• Help: MuVo² 5 GB firmware error and connection proble

Thanks in advance to everybody reading this. I've searched through the forums for two hours and have not found a solution.
When started, my girlfriend's Muvo? 5 GB player only shows "firmware error" and switches to recovery mode. So I tried "Scan Disk", "Clean Up", "Format All" rebooting between each step. Nothing changed, so I downloaded the firmware "Creative MuVo? FM Firmware version .00.02". I could not find the exact firmware for the 5 GB player and read in the forum, that this version should work. When I chose "Reload Firmware" and attached the player via USB after I had been told to do so, my computer recognized the player. However when I tried to run the .exe file the setup told me "Your player is not connected, please connect your player."
I've tried it on four different computers and the same message keeps popping up. I'd be really grateful if anybody could help me out on this one. Thanks in advance.

luis bustamante-
Greetings and welcome.
Pull out both of those cards and see if you can boot.
It is most likely one of them or an externally connected peripheral.

This is part of the message since you cannot post such a long message in posting.
This should show how lost you might be with your warranty. If you install the Firmware Upgrade .8.02 your player might be useless. There is no way to make it work again. Not really. If you understand what Creative seems not to do. So dear user - buy a new player. If you want to know what the solution is to make your player work again post here. If there are enough postings I will explain it here. Too sad that Creative does not do it. It is their job not mine... But again - I am not talking about a problem what is nice to have it solved. I am talking about a player that does not work anymore. If you do not want to wait for my solution just send your player for repair - it was not your fault that it does not work anymore...
This story with the great support was a test of Creative and will be used in a review. So be not surprised to find it somewhere else.
Here the Creative support story. The first mail is at the bottom. I had to make part and part 2 since you cannot post such a long message here.
To: Creative Labs Asia Customer Support <[email protected]][email protected]>Subject: Re: CLA (CTL) - Technical Support Request - (MuVo TX FM) (KMM7755874I6636L0KM)Dear,I know the solution long time already. I just wanted to test the support at Creative. The problem is real and forces owners of your players to buy a new one since their playes get useless after the upgrade. Not only that Creative puts a faulty upgrade on their homepage - their support is good for nothing. But this was a test of the Creative support. I hardly can believe that Creative is not in the position to solve a very simple problem caused by Creative - what has severe consequences for their customers. But this mail story confirms exactly this. So my advice to any customers - stay away from this company and their products - what is the final result of my test. If you want to know the solution for the problem please contact me again - I am glad to help such a poor company :-)))) For free? I am not so sure...since my player was not for free too...Best Regards,PeterPS: The product is still within the "police period" of my dealer. And I did not just buy the product. • MuVo TX FM memory prob

HELP! I just bought a Muvo 52mb TX FM. I converted my mp3's to WMA format to reduce the size so it can play more songs. When I tried to load 480mb worth of WMA music I was only able to move 228mb worth. Properties show I still have 267mb of free space but I get an error when adding even more file. Since then I loaded the lastest firmware and still no luck. Any suggestions?

Hi, Did you just transfer them straight in as files, not in folders or anything? - if it works in the same way as my Muvo N200, (from the product specs I think it does) there's a limit to how many files you put in the root directory like that. You have to put them in folders first and then transfer the folders onto the player as if they were files. This can either be done just by copy and paste of folders into your 'muvo tx fm media explorer' directory in 'my computer' (just like the media explorer window was for a floppy disc), or folders can be created in media source. There's a step by step explanation of how to do this (with pictures) here.
Folders are really useful for organization too, as you call name them things like 'rock' or 'classical' etc. and then sort your tracks, or give them album names!
Of course if you've already done this, or your muvo works differently to mine, this will be no use to you, but just in case...

• MuVo TX FM radio prob

Hi!
I have a muvo tx fm (256mb) player which was bought in France.
For a while the fm radio worked just fine. Then the player started to freeze if I try to tune to any station.
Out of approximately 0 attempts I can get the radio work only once. But even if it turns on I still can't tune to any frequency, the player just freezes again.
The only thing I can do after it freezes is to disconnect it from the battery and reconnect again.
I have the firmware version .00.04.
I tried the latest firmware .3.03 but with it the player stops responding right after I switch the radio on. So i downgraded back to the original firmware.
Anyway i still can't get the radio working.
thnx and regards,
Konstantin

st problem:
I'm suffering of the same problem. The player just freezes at 89.00 Mhz when I try to tune in the radio. It's too bad that one need to remove/ replace the battery before it starts again. I am in possession of a Muvo N200 GB.
2nd problem:
When you try to jump to the next song, the player simply sto
ps.
But the other way around, jumping backwards isn't any problem at all. But it's pretty annoying hearing the same songs over and over again when having capacity of GB.:mansurprised: Could somebody help me, please?

