Muvo TX SE - No Songs - Hang- De

Hi,
i have a Muvo TX SE, worked fine for two weeks, today it said "no Song", i checked the USB Storage on XP, Songs there, i removed songs, formated it (i did it at the beginning to, it worked for me), windows said, Device cant be formated and exited,
So the Player is dead, it keeps saying no songs, and i when i try recording it says no place on it there were 300 mb free, then the whole 995 mb free and still no place error.
Then i tried a new firmware but the software couldnt recognize the device, so its dead, cant be formatted and not accessed

Well, new news, i dl the manual, why the hell couldnt creative give me a printed manual and not only one of those install books.
I read there, that i have to format the muvo in Fat mode, not in FAT32 Mode, i did, it worked fine, but i still cant put songs on it, and the player does not recognizes the space, when i check it on the player.
Firmware, i havent found any firmware that suits for it.
I tried to write a mail to the support, but the formmailer hangs, i tried to figer out my modell number - impossible, i tried to search the list of the modells, but there is neither a creative muvo TX with GB storage nor is there a "creative muvo tx se gb" (thats mine)
I beginn to see what the se = special edition stands for
Next the Modellnumber page tells me "check the list below for your modell or see the illustrated description how to determine the modell number"
Ok, the list hasnt got my modell but gosh there arent any illustrations for "how to find the modell number" linked on this page, i checked everything, i found the SerialNumber but no Modell Number on it, and i searched everything.Message Edited by Ocular on 0-6-2005 05:36 PM

  • GRRR - MuVo won't play songs after it's removed from USB P

:robotmad:Just bought a Nomad MuVo for a X-mas gift for my daughter, and I can't get the songs to play after I've removed the player from the USB Port. WMA songs seem to download to player OK, as I can play them from the MuVo through the jukebox software that was included with the MuVo. However, as soon as I take it out of the computer and turn it on, the light quickly goes from green to red as if there are no files there. Windows Explorer shows that they ARE. I always use the "safely remove hardware" function. I've tried to solve this by:
    Reformatting the player</LI>
Removing the "settings.dat" file from the player</LI>
    Downloading/installing latest firmware</LI>
    Downloading/installing latest driver</LI>
None of the above has changed anything.
If it matters, the WMA files I'm trying to download were purchased from WalMart online.
    <PLEASE HELP!

Jason - I could kiss you!!! The Windows Media software worked!!!!
Call yourself Santa because the only thing my daughter wanted for X-mas was an MP3 player and gift cards for music to download online. The MuVo was the 2nd player I bought -first one was an unnamed cool-looking (but so far entirely useless and supportless) one from EBay. I've been wasting endless hours since November trying to get one or the other to work with downloaded DRM-protected WMA files. I don't know what I would've done without you!!!
However, I'm irritated that the Creative website inferred that if I downloaded the latest software/firmware, it would allow me to use DRM songs with their software. I would think that a ton of people are going to have this issue, and the Creative info tells you that you have to use the enclosed software. This issue should really be prominently posted in the troubleshooting section.

  • MuVo TX FM Adding song prob

I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me. I reci'ved an MuVo TX FM for Christmas and i can't figure out how to add songs to it. I have look all over this site and can not find anything on how to add them. My computer is a Dell Windows Xp, also. Please help me out!
    --Michael

It should be in the manual... but basically you connect the player to the PC and it should appear as a dri've letter in Windows Explorer. You then copy supported audio files e.g. WMA, MP3, to the player as the dri've letter. Once copied you disconnect the player and the songs should be there and available to play.

You should have not go up to Leopard if you are not going to upgrade to Logic 8. Either upgrade to 8, or go back to Tiger if you want to avoid misbehaviors.

  • Creative Muvo stops after each song

My creative muvo has begun to stop play after each song. You have to scroll to the next song manually. Has anyone had this problem? (The battery is fully charged)

If the Play Mode is set to normal then that shouldn't happen. Could be a problem with the files on the unit, you could try formatting it and then transfer some new tracks over (rip them from CD for example). It might help aswell to update the firmware.
You didn't mention which MuVo it is exactly, but if there is a firmware update available for it, it'll be in the Downloads section (Support > Downloads).

