery and re-install it when i want to use it. If i let it sit with the battery in it for any length of time over several days or so the battery drains completely. And this is with the unit TURNED OFF. And yes, i have thought about the fact that the battery is used to retain settings i've stored, but how can that drain a battery in as little as a few days or a week? In fact, only a few settings are not set to default. i do have it filled with songs too, but that can't use battery power because if they are stored on a chip that requires power to retian them why don't they disappear when i remove the main part from the battery p[art? Is this thing defecti've or just junk? I doubt i have the reciept so sending it in for repair isn't an option.

Well, that doesn't tell you how to access recovery mode, so i had to do a support search for how to do that. As per my last post those instructions are not clear for the reasons i stated already. And as i also said, nothing i tried that could be interpreted as what it means worked. Plug it into the USB holding the menu button and you do not get recovery mode, nor do you get it after trying other buttons. Heres the instructions....
. Press and hold the Play/Pause button on the player until it powers off, and remove the battery.
2. Press and hold the MENU button, while doing so, connect the player to power supply/adapter
3. Release the MENU when the message 'Recovery Mode' appears on your player's LCD ( as illustrated below):
Note: If the message 'Recovery Mode' does not appear, repeat steps above.
4. Press the forward and back buttons (>>| and |<<) on the player to browse and select the desired recovery option. The Recovery Mode offers six options:
* Run PC ScanDisk In order for PC scandisk to run, the unit must be connected to the PC via the USB cable
* Clean Up (the player organizes files on the hard dri've and fixes any file problems which may have developed)
* Format all ( this will erase all data on the unit )
* Reload Firmware (Caution: Do not select this option until a firmware update has been downloaded onto the PC)
* Connect to PC (If your PC is having difficulty recognizing the player, we recommend this option)
* Reboot
Note number 2. I assume "power supply/adapter" means the USB port, but why don't they say that ?! It certainly cannot mean the battery housing because )- that doesn't make sense, and 2)- i tried it anyway and nothing happens when holding down the button as described. In USB as i said before, recovery mode never comes up no matter how long you hold the menu button.

(Creative Muvo TX FM) FM tuning Prob

hi, I just got my TX FM,
now I have a problem. It seems that it can't find an FM Station (autoscan), It can scan but cant find a frequency. before I have presets (it works a while ago), now all my presets was gone. I also tried setting an FM station but nothing happens, I cant hear anything, but when I switch to MP3 its okey and I can hear a sound. I dont know what happend, did I press anything? What seems to be the poblem? I also upgraded the latest firmware. I tried everything on settings but no luck.
pls help!

Broken 256 Muvo tx

Arrrgggg.......Jsut when I wanted to use it too.
If you own one you know how it splits apart so you can plug it into your computer. Well it seems the USB connecter is the problem. Ive only split it apart a couple of times too add songs, so Its a factory defect which sucks becasue I needed it this weekend. I guess It has to go in for warrenty, Lucky Ive only owned it since christmas. Its my favorite MP3 player so I dont want to give up on it. Ive had an Ipod literally explode on me, and a Iri'ver with a defecti've battery, So far this one has been the best sounding, best quality and best price with enough room for all of my favorite songs.

MuVo TX 256 stopped playing

Hi. I need help with MuVo TX 256.
I am a MuVo TX 256 new user. I bougth my little mp3 player fi've days ago and i have a problem. The MuVo TX 256 sotpped player musics 0 minutes after starting work. The battery icom is full, I already updated the firmware, formated the device and the problem sttil happening. The musics are mp3-28 bits format. I don't know what can I do....

Muvo TX FM: is the 256mb slightly faster than the 512mb when switching modes?(and starting u

I was just wondering if the muvo tx fm 52 is slightly slower than the muvo tx fm 256 when switching modes ?
because i have the 52 and my dad has the 256 and i noticed there's a difference
both of them have the lastest firmware on them .5.0
both of them are reasonably full / capcaity close to full
when i switch from radio mode to music in folders mode : the transition between the two modes are smooth and immediate on the 256
but when i do this on my 52 : i seem to have to an extra second of waiting time before it goes back into music mode
yeah i know it's a bit nitpicky to bring such a thing up , but i thought it was strange that there would be a difference , since they're both the same model and firmware ( only a difference in capacity between the 2 )
this occurance didn't start to happen until i upgraded it recently to .5.0 ( when this occurance starting appearing )
or maybe it's just my 52 that does this ?
anyway another thing that's strange that i've tested :
if i do switch back to an older firmware version for my 52mb : this extra delay between switching modes is non-existant / goes away
( it was non-existant before i upgraded to the new firmware )
also another thing i've noticed is the 256 seems to be faster at starting up after turning on too
when i first turn it on , only takes till the /4 of the sand in the egg timer icon and drained to the bottom before it starts playing music
with the 52 , it doesn't start playing music until all the sand in egg timer icon has drained to the bottom ( a second longer wait before the music starts playing )
also another thing to note is that
the firmware that came with the 256 , was .5.0 ( bought in april )
i bought the 256 a couple of months ago
with my 52 , which i had since december : i've used firmware old firmware that came with that ( i think .0.04 ) ( until switching to the newest firmware recently )

Sounds like it could be because of the capacity difference, maybe a mod could confirm this.

M-port and muvo tx

I recently recieved a Creative Muvo TX FM 256 as a gift. As I understand it, I can attach this to the m-port on my speakers and play music back without my computer. However, when I start the Muvo hooked in to the mport instead of the battery pack, I am able to play back music through headphones but not the speakers. Do I need to run a cable from the headphone port on the Muvo to the line in on the speaker dongle? Or should it play just because it is plugged in to the mport? The latter is what I am hoping, if it is, how do I get it to play through?
(speakers are basic creative 7.'s)

Unfortunately the MuVo TX FM is not compatible with the M-Port. The M-Port was designed to work with the MuVo NX players and does not require a cable to be run from the player to the speakers for the NX.

Tengo un creative muvo tx fm 256, el otro dia quise actualizarlo, y me podia ponerlo "in recovery mode", cuando condegui esto, acutalice el firmware, pero a partir de ahi mi mp3 a dejado de funcionar, no se enciende y el ordenador no lo reconoce, alguien me puede ayudar?

Vol. control screwy on MuVo TX FM

I just bought two MuVo TX FM 52's, and they each have the same problem with the FM radio: When listening to an FM station, as you increase the volume, it's barely audible until setting 32. Then at setting 33 it jumps way up, really loud. This same phenomenon occurs on both 52's at exactly the same settings. However, this does not occur when playing recorded music or voice recordings; only FM radio.
My daughter has a MuVo TX FM 256, and hers doesn't have this problem with the radio.
Any suggestions? (Otherwise, I LOVE these little things!)

Go to the download page, download and update the latest firmware available to the player. That should help.