• Muvo TX FM 512MB prob

I got a TX FM for Christmas and then a little over a week ago I couldn't get it to turn on. I didn't do anything to troubleshoot the problem for a couple days. Then I decided I had better take care of it, and sat down in front of my computer to try and find a solution. But before I started I tried to turn the Muvo on one last time, and low an behold, it worked, and continued to work for the next couple of days. Then I had the same problem again. This time I didn't wait and see if it would come on later and started looking for a solution on the Internet immediately. First I tried to format it, but that didn't work. Then I updated the firmware. It still wouldn't turn on. Finally I tried changing the battery, but I didn't think that would work because I was pretty sure the last time I had it on before it stopped working the battery meter showed that it still had half a charge. But to my surprise it did work, so I figured that I was mistaken about the battery meter. Earlier tonight I had been listing to it while I was working and turned it off for a second to talk to someone. When I tried to turn it back on it wouldn't respond. So I stuck it in my pocket, very frustrated, and wanting to get off work so I could come home and post this message and hope someone could help me. About fi've minutes latter I tried to turn it on again and it worked. Then I turned off and tried to turn it back on again, but it wouldn't come on. So I waited another fi've or so minuets and I was able to get it to come on again. But after turning it off again the problem returned. I went through this cycle one more time and then stopped trying. When I got home I couldn't get it to come on at all, So I tried formating it, but it still doesn't work. If someone knows how to fix this I would be very grateful.

All you can try is the standard recovery and update procedure. Try downloading the latest driver and firmware from the website. Install the driver file. After you have installed the driver, press and hold the PLAY button, continue holding the button while inserting the player into the USB port for about 0-5 sec. Run the firmware update file and check/tick the 'Format Data Area' check box and click on 'Start'.
If this doesn't help then you need to either return it where you bought it or contact Creative Support.

• Formated Muvo NX before firmware update, help plea

For some time ago, I formated my MuVo NX 28mb player by mistake. This caused the player the firmware to go "blank", the player would not start at all. I tried to download the firmware update, but it couldn't see the difference between my mp3 player, and a normal memory stick. Anyone have any ideas that can solve this problem?
Oh, and I apologize for bad english, as it is not my nati've language.

Is there a Recovery Mode for your player? See the sticky post at the top of the page.

• Help, crash during Muvo TX FM firmware upgr

Hi,
While upgrading (have upgraded with no issue twice in the past) my muvo to the latest firmware, the installation was interrupted.
Now my Muvo is neither recognized by my PC (Win2K) nor does it boot (the LCD stays dark) in its sleeve even with a brand new battery. Is there a way I can recover my device

• I want to downgrade my MUVO v200 to firmware 0.

Hi,
I have a Muvo v200, worked perfect in all computers until i upgrade to the last firmware, bad idea. I bought a Woxter with an USB port, and my MUvo v200 MP3 player not regconized, i thought maybe if i update my firmware it could be works. NO works in a voxter x-div.
I updated tho the last firware in the web, and works perfect in my enterprise, with a lot f computers, but when i arri'ved at home with my motherboard P4C800 Deluxe, the computer freeze, and gave me an error on hardware found.
I've read almost all the messages in the forum, recovery mode, USB mass storage, uninstall, reinstall drivers, i downgrade my Muvo with the complete list of older firmwares. I update the motherboard bios, the USB controller to USB2, the full speed in the bios.
And in some computers not works.
Before i upgraded, it works with all computers, and is that i want now.
Please i'm wonder if it's posible to extract the firmware of the recovery that is 0.0.0 and put in the firmware of my muvo v200 again. I'm sure that works again with all computers.
Believe me, when i say that i read almost all the faqs and messages, and i try a lot of possibilites during 3 days.
I'm waiting an answer thanks a lot in advance.

Hi rufustfirefly
Were you trying to install the following firmware?

Dated Aug 21, 2015
File Name : MuVoV200_PCFW_LF_1_13_03.exe
If this is the correct file, do note there is already a warning in the description that explicitly states the following:
"...web release note. This firmware removes your player's FM recording feature."

With regards to your question, if you need to get the player replaced, stay in contact with Customer Support as they will be able to arrange that for you. Just let them know that you have tried the tips they gave you and that they didn't work. They have to go over these steps as they resolve problems for many people.