  • After upgrading Video iPod 60 to 1.1 rating a song hangs the ipod

This is really wierd. i upgraded my ipod to version 1.1 now whenever I rate a song, the screen locks up.
The current song continues playing but the elapsed time doesnt change and none of the buttons work, all I can do is reset the ipod. If i don't rate any songs it works fine.
    Anyone else had this problem?
    thanks

My two cents worth, after upgrading to 1.1 today (device owner for 2 days now) I ran into this problem about 2 hours later. Accidentally turned up the volume full blast when using it because I didn't realise that when it locks up when you use the clickwheel it actually changes the volume and not the rating!
    I've also had :
1 ) Video forward/reverse looks like its not using I-Frame information for preview so the screen is garbled during fastforward or fastrewind. (Not problem with fw 1.0) - This is however on video created with Jodix creator.
2 ) Crashes and reboots when fastforwarding and fastrewinding video (again video created with Jodix)
3 ) One random occurance of it rebooting when scrolling through menus.
Apple for legal reasons they should let users know that the upgrade is not reversable. I don't recall being told by the upgrader that it cannot go back (I could be wrong).
Perhaps they could also add a list of 'whats new' like how the menu button when pressed and held goes back to the menu rather than turn off the lcd, and add 'undocumented feature - will cause lockups'.

  • Why are my songs hanging?

my itunes is having difficulty playing all my songs on my pc.  please advise.

Try right clicking the songs in iTunes and Getting Info on them. Make sure the start and stop times haven't been modified on the Options tab.
If you can't see anything unusual in the Info tabs, you may have to import the tracks again.

  • Songs no longer playing in order on muvo v

bit of an odd problem--recently my 2 gb muvo v00 stopped playing songs in alphabetical order for some directories. Some directories with numbered tracks are somewhat random--the latest album i put on went: 04, 05, 07, 08, 09, 0, 0, 02, 03, 06, , 2, 3. this isn't filesize order or tagged name order, the player's not on shuffle, and they're always in this order. Other directories play in normal order.
In another directory with about 00 songs--it goes in semi-random order, and repeats some songs before it has played them all (only sometimes--perhaps the first time it goes through a new group of songs(?).)
this started around the same time someone (not me!) got the brontok.c virus onto the muvo's usb memory. at least one album that played in order before stopped playing in order after the virus. i got rid of it with antivirus software, and subsequently reinstalled the firmware / reformatted (to .02.03, the same that was on it when i got it), and also held down the scroll button and turned it on into recovery mode and did a cleanup that way, but both times the problem remains. the player otherwise works fine but it's annoying not to hear albums in order. any ideas?

This is very interesting and I think it's related to my problem. I wonder if it has anything to do w/DRM [Digital Rights Management]?:
+This is something that recently started happening. I record a radio show with Audio Hijack pro. I import it to iTunes and it plays fine. I then find a small selection that I'd like to edit and keep. I open Fission and do my editing and save it. It saves under the name I assign it. I try to import the new file to iTunes and it doesn't load in to iTunes because the tag is still the same as the original file. I found this out when I used Finder to "Get Info." I changed the tagged name of the original file that is still residing in iTunes and then tried importing the new file to iTunes again. No go. I then double clicked the file in Finder to get it to play in iTunes. It played, but strangely enough, it didn't appear in the Music Library, but it did appear in the "Recently Added" section of the iTunes window. I used that appearance to change the Tags completely. I checked the "Music Library" after that, but the selection still did not appear. I tried dragging it from "Recently Added" to the Library, but it didn't work. I also tried dragging it to my iPod, but that didn't appear to work either.+
+I then tried a work-around and created a playlist with that selection and another selection and dragged that playlist over to the 'pod. The selection appeared on the 'pod, but only within the playlist, not the 'pods music library. I could play the new selection only via the playlist. It is still invisible to iTunes.+

  • My iPod hang when I skip the song in shuffle mode

I always use shuffle songs and skip to find the song I wanted. I have used it for 11 months and this month my iPod hang oftenly. I send it to apple care in Thailand. They take 4 days and call me to get my iPod back. They said "There is no problem with my iPod". After I play it in the same way for a while, it hang again.
I have called my local support. They told me that iPod is not designed to use like that. We cannot use shuffle songs and skip the song oftenly. I do not think the iPod do not support this. I used it for 11 months and have no problem. When I have the problem, they say I cannot use like this.
Is there anyone find this problem? In shuffle songs mode, using skip oftenly. I would like to double check this problem before send it to apple again.
    Thanks.

