MuVo TX FM memory prob

HELP! I just bought a Muvo 52mb TX FM. I converted my mp3's to WMA format to reduce the size so it can play more songs. When I tried to load 480mb worth of WMA music I was only able to move 228mb worth. Properties show I still have 267mb of free space but I get an error when adding even more file. Since then I loaded the lastest firmware and still no luck. Any suggestions?

Hi, Did you just transfer them straight in as files, not in folders or anything? - if it works in the same way as my Muvo N200, (from the product specs I think it does) there's a limit to how many files you put in the root directory like that. You have to put them in folders first and then transfer the folders onto the player as if they were files. This can either be done just by copy and paste of folders into your 'muvo tx fm media explorer' directory in 'my computer' (just like the media explorer window was for a floppy disc), or folders can be created in media source. There's a step by step explanation of how to do this (with pictures) here.
Folders are really useful for organization too, as you call name them things like 'rock' or 'classical' etc. and then sort your tracks, or give them album names!
Of course if you've already done this, or your muvo works differently to mine, this will be no use to you, but just in case...

• Memory probs n93

apart from this one prob my phone works fine
i have 2gb but when i take a video and i go to gallery i get message "close app not enough memory" even though im not running any more apps in the background....
can anyone help with this?

They won't bother I'm sorry to say.
They are so big, they are above the law.
Here in the UK, there is such a thing as the Sale of Goods Act. Within the act is mention of goods having to be 'fit for their purpose'. Well the N93 is sold as being more than just an instrument for telephony. If it was just this, people wouldn't pay a price which is considerably higher than the retail price of a more 'standard' cellphone. Nokia certainly make a big deal out of all the features.
Unfortunately, the N93 is not fit for it's purpose. Even as a device for making normal voice calls, it fails if it happens to crash at that time.
If I had more money, I would see Nokia in court. The company seems to think it's acceptable to sell faulty merchandise if it can later be fixed by a software update.
In this context, we're not talking about an update that will enhance a functional phone. This is an update that might render the phone useable as the problems with my phone appear to be inadequate available RAM. What adds insult to injury is that the phone doesn't simply close and reboot. It freezes and the only way of getting beyond this is by removing the battery. This hardware has surely not been designed to have the battery moved three times a day.
A more realistic description of the N93...
A smartphone with many clever features...as long as you only use one feature at a time and as long as you are happy to remove the battery after a few minutes of use and then to reboot the phone.
Don't these idiots test their phones before selling them?
If you've not got a N93 yet...don't! It is NOTHING like how you might perceive it. It is junk.

• Help! serious memory prob

i can't save or delete files to my creative muvo slim's internal memeory. it worked fine at first, but recently i ran into a problem. i've tried using both the mediasource organizer and windows explorer, but no matter which i use i see onscreen that the files have been saved/deleted as i requested, but then i unplug the muvo slim from the computer to find that the files really haven't been saved/deleted. i don't know if it's related or not, but the button to turn down the volume doesn't work, and every time i turn the player off the volume is reset to the default 20. the first problem is the one that's important, the second i can li've with. can anyone help me solve this problem? the player hasn't recieved any physical damage. i use windows XP. in the past i never needed to use the right click > eject function, but i tried when i ran into this problem, and it made no difference. i also tried reformatting using the technique i found in this forum, but i got the message, "could not format".

captinanarky,
Have you try downloading the latest firmware from the website and use the firmware update application to format the player? If you have not, I would suggest doing this first.

• Muvo tx fm driver prob

everytime i connect my muvo tx fm to my computer, i always have to install the driver because my computer does not recognize my unit. do i need to update my driver so that i will install it once?

We've seen from some Nano Plus users that the latest version on new players has FM Recording back on again so we'll just have to wait for Creative to post a later version to the website. PB

• MuVo TX FM radio prob

Hi!
I have a muvo tx fm (256mb) player which was bought in France.
For a while the fm radio worked just fine. Then the player started to freeze if I try to tune to any station.
Out of approximately 0 attempts I can get the radio work only once. But even if it turns on I still can't tune to any frequency, the player just freezes again.
The only thing I can do after it freezes is to disconnect it from the battery and reconnect again.
I have the firmware version .00.04.
I tried the latest firmware .3.03 but with it the player stops responding right after I switch the radio on. So i downgraded back to the original firmware.
Anyway i still can't get the radio working.
thnx and regards,
Konstantin

st problem:

2nd problem:
When you try to jump to the next song, the player simply sto
ps.
But the other way around, jumping backwards isn't any problem at all. But it's pretty annoying hearing the same songs over and over again when having capacity of GB.:mansurprised: Could somebody help me, please?

• Muvo TX FM 512MB prob

I got a TX FM for Christmas and then a little over a week ago I couldn't get it to turn on. I didn't do anything to troubleshoot the problem for a couple days. Then I decided I had better take care of it, and sat down in front of my computer to try and find a solution. But before I started I tried to turn the Muvo on one last time, and low an behold, it worked, and continued to work for the next couple of days. Then I had the same problem again. This time I didn't wait and see if it would come on later and started looking for a solution on the Internet immediately. First I tried to format it, but that didn't work. Then I updated the firmware. It still wouldn't turn on. Finally I tried changing the battery, but I didn't think that would work because I was pretty sure the last time I had it on before it stopped working the battery meter showed that it still had half a charge. But to my surprise it did work, so I figured that I was mistaken about the battery meter. Earlier tonight I had been listing to it while I was working and turned it off for a second to talk to someone. When I tried to turn it back on it wouldn't respond. So I stuck it in my pocket, very frustrated, and wanting to get off work so I could come home and post this message and hope someone could help me. About fi've minutes latter I tried to turn it on again and it worked. Then I turned off and tried to turn it back on again, but it wouldn't come on. So I waited another fi've or so minuets and I was able to get it to come on again. But after turning it off again the problem returned. I went through this cycle one more time and then stopped trying. When I got home I couldn't get it to come on at all, So I tried formating it, but it still doesn't work. If someone knows how to fix this I would be very grateful.