    Hi tokepi,
I'm having exactly the same problem, and after upgrading to the latest iTunes Version it has gotten worse.
I'm trying to find the software to reformat the hard drive of the iPod as my suspicion is that the hard drive has errors on it, hence why the songs hang or skip to the next track.
Unfortunately I've been unable to find the utilities to reformat the drive, but I guess that Apple must have the ability to do it, or replace the drive.
Make sure you keep all communications with Apple as your iPoad should still be under 12 months warranty, and so if defective they should replace it free of charge.
Good luck and let me know if they get it fixed!

  • Problems with some songs in iTunes (and my iPod)

    Hi,
I do not know whether this is the right category for my problem, but I did not find a suitable one.
I have problems with some songs in iTunes. They do not sound right. It is hard to me to describe my problem in English (thanks to apple's "great" support...I was not able to contact them personally except by phone). The songs "hang", they sound like someone reels (?) it. The problem does not only appear with iTunes but also with my iPod nano first generation.
My godmother brang me CDs where that problems appear (but not the whole CDs have that problem, only a few songs) from the USA - I live in Germany. Maybe that is cause of the error. But I cannot imagine that, because CDs there and here have the same format and I have several CDs from the US where is no problem at all. I am absolutely sure that the CDs are originals and not a copy, by the way.
Maybe you can help me, it would be great!
    Thanks,
    Jule

Yes, I thought that's what Restore should do, but the problems remain.  Hmmm, the out of order 'album's' songlist is notated 1 of 8, 2 of 8, 3 of 8...  I'll try 01, 02...
    Probably a good idea.
The other album is running through the list of songs like fast-forward, but not playing the songs.  Then, iPod locks up.
Do these same tracks play okay in iTunes?  What is the original source for these tracks?  Were they downloads from the iTunes Store or imported from outside of iTunes?  What format are they encoded in and at what bitrate?

  • Muvo Micro / Muvo TX FM vs Sony NWE-

I am still deciding on whether to buy one of the muvos or the sony nwe-405.
I like the lithium-ion battery cuz using AAA batteries just isn't for me. Also, I was wondering what the interface is like for the muvos - can you select songs through a menu like the Sony Network Walkman?
Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

I haven't seen many reviews on the Sony player, but a comparison of features with my MuVo N200 shows it lacks FM radio and voice recorder. Sony claims their 52MB stores 345 songs, but beware that's "Calculated based on 4 minutes per song @ 48kbps in ATRAC3plus? format." One downside of an embedded Li battery is that if it ever fails [rare], that's essentially the end of the player.
I'm happy with Creative's MediaSource software. It does quick mp3 rips and organizes music by genre, artist and album. The USB 2.0 interface makes data transfer fast. The shuttle switch makes it easy to navigate whatever folder hierarchy you choose. Artist/album/track works for me.

  • MuVo N200 Problem - High Rattling Ec

    Hello,
I recently started experiencing a playback problem with my MuVo, in which the songs have a high, rattling echo to them. At first i thought it was the headphones, but it's the player. I've tried erasing the dri've (I'm running Mac OSX), cleaning, etc. It still persists. I'm away for the summer and am unable to get the original receipt, so I can't take it in for repairs. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hello Joel
Have you tried reloading the firmware in the player? This seems to cure a number of problems.

  • Muvo V100 transfer iss

My father has a Creative MuVo V00 which has songs on it already. The problem is when I transfer songs onto it for him I make a folder for the artist and transfer the song into the folder. The folder shows the song but when I try removing the mp3 player safely it always fails. So I pull it out of the usb port and then turn the mp3 player on and look for the new folder I made. The folder is not there even though when you look at it on the computer it's there. The odd thing is that if I put a new song in an original folder the song plays on the mp3 player. Any help would be great.
Using Creative Mediasource (newest version updated through program) with Windows XP.