All you can try is the standard recovery and update procedure. Try downloading the latest driver and firmware from the website. Install the driver file. After you have installed the driver, press and hold the PLAY button, continue holding the button while inserting the player into the USB port for about 0-5 sec. Run the firmware update file and check/tick the 'Format Data Area' check box and click on 'Start'.
If this doesn't help then you need to either return it where you bought it or contact Creative Support.

• Strange MuVo sq 5.0GB prob

My MuVo 2 5GB FM mp3 player has ceased to operate in what to me seems a very odd way. I'd like to see if anyone else has seen this particular malfunction.
After finishing listening to an audio book, I connected the player to my PC, navigated to the appropriate folder, deleted the book files (mp3), and downloaded some new audio files (wma this time) into the same folder. After the download was complete, I turned off the player and plugged it in to recharge. As usual, the battery state and external power icons flashed alternately, but after about 30 minutes, the display went blank. At that point I disconnected the transformer and hit to power button.
Now the strange part. The display came on showing the date and indicating a full charge, but in addition, one of the files that I had loaded earlier began to scroll, continuously, across the screen from right to left. And, both the power and menu buttons became inoperati've; that is, I could not access any of the menu options, nor could I turn the player off.
By removing and replacing the battery, I was able to access the recovery mode and move through the options. However, none of the options appeared to have any effect except the reboot. When I selected this, I was taken back to the scrolling display and the buttons once again became inoperati've. So, for now it's just a paperweight with a scrolling display.
Anyone have any ideas what has happened? Any ideas as to how to go about fixing it's I will contact Creative tech support and the reseller, but I don't know how successful I'll be in either getting it fixed or replaced.

I have the same problem. My MuVo^2 has also ceased to operate with this strange problem. It simply doesn't go anywhere once I put the battery on just the way you did. Is there any solution to this problem?

• MuVo TX SE memory problems HEEEELP!!! (plea

After turning on my mp3 there is a no music message. I checked player information, and i can find a total memory: 0 MB. I can't format disc. When I want to explore the player there is a message, that I have to format it. Please help.

A format probably won't help - you will need to reload the firmware and select the check box that says Format Data Area. PB

• Memory probs after Leopard--can't run some applications

I installed Leopard and am now having all kinds of memory problems. I'm unable to run some applications at all, and unable to perform some functions within ones that do run. Always getting a "not enough memory" message. I never had this problem with Tiger. I see other discussions about Leopard and memory issues, but am afraid they're above my technical knowledge. How do i find out if I really am short on memory now? Activity monitor Disk Usage shows 92 GB in use and only 1 GB space free. I don't have any huge graphics applications or anything. Opinions?
Thanks!

Hi Erica_D;
As everyone else has said you have your hard drive over full. You must start getting rid of some files on the hard drive. Two good applications for finding out where you are using the disk space are WhatSize and OmniDiskSweeper.
Once you get some free space, I would strongly recommend that you boot from the install media that came with your Mac and repair the disk. When you run your free disk space as low as you have it greatly increases the chances of file corruption. If you done repair this corruption it can lead to all kinds of strange problems in the future.

• Memory probs with asha 300

My phone has started to flash up a message that says 'memory full'. I do not have a memory card in , i do not have an excessive amount of photos or videos / saved texts/ etc so i dont understand why it should suddenly start to do this. Why is it doing it and what should i do to stop it. also how do i stop it happening again ? Thanks

Opera Mini and Nokia Browser are just different web browsers which work a lot better than the stock browser (in-built browser). Get opera mini from - http://mini.opera.com
I think the stock browser deletes the browsing history when you exit the browser.. You can use 'Clear the Cache' option to clear any temporary files stored on the phone. But that seriously won't have any change on the memory full issue..
Just use Opera Mini and I'm sure you won't like returning back to stock browser ever again. You'll find out the difference in their working.
Also, try using the version 7.x of Opera Mini if that works. Its better than the 4.x but is just a bit more heavy on RAM.

• Nokia HERE! Maps WP8 - Removing Maps - Memory Prob...

Hi All,
I have a Nokia Lumia 820 with approximately 500 MB of memory free.
I am trying to download an offline map (approximately 100 MB) but I am always getting an error stating: "Not Enough Room, you need at least 1,137 MB of free space on your phone to get this map".
I get the same message when I try to delete a previously downloaded map to free up memory!
Anyone had this issue before? Any help wuld be appreciated.

If its absolutely necessary to have the maps, the only solution I can think of is full reset of your device ..(setting-->about-->reset your phone). This should bring the phone back to Out-of-Box state. You may want to back-up /sync your data before doing this. All the applications downloaded / installed from the MarketPlace will need to be re-installed. Not to worry as even the paid applications will also be available for redownload without paying for them again ..