I just use Windows Explorer to organize my MuVo (right click <i>Start</i> menu button, select <i>Explore</i> from the menu).
Try creating a new Folder in Windows Explorer and see if that works for you.
I just drag & drop files to my MuVo's Folders from my PC Music Library and don't bother with MediaSource.
The MuVo line is pretty basic (which I like as it's perfect for outdoor activities) and its file system is limited in the number of subfolders that it can address.
Are you putting new Folders within the Root?

  • ITunes Match causing battery drain and high CPU load on iPhone 5(S)?

    Hi.
I'm wondering if anyone else is seeing this — coz i see no such reports anywhere:
On my iPhone 5S, ever since iOS 7.0 (and continuing with 7.1), downloading songs form iTunes Match, downloading any album from Match is really slow, heats hop the CPU and drains the battery. (As ar as  recall, all was fine under iOS 6).
    Here’s steps:
i go to the Music app, tap “download all” for an album, or maybe a whole artist. The Downloading/Pending icons appear. Because status reporting is vague, i switch over to the iTunes Store app and its Downloads tab, which provides more info.
Here i see the first three songs downloading fairly quickly (i have fast WiFi), but once the progress bar reached 70%-ish, they go into Processing, and stay there for anywhere between 3 to 10 minutes. Eventually, they drop form the list (i.e. are done) and the spiel repeats with the next set.
While this is happening, my iPhone goes incredibly (“uncomfortable to hold” hot), and i can literally see the battery go down.
My iTunes library is largish, but not huge. i have about 17k songs, most of them iTunes purchased. (since Match has a limit of 25k *plus* iTunes-purchased songs, i’d expect 17k to be child’s play). On my phone, i have very few to no songs at all.
The other day, i completely reset my phone, didn’t restore form backup, and set it up fresh with only handful of essential apps. I’ve been seeing incredible battery life — i was still on 30% after over three days, yesterday. I then decided to try Match again — fresh, for the first time since the reset. I triggered the download of *one* album. The battery went down 8 percentage points while that album was downloading, and again the phone heated up immensely. Once the download was done, the drainage slowed down, but still seemed excessive compared to before (i was at 16% within an hour or so). I then shut down and rebooted the phone — and batter life was back to be excellent — the remaining 16% got the phone over the night.
Ok, so the first instinct is, of course: something if screwed up with my iTunes Match library, cloud side. right? So i grabbed my girlfriend’s iPhone 5 (also iOS 7.1; *much* smaller and completely separate iTunes Match Library). Triggered the download of an album and — lo and behold — the same behavior: songs hang in Processing for long (maybe not quite as along as for mine, but it’s i didn’t measure), and 3% battery drop for downloading 10 songs, and the battery continuing to drop faster than usual, after.
So of a sampling size of two, both libraries and (totally unrelated) Apple ID accounts show the same or similar problem. Yet no-one else seems to be reporting this, or similar, problems with Match? What am i missing?
I should also add that i see no such issues on my iPad (also running iOS 7.1 now), nor on my MacBook Air (my main Mac has the full iTunes library on disk locally). Downloading songs there works fine and prompt. I also have no problems *streaming* songs form Match.
*Does* anyone else see this? Any suggestions what to do to address this?
I’ve also filed a bug report with apple as radar://15964682.
    thanx!
    marc

I am experiencing the same issue as dwarfland. I have a black 64GB iPhone 5s running iOS version 7.1.1 and a grandfathered unlimited data plan with AT&T. I have had an iTunes Match subscription pretty much since it was introduced. I currently have around 19500 songs in my music library and try to have only around 2000-2500 songs physically located on the phone itself (all of my "top-rated" songs in a single playlist). I have recently needed to re-download all these "top-rated" songs after I restored my phone from a backup, wiping all the songs from my phone. Thanks for posting your experiences, hopefully someone from Apple will notice and help us out with a solution.
